E71 Memory Full

Hi,
Have just bought the E71 and love it all expcept the main reason I bought it. I cannot send created or reply to emails. One I have replied to the email and hit send, it comes up with the message "Mail for Exchange:Memory full. Close some applications and try again."
I have no other applications running at the time (double checked all that), have 100Mb phone memory spare and 1gb memory card spare. I have turned the phone off and on multiple times, removed memory card and SIM for a while then replaced and restarted. In short, tried evrything I know how. All the similar threads I have read say this is a phone problem, not MfE. Please help as this is what the phone is all about!!
Jack

My OS is latest available.
However, still face this problem. Even tried taking out battery and restart.
Delete mail on Outlook, my mailbox is 200MB, used is less than 70MB.
Also deleted programs on E71.
Still does not work. Can't even save to draft.
It's utterly frustrating when one relies a lot on mobile device.

  • E71 Memory Full Problem

    Hi,
I have brand new Nokia E71 White with latest firmware available on NSU (110.07.127, 09-10-2008).
After few days of using it I found out that I cannot use "HELP" option from Nokia main menu and trying to realize what is the problem I discovered that I cannot use "HELP" option in any installed application (Handy Weather, Best reminder and many others.
Every time I want to use "help" whether is Nokia´s help or any other application I get memory full error.
This is frustrating. Anyone can help?
    Regards

this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
'*' '3' 'Call Key' and Power button all pressed at the same time and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. After u have removed ur phone battery for at least 5 mins.

  • E71: 'Memory full' when holding left softkey to re...

A feature of the E71 is when you hold down the left softkey in the Home screen, it will speak unread SMS to you. Lately, and still after a hard reset, I get:
'Memory full. Close some applications and try again.'
Of course the memory is not full (75MB free) and I have rebooted. Any ideas?

Oh yes I do have the voices.
I just figured out the reason for the bug. Nokia Conversation (their threaded SMS add-on) was causing it. When I uninstalled Conversation the softkey functionality returned. Although Conversation says it's compatible with the E61 and E70, I guess that doesn't quite stretch to E71!

  • E71 "memory full" error message

    Hi there,
I've had an E71 for 7 months now and started receiving a "memory full" error message today at 1 min intervals.  I still have full functionality and have checked the phone memory which still has 1695MB free with only 191MB in use.  How do I get rid of this error message?
    Thanks

"Memory full" is a RAM issue. You've enough space on your memory card. Clean out messages, browser cache, etc....

  • Memory full error message when battery is low

(Ive done a check and cant find anything similar)
I have an E71 and keep getting "memory full" error messages ONLY when the battery is low. I have 109 free memory out of 119, and when I connect to the USB it says it doesnt recognise it, so I cant save anything to computer, not that there is anything on there.
The problem is, because it says MEMORY FULL, it wont recharge, even when the charger is plugged in and switched on. Which means basically the phone is useless.
I think this has to be a softwear problem and not a Ive-misused-it-problem because the MEMORY FULL ! message comes up only with low battery.

Hi have you checked if your 920 memory is full via the Settings > Phone Storage to ensure that your 920 has got enough memory? Otherwise, have you checked your car stereo itself (is it a model that has built-in flash storage or hard drive storage) for its memory capacity?

  • N8 mail - "fmailserver: memory full" error

    Hello:
My N8 is constantly displaying "fmailserver: memory full...." error messages when accesing my Gmail and Ovi accounts.
Is anybody else noticing the same?. Any advice?
    Many thanks

Same here. Only one upgrade from Nokia which I hoped would fix the issue, but the problem persists. Really annoying. Have removed the widgets and re-created them. Tried this and that but nothing works.

  • E72 adnormal "Memory full" error

RE: E72 "Memory full" error with 10MB data reception by widget
RE: Continuous "Memory full" error after all applications are closed
Device: E72-1 HK versoin, software version:021.024
    Phone Free Memory: 216MB
    Memory Card Free Memory: 3GB
App: "Apple Daily" by Ovi store; this software preloads news with photos to memory card
Firstly reboot the device in test run, when the app Apple Daily receives data up to about 10MB, there is "Memory full" error and stops the data reception. Other embedded softwares by E72 also reports "Memory error" once the above error happened.
This situation is not resolved by closing all applications. This can only be resolved by re-booting the device.
This problem is odd that the device report memory full with lots of memory available. Even devices such as E66 and XM5530 with lower spec and less memory can run the app perfectly.
And this is odd that the device does not release memory when closing applications.
Does anyone face this problem? And anyone knows this is a bug or what is the cause?
    Thanks.

WELCOME MESELF ! to the group of users with Memory FULL !
I have the E72 for a couple of days now. After a bitter experience with the n97 with the same woes, i decided to go for a stable business phone... given the very good review of the e71...
Could not open a csv file of 1.83 MB... due to memory full error... However the same file opened very easily on my other devices...
Also the way the browser handles various files can be optimised. I think Nokia can pick up a few good things from other business phones....
Hope there is a fix soon.

    Hi everyone,
I have had my Nokia N81 8GB for over three months know and for the last three weeks I haven't been able to send text messages.
I get the follwoing error when I check the details on the error : - "Unable to send message: number of person sending to". If I click on detail I get the following error "General: Memory Full. Close some applications and try again."
What's really stupid is that I have 6 and a half gb free memory and also there is only one application running which is the music player (it cant be turned off of closed from the application list).
I sent it back to nokia and they flashed the phone to it's original settings. I restored the phone to it's original state and I still get the error message.
I have checked the message centre number with 02 and also I have got the latest software from Nokia rthrough the software updater.
ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING? I NEED HELP AS I HAVE UNLIMITED TEXT AND I CAN'T USE THEM!!
I have an o2 N81 8GB and am equally concerned about memory. I'm just trying to see how full it gets before I get to this situation.
    memory in use: 16mb
    9334 free memory
with messages at 533kb - I've got about 660 messages at the moment.
I've installed fring and opera to the memory card.
Was this one of the N81s that came with FIFA 2008? Scrubbing using *#7370# and then not installing the sis file will clear about 4gb by my reckoning.
If you've downloaded Nokia Maps 2, the sis file sits on the phone memory - i've not found how to remove it yet.

  • LG Ally text message memory full

I have had this phone for a little over a month now and I get the message "text memory full" all the time. I have 2 conversations open all the time and I clear them once a week. Other than that I don't have tons of messages. I looked online and it said to clear my cache. Well when I tried to do that it helped some but I deleted all my  live backgrounds that came on the phone and that I use, and now I can't figure out how to get them back. I really like the phone but I'm tired of having to clear all of this stuff every so often. I have never had that with any phone and I don't get a warning to clear stuff before it happens. Does anyone have any suggestions????

I have given some steps below that may be helpful when getting the “text memory full” message.
    Check your messaging options:
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click on the messages icon
-Click your menu button (the hard key with the 4 vertical lines)
    -Select settings
-Delete old messages (I would recommend checking this option, as it ensure the limit is not reached)
-Test message limit (change to desired number, the bigger the number, the better)
I would also recommend occasionally (as needed) deleting some of the threads as well.
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click the messages icon
-Click menu button (the hard key with the 4 vertical lines)
    -Select Delete Threads
I would also recommend checking the devices memory (I have listed those instructions below
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click on the settings icon
-Click SD card & Phone Storage
-Available space should give you a number in MB’s (megabytes)
Lastly, I would recommend stopping any applications that don’t need to be running. For instructions click HERE.
    Hope this helps!

  • Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.

    To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page).  The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
    1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
    2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
    3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AM

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save.  Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full".  If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error.  However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything).  The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem.  Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2.  The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size.  However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing.  When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have?  Are there known problems with large images in reports?  Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
    Regards,  Grant.

  • Nokia C5-03 SIM memory full... but NO SIM MESSAGES...

Hello everyone. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here.
Recently my C5-03 has a flashing envelope on the screen saying the SIM memory is full.
I searched on Google and found some topics saying to go to Messages -> SIM messages and delete them...
But problem is... no SIM messages appear! I'm desperate and can't find any other solution... what can I do?!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Hardstylehunt3r,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
Sorry to hear about your issue but there certain steps you can try to resolve this issue.
Memory full messages may occur if there are too many applications running at the same time or if there is not enough free space in the phone memory. Depending on the error message, the following actions can be taken:
"Memory Full: Close some applications and try again"
In this case there are too many applications active at the same time. The problem can be fixed by closing some of the applications:
Long press the Menu key to see the list of active applications.
Select the applications which are not needed and close them.
If this doesn't help, switch off and restart the phone.
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
The phone notifies you if the phone memory or memory card memory is getting low. There can be different error messages shown this situation, e.g.:
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
"Disk Full : Automatic retrieval of mailbox for exchange disabled"
To free phone memory, transfer some data to the memory card with the File mgr application (select Menu > Applications > File mgr.). Select or mark files to be moved, select Options >Organise > Move to folder and then the destination folder.
In order to free memory, you could also remove or move the following:
Messages from Inbox, Drafts and Sent folders in Messaging.
Retrieved e-mail messages from the phone memory.
Saved Web pages. Clear the web browser cache to free some memory (select Options > Clear privacy data > Cache).
Saved images, videos, or sound files.
    Contact information.
    Calendar notes.
    Downloaded application packages.
If there are applications which are not needed any more, uninstall them (select Menu > Settings > Data mgr. > App.mgr. > Installed apps.).
Any other data that you no longer need
If possible, use the memory card instead of phone memory in the Camera application (selectOptions > Settings > Memory in use to define the memory where the images are stored). You can also use Nokia Suite to transfer images and video clips to your PC.
If you are deleting multiple items and any of the following notes are shown: Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first or Memory low. Delete some data, try deleting items one by one (starting from the smallest item).
    Or you can try this:
To release the phone memory and change the email store from the phone memory to the memory card, follow the steps below.
Select Menu > Messaging and Options > Settings > Other.
Select  Memory in use> Memory card.
To question Copy all messages to the new message memory?, select Yes.
To question Save original messages?, select No if you want to release the phone memory or select Yes if you wish to keep the original messages in the phone memory.
Alternatively you can sync your phone with Nokia suite and clear the messages that way if it is not showing on your device. Full instructions on how to sync can be found on the follwing link:
    http://support.ovi.com/osc/en_GB/service/ovi_on_your_computer/howto/support-suite-syncing-and-backin...,
If this doesnt help you can try doing a soft reset by inputting code *#7780#. This wont delete any data but rather reset your phone settings. If the device ask for a default code this is usually 12345.
There's a lot to try to resolve here so give it a go and let me know if any helps.
    Regards
    Raoul_Duke

    Hi,
I purchased this phone mainly to use for Navigation and phone, but disappointed by the error shows up every time when you are in need while using Map.
I do not have any extra applications running other than it came with. I have closed all the running application which running map. Phone software and Map is upto date with version (V22.0.007 and 2.45 on map) Earlier versions also same problem. Currently the available memory shows 27.2 MB)
I tried all the solutions given in /t5/Hardware-Codes-and-Operator/Nokia-C5-03-SIM-memory-full-but-NO-SIM-MESSAGES/m-p/1260683#M25236, but no use. Same error.
Is there any way out other than choosing another phone and brand?

Moderator's notes: Post moved into it's own thread.

I am completely frustrated with this phone (Nokia C5-03). I originally wanted a smartphone but didn't want to buy the brand leader like everyone else so I thought I could rely on a Nokia.  I have had this phone for less than 12 months now and I have already done a full reset TWICE and have lost all of my information.  On both occasions when the memory problems starting occurring with the phone I tried to back up my info to my PC but the phone told me that I had "not enough memory to perform operation"!!!! I am now getting memory full messages every 10 minutes and the phone will do nothing for me.
There is nothing left on the phone to delete.  I had my email synched to the phone originally for about two weeks but had to get rid of it as it was slowing the phone down.  I never connect to the internet with the phone - I mean NEVER. In browsing the web for solutions I am constantly finding varied and interesting comments about clearing the cache via the web app (I cannot connect to the web on the phone now - NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION) and connecting my phone to a PC and browsing the memory to find out what the "other files" are (NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION) or even downloading software onto the computer, running this in the background as I connect phone to PC in order to clear the memory (NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION).
I reiterate that I use the phone for nothing other than SMS and calls.  I had images on the phone but they are long gone. I have done two full resets to factory default settings and I'm facing another one and I am beyond frustrated. Please dont tell me to connect to my PC (see above) dont tell me to connect to web via phone (see above).  My phone memory is showing 22MB SIS applications (which I understand I cannot get rid off) and 46MB other files (WHY????) I reiterate that I do not (and now cannot) browse the web on the phone, I don't use e-mail on the phone, all I do is sms and calls.   WHY WHY WHY is my phone not working?  Is there anything to be done with this phone or do I put it out of its misery?

  • Memory full error

I'm getting "memory full error" during generation of report. CR version is 8.5. The report contains 2 sub reports. Can anyone suggest what exactly the problem is and what could be the solution ... ??
    Thanks in advance ...

And if you run the report int he Designer do you get the same error?
If not then what is the application doing when it gets the error?
What have you done to debug the issue?
Yes, getting the same error in designer also. My application is actually passing data to CR for some inventory related display. The report contains 3 sub reports linked with main report. I'm debugging all the sub reports as I doubt that it can be bcoz of one of the sub reports.  Will check and update you ...
