E71 "Move to Folder" challenge

OK, how do you move a game application from the E71 Installation folder to the Games folder, using either the "Move to Folder" option or PC Suite?
At this point, I'd say that this manoeuvre is impossible.

sorry, but that doesn't help my situation now. they are still there and I still can't restart computer. It says operations are in progress. These are not even big files. They should have moved without a move window.

    Hi..
Not a good idea to move a system folder to an external drive as you have discovered.
Go to Finder > Preferences > Sidebar then reselect the box for the folder that disappeared.

  • How to move Pictures Folder to a new location.

I have 4 internal HD's and I would like to dedicate one to be my Pictures HD/Folder. Is it as simple as copying the folder to that drive? I hope so.
I use Photoshop and Lightroom only. Just use IPhoto for desktop wall paper folder.
    Thanks!

If you use iPhoto at all, then it's a tiny bit more complex. Move the Folder then hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. Select Locate from the resulting dialogue and then navigate to the new location. Thereafter that will be your default iPhoto library.

  • Move a folder, sub-folders, and documents under that folder from one document library to another within a Workflow

    Hello,
I'm building a workflow in SharePoint Designer 2010 (Unfortunately we are not on 13 yet), and in that workflow I need to move a folder (with all it's sub-folders and items) from one document library to another document library.
I tried a copy item but that kept failing, I checked content type, columns, and permission and it all looks good.
the other option I started looking into is to Create the folder in the document list and them move all the items under that folder to the new folder. However I can't figure out how to loop through each items in that folder.
Has this issue been addressed? or does someone has a solution.
I looked and searched and all I found was tutorials on moving single items into a folder, but not entire folders.
    Thanks
    Hani

Why to take pain in creating a workflow that copies folders, sub-folders and all of its contents from one document library to another.
Simply open your source and destination document library in Windows Explorer mode and start copying your folder, sub-folders and contents that you want to copy out of the box.
You will find "Open with Explorer" button under the Library tab on the ribbon of document library.

  • "Unknown Error" when trying to move a folder from local MAC drive to External HDD

    Help?
    Thanks`

    Hi,
Are you trying to move the folder to the root level of the target external drive. If so try first making a folder in external drive and then retry moving to that new folder. A similar problem was reported in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/2950191#2950191 on windows where you could not export to the root level of a disk. I recall having a similar problem on my Mac and I believe that it was the same.

  • Rule containing "Mark as Read" and "Move to Folder" does not remove New Mail Notification

I asked this question in another forum here (sorry for not linking, but the forum would not let me because my account is not yet verified):
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/rule-containing-mark-as-read-and-move-to-folder/061a8009-dd98-4304-81b0-6c4c8a5a6205
They passed the buck to this forum.  Can anyone help?  Here is my original post:
I have set up a rule so that emails from a certain sender should be marked as 'read' and routed to a certain folder.  The rule works just fine except for the fact that it does not remove the new mail notification from the taskbar icon
or the system tray.  The rule reads as follows:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
with New Home Sale in the subject
move it to the _New Home Sales folder
      and mark it read
Once I open the _New Home Sales folder, all messages are marked as read, as they should be.  When I open any of the emails in this folder, the notification goes away.  It does not even have to be the most recent email or the same folder
    - opening any email from any folder clears the notification, even if the same email was used to clear it before.  Previewing does not remove the notification.
I have a similar rule set up for another folder:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
with New Home Final Sale in the subject
move it to the _New Home Final Sales folder
      and mark it as read
The same thing happens here with the unread notification.
This is very annoying, as I want to receive these emails but I do not need to know every time one comes in.
Does anyone have any advice on this?  I have read a few threads about an unread email bug, but I'm hoping I'm just missing a setting somewhere. I find it hard to believe such a bug would persist this long.

    Hi,
From your description, I would like to verify the Exchange version and Outlook version at first. Since I have a test in my environment using Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. I create a same inbox rule, it works and there is no new mail notification from
    the taskbar.
What's more, I recommend you use Outlook safe mode to determine whether the problem is caused by add-ins.
If the issue persists, please install the Outlook latest Service Packs and check the result.
    Hope it helps.
    Best regards,

  • A "Move to Folder" command

If I select a file or more likely several files, I'd like a "Move to Folder" command that pops up a hierarchical list of the folders that Bridge knows about, then allowing me just to click on the folder name to put the file or files there. Moving files within Bridge is important enough to make this an easier process.
Thanks for Bridge, I look forward to subsequent releases so I can deep-six Extensis Portfolio.

Thanks for you feedback. You wish has been granted (you can choose either Copy To or Move To from the File menu or from the contextual menu). Check out the free beta of Bridge CS3 (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs3/)
    Cheers,
    Arno.

  • Why can't I move a folder from contacts to the mail address line?

Why can't I move a folder from Contacts to the address line in mail?

If all of the contacts don't get moved into the address field(s), it's possible that some of the contacts in a Group contain  information but not email addresses for those individuals.
Don't really know what else to suggest except, possibly, that you delete, then re-create the problem Groups.

  • Move music folder to original

how do i move music folder to original location-win 7? I am unable to play most songs because the original cannot be located.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Select the text on the line below by dragging across it. Don't include the blank space at the end of the line. Only the text should be highlighted.
    touch -t 198001010000
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V, then press the space bar.
Now switch to the Finder and and select the item(s) in question. Drag into the Terminal window. More text will be added to what you entered.
Click in the Terminal window to activate it, then press return.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear. You can then quit Terminal.
    Relaunch the Finder.

  • How do I move a folder in Grid view?

I'm in the early stages of working in LR.
Somehow, I have wound up with a folder of images appearing as a subfolder to the previous one in the list. It is not a subfolder on the drive of original images.
How do I move this indented folder out?

It had better be, or it better show up in red.

  • How do I move Documents folder?

I am trying to free space on my old Macbook Pro.  My friend created a partition where I am moving most of my files to, including my pictures, downloads and Dropbox.
I would like to move my Documents folder too as there is plenty of space remaining in the partition.
Is there a simple way to do this?  A drag and drop simply copies the files but I want to move the default location if possible.
    Many thanks

Will the issue you have both raised affect my computer if I move the Documents Folder?
I don't think so. AFAICT, Office 2008 has no problems with symbolic links under SL. Regarding the MUD folder, if you quit all Office apps and move it to <~/Library/Preferences>, it should stay there. See this hint
    <http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20060228051625893>
If this were my machine, I shouldn't try to move a subfolder of Home -- either move it all, or store my documents in a different folder from <~/Documents> (you can put a symlink to this folder in Documents; if you give the link a name beginning with a blank space, it will always be listed first in Open or Save dialogues). But if disk space constraints don't allow you to do this, and you have to move Documents, I don't see any other solution than the one suggested by Matt Clifton.

  • Move Documents folder to an other partition or drive.

    Hello,
I want to move some user folders, like Documents, images, music, video and downloads folders, to an other partition or drive. I am using Mac OS X 10.5.2. I would like to move only those folders and not all the Home user folder.
I would appreciate a lot all the help you could give me. Thank you for your time,
    Marcelo.

If you move all those folders there won't be much left in your home folder so it might be easier to move the entire home directory. But if you insist you can do this by creating symbolic links.
here are the steps for moving the Documents folder. the rest are handled similarly. (I would advise you to first try them on a test user account).
    1. Run the following commands in terminal
    *cp -Rp ~/Documents /Volumes/"diskname"*
Put the name of the disk you are moving it to instead of diskname in the above
    2. make sure that everything copied correctly and run
    *chmod -R -N ~/Documents*
    3. next, delete the original documents folder:
    *rm -rf ~/Documents*
    4. And finally, create a symbolic link.
    *ln -s /Volumes/"diskname"/Documents ~/Documents*
again, put the name of the disk you moved Documents to in the above.
    I believe, that covers it.

P.S. i believe you'll loose the special system icons on the Documents folder when you do this so you might want to copy that icon and paste it onto the folder /Volumes/"diskname"/Documents before deleting the original Documents folder.
