E71 does it allow a incoming message tone?

Does anyone know if the e71(with latest firmware) will play a tone when a new sms or email arives, or is it simply a notfication on the screen?

Yes, it will.
Menu>Tones>Settings>General>Personalisation>Tones>Message Alert Tone / E-mail Alert Tone
You can set your tones there.

A strange behavior in iPhoto 6 :
Easy to reproduce, it happens all the time (on my machine at least).
* Select a couple of pictures (+/- 150 MB)
* Go to Share > Burn
* Insert a blank CD
* Burn.
OK, it burns nicely. But ...
* Eject the CD
* Put that CD back in the computer to read the pictures.
* I have the message "This disc does not allow more burns. Insert a Blank CD"
* Then iPhoto ejects the CD.
Workaround ?
* Quit iPhoto
* Insert the CD again
* It reads and works OK.
Anyone the same trouble ?

I just encountered that problem this morning. I quit iPhoto and put the burned disc back in and saw in the finder that the burn worked. I did not try opening iPhoto again.
But ... I did just try to put that disc into another Mac. While the disc loaded in iPhoto, it did not show any thumbnails. I had to manually drag the photo originals from the disc into iPhoto to import them.
Anyone else like to chime in on this?

N95 8GB - incoming message tone

A big frstration with my N95 8GB is that when you receive a text or MMS you get one notifying tone, then nothing. Does anyone know if the N95 has the facility to repeat tones to remind you that there's a message waiting. If so, how do you switch it on?

by default incomming messeges has the tones which rings only one time as per messeges tones are created for short warn.. if u want to ring it long then only change the messege tone with a long one. and by default it can´t b repeat.. or only if u have light sensor on ur mobile which can remind u for unlimited time of period of a recieved msgs.

"Incoming" Message tone wanted

Does anyone have a message alert which is a speeded up voice (like a Chipmunk) saying "Incoming!" closely followed by a missile / fastjet sound effect whooshing past?
If you do I will be eternally grateful if you can leave a reply and I will tell you my email.

E71 Does not support legacy nrg ring tones

Well guys, I've found a flaw
the new E71 doesn't appear to support legacy NRG ringtones.
I moved my old faithful from my 6300 to the E71 and it can't open or play it.
I assume this is a supported format feature rather than my corrupting the file over bluetooth.

Have done a hard reset, and now for some reason the phone is ringing even with a headset connected. Hard reset seems to have created some other issues though as am getting what looks like code messages in blue on the screen upon entering various keystrokes. Am keeping my fingers crossed the phone will be stable enough to last until the next firmware upgrade, whenever that will materialize.

This means that you did not enter a valid user ID and/or password for the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server when setting up the account. You must enter information for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers; they are separate settings.

Your email provider has blocked the standard mail port 25 for sending emails and is requiring a different port. This is to avoid mail relays that use mail clients to send spam. You need to find the port that is used by your provider for sending outgoing mail. Then change the settings in your email account on your phone to match the port. You will also have to provide some security credentials for the account.
You can also try deleting the email account from your iphone, and the adding the email account back as this will many times set the correct port for sending emails.
You could also do a Google search on the the settings for your device with your email provider. That will provide you with the proper settings.

Caption Does Not Allow Me to Type a Message

How can I write a message in the caption boxes of the different templates within iPhoto when I click email to share a photo as it does not allow any text to be placed or typed into the caption boxes?
Can someone suggest something to make this part of the iphoto programme work please?

Having a problem with Firefox using Hotmail email. Inbox - as checking messages it freezes up or a 1 item window follows cursor and does not allow you to enter

I am having a problem accessing Hotmail email messages via Fireflox server. When I am in the Inbox, reviewing messages, it either freezes up or a "1 item" small icon window follows cursor and does not allow me to enter messages or do anything. Have to log off and start over. Suggestions>?

Can you detect any pattern to it, whether related to messages with attachments, or particular advertising on the page, etc.?
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
(Usually the dialog will refer to live.com rather than hotmail.com, that's normal.)
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

The issue definitely sounds like your Outgoing/SMTP settings need to be changed. Simply set them to the proper settings for your provider as was suggested above.

The SMTP settings can be edited on the iPad/iPhone by going to Settings--> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, edit the account having trouble, click the Account, then at the bottom is the SMTP server info, click on it to edit it further.
It should allow you to edit the primary smtp server and let you enter all the good stuff as you see in the Knology link above.
Some providers require you to register your account on their service like AT&T.
