Why does it take so long for Nokia to release the firmware updates for unlocked NAM phones?
There was a firmware release in March and it's still not available for my NAM product code.
oh Great Does it fix many of the things from Mavericks? And what if you have installed things in Mavericks like a thing that adds folder functions and stuf like that. And i have a Mac Pro 2.66 Gzh Quad Core IntelXeon. from 2009. 10GB
I heard that yosemete is not good for the older macs. I wonder if mine is considered old

Why no Update yet even though Mavericks full of Finder bugs
In the Finder We have problems with Windows, folders(they stubborn and don't want to move where you move them), and regarding web related operations TEXT operations and Text Edit, you can no longer Copy text and images from a webpage and Pasting them to a Text Edit document. The text is really small and the images are not transferred. Especially if you do it with Firefox.. The only way you can highlight text and images from a webpage and copy them into a text file is to use SAFARI.. and then highlight the text and images in the webpage and press... COMMAND + C+ CTRL and it has to be in that order... one after the other..and hold each key..
Printing is weird too. The Text Edit Text looks good in your monitor but when you preview it for Print Preview it's super huge..So then you have to go back to your document and make the text tiny.
That and other problems including files and folders becoming invisible when you drop them accidentally into other files or something.

The wifi has been lost or disconnected on my iPad. It's the iPad 2 and has not been updated yet. It's IOS 6.1.3 .. how do I add a network back onto it? I have typed in the name and chosen each of the securities and still hasn't connected!

It sounds like you are unable to join your network and cannot see it in the Wi-Fi list in Settings. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.

Unable to locate a Wi-Fi network
Verify that the network is available by tapping Settings > Wi-Fi and choosing from the available networks.Note: It may take a few seconds for the Wi-Fi network name to appear.
Move closer to your wireless router (access point) and attempt to locate the Wi-Fi network.
If you do not see the network you would like to join, you may be attempting to connect to a hidden network. Learn how to join a hidden network.
Supported Wi-Fi configurations vary by iOS device model. Find out which standards your device supports3.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings

It's named after a favorite surfing beach in California. Many companies are now using names of places because then they know the name doesn't violate a trademark in any of hundreds of countries. Thinking up product names is very difficult, legally speaking. Place names are convenient. -

Hello everyone, I hope soomeone here can help me out, many other forums have been un informative,..
I just updated my firmware to 110.07.127. everythig is great i migrated my programs over and my contacts and all, but i have one issue..
When i am at the Home screen, if i start typing the name of my contacts it no longer brings up a list of possible selections for who i may want to call..
I loooked everywhere to find the option but there is none to enable/disable it..
ow do i get my home screen contact saerch back !!

Go to Solution.There are three possibilities:
1) Start typing the name. Then press "Options" (left softkey) and choose "Contact search on/off"
2) Go to Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Call -> Contact search (last item in the list) and switch it to on
3) If you don't have the possibilities 1 or 2 then you are out of luck. Either Nokia has removed this possibility in the latest NAM firmware or it was from the beginning not a NAM but an APAC version with a wrong firmware (eg a so called "Gray Import").

Why after updating itune i can no longer import vinyl to the itunes
Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
Anyways I digress.
So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

I am a new macbook user forced to give up Digital Image Pro (winXP), and looking for a photo program that sorts BY NAME. REPEAT BY NAME.
I was ready to purchase PSE11, but luckily I read this forum and saw that in your infinite wisdom you spared every expense and removed this function.
I have no need for face recognition, type of photo, etc.
Should I abandon 15 years of files all sorted by where they were taken?
I think not. For you to do this to previous owners shows a blatant disregard for them.
I will look elsewhere and not to a Photoshop product.
Should you provide an update that corrects this I would consider installing it on my 2 new Apple machines. Hurry though...... -

Nokia E52 Message Sender Name/Field is not updated automatically on Firmware 054.003!
Issue 1: Message Sender Name/Field is not updated automatically after changes made in contacts.
e.g. Message send by Mr. A is displayed in inbox, however when same contact changed to Mrs. AB in contacts does not update sender name/field inside inbox. Sender name remains Mr. A physically on handset. However the changes made to contacts and Message Sender Name/Field is updated automatically on use of Nokia PC Suite 7.1.60.0 and Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 but not on phone.Thanks for sharing the answer here, it is really helpful for others with the similar issue.

Safari 3.1 doesn't work after Firmware 1.5 update
Hi. After downloading the Firmware 1.5 update, I can't use Safari 3.1 anymore. I am able to connect on-line (e.g., I can search successfully for updates), but I cannot web-browse. I reloaded my ISP software, and that is not the problem. I also have cleared the cache on Safari and that didn't help either. Please help. Thank you!

Do you Verify your disk occasionally? Apple could automate that as part of chron scripts, but they don't. In fact, the chron scripts themselves only run if you leave your machine active overnight. There are plenty of things that Apple could do, but doesn't. Why? Only they know.
But, the OP has an app that is not opening, and DU help states: "If you have trouble opening applications or documents, or if your computer is running slowly, the user permissions for some of your files may be set incorrectly. Permission problems sometimes happen after you update your system or install new software. With Disk Utility, you can repair these problems."

I have tried several times to update the firmware for my wireless printer. Each time I try, I get an error message stating that the Firmware Failed to Update. Power Cycle and Try Again. Each time that I try, the USB cable is connected. The firmware updates for the printer that is "connected" with a USB, but will not update for the "wireless" printer.

ThanksMost likely because the 7300 card is used in Mac Pros, so the firmware update is targeted for the computer to fix a problem with that video card.

Thunderbolt Firmware 1.2 update problem
I have an iMac 27" 3.4ghz, 16GB RAM, 768 Flash Drive (SSD), and 2gb VRAM.
The system is only 1 1/2 weeks old and after updating to Thunderbolt Firmware 1.2, both of my ports are not being recognized at all. In other words, they are dead. I've called Apple Tech Support and went through various troubleshooting steps including SMC Reset, Zapping the PRAM, safe booting, etc. and yet nothing works. Finally, they had me do a system image and forward it to their software technicians. The case was opened this past Sunday and I was told they would be getting back to me within 48 hours, but havent heard back just yet.
One thing I should point out, my system keeps telling me that there is a software update showing me the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 is available. I've tried to update many different times and it keeps showing up after my system restarts.
Has anyone else been having this problem after updating to Firmware 1.2 or had any luck updating on an iMac 2012?I tried this (unplugging/replugging Thunderbolt cable), and rebooting MBP, and unplugging/replugging power cable to the Thunderbolt display. None solved the problem after Thunderbolt Firmware 1.2 update. Prior to Thunderbolt Firmware 1.2 update usually one of those operations would resolve the problem.
However adding the keyboard USB extension cable makes the keyboard working again when connected to the Thunderbolt display. -
MacBook Pro battery had accumulated more than a 1000 charges, and stopped functioning unexpectedly. Went and got the battery replaced. Just saw that SMC Firmware 1.6 update deals with this. Possible to get my money back?
The firmware update corrects an error that may occur, however the techs would have checked the condition of the battery prior to installing a new one. If the battery was questionable, the firmware update was really not too important.
You can check the battery condition by going to the apple, left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and see what it says about Cycle Count, Condition, Capacity: Condition anything but Normal needs to be checked and may need to be replaced.
The cycle count of 1,000 charge cycles is the typical life of a Lithium-Ion battery, the point at which the capacity drops to 80% of the as built capacity. -

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

I love the Kaspersky Pure Password program and us it constantly! After updating my Firefox browser from 4.0 to 5.0... I found that the plug-in for my password program no longer worked!
I emailed them and they do not have an update yet that is compatible with Firefox 5.0....
So I need to go back to 4.0 till Kaspersky has an update because I am lost without my password program!
Please help me.Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

How do I only show typed URLs in the Top Sites screen?
It's really obnoxious to see hundreds of ephemeral URLs that you'll never visit again on the Top Sites screen. Is there a way to make this user friendly so I can only see the URLs I typed. I am happy to set something in about:config.
