E71 & Intellisync SCCP Client

Finally got the E71 registered via SCCP on our CUCM 6.1(2) cluster but having a couple of issues.
1. For some reason when I call the phone from another extension it diverts straight to voicemail without even ringing. The phone displays a missed call but it doesn't ring. I've checked all the call manager and E71 configs but there doesn't appear to be any enabled diverts/forwards? (The same Intellisyn client works fine on an E65!).
2. The Intellisync won't auto-register when I come back in to WLAN coverage. To get the intellisync client to register I have to switch the phone off the on again.
Any idea's guys?

Which firmware you have on your device(type *#0000# to idle screen)?
Could you check also the Wlan scan is on (Tools->Settings->Connection->Wireless LAN)
What is the email client you are using?
Could you try does the same thing happen when email client is turned off (or it doesn't use Wlan Access Point)
Are you using the latest client of Call Connect (1.58(2)) ?
Do you have shared-line configuration with some other phone?
When the problem occurs does it help if you go to SCCP settings and turn profile's registration mode to when needed and then back to always on?

E71 + IntelliSync Client

Hi,
I'm trying to install the IntelliSync client (V8.00) on my Nokia E71. The client is provided by my company. Having installed the client I start it and provide the necessary connection details (uid, pw, mailserver address). All goes well. I can see on my home screen that it start replicating the email messages. Hurray.
Unfortunately when I try to open the mail it asks me to: "Enter new device lock code". This must be a 4 digit code. I have no clue what that is. I thought it is the lock code of my phone, but that isn't the case - tried any combination. Then I read that the administrator of the Intellisync Mobile suite can force a lock code (part of the enterprise security policy) but checking this they are not aware of anything. Does anyone have similar issues ???
For all clarity I installed the SyncClient_Symbian60V3.sis. I feel I'm almost there as I see new messages arriving - can even read the subject once they arrive. I only can't open them :-(
Please help me to "unlock" my problem.

Hi vincent.
The clue is that it's asking for you to enter NEW lock code.
Make one up, then confirm it underneath. It isn't asking for anything.
THere are various standards for the enforced lock code policy, 4 numbers, 4 letters and number or more complex.
Try a 4 digit pin (of your own creation) and see if that works.

E71 Nokia Email client not registering other accou...

I am using nokia E71. i ran the email setup wizard, using nokia email client i have configured it for my hotmail accounty. and then from some reason i have removed it. now when i am setting up the same email id using the nokia email client its always saying " that email is already registered with another nokia messaging account". and when i goto the email.nokia.com and try login using the same email id/pwd it says id/pwd do not match neither it let me go for the option of forgot pwd, there it says that "we cant send you the temp pwd, try again later". i have been to many forums and seems like this probleme is quite common. any help would be highly appriciateable. thanks.

I had the same frustratingly slow performance issues rendering the phone almost un-usable other than voice calls. Every thing that required to go to menu and load something was just **bleep** slow.
I however resolved all issues by changing the messaging settings to use memory card for emails instead of phone memory.
Do the following and instantly your phone will come alive again.
Menu - Communications - Messaging - Mail for Exchange - Settings - Other - Memory in Use - Memory Card
Do the same for other mail accounts.

Recording tone on CUCM 7 and Cybertech

Hi,
I meet an issue with Cybertech Voice Recording 6 and CUCM 7.1.2.
I heard a recording tone each 15s.
When I configure these statements to false, I heard no recording tone:
But when the Call recording statements are configured like "True", each 15s there is a tone play by the phone.
Netherless with wireshark I see only one skinny packet "StartToneMessage" (RecorderwarningTone) arriving on the IP Phone (7942):
Is this (only) packet informing IP Phone to play a tone each 15s?
How can I generate only one tone (at the beginning of the call)?

It's not easy to answer this kind of question.
If I remember well, Cybertech is sniffing the SCCP to find information about the specific call.
1) Playing tone only at the beginning of the call.
This is not possible. You can configure CUCM not to play any tone or to play at tone at regular interval.
2) SCCP "StartToneMessage" message
StationStartToneMessage
Cisco Unified Communications Manager uses this message to command the SCCP client to play a specified tone. If the SCCP client is currently playing a tone, the indicated tone takes precedence. If the tone definition is continuous, the SCCP client plays the tone until it receives a StationStopTone message. If the tone definition contains a duration value, the SCCP client stops playing the tone at the expiration of the specified time. If streaming is in progress, however, continuous tones get ignored on the phone and, potentially, on other devices.
This message is used to play tones within and outside the context of a call. When used outside the context of a call, the callReference filed value is set to 0. When used within the context of a call, the callReference field value contains the call reference value corresponding to the call in question.
This starttonemessage is not only used when you record a call, it's also used for example when you start a phone call:
Lifting the Phone from the Cradle The first thing that happens in the trace once we lift the
phone off the cradle is a Skinny OffHookMessage is sent in packet 7 to the CallManager.
This, in turn, triggers a flurry of Skinny messages (packets 8–17) from the CallManger to
the phone, ending on the Skinny StartToneMessage message, which tells the phone to
play a standard dial tone.

We have tested calls between SCCP clients and Tandberg units. There could be multiple ways of doing this but we have implemented it as below
VTA --> Callmanager ---> H323 gatekeeper ---> tandberg unit
Then link between Callmanager and the H323 gatekeeper is a trunk, setup in the callmanger. The dial patterns can be set easily. Both GK and CM need to be configured for it.
But it works fine.

Nokia Intellisync on E71?

Since no BB Connect can be found for the E71 I've been looking for alternatives... (instead of ditching the E71 and only using my BB Bold).
I ran across Intellisync which I didn't know existed...
Anyone using it with an E71?
Anyone know the costs involved? (looked everywhere and can't find any info).
Is there a trial or developer version (like BES)?
We're a small shop and use only BES today but I do love my E71 and would like to look at alternatives.
The few screen shot I found online show a UI that is like the new Nokia Email client. How similar are they?

may I ask from whereyou got the Intellisync 9 software? I could only find 8.0 and with my E71 it messes up the softkeys and meetinginvitations can be accepted and be sent, but meeting would not show either on E71 nor exchange calendar. Hope that version 9.0 would correct these faults.

Nokia E72 intellisync client install procedure

Could someone verify will this work?
Environment:
Intellisync Server Version: 2.0.4 / 8.0.104.4
User toked memory card from his old E71 device what had intellisync
client installed on it and placed it to new E72 device. As stated, this
seemed to work for one of our employees. I have not had change to check
the functionality but sounds intresting.

Dear Jouko Oksanen,
with firmware release 200... and up there is a possibility to install the client from mobile server 3, maybe version 2 also. With older firmware it was impossible. I have read anywhere, that is possible to connect with client version 3 to gms 2, but i am not shure.

What's a good email client for E71?

Hi
Having struggled to make email work on the E71, I have now given up and accepted the fact that I will need to purchase a 3rd party email client which will provide Authentication which my server needs.
Can you suggest which one I should buy? And your experience of it?

After spending endless hours achieving nothing but frustration I have given up on trying to access my email on our Microsoft Exchange Server using Mail for Exchange I have deleted the application from my Nokia E71 phone and given up completely trying to make this work. I have used the wizard spending endless totally unproductive hours entering in the settings required over and over again, I've installed the security certificate, I've had my tech guy make the correct settings on our server, I've deleted and reinstalled Mail for Exchange and deleted and reentered my profile information: email address, domain name, user name, password, exchange server... some times in the same session I've entered this information countless times. I have asked it to permenently accept the certificate more times than I can count. I would also like to add that my tech guy said he couldn't figure it out and he's a Microsoft Certified Professional. I would love to find another E71 owner in Calgary who has had success connecting to his company's Exchange Server and get his or her help. Everyone I know who has a Blackberry or an iPhone said they connected in minutes. I'm taking this phone back to Rogers, I'll pay out the contract and switch the the phone everyone said I should have purchased in the first place... the iPhone. I'm more than disappointed!

Nokia E71- email client

ive got a Nokia E71, and ive set up my Email client to my gmail account and whenever I reply to an email the text box area were you type your message in always appears with the Recipient message and i dont want there message so i have to delete it and it takes for ever as i have to push the delete button everytime, i want to know if theres an easier way of doing this???

I've not seen a setting for not including the original message, but if you're holding the delete key down to delete the text letter by letter, there's a quicker way - hold the shift key down, and press the down button until you reach the end, that will select all the text, then just press delete once.

E71: mail client closing

Hi,
I created a IMAP mail account on my brand new E71 and if I wanna check for new mails the email client close.
This is only with one email account. All other accounts works.
What can I do to solve this (cause it´s the important account).
If I open this mail account via POP3 everything is working fine.

E71 - how do I force email client to use only Wifi...

The email client that comes with the phone want to use my data connection to connect to the email server.
how do i set it to use wifi?
can i prevent it to access the data connection accidently?

Go in to Messages
Options - Settings - Email - Select Your Account - Connection Settings - Incoming Email - Access Point In Use - Set to desired WiFi
Do the same with Outgoing Email if needed too.
If you want to set it to use a selection of WiFi accounts, use the Smart Connect application that would have come with your phone - or can be downloaded via the Download Application

E71 Wifi Intellisync

Dear All,
I have installed a software on this device (intellisync for S60) in order to sync my emails through an Outlook Exchange account securised with intellisync.
The download of the emails using GPRS connection is fine, but I try unsuccessfully to use the wifi networks to dowload them.
How is that possible to specify that if a wifi connection is available, the system MUST FIRST use it?

This happens with me, too, sporadically, and I have an E71x.
Hope you find the answer. Can you temporarily disable 3G? I know when I use Opera Mini, it goes to 3G every time, even with wi-fi ssid's given higher priority, and I can't disable 3G on my AT&T restricted phone.
I've found after a reboot of the phone, it connects to wi-fi without hesitation. Have you checked out the Nokia Experts site?
Sure would be nice to see some consistency in the products and support...

E71 Mfe only sync when Outlook client ot OWA is op...

Hi, I have a new E71, and I setup my hosted Exchange with Mfe. When I have Outlook open, or Outlook Web Access the syncing works, no problems. As soon as I am out of the office, and I don't have Outlook or OWA open, the sync just does nothing. Then when I open my Outlook at night, it starts syncing again. Any ideas? Please help.

You will probably need to contact the hosted exchange provider about this issue.
I am a ex2007 system admin, and it should work.

I tried putty for Symbian but it only work with SSH and i need telnet as well. Anything else i can try?

Nokia Messaging 1.1: Intellisync and GMail

I use my Nokia E71 at work as an Intellisync client and I have my personal GMail account. I set up Intellisync at Nokia Email client, I cannot set up GMail in automatic mode (only I am able to setup in the regular Messaging with automatic retrieval but not push)
If I set up GMail first, everything works fine, but when I want to set up an additional mailbox, Intellisync does not appears as an option in Corporate email...
I do not know if it is intented or bug, but I would like to know to not insist trying and trying on my device

This is starting to get to the extent of being annoying.
I have somehow narrowed it down.
It only happens when the application starts to sync at the time specified under "When to sync".
Sync can sometimes be stopped by choosing cancel sync but not always.
The only reliable way is to go into online account and delete and add accounts again.
It might be due to changes being done to email account on pc while sync is ongoing. Such as deleting emails on pc while sync starts.
