E71 Bluetooth Profile switching?

This isn't technically a "Connectivity" issue but it does relate directly to bluetooth.
Is it possible to get the E71 to switch profiles when it recognises a bluetooth headset?
I though the "Enhancement" option was meant for this, if not I don't understand what the "Profile" setting under each "Enhancement" is for. Incidentally I get the same problem whichever "Enhancement" I use, "Wired Headset" etc, none of them appear to switch profile.
I was searching the internet for a utlity but couldn't find one there either!
Surely there must be other users who want a particular profile on when they are in the car (bluetooth car kit) and could do with such a utility.
Any one...?

Finally got it working...
My mistake was that I incorrectly thought the "Wireless car kit" would be the "Enhancement" I needed to configure with my desired profile I wanted - I was wrong!
My Motorola bluetooth car kit uses the "Headset" Enhancement so once I'd succesfully set-up my personalised car profile under the "Headset" "Enhancement" everything worked as expected.

  • Automatic (time based) profile switch app for 8520?

    I remember using an app called "Best Profiles" on my Nokia E71. It switches between profiles (e.g. Silent to General or Outdoor etc) according to pre-set times. e.g. it would switch to Silent profile (all alerts off) at my bed time (2330 hrs) automatically. And switch back to Normal profile when I get to work (at 0930 hrs).
    Does there exist any similar app for BlackBerry Curve 8520 OS 5?

    WOW!  Nice find Rob Rocket.  I just went in to use profile manager and was hit with the error.  Followed your directions and back to normal.

  • E71 bluetooth modem

    Hi
    Trying to surf using E71 bluetooth modem but cannot connect. I use 1 click, the e71 is seen, I have set it up for O2 UK, it tries to connect but every time I get an error message: "Failed to connect to the network! Once click access could not connect to the selected device" Have tried with/without firewall/antivirus etc... nothing.
    running windows xp with bluetooth enabled.... no idea what to do next.
    help greatly appreciated

    Sorry to reply to myself but a couple more things just in case a good sould can help (getting Nokia support seems rather difficult)
    - I can connect with the cable
    - the bluetooth modem show in the modem list (windows XP/control panel/phones and modems
    - the diagnostic returns the error message that the modem is not availble although bluetooth is switched on)
    - PC suites tells me I cannot use bluetooth to connect!
    Hope that helps

  • IPhone and Windows 7 Bluetooth profiles

    Just picked up the iPhone 4 last week and paired with my Windows 7 HP.  No problems pairing but was surprised that there were only two bluetooth profiles enabled.   I was expecting to also see the profile for OBEX to copy JPEG photos to and from the laptop.  And I was expecting to see the AV profiles so that I can access music on the device from the laptop.   I had both of these features on the Moto I replaced this with.
    Anyone else paired up with Windows and bluetooth and seeing more than just wireless iAP and remote control under the BT profile services available from Windows?   That's all I'm getting which is way less than my buddy with AT&T iPhone gets on his Windows 7 desktop and bluetooth.

    The iphone 4 has limited bluetooth support.  Check out this link for full details.

  • Look for official APPLE statement on future rSAP Bluetooth profile support

    Hi,
    My previous post was considered as "speculative" by the moderators (I still do not see what were the speculations but, OK, I let go)...
    Therefore, I'll try to be still more factual:
    _Fact 1_: current firmware of iPhone 3G does not support rSAP Bluetooth profile.
    _Fact 2_: my car needs my phone to support rSAP Bluetooth profile for being able to use the built-in handsfree kit.
    _Fact 3_: I cannot find anywhere an official statement from APPLE about this rSAP Bluetooth profile.
    _My question_: can someone give me a link to such an official statement?
    (I hope this will be considered as factual enough...

    Hello. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for. But the link below is a document that informs you about current BT Profile that is used.
    If you would like Apple to know about other BT Profiles needed to work with your car. Feel free to contact Apple via the feedback page below.

  • Blackberry Device Manager can't find 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable)

    I want to sync my Blackberry 9320 via Bluetooth to a Windows 7 Professional machine using a Bluetooth adapter. Syncing using USB cable works fine.
    I can Bluetooth pair with the 9320 and also send / receive files to /from the Windows 7 machine. Fantastic !
    HOWEVER, Blackberry Device Manager can not find the 9320 Bluetooth device (even Bluetooth is switched on and set to Discoverable) - see screen shots below.
    By the way I have already tried (amongst other things) “Manually Install RIM Virtual Serial Ports in Microsoft® Windows® 7” on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2n5dHxGHI  Unfortunately, this does now work - the drivers do load up OK and remove the warning signs when view in Windows Device Manager, but Blackberry Device Manager still can't see my 9320.
    Please help !

    I have the exact same problem with my 9360. I have also tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet with no luck. I have posted a request as well. I will let you know if I find a solution. What gets me though is that this appears to be a long standing issue with no obvious fix! Best of luck.

  • How can I make IPhone 4 "invisible" when Bluetooth is switched on?

    How can I make my Iphone 4 invisible when Bluetooth is switched on???
    Peter

    If your phone is not jailbroken, they will not be able to connect to it. It will not be discoverable unless you go into the bluetooth settings page on the phone, which makes it discoverable. If people are attempting to connect to it, I'll lay odds that FAST&FURIOUS is correct in his guess that your phone is jailbroken. If that's the case, all bets are off. Jailbreaking compromises the security of your device as well as rendering the warranty void.

  • Quick Color Profile Switching? Applescript or Widget Available?

    This question could really be on some other forums ...
    We edit a lot of pictures professionally on our iMac, but we also use it for real life. Our calibrated color profile is not as "pretty" as the regular iMac color profile, but jumping into system preferences every time to switch the profile back and forth gets annoying.
    Is there a widget or a script that we could download that will quickly switch our color profile one or two clicks?
    Thanks!

    Have you tried just not switching? Your eyes do adjust to a particular profile after a while and it looks fine. I know what you mean--when I have another mac with those bright bluish whites next to my profiled mac, mine looks dull and dingy, but after a whle without looking at a different profile you don't see that anymore.
    (there's a utility called gamma toggle that lets you switch gamma settings from the menubar, but I don't know of a fast profile switcher offhand)

  • My ipod nano paired twice with my headset and now nothing. The headset states bluetooth profile is A2DP, AVRCP, HSP and HFP whatever this means.

    My iPod nano paired twice with my headset and now nothing. The headset has a bluetooth profile: A2DP, AVRCP, HSP and HFP. I have no idea what this means. My iPod shows the headset ID number but now shows "connection failed"

  • BlueTooth Profile Driver, Windows reserved PSMs range

    I have implemented a BT Profile KDMF to simulate a BT HID Keyboard with my desktop machine ( desktop simulates a device ).
    I am trying to control an Android device, The Android device is paired with my desktop and lists the virtual BT keyboard under the list of available devices, however, when the Android device is trying to connect to the virtual KeyBoard ( implemented
    by my Profile KDMF ) connection is failing with a time out error.
    As others in the forums
    state, The HID PSMs are
    reserved for OS usage ( although they are not really used by the OS... ).
    The HID
    SDP ( Service Discovery Protocol ) I submit refer to the two custom PSMs I have registered ( with a value higher than the reserved range of 0x0000..0x1000 ).
    My guess is that although my SDP specifically refer to the custom SDPs I have registered, the Android device is trying to initiate a L2CAP connection on 0x11 ( Interrupt ) and 0x13 ( Control ) PSMs that are
    reserved for OS use ( and are not registered by my driver )
    Is there any way to go around this limitation?
    It is possible to implement a LowerFilter between bthenum.sys and the BTH Bus controller and/or bthport.sys to re-route/re-name Incoming L2CAP connections with HID PSMs to my registered ( non HID ) PSMs ?
    Can BthEnum be replaced with a custom driver? one that will publish only a set of designated services ?
    Nadav Rubinstein, See my Blog @
    http://www.sophin.com

    Dear Nadav,
    When i try to regsiter PSM 0x11 it gives me STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER error (0xc000000d).
    But what i think is if PSM 0x11 is already regsitered then i should get STATUS_ALREADY_COMMITED error(oxc0000021)?
    Below mentioned is the code snippet where iam trying to register PSM 0x11 in Bluetooth Profile driver.
    DevCtx->Header.ProfileDrvInterface.BthReuseBrb(
            &(DevCtx->RegisterUnregisterBrb),
            BRB_REGISTER_PSM
        brb = (struct _BRB_PSM *)
                &(DevCtx->RegisterUnregisterBrb);
    brb->Psm = 0x11;
        status = BthEchoSharedSendBrbSynchronously(
            DevCtx->Header.IoTarget,
            DevCtx->Header.Request,
            (PBRB) brb,
            sizeof(*brb)
        if (!NT_SUCCESS(status))
            TraceEvents(TRACE_LEVEL_ERROR, DBG_PNP,
                "BRB_REGISTER_PSM failed, Status code %!STATUS!\n", status);
            goto exit;

  • Create Bluetooth Profile in order to setup Sennheiser MM 550 X

    Hi,
    I wanted to connect my bluetooth headset to my MBP. Pairing was successfull, but could not connect. I always received the error: "a bluetooth audio error occured".
    After contacting Sennheiser support they told me that they cannot help because there has to be some bluetooth profiles setup on the MBP for which I would need some release codes. They told me also that they are sure that Apple Support can help here:
    They say that if the following bluetooth profiles have been setup the headphones will work:
    Hand free, Head set, azdp und avrcp
    Hope that somebody can help.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Found the solution and it was actually quite easy.
    Go to Preferences - Network and set up a new Profile named "Head set", with all default settings.
    Then re-initiate the pairing process and then I was able to connect the headphones.

  • Independently control bluetooth profiles

    How do I independently control bluetooth profiles for devices connected simultaneously to my iphone 4s?
    By this I mean, on my Android phone, I can connect both my car bluetooth and my plantronics bluetooth headset. Then, in bluetooth settings, I can then independently set the car bluetooth for music streaming, and the bluetooth headset for phone calls (note: both the car bluetooth and headset are capable of both streaming and calling.) Once done, these settings are remembered and duplicated (with automatic connection) whenever I get into the car.
    How can I do this with iOS/iPhone 4s?
    Thanks!

    This is not available with iOS devices.  The profile is determined automatically on pairing, and can't be modified on the phone.
