E71 Memory Full Problem

Hi,
I have brand new Nokia E71 White with latest firmware available on NSU (110.07.127, 09-10-2008).
After few days of using it I found out that I cannot use "HELP" option from Nokia main menu and trying to realize what is the problem I discovered that I cannot use "HELP" option in any installed application (Handy Weather, Best reminder and many others.
Every time I want to use "help" whether is Nokia´s help or any other application I get memory full error.
This is frustrating. Anyone can help?
Regards

this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
'*' '3' 'Call Key' and Power button all pressed at the same time and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. After u have removed ur phone battery for at least 5 mins.

  • E71 Memory Full

    Hi,
Have just bought the E71 and love it all expcept the main reason I bought it. I cannot send created or reply to emails. One I have replied to the email and hit send, it comes up with the message "Mail for Exchange:Memory full. Close some applications and try again."
I have no other applications running at the time (double checked all that), have 100Mb phone memory spare and 1gb memory card spare. I have turned the phone off and on multiple times, removed memory card and SIM for a while then replaced and restarted. In short, tried evrything I know how. All the similar threads I have read say this is a phone problem, not MfE. Please help as this is what the phone is all about!!
    Jack

    My OS is latest available.
However, still face this problem. Even tried taking out battery and restart.
Delete mail on Outlook, my mailbox is 200MB, used is less than 70MB.
    Also deleted programs on E71.
Still does not work. Can't even save to draft.
It's utterly frustrating when one relies a lot on mobile device.

  • E71: 'Memory full' when holding left softkey to re...

A feature of the E71 is when you hold down the left softkey in the Home screen, it will speak unread SMS to you. Lately, and still after a hard reset, I get:
'Memory full. Close some applications and try again.'
Of course the memory is not full (75MB free) and I have rebooted. Any ideas?

Oh yes I do have the voices.
I just figured out the reason for the bug. Nokia Conversation (their threaded SMS add-on) was causing it. When I uninstalled Conversation the softkey functionality returned. Although Conversation says it's compatible with the E61 and E70, I guess that doesn't quite stretch to E71!

  • E71 "memory full" error message

    Hi there,
I've had an E71 for 7 months now and started receiving a "memory full" error message today at 1 min intervals.  I still have full functionality and have checked the phone memory which still has 1695MB free with only 191MB in use.  How do I get rid of this error message?
    Thanks

"Memory full" is a RAM issue. You've enough space on your memory card. Clean out messages, browser cache, etc....
‡Thank you for hitting the Blue/Green Star button‡

    Hey Denialist
Have you tried to remove some saved web pages. Clear the web browser cache to free some phone memory to do this select Options > Clear privacy data > Cache. Hopefully that will help speed up your phone again, please let me know if you continue having problems.

  • Camera on Standby - Memory Full - Problem Solved o...

It's not THE PHONE MEMORY OR EVEN THE MEMORY CARD CAPACITY IT'S ALL ABOUT THE IMAGE DESTINATION FOLDER HAVING TOO MANY FILES OR TOO MANY MBs!
Thanks to some guy mentioning that this might be rooted in Nokia's formatting of the MicroSD card I was lead in the right direction to solve this problem on my phone!!!!  Indeed I have my phone set to route all pictures to the Memory Card. My memory card is big, there is plenty of room on it....but I was getting the dreded error mentioned in the subject line. I could go into the IMAGE folder and delete a picture or two and get rid of the problem. But it never dawned on me to go to that folder and MARK ALL the pictures, then MOVE them to a NEW FOLDER that I created.
This steps to doing this are less than obvious. You have to create your new folder on the memory card, ok easy, then go to your overstuffed destination folder and MARK ALL, then MOVE, then select the place to move them by using the OPTIONs button to drill down to the new folder instead of the top level of the MEMORY CARD.
Now you might be able to skip moving these and just create a new folder and in CAMERA MODE drill down thru the options to get to Settings and change the destination to save the photos/videos. I didn't try this. I wanted it all to stay as I had it, going to the IMAGE folder as Nokia originally set it up.
THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM. I was scratching my head on this for a year!!!! And DUH it was really right in front of me... I KNEW the folder would take more pics as soon as I deleted some. But it didn't dawn on me to EMPTY that destination folder to another folder on the phone. I knew I could have backed them all up to my PC. Just was too lazy.
I think what threw me for the longest time was that I knew the memory card had PLENTY of room. So really this was a formatting issue Fat16?  that restricted the number of files or the total capacity in MB in any one particular folder.
Yahoooooo my phone goes into CAMERA MODE like a snap again!   And taking pictures is no problemo!!!
Now if I could only get that old 5300 I have to boot again. That's another issue.

I have the same problem with my nokia 7100s-2, when i try to take pictures it says camera is on standby. The phone is not using a memory card.

  • OSX 10.9 memory full problems

Hi, I have a severe memory problem with a Mac Air 11.6", Mac OSX 10.9.
I use word 2010 a lot, with medium length documents (10-20pages) It sometimes takes 2 gigs of RAM just for word. Why is that? none of the files themselves are over 50mb. The Mac then freezes or various programs stop responding (primarily mail). Also the task kernel_task sometimes takes upwards of 500mb... what can be done about that? is there some memory purge procedure or software for the Mac.. or some other system level solution?   we use the same documens exactly on Word for the PC that has the same amount of RAM, and never had such problems...we made sure Office and the OSX got all available updates.
    thanks

PS here is the Activity monitor process list...(after quitting word when it froze). Thanks again..

  • Backup problem, memory full! (Nokia 5320XM)

I've been having this odd problem with backups for about 2 months now and i can't make backups of my phone memory to the MicroSD card and it always says: "memory full! Close some applications and try again" But my MicroSD card has over 800mb free space and phone memory has about 65mb free space!?! So the memory is NOT full! I can't find a solution for this so any help would be appreciated

try updating software then try to
Make a partial backup using PC Suite (leave out settings and any features that you don't use), then reformat the phone using *#7370#.
It's important that you use PC Suite parital backup rather than the full backup to memory card, because sometimes the problem can be restored with your data.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

Software or even hard reset perhaps is the only way for a quick solution/fix, but first back up using for example Outlook using Nokia Suite or Funambol.
Not a nice problem you having here.
PS Are you using the phone to connect to a server with the built in file manager or do you use for example Whats Up  DS

  • Messaging Problem Nokia N95 - Memory Full, close a...

    Hi,
I'm having problems with messaging. When attempting to send the message "Memory full. Close applications and try again" appears - although there is no issue with the phone or card memory and are pretty empty. The message sits in the outbox and no matter how many times you try to send, will not allow.
At first I removed the SIM card, clean and replaced and this did work the first time. It no longer works at all now. Does anyone have any suggestions or experienced this before?
    Thanks, Phil

So have you checked that your memory is not FULL?
Go to the File Manager and then select Options Memory details (for the Phone Memory) do you have free memory?
Have you installed something that may be running in the background (like a theme or something else) try to use one of the default themes.
Have you cleaned (deleted) the internet cache for the browser?
If all fails you may need to do a hard reset and clean your phone completely of all installed things and downloaded content. Then try it (before you start loading your stuff).
Phones have a limited amount of resources and can get full very easily without you knowing. Programs use the Phone memory to store temporary files that never get deleted. DRM songs also consume memory even after you deleted the songs, etc.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • Memory full error message when battery is low

(Ive done a check and cant find anything similar)
I have an E71 and keep getting "memory full" error messages ONLY when the battery is low. I have 109 free memory out of 119, and when I connect to the USB it says it doesnt recognise it, so I cant save anything to computer, not that there is anything on there.
The problem is, because it says MEMORY FULL, it wont recharge, even when the charger is plugged in and switched on. Which means basically the phone is useless.
I think this has to be a softwear problem and not a Ive-misused-it-problem because the MEMORY FULL ! message comes up only with low battery.

Hi have you checked if your 920 memory is full via the Settings > Phone Storage to ensure that your 920 has got enough memory? Otherwise, have you checked your car stereo itself (is it a model that has built-in flash storage or hard drive storage) for its memory capacity?

Same here. Only one upgrade from Nokia which I hoped would fix the issue, but the problem persists. Really annoying. Have removed the widgets and re-created them. Tried this and that but nothing works.
