E71 - No WLAN Network Found Problem

Hi,
I have been using my Nokia E71 from 3 network for 3 months without any problem, my phone connects to Wireless network at my home and browse in internet will full speed.
I have been installing some software, after which problem started, my phone search for wireless network and says "No WLAN Network found".
I tired soft reset, hard reset and even I resintalled phone software through Nokia software update but still this problem not resolved.
If anyone faced this same problem and found solution, can you please share the procedure to fix this WLAN network problem in this topic.
Thanks,
Maha

I too get a similar problem.
It was OK up until recently, at home. But for some strange reason - when I connect to the internet via my access point, it sometimes doesn't find it, or says no WLAN found, even though the router is in the room directly upstairs.
However the iPod Touch I have also gets a similar problem, and a weak signal in some places, the router was on top of my Aluminum Desktop PC so I thought it could be that, having moved it, it made no difference.
I have a NETGEAR DGN2000 wireless draft-N modem/router. I think it could be the "Draft-N" that could be causing the problem. Although I have not fully ruled out the handset, and it could be the latest firmware. For me I have not bottomed this out, either to the phone or router, but am inclined to think its more the router.
If yours is a draft-N router it might be worth switching it to 802.11b/g mode only and try that. I shall try when my new E72 arrives next week

  • E52: WLAN network found

I started having this issue when I have updated to 022.009. My E52 would say WLAN network found even when there are no WLAN networks detected. It would only show Hidden WLAN in the scanned networks. I am certain that there are no WLAN networks around when I experimented on it. Anyone having this same glitch?

  • E61i "No WLAN Network Found"

OK, so I bought this E61i at the beginning of November and for the first month it was great. I was amazed at how easy it was to connect to home WLAN and any other open WLAN for that matter.
Then for no reason one day it says "No WLAN network found". I've made no changes to my home network and I know its working because both my laptop and desktop operate on WLAN.
I tried using the connection wizard several times to set up a connection but got the same results "No WLAN network found".
So then I called Nokia support. They asked what version of firmware I had. According to the person on the phone I was up to date but he had me download and install it again. This did not fix the problem still "No WLAN network found".
So I called back and explained the situation and I was told that there must be something wrong with my phone and that I should send it in for warranty repair. So I send the phone to the Nokia repair place somewhere is Alabama.
After about two weeks I get the phone back with a repair slip saying that the phone has been repaired by updating the firmware (which by the way I had already done). Of course when I tested the phone I get the same results "No WLAN Network Found".
So I called Nokia Support (which at this point is a contradiction in terms as they were of very little help) and was told to return the phone to Nokia warranty repair so that it could be brought to the Quality Assurance Managers attention.
I have to say that this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. I mean I have to send the thing at my expense (not cheap by the way) and now I have to send it back again.
What could be causing the phone to not detect any WLAN? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Up to this point nobody has been able to help. I've decided to send it back to Nokia and give them another shot at fixing the phone. I really have no other choice.
I bought the phone at TigerDirect.com and they have an agreement with Nokia that they don't do exchanges. They will only send the phone off for repair within the first 30 days. After that, I'm on my own. Since the phone didn't start acting up until after the 30 day mark I'm out of luck there.
I'm really not happy about sending the phone back to Nokia again as they didn't fix it the first time. So, My confidence level in them is much less than ideal.
I just have this sinking feeling that I may be doing something wrong with the phone (setting-wise) that started this whole mess in the first place, and that it's something simple. I just don't know what it is and noone has been able to help. Not even Nokia support. It's frustrating! I can't help but think that I might have been better off with my second choice the HTC Touch.

  • No wlan network found "E72"

    Hi,
I purchased a new E72 two days ago .. And tested more than once Internet access from my wireless connection and it works well .. But suddenly I found this message "No WLAN Network found", Although the wireless device is working well when I want to access the internet through my laptop
    plz help me ,

Sometimes this happen to my E72 as well, and I try after few seconds and then it comes and work well.

  • N95 satnav: "No WLAN network found"

What does this message mean, which pops up when I am trying to use the satnav (satnav won't work if this message appears).
If I select 'OK' to this message; the following message appears: "No internet connection. Please check your Network settings". What does this message mean and how do I do that?

You know I have the same problem with this handset but can I get anyone to take ownership for the fault? Can I heck!
First I blamed the sat nav manufacturer, then the network and more and more investigation seems to point at the handset manufacturer. I have noted that when I get this problem my handeset acts up. Let me tell!
I boot my N95 up from powered off and it works fine with Sat Nav traffic services.
Get to my destination and switch off Sat nav and walk away. If the N95 rings when I answer the call I then find that I have to choose "options", "handset" to take the call. The N95 has not dropped the Bluetooth connection and a headset icon is displayed on display. If I dont take a call and then return to the car my traffic services no longer work and I too get the same messages such as Wirelss connection not available. The only way I have found to fix this is to power down the N95 for fifteen minutes and then try again. This usually works until I end my journey and have the same problem again. I have upgraded the firmware on the handset and sat nav to the latest versions but still not fixed. I had a similar fault with the 6280 prior to upgrade. Is this a fault in general with Nokia bluetooth services? Anyone got ananswer?

  • N91 No WLAN network found

    Good day sir / madam,
I'm having a problem with my N91's WLAN, here's my problem.
On "Connection manager>Available WLAN" menu will appear the SSID of my Wireless-N router and then will dissappaer after a few seconds, even I'm just beside the my wireless router, but if I make an adhoc connection, from a computer, the adhoc's connection name will stay there in the "Connection manager>Available WLAN" menu as long as it is active, then I have to restart my N91 to see the wireless router's SSID again on "Available WLAN" but surely it won't stay there, so I can't establish a connection between my wireless router to my N91
I hope you can help me with this problem,
    Thank you.
    [email protected]

Configured your wireless-N router to do only B2/G not N or auto specs. Its(N91) trying to negotiate for stable speed but can't. You don't have to be beside it, the strongest signal is halfway the max specs.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • 5800 XM WPA-PSK and network profiles problem

    Hi,
I've just purchased a 5800XM phone, with the idea of setting up my personal email account on the device, using my office's network access point.
The access point / router is a Comtrend 5361. The SSID is set to hidden (no broadcast), and the security is set to WPA-PSK (pre-shared key).
On the Nokia phone I go to 'Settings -> Connectivity -> Wireless LAN' and choose 'Other (hidden netw.)'.
Then I choose 'Connect', set the WLAN network name, the phone shows a message 'No WLAN network found', but then prompts to choose network mode (Infrastructure - Hidden),  and then password. It connects succesfully and asks for storing the network profile under offline mode, I tell it to do so, and the new profile appears under 'Network destinations -> Internet'. So until now everything seems ok.
The problem is that after the phone disconnects from the internet, the stored profile seems to be useless, since the phone never connects automatically even if the AP is available and always shows 'Search for WLAN'. In the list the hidden access point never shows up so the only choice is repeating the steps that I mentioned above, creating a new profile every time I want to surt the net.
Is there a solution to this, or a third party software that can do the trick?, I have OS V21.0.25, custom version 21.0.025.219.06 from Vodafone, no updates available as of today, but I've tested it with a phone that has the latest OS v30 and it shows the same behavior.
I can't change the access point settings, so I must stick to WPA and hidden SSID, so for me this is almost a deal breaker.

Ok, I was testing the wifi part without a sim card inserted, with a sim, the phone connects to the profile properly, but without the sim it has an odd behavior, not loading the profile and wrongly stating that it can't connect when it does (but disconnects randomly).
So the problem is that wireless lan management doesn't work properly without a sim card.

  • 'Select WLAN Network' every time I boot! Grr.

I can't wait to get rid of my Nokia E71 - the most infuriating, badly designed, buggy piece of technology ever 'created' (more like shoved into existence).  In the meantime I am stuck with it on contract, and have one (well 15) particularly annoying bug:
Every time it boots, it says 'Select WLAN Network'.  Of course the geniuses at Nokia do not tell you what application is requesting this, or why, and no matter how many times I select my home network, and enter the WPA key (which is already saved as the default access point anyway as well as already being connected via VoIP), it asks me again and again every time I reboot.
If I am out of WLAN (it's called Wi-Fi Nokia BTW) range, it gives a 'No WLAN Network Found' error on boot instead, and forces me to press OK.  Absolutely waste of time.
Can you advise how to remove this one-aggravating-annoyance-too-many-feature please?
If I email Nokia support, they just tell me to take my phone to my nearest service centre.  I will do one day, and shove it up their ~~~TRANSMISSION ENDS

What provider are you under contract with?  As my E71 certainly does NOT do what you describe.  I have seen on these forums that the provider 3 (or someone else) has custom firmware that apparently attaches to the network all the time for some reason.  The posts I have read so far do not mention anything happening like yours so I am unsure what is going on.

  • Wifi problem - No network found

Yesterday i got my laptop screen repaired from apple store. I have no idea why my laptop cant look for any wifi now, no wifi appear on my list after i turned the wifi on and i have tried to join the network again but it stated that no network found, so how can i solve this problem? Thanks

Did the problem occur immeadiatley after the upgrade? If it did it could be a factor but if not then the siganl in your room is probably poor, perhaps not in signal strength but in quality. This can be due to other wifi networks on or near the channels you require or other devices that use the same frequency i.e.Bluetooth, video senders baby alarms etc.
Get the computer to connect to the network and use one of the WiFi programs in the app store to analyse the signal. You could use the utulity built in to OS X but I found that some of the ones in the app store are a bit easier to understand.

  • Can`t delete WLAN Networks (Nokia E52)

Hello! I tried to connect to a wlan network (Name) and entered a wrong wep key. After i found out how to change the wep key i realised that i had more networks (Name01, Name02). I still can`t connect to my initial network as the wep key is still incorrect but i can connect to 01 and 02. I would like to delete Name and Name01 networks from my list. How can i do that? I couldn`t delete them from Menu - Ctrl. panel - Connectivity - WLAN wiz.
My phone is an E52, thanks!

I have the same problem - I used a wireless range extender - and my phone kept finding new versions of my network - named (01) - (17), I could never connect. I turned of the extender now it works fine - but I still have 17 versions of my network - I did not enter them myself. I also have a number of old networks - which are no longer relevant - How du you delete them?????

Same To me. I have Asus WL-500W router at home, WPA2-PSK(AES), password similar to this "lIGf@91pY0TnFY!Jh@7LjTUlsL3ZPY", MAC address filtering. My old Nokia E51 works, my Touch Pro Works with it. When i try my one day old Nokia E72 it does not work, the same like others:WLAN: Unable to connect. Wlan Network not Found. E72 works at my work wifi, which has the same settings but without mac filtering. Have no idea what is happening, all is setting correctly. MAC address of E72 is allowed on router. It has the same settings like E51, but E51 works like a charm E72 does not work. What is wrong?
As already suggested, you could try disabling the MAC filtering from the router, just to outrule possibility of a typo while entering E72's MAC address to router settings.
Have you tried swithing a WLAN channel that your router uses?
Log in to your router's web management pages (check router's default IP address and username/password from it's manual) and switch of the "Automatic" channel selection mode. Try few different channels, like 1, 3, 6, 9, 11, if one of the channels happens to work any better. Note that in case you have set your router to use channels 12 or 13 (or in case "Automatic" channel selection mode has decided to select channel 12 or 13) you must have a SIM card inserted and some other than "Offline" profile enabled on your phone since Offline mode (i.e. airplane / flight mode) won't allow your phone to operate on higher channels than 11.
In case you have configured your WLAN network (SSID) to be "hidden", try disabling hidden SSID mode on the router.
Asus WL-500W router seems to be a pre-standard 802.11n device so might be worth looking in to your router's WLAN settings and see if playing around with router's WLAN operating mode and settings improve the situation. First of all ensure that your router is not set to operate in 20/40MHz mode (set it to 20MHz only) assuming that the router is in default 802.11b/g/n mode. You could also try disabling the 802.11n mode completely by selecting a 802.11b/g mode (if available).
You should probably also check that you're running latest (2.0.0.6 ??) firmware version on your Asus WL-500W router since there seems to plenty of complaints regarding WLAN connectivity and stability issues (in general, not specific to Nokia handsets) with this particular router model.

  • NOKIA N8 - Unable to connect - WLAN Network not fo...

also for NOKIA N8 THE SAME PROBLEM: Unable to connect - WLAN Network not found;I see my network in the wlan list (Tthe state is "knowed") but when i try to connect to it,i read: Unable to connect-wlan network not found;i tryed with: mac filter on/off,dhcp on/of,wep protection on/off,firewall router on/off,power saving in the phone on/off, but the problem is the same ever!..Niklas Savander,..where you are?..nokia is back?..but with the same problems!

Well, I seem to have issues with WLAN as well.
When I am approx. 10metres away from my Router, the N8 doesn't connect. However, I can connect to WLAN using my Nokia N900, Nokia E52 and my Netbook (Asus EEE1005HA). This is a N-router with standard settings. I have tried changing, the channels etc. but it doesn't resolve the problem.
So is this a problem with the Nokia N8? I mean, all my other wireless devices work fine. I even tried changing the Wireless Interface type from N/B/G, to B/G but as I said before, the problem is still there.
Hopefully this problem can be sorted with a software update, that is if the N8 finds it difficult to connect to Wireless Internet.
P.S.: Tthere is another thread reporting similar problems. Here is the link.

  • E71 on Wlan

Hi i just have bought a e71, at work i can connect to my Wlan, but at home at my Apple Airport NOT , i have tried all setting, WPA WPA2 WEB open
but always give me WEP key incorrect
al my other devices are working fine
can someone help me with this BIG problem
i'm also looking for software thats connect to every Wlan network, so first look if there are known networks available en connect to the network and if not makes the connection trough UMTS
    Is there something like this
    Tnx John

I don't know if this helps to debug the issue.  I tried all the stuff mentioned in several forums.
My wifi (3Com router) is connected but Nokia browser, MFE and Google Maps don't work with the connection (same gateway  problem). However Skyfire works fine with the same connection.
I suspect there is some serious problem with E71's apps while using the wifi connection.
In India mobile data plans are exorbitant and without Wifi connection this phone becomes useless for me.
After 1 week I am fed up with my E71 and am buying a new phone - In India Nokia doesn't have return policy too :-(

  • Work around for server not found problems on FF36

I have found a work around for all the people having server not found problems with FF36.
If you manually set your network adapter DNS to an external DNS server (as opposed to your local ISP) then the problem goes away. I set mine to use the two google DNS servers:
    Preferred: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate: 8.8.4.4
Not a clue why this works but it is 100% successful on my desktop PC, whereas before I could hardly connect to a webpage with FF36 without multiple page refreshes and much frustration, even though FF35 was fine and rolling back to FF35 was also fine.
Something has changed in FF36 and either the way it handles DNS or the way it works with some network adapters.
It is nothing to do with add-ons, profiles or firewall software as I have tried all of these things and only the DNS change made a difference. I even copied over a full working profile and the program files directory for Mozilla from my portable which was having no problems and the problem still existed on the desktop, which is why I started looking at the network adapater since everything else between the working PC and the non working one was identical.
Hopefully this will help the developers to pin down the real cause of the problem and fix it in the next release.

Well done. Thanks for finding that.
That is not only assigned but has an approved patch included in the scheduled Fx36.0.1 release so it should be fixed in few days, watch out for the upgrade.
    * Bug 1093983 - DNS resolver should not use 'ANY' to get cached records for TTL [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1093983#c35 c#35]
    * https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Channels/Meetings/2015-03-03#Schedule_Update
With the bug now fixed it would not really be appropriate to add further comment. I do now see another related bug assigned but not being fast tracked, so if all goes well that will probably land in Firefox 39.
    * Bug 1138242 - DNS: Request A and AAAA record types rather than ANY when obtaining TTL on Windows
