E71 Email problem- "Unable to connect..."

Can anyone help me set up my new E71 for email? Im following the instructions and here is what happens:
From the main screen i select "set up email"
A box comes up asking if I want to use network to send and received data- i select 'yes'
'Testing network connections'
A screen comes up 'Welcome to email set up'- I select 'start
A box comes up with 'Email address' and a space to enter mine
I enter mine ( [email protected])
'Getting email settings....'
"Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again"
Ok- so i've tried entering my email a few times, tried a hotmail address i use and tried rebooting the system- it's the same final message every time.
What can I do? Am I doing something wrong?
M

I had the same problem
I think the error arising from the check username
example: the username is [email protected] , NM  only understand xxxaaa is username and  the mail server can not check because mail server need  domain name.
i hope NM fix this problem soon
sory for my english not good

  • Email client unable to connect?

    Just in the past couple of days I have been unable to connect to my Gmail and Yahoo email accounts through the email client. I had no problem last week with this and I have neurotically checked the setup information for each email account.
    The error I am getting is this: "Unable to connect to server, please try again."
    And so I do, but with no such luck.
    I am able to connect to WiFi without any problem (I am using my PlayBook to type this out right now).
    Anyone know how to amend this problem?

    Hi, eillo, and welcome to the Forums!
    Me, too!  My Gmail account remains stable, however I am tired of having to constantly re-input my Yahoo password.
    The Gmail issue is addressed in this thread:  http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/Playbook-2-0-cannot-connect-to-Gmail/td-p...
    I found some information about the Yahoo e-mail issue in this thread: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/Google-Apps-and-Yahoo-Mail/td-p/1579171/p...
    Unfortunately, trying to address issues with two different e-mail systems in the same thread is confusing.  I came across your thread while researching the Yahoo issue.  If I can't find another thread related specifically to the Yahoo issue, I intend to start a new thread.

     Some questions:
    Are there any other databases running on this Std Edition SQL service?
    [a] Yes there are, we have Kaspersky enterprise DB, Report Server DB and local application DB.
    Are there any other services running on this WSUS Server?
    [b] Yes there are, we have Active Directory, Kaspersky enterprise, SQL Server 2005, and WSUS all on the same server.
    How many days since your WSUS server was first installed?
    [c] It's been about a year now.
    What is the physical size of the SUSDB.mdf file?
    [d] 9,666,752 KB
    What is the hardware configuration of this machine, including disk drives?
    [e] Intel Xeon 1.86, 2GB Ram, HD C: 39GB - E: 25.2, running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2.
    How many client systems are you servicing from this WSUS Server?
    [f] Around 40.
    What products/classifications are you synchronizing.
    [g] Windows XP-vista, Windows Server 2003, Office 2003-2007, SQL Server 2005.
    Okay, for starters, you have an underpowered/overextended machine running Active Directory, ASP.NET, and a database server, all on a sub 2GHz CPU with 2GB RAM, and not enough disk spindles. The machine has had WSUS running for about a year and is 9GB in size.
    There's no doubt in my mind that some of your performance issues are directly related to disk and database fragmentation.
    There's also no doubt that some of your performance issues are directly related to memory starvation.
    I'd suggest the following long-term fixes:
    1. Get a second machine. Make it a dedicated database server. Provision it accordingly to support servicing multiple database applications.
    2. Lacking #1, this machine needs more memory. It also needs more disk spindles. At a minimum the databases being serviced should be on a dedicated physical drive; ideally there would be two dedicated drives allocated for supporting database services. The
    For the short-term fixes, do this:
    1. During after-hours time, if you don't already have one, build a temporary machine that can act as a DC/GC, while you take this machine temporarily offline.
    1. Shutdown the Update Services service, SQL Server database engine, and any other services dependent on the SQL Server database engine (Kapersky, and other reporting applications). Disconnect from the network to temporarly eliminate DC traffic. (You could also shutdown the AD services, but disconnecting the network cable is ever-so-much easier.) Defragment ALL drives.
    2. Restart ONLY the SQL Server service. Obtain this SQL script to Reindex the WSUS Databases.
    3. Restart ONLY the Update Services service. Attempt the Server Cleanup Wizard again. Run it in two passes. Pass 1 performing everything except  remove unused updates. Pass 2 running only remove unused updates.
    4. After completion of the Server Cleanup Wizard, reconnect the machine to the network and resume all other services.
    5. If you're able to complete #3, secure the services of a well-qualified DBA to determine if there are any misconfigurations in your SQL Server setup that would account for why your WSUS database is 9GB in size -- such as improperly configured autogrowth parameters. Based on the products you're updating and only forty clients, 9GB is about 3x the maximum size I would expect to see in a WSUS database. It's possible this is simply caused by excess unused updates, it's possible it's caused by fragmentation, it's probable it was caused by unnecessary autogrowth of the database due to insufficient update maintenance. You'll want a DBA to assist you in shrinking that database after you successfully run the Database Maintenance and Server Cleanup Wizard.

  • ICloud email signup: "unable to connect to server"

    Trying to sign up for the iCloud email account on iOS6. Whenever I get to set where I submitting my desired name to be added to the "@icloud.com" part, this popup appears saying this
    "Cannot Create Apple ID
    Unable to connect to server."
    what's going on? are their systems down AGAIN?

    I just went through this. After many support calls, it turns out my email address I was using to sign up had been used a long time ago for perhaps a MobileMe account. The phone didn't say the address was in use but when I went to sign up online for the AppleID at appleid.apple.com it said it was in use already. I did a password reset and then used that email and password to sign into iCloud on the phone and all worked perfectly.
    So, I'd try signing up at appleid.apple.com, and see what happens.

  • N80i SIP client problem "unable to connect"

    I'm having a problem with my N80i. When i use my phone in my WLAN for browsing the internet everything works fine. The problem appears when I try to use de SIP client, i always get "unable to connect to network". I've configured a Gizmo account,but can't connect. I've also configure an asterisk SIP account on my local network (in order to avoid any routing/port blocking/fw issue) and the same thing happens. In fact I've activated a sniffer in my linux box and I don't see any packet coming from the phone.
    As far as I've investigated it seems like the problem occurs inside the phone (no ip packets come from the N80).
    I wonder if it might be a firmware block.
    Any help will be really appreaciate

    I want to share with you my experience, just in case someone is having the same problem I had.
    I could solve the problem. Here is the config I use in the SIP settings:
    Profile name: {whatever U want}
    Service profile: IETF
    Default access point: {a WLAN access previously define as access point from the WLAN wizzard}
    Public user name: sip:{user}@{Server IP or name}
    Use compresion: no
    Registration: always on
    Use security: no
    Proxy Server:
    Proxy server address: sip:{server ip or name}
    Realm: asterisk (in case u are using asterisk or the same name defined in proxy server address)
    User name: {user}
    Password: {password}
    Allow loose routing: Yes
    Transport Type: UDP
    Port: 5060
    Registar Server: {same settings like proxy server}
    I've to mention that while i was trying to make it work, i downloaded GizmoVoip (without success), but when I tried Truphone (www.truphone.com) it did work. So what i did was to copy exactly the same profile (SIP Settings->Options->Add new->Use an existing profile->Truphone-home) and with that i created a new profile. After that I changed the config to match my asterisk and....IT'VE WORKED!!!!
    So, the conclution: I think the problem i was experiecing was due to a missconfig in the "proxy server address" or "Public user name", I'm not sure if I was putting the "sip:" at the beginning (i made to many tests that i can't remember). If that was the mistake then it seems like the Nokia N80 was not even trying to connect to the server and that was the reason why I was not seeing any packet coming from the phone with the sniffer.
    I hope this info will be useful for everyone.

    #0 08:38:43 [AWT-EventQueue-0] DEBUG AutoLog.created.com.sap.aii.ib.core.service.TypeNotRegisteredException: Type "versConflList" is not registered in the service class Type Service - Type Information

    HI,
       there could be a few reasons for this.
    First thing to try is accessing the Repository or Directory directly,
      .e.g.,
        http:<host name>:<JEE port>/dir/start/directory.jnlp
    or
        http:<IP Address>:<JEE port>/dir/start/directory.jnlp
    If the first one works then check the exchangeProfile for incorrect hostname and port entries.
    If using the hostname does not work but the IP address does then check the etc/hosts file.
    If this problem occurred after a SP update then try restarting  the Java Engine.
    If it is a PI 7.1 system with a local SLD then refer to the note -
    [No automatic PI 7.10 SLD Registration|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1334053]
    Regards

  • E71 Email Problems, Help Please!?

    Hiya, I changed ISP, and therefore had to change my email settings on my E71, I removed the old mailbox (plusnet) and entered the new details (BT Yahoo), When I restarted the phone it threw a complete "wobbler", (active screen went blank, phone acted very strangely. Anyway, where I am now, The phone seems to have sorted itself out, I have removed and reinstalled the nokia email client and the phone is downloading about half of the emails in my inbox and the whole email client runs really really slowly if at all? Sorry to whaffle, does this make any sense, I can assume the email settings are correct of I wouldn't be recieving anything?
    To paraphrase my issue, The email client is only downloading a few emails and is running very slowly, mail box takes about 1-2 minute to open? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks in advance, Pete x

    a "soft reset" seems to have gone 99% of the way to curing the problems I was having, but thanks for suggesting that, it saved me hours trawling the web looking for the solution myself.

  • E71 email problem (E71-2, RM-357)

    I have a Nokia E71-2 (RM-357) which is generally usable and is a vast improvement over the E61 that I had previously. However, since updating to firmware 200.21.118, 11-27-2008 I noticed a serious problem.
    When retrieving email often and reproducibly the Messaging application changes the email message date/time of arrival to the time that it was downloaded to the phone, disregarding the server timestamp. This happens 100% of the time with POP3 email servers when downloading email I sent from the phone (using SMTP). This happens very often, though not always, when I download email others sent me via POP3.
    Any suggestions on fixing this? I'd appreciate it.

    I have more details about this problem. Let's say there is an email waiting to be delivered on the server. If I download this email using the phone first and then get it with my desktop client everything is fine. If however I download the email on the computer first and they retrieve it with the phone then the date stamp will be wrong. I'm fairly certain that this problem is new with firmware 200.x.

  • Email disabled, unable to connect to Google Chrome settings

    I have set up Google Chrome with an email address that has been disabled. How can I access the settings with my new email address?

    Is there an Exchange 2010 Server involved in this question? If not, you should post in a Google Chrome forum.  If there is, are you the Exchange administrator?  If not, you should contact your Exchange administrator.  If you are the Exchange
    administrator, I recommend you follow this article:

  • Wifi problem -- unable to connect to server SOLVED!

    After trying all the methods suggested by people here, I finally can get my ipod touch connected to the internet and watch Youtube! Hurray.
    I use linksys WRT54G router. I have tried the following methods but in vain:
    (1) disabled the security
    (2) disabled the mac filtering
    (3) reset the router, reset the ipod
    Finally I did it by:
    (1) upgrading the firmware to 1.02.4 (I haven't upgraded the firmware for a long time because the wireless works fine..don't bother to change anything). Just go to www.linksys.com and find the right upgrade file.
    (2) Change the WPA2 from TRIK to AES.
    Then it works fine. Got the IP, subnet mask and DNS automatically.
    Thanks for those who have contributed here!

    you could also use WEP security as many ppl cant use AES or TRIK or WPA2..
    Also could you mark this solved??

    Problem
    Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
    Error message in SQL Developer - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
    Additional Information
    Steps followed -
    1. The oracle users APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER did not exist, so I ran apex_rest_config.sql from the APEX 2.4.1 patchset whilst connected sys as sysdba and provided the same password as APEX_PUBLIC_USER for both users.
    2. I also ran
    grant insert, delete on APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups to APEX_LISTENER;
    alter session set current_schema = APEX_LISTENER;
    create or replace synonym wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups for APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups;
    as per Oracle SQL Developer User's Guide Release 4.0

    Any help much appreciated

    Further to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
    So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
    Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
    Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
    Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
    INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]
    SQL Developer responded with an Authentication Failed titled dialog with the following displayed in the body of the dialog
    Cannot connect to DEV.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to tackle this?

  • Re: HP Photosmart 7525 unable to connect to Web Services

    Gary,
    I'm having the same problem, unable to connect to web services.  Can you help?

    Hi @VinceASal,
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums.   I understand that you are getting a connection error message when trying to enable web services on your Photosmart 7525 printer.
    Please set manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  If you are unsure how to do this I have included a link to another post that has the steps, including screen shots, on how to do this.  Please do not worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
    Please let me know the outcome.
