E71 music player lost volume control

Hi, my E71 has lost the volume control I was on a plane to LA and had no use of the MP3 player. I re-set the phone and it wasn't repaired.
Looks like the firm ware has lost this and as neither an update or a re-load option available not sure what to do.
Also how do you get the music play to update the libiray as I have deleted the music and it still shows? any ideas would be helpful.

Hi an update in trying different things the volume control worked when I removed the SD card hence I have now re-formated the card and all working.

I am using tehe Nokia E71 AND EVERYTHING IS SO FAR SO GREAT. The only problem I am experiencing now is that I cannot move to the next track using the button (that is part of the headset). In order to move to the next track, can anybody tell me how to move to the next track without having to remove my phone from the pocket?.
I have used phones e51, 6120 classic and 5300 with the same problem.

Since last 5 months am also facing the problem in E71 Music player (next track) control using the Nokia provided headset........
as you have discussed suggested to install PowerMP3 so i have installed that with version 1.00 which was free available... BUT ITS NOT WORKING... is there any other upgraded version of PowerMP3 available ?

The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.
If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.

E71 music player error

ever you got your music player doesn't respond when you click "refresh"?
and new song doesn't display on all song list?

whenever u transfer the music transfer it to media transfer mode & copy all the songs in the Music folder only after that wait for at least 10 sec and try with refresh button in music player yesterday i did the same n got all the songs in music player....I'll tell you one more thing when u'll do this u'll not able to control the volume in the music player ..please check it and let me know..

E63 & E71- Music player's equalizer does not work ...

I would advise to all the owners of the E71 and E63 that Nokia disenable the equalizer of the music player when you put the headphones in appliances. After updating the unit note that the equalizer only works with the sound of the speaker and the equalizer does not work with the headphones anymore.
I ask you to please click the link below and make their complaints about this new firmware that "destroys" the equalizer for the music player that Nokia fix this terrible problem!

Oh my. That is a big problem. Fortunately for me, I don't use the equalizer so it doesn't really affect me all that much. But still, I have no idea how they could just randomly break something like that.

Inspire T5400. Lost Volume Control. Any way to "hack" the input for the Volume Control?

Hey. I've lost the volume control for my Inspire T5400. Is it possible in any way to "hack" it to make the volume on the loudest? I dont have to be able to lower the volume.. I'll just do that on my pc.

Just change the check after the Lexical Class function. If you just want numbers and letters, then use the In Range & Coerce function to check for class numbers 3 through 5. Play around with the logic some more until you get what you need (I'm thinking that AND should be an OR).

E71 music player refresh

I just can't get the player to refresh correctly! It always freezes no matter what I do. I added ~200 songs, it detected ~90 but stopped there, saying "refreshing" even after 1 whole hour!
I tried Nokia Music Manager (from PC suite), Windows Media Player, Mediamonkey, tried manually putting the mp3's in the memory card, tried the default folder, tried custom folders. What's going on!?
I am using the latest firmware.
Please someone help me out with this, I'm so frustrated, I'm starting to consider other options (selling this mobile).

Unfortunately, at least in my case, the solution suggested that involves deleting hidden files, reformatting the memory card, etc. does not work. The only way I was able to fix my E71 was by re-flashing the entire phone, then reinstalling everything. That fixed the problem, but only for about 2 weeks. Last night, I went to sleep with 913 music files on my phone. This morning, the files are stil there, but Music Player doesn't see any of them.
The only status that changed was I turned my phone off, last night, and turned it on, this morning. No music files were added or anything.
I don't care to re-flash my phone, every couple of weeks. Even with the latest firmware, there seems to be a problem with the E71 and its music player.
Although it takes a little while to start up, I'm now using LCG Jukebox, as my music player. It doesn't display track listings as well as Nokia Music Player, but LCG Jukebox has no problem reading the tracks that Nokia Music Player cannot even find. Plus, LCG Jukebox allows me to fast forward through single MP3 files, such as podcasts, which is a trick Nokia Music Player cannot handle.
I'll be interested to see, with these new phone Nokia is releasing (N8, C7, E7, etc.) if the same software problems with the E71 pop up, there. No amount of eye-candy (the coverflow display) can make up for a music player that cannot even identify tracks in common MP3 format, on the memory card.
This thread might as well be closed out; there's no reasonable resolution to the problem of the E71 not refreshing its music tracks. If it happens to your phone, there really appears to be little you can do about it. Nokia has your money and the only choice now is whether you'll give them more, and spin the roulette wheel on a new Nokia phone, betting the music player on that phone won't spike the same issue.

Music Player with speed control

I am trying to create a music player for a college project which allows the user to choose from a number of sounds and apply effects to them. I believe the easiest was to do this is have several copies of each file and somehow switch between them, staying at the same point- i.e. the sound gets to 1:23, I press a button and then a deeper version of the same sound would start at 1:23.
Is this the easiest way to do this, or is there an easier way?
And how would I go about creating this?

Keyboard: Lost Volume Controls and CD Eject after (****) RAM upgrade

G5 1.8 MHz tower, OSX 10.4.8: Upgraded RAM, chips kept producing errors, so replaced them with different brand. However, during the error/shutdown/reboot process the apple volume keys and CD eject buttons stopped responding. Replaced keyboard with working spare, rebuilt permissions, tried disconnect and reconnect, changed keyboard for Macally Icekeys and installed software, zapped PRAM, carbon-copy cloned OS to another G5 (1.6 MHz) on which the keyboard worked, and found the error recurred after the new OS was up and running. Recurrs in admin and user boots on both G5's. Therefore must be in OS. Didn't want to do reinstall of OS, so hoped I could find relevant code and review it. Only effects the volume up, down, mute and CD eject keys on apple pro and macally keyboard. Now how's that for bizarre?
Nothing in system prefs seems to permit modification of keyboard, Macally installation didn't fix it. Assume during reboots with faulty (unsuitable) RAM - which was DDR 400 3200U chips, 512Mb, 3.0n/s (not 2.5 - unobtainable here at present) the OS became corrupted. (Hence copying startup drive to other G5 reproduces the error.)
Interestingly software options such as commandE in iTunes and Toast6 work to eject. I think therefore it's a keyboard recognition problem, only for those four keys.
Nobody can say I don't try hard to cause (and resolve) problems.
My FINAL SOLUTION will be to reinstall the OS, and do all the upgrades again, but I thought I'd see if anyone else had any thoughts. Oh, I didn't reset the CUDA switch once I'd decided it was probably software related.
(Classics, SE's, LC's, PPC's) iMac's, eMac's, G3's, G4, G5's, G5 iMacs,Powerbook G3 Mac OS X (10.4.8) Reluctant PC user also (Don't ask)

Further: Finally used Cartbon Copy Cloner to copy boot drive to spare HDD, then reinstalled OSX, copied original files/preferences etc back, and keyboard works, fully functional.
Did have to do all the updates for OSX10.4 iof course. But still no anwer as to why?
A failure to recognise keyboard, corrupt system files.
No thoughts?
No easier solution?

The music player on control center on ipad2

Since I updated my ipad2 , i have gotten hang of most of the new functions , but then I am having some issue with the music player on the control centre , there Is the play button and next there. But then i can't play music when I press play, then even after I open the music app and play from there,it's playing , but I cannot next on the control centre also , in IOS 6 , I could just start from the control centre by pressing play without opening the music app , is it the IOS 7 issue or it's my iPad not working ? The rest is all fine but . Can someone help please .

yeah even i am facing the same issue. The sound works for some time and the moment i get happy that the issue is solved, the bingo no sound.
Its really frustrating i have to say and also i have noticed the over all volume of the ring tones has come down.

5800 Ordering in podcasts within music player- Pod...

Within the music player on a 5800XM, how can I control the ordering of podcasts when using
the Podcasts->By Title search option with the music player...??
What this currently does is orders these is the newest first order, where as if you
a listening to a radio drama (like me, who listens to the Archers approx twice a week)
you want these to be in the oldest first order!

I don't know if there's a way, and I am annoyed by this missing feature too.
I just wanted to advise you against upgrading to firmware v50, as the podcast section of the music player lost important functionality.
Now browsing podcasts by title is your only option. Gone are shortcuts like "recently added", "never played", "by date" etc. That's very sad, as "recently added" makes so much sense with podcasts!
I also don't understand why we cannot add podcasts to a playlist. Podcasts are just mp3 files like all other music files.
I am now looking for a way to downgrade the firmware (or just the music player) to v40. I regret so much having updated!!

Asha 501 Music player without equalisers

Hi,
My nokia asha 501 music player doesn't have equalisers, can we expect the next future release of the asha software..
Also, when I plugin the earphone and listen any songs and unplug the earphone music stops. Is this expected behavior,
I've check with other phone, ideally they should play in the speakers but music player stops working as soon as I plug out earphone.
Also, I tried to listen the fm thorough spkear (inserting an earphone) as soon as I unplug the earphone and try to listen the music player the volume is very low..

May or maynot be not sure. But you can expect an equaliser app which available in store for asha 311 series devices.Its name is "smart 40". But any how this(501) is new platform and not sure if an app is available.

N95-1 Music player Volume control problems

I muted the music player recently by turning the volume all the way down via the side volume controls and now I'm unable to turn the volume back on or up. The up controls on the side of the phone seem to work, ie feel the click of the switch operate, but nothing happens? I'm able to listen through the headset HS-45 that comes with the phone but have no control over the phone/music/video via the AD-43 in either the Music or Video modes?. Haven't yet tried the phone functions via headset! can somebody throw some light onto these issue's - phone has been its firmware recently updated to the latest version via the Nokia web site without any problems in a hope of rectifying these issue's but no luck.

I have a similar problem. Recently upgraded to V21.
Stick with me here...
Firstly I noticed the volume keys on the side of the phone didn't work; couldn't turn music up/down nor did they work when I was on a call. The only way to adjust in call volume was to use the centre navi key.
Secondly; whenever this happens I also notice when the keys are locked that the message "Press Unlock to activate keypad" keeps appears on the screen without me pressing anything.
Finally this causes a battery drain. Massively increasing the power usage from 0.2w to well over 1w
This happens intermittently i.e. cant adjust volume for about a day then everything is fine again.
Yesterday I also noticed that when the above happens the music controls (multimedia keys) when the slider is down dont work, they dont pause, play, stop, fwd/rwd or launch the music player.
Any ideas?

Bug: music player volume disabled when navigating ...

First of all, again, much kudos to Nokia for releasing free voice navigation!!
One feature I like a lot about the navigation function is that I can listen to music (e.g. while cycling) and still get voice directions. However I've experienced the following bug with Maps v3.03 10wk01 b05 and Music Player (firmware v40.0.5): when voice navigation is on, I cannot change the volume of the music player any more. In other words, when the Maps application is in the foreground, acting on the volume rocker will adjust the volume of voice navigation, as expected. However, when Maps is in the background and the music player is in the foreground, acting on the volume rocker has no effect (not even on the navigation voice volume).
Not sure this is a bug of Maps, but it looks like having navigation on disables volume control on the music player.
Does this happen to you too?

On my E71 I cannot separately control the volume for Music Player and Maps. This is an annoyance when driving with the Bluetooth connection to the car stereo.
