E71 - No warning when you set up a past date in a ...

I had set up a calendar entry to remind me of a bill payment every 17th of a month. In other words, it's a calendar entry repeating monthly. This time, I needed to edit it. So I went over to the entry, and edited the date to read 15 (from the previous value 17). I didn't touch the month. I clicked Done and came out. Would you have sensed something wrong?
Just by chance, I happened to visit the calendar again about an hour later and I found the same calendar entry on the 17th. I wondered if it should have been moved to the 15th, but thought this might be the case for the present month only because I did use the entry on the 17th this month. But when I checked the entry for the March, it was again on the 17th.
Frustrated, I edited the calendar entry again, to remind me on the 15th of every month rather than the 17th. It even asked if I wanted to change the schedule for only this occurence or for every repeatition. Then I clicked Done and came out. Of course, this time I checked again. And the entry was unchanged (was set at the 17th). What is this? No warnings, no error messages, nothing for something that's really an error. (But other times, when there's absolutely no error, the phone would happily flash error messages like out of memory or cannot install from the card or etc.) The phone silently ignored the important changes, giving the impression that it has accepted them.
The solution? You need to change the month to the next one as well if you wish to set the date to a previous one. The complaint? Nokia is ever so good in adding surplus error messages, why not add a reasonable warning? The moral? Never trust your Nokia phone; double check everything after doing it.

Thank you for your interest. Could you please try the steps below:
Create a new entry for today (repeating monthly) and set it to remind you a minute or two after the current time. Exit the Calendar. Let it happen (remind you / sound alarm) first.
Okay, the entry has done its work for this occurrence. Now open the Calendar and edit that entry (for this month February, and not the March or another month occurrence) to change the date to 14th (do not touch the month which should remain 02). Choose to edit the entire series when asked (maybe it asks before you start editing).
Click Done or Save or whatever it requires to save the changes. Exit the Calendar.
View the supposedly changed entry. Is it the 14th for every occurrence (expected) or just today's date (actual thing happening with my phone)?
If your phone works as expected, this is then clearly a bug in the E71 Calendar. If not, it's an annoying "feature" in both the models.

  • When you set up tracks what is best to pick for the input and output?

When you set up tracks what is best to pick for the input and output? also what is the buss output? Thanks

First part of the question I don't understand, so could you elaborate please?
Second part: bus output is used for submixes, for example, let's say you want the same EQ to be applied to all guitars in the song, so instead of using same EQ plug-in on all guitar tracks, you feed the output from these tracks to a bus track and use the effect just once on this bus submix.

  • Why is it when you set a calender event in outlook 2010 (in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior) and have the iphone set to keep the appointment time relative to the local country time that you travelled to, the alarm time is still at uk time ?????

why is it when you set a calendar event in outlook 2010 (whilst i am in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior to the appointment time) and have the iPhone set to keep the appointment time relative to the new country time that i have travelled to (this works OK), the alarm time is still relative to the UK time and not in sync with the local country time like the main appointment is.
Does anyone know the answer please.

This has to do with the Time Zone Support selected in your phone. If you check in Settings>Mail, Contact, Calendars, there is a setting for Time Zone Support at the bottom of the page under Calendars. If that is turned to off, the calendar should support the local time. Because time is set to Automatic (since you say the time is correct on the iPhone), it is reflecting the local time. That information comes from the carrier, not the iPhone itself. You can check, however the iPhone says that if you turn off the Time Zone support, it should reflect in the local time. Do a test, if possible,  and see if that will do what you are asking.

  • Does AOL get your password when you set up video chat in Messages?

When you set up video chat in Messages you can use your iCloud email address/Apple ID if you select AIM as the chat service.  To complete the set up it asks you to enter your iCloud/Apple ID password.  By doing so, does AOL/AIM get to know your iCloud password?

    HI,
In Messages > Preferences > Accounts you can use the + button lower left under the list of account and Add the same Apple ID as an AIM account as you used for the iMessages account.
AS part of the workings of iChat 6 and Messages the app also logs in to an Apple Server as well as the AIM Server.
The dual Login is so AIM cannot 'read' the password unless you have an iCloud Issued @me.com or @iCloud.com  ID logged into the Apple Server as well.
This is a Pop up from Little Snitch checking if I will allow this Login to Apple.
@mac.com names from Apple, issued under the .Mac service and Paid for Accounts or as Trial Accounts or later during MobileMe as "iChat Names" are unaffected.
As you cannot recreate the Dual Login process here  you cannot use iCloud issued IDs on this AIM Page.
This does mean some Privacy settings are unavailable to you.
It also means if AIM "Suspend your account" (normally for "Unusual Activity") then changing your Password at Apple has no effect as they can't tell you have changed it.

  • How do you keep the colors of an image true when you set it as a background?

I have an image with lines in it and a black blackground. When I set it as a background :
    html {
        background: url(../Images/backgroundimage.jpg);
        background-repeat:auto;
        background-position:center top;
the black is a couple shades lighter so when I place a <div> with an <img>that is also mainly black on top of it, the top image is much darker than the background. I have no other css tags on the div other than a margin. The only difference in the images is I saved the background from photoshop and the image in the div from illustrator but I dont think that should have effected anything. Does anybody know anything about this because I am seriously stumped.
    Thanks

    We have been here before…
Firstly, Adobe' Photoshop has the ability to save a color profile with an image. That color profile will be consistent across all versions of Adobe software. Problem is, Adobe does not make web browsers (and that is probably a good thing).
When you save images for websites, you need to go through the proper Photoshop or Illustrator dialog. You want to Save for Web & Other Devices. Why? because the applications will take the image out of CMYK color space (if it is in that color space) and make it RGB. They will also try to translate the colors in a sensible way. When you use this dialog, you will see various options for JPG, including ICC Profile. Turning this on or off will change how the colors get mapped, and some experimentation to get best results is a good idea.
I have it turned off, presently.
The image will be set up for 72 dots per inch automatically, and you can, then, resize the image to optimize it for the website you are working on. If you are trying to fill a hole for an image that is 350 pixels wide by 250 tall, don't save the image as 1125 wide by 1024 high. That will take a long time to download from your server to whatever device is displaying it. Your original image will not be changed and you can navigate your path to your defined website's images folder.
This should help you immeasurably. I should mention that If I am trying to match a background exactly, I will tend to knock out that color from the image, save the image as a .PNG file with transparency (where that particular color is) and place the image on the background in question with the background color I am trying to match on the website.

  • What means the warning when you open mail app for ...

    Hi,
Anyone knows what does the text that appears in the screen when you open applications, like the mail client for the first time?
The text is the following (among other text):
"Nokia identifies your phone number, IMEI and network in order to provide you with a rich experience"
    What the h... means this?
In my first contact with the phone with "Nokia PC Suite" I found that it sends to Nokia servers the IMEI and other phone data (who knows what for). Does it menas that when you use the default mail cilent, it sends data to Nokia? What it does for? Because I wouldn't like at all that the application sends any data, anywhere, if I decide to use the application.
I don't know why there is no more information in any place, even support page, even the ... sad manual (that doesn't explain anything about a lot of options)...
    Thanks for any information, regards.

If you need a formal statement from Nokia, you have to contact your local Nokia Care because here (in all sections) we are an end-user-to-end-user discussion board.
Again, this is a code for Switzerland. Where are you located? Your local Nokia Care might offer to change the code for you. Although they might take a service charge.
I see, thanks for all your advices.
I'm in Spain, but, as I said, it is a second hand device (actually I'm the third hand). Maybe the first owner bought somewhere in Europe, maybe to Amazon.de (very popular place to buy from Spain as it is cheaper than Amazon.es, or before even existed Amazon.es that arrived to Spain only a year back or so; or maybe it was in holidays around Europe; at least, I don't know the exact origin of the device).
Indeed one thing different is that the paper manuals comming in the box aren't in spanish, they are in german, french and italian (all surrounding Switzerland, indeed).
About the last phrase, I think I won't hassle myself in pay for a change of the product code and be able to update. That, by the way, the nearest Nokia Care is quite far from my place and if  I choose doing by any kind of RMA, the ultra-expensive delivery costs in Spain, don't make me feel like doing either.
Said this, thanks for all your advices again
I'll end testing for myself if the mail application does "what it shouldn't do", and I'll decide if use it or not. Probably not, but I'll just test to see with my eyes
    Thanks, regards.

  • How do you set up a default Date To based on Date From for report parameter

I'm working on a report. I have been asked to set up a default Date To based on Date From for the report parameters. I mean when running a report, if an end user selects a value for parameter Date From, system will automatically populate the Date To parameter based on the Date From + 6 days.
I guess there's gotta be something to do with Value Set. Do any of you guys know how to go about this?
    Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Dennis

You should be able to retrieve the value of other valueset using :$FLEX$.<valuesetname> I'm not sure about the exact syntax, it's been a while since i worked with applications.

  • When you sync your phone does data go from phone to pc or pc to phone

Good morning, when you sync your iphone4, is the phone uploading to the pc or is the pc downloading to the phone?  What is the overriding situation?  Also, can you delete unwanted phot folders from the phone or do you have to try to "restore" phone to factory settings and start again or will this even work?  I am always guessing when I sync because I am never sure which way it is going.  Thanks for any help.

I thought I tried the uncheck/check but maybe I didn't so I will give that a try.  It is actually my friends phone (I try stuff on mine but I was hesitant on someone else's phone) so I will try that when I visit them again next week.  Thank you, I will let you know if I am successful.

  • Mail doesn't show a new mail icon when you set up rules

I've just transfered over to Mail from entourage and love it, apart from one thing.
I set up rules so all my emails go into folders ie work, friends and now when I get a new email which goes into one of these folders I don't get the little red circle on the mail application icon in my dock.
I do however get it when a mail comes in which isn't part of my rules and goes into my inbox, normally someone who I'm not waiting for an email.
It's not the end of the world but does mean if I forget to check my emails I might miss something important.
    Any ideas?

I'm now able to see when i've got new emails after your pointer. It is however telling me I have 10 new mails which aren't there?
Do you know why it would do this, I thought perhaps it was thinking a draft was an email but i've only got 3 in there not 10.
    Thanks

  • When you set up a windows os on the bootcamp partition, do you have to treat the computer like a pc with all the maintenance proceedures, like defrag, antivirus and malware software?

When setting up Windows 7 OS on a partition through bootcamp, do you then need to treat it like a PC?  Are the same precautions necessary to run an optimal system using proceedures like defrag, disk clean up, and runinig antivirus and malware programs now necessary?

It is (once installed) Windows, and needs to be treated like any other copy of Windows on any other machine.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials for anti virus, defrag and cleanup is up to you, it is not necessary but may be desirable now and again. Anti Virus is not optional.

  • Does Find My Friends notify friend when you set up a geofence alert on them?

If I selected to be notified when my friend leaves a location, do they also recieve any sort of notification or push that I set up the alert on them? Or when they leave the location?

Your questions are asking whether the person being located is being NOTIFIED. The answer depends on your definition what a notification is, but the short answer is NO.
The device being located does not display any notifications: banner, alert, badge or otherwise.
The device does not receive a text or iMessage alert.
When an app is using Location Services, a solid location services icon is diplayed next to the time at the top. This includes Find My Friends' attempts to provide the device's location to the service.
Please see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4487 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4008 for more information on Find My Friends and Troubleshooing Find My Friends.
*Solid location services icon is the small arrow icon. This is different from the outline of the arrow meaning an app will be triggered when a location or 'geofence' is entered or exited.

  • Hi, with mix16 pro app, can anyone tell me when you set different audio levels for different tracks, does the app remember the level set the next time you use it?  Or does it default to the original setting when you power down after a show?  Thanks!

    Hi
I use backing tracks for some songs with a live band and we are having some issues with levels.  Some are higher than others etc.  I use i pad to run the tracks.  I am looking for an app that where I can control the levels better.  Ideally, an app where I can set the level of each track to a desired level and leave it at that level for good.  Mix16 Pro  seems to do that but I wonder does it save the setting as I do not want to set the levels every time I use it.
    Thanks

I have just set up an Airport express for my home and now dant send or receive emails. Do the settings need changing?

Setting up a wireless router, in itself, should have no effect on your ability to access email. Is the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) the only router in your current network configuration? That is, does it connect directly to an Internet modem by Ethernet? ... or does the Express connect to another router that is directly connected to the modem?
