E71 sending multimedia video clips larger than 300...

Hi.  I have some awesome clips that I'm trying to send to my friends and and family but I'm unable to send them via multimedia because they are too large.  I tried to send them as an attachment via email but it just sits in my que for months not going any where.  Can any help with this?
Thanks;

Re: Size Limit on EMAILED video - iPhone 4     Jun 30, 2010 2:22 PM    (in response to darkfire.shadows)
the file size has nothing to do with it according to apple advisor I spoke to at support. We has concluded that the iOS4 limits video clips that can emailed to 54 seconds long. No matter the size of the file. take a 720p video and and export your imovie at the highest quality then try to email it. Mail will trim the clip to 54 seconds every time regardless of file size or length. As long as your video is 54 seconds or shorter, mail will not ask you to cut the video down to be emailed or sent to mobile me. the guy I spoke to at apple support has sent a letter to apple engineers about this issue and is going to call me back in a few days about it so I will post whatever answers I get. I emailed myself a video done with imovie app and it was 107mb but was exactly 53 seconds long, and it went through without asking me to cut it. I went back and changed one transition to 2 seconds longer making the video 55 seconds and it had to be cut. After cutting the video and emailing it to myself it showed up as 54 seconds long and 105 MB.

  • How do I send attachments larger than 300 kB with Mail?

When I installed OS 10.2 on my 333 MHz iMac last year, I switched all my e-mail usage over from Outlook Express to Mail. However, now I can't send or forward attachments any larger than about 300 kB. I've looked in System Preferences, and in Mail's Preferences, but don't see any setting that limits the size of attachments. My ISP allows sending and receiving of attachments up to 15 MB. I can receive large attachments (e.g. photos). I never had this limitation using Outlook.
So what's the problem here? Can anyone help me?
(By the way, I've run into the same limitation when trying to send attachments or upload files using Safari, Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger.)

Today I phoned my ISP's technical support line. They were able to make some changes or adjustments on my ADSL, and now I can send larger e-mails. Seemingly, the line was too slow and Mail was timing out.
I've send a 1M attachment successfully. Will now test Safari and Messenger, to see if all's well there too.

  • My MBP has started to send out TCP packets larger than the MTU on the NIC - is there any place that this can be overriden?

Got a very weird issue here and wondering if anyone has any other ideas. Basically over the wired NIC only, my Mac has started to send out large HTTP/HTTPS packets from the browser (> 1500 bytes) Captures show packet sizes from 2000 all the way to 4000 sometimes. This happens in Firefox and Chrome so doesn't appear to be application related.
This causes fragmentation issues and traffic drops which basically causes most of my websites and  tools to crash and burn (and I get all sorts of SSL errors from applications, etc).
It appears to be limited to just TCP packets as pings with the DF bit set will not send any larger than 1500 bytes.
However if I switch to wireless, everything works fine and captures show the correct maximum packet size of 1500 for all packets leaving my client.
The MTU on the  en0 interface is 1500 as per ifconfig and I made sure that it was set to 1500 in Network config panel (because there is an option for jumbo frames there which bumps up the MTU).
A packet capture also shows that during the three way handshake the TCP MSS is successfully sent and negotiated as 1480, but then it appears to ignore that when sending packets later in the TCP stream.
I've rebooted, upgraded to 10.7.4, checked the "sysctl" outputs and matched against a Mac not having the issue.
This is the newest MBP 15 inch model.
Any other ideas on things to check?

Have you used any sort of "tuner" software? You are obviously an advanced user. Sometimes we hack things up and forget about it later. If you are sure you didn't do that, maybe poke around with IPv6 settings. Supposedly people are trying to enable that and it is going to be a disaster.

  • Can you import Video Frames to Layers if your video is larger than 1280x720?

I can import a video that is 1280x720 or smaller to layers, but can't import one larger than that or Photoshop freezes up. and then has to be force quit.  when i reopen it after force quiting, it immediately crashes and then when i reopen it and try to import any video in any way it gives me the error message "Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available."

  • Why is iphoto not allowing to send small video clip in email

Would it be an other way to send it , so far I havn't found a place beside iphoto to save pics & video  tks

Select the video clip you want to send from iPhoto, then go to the File menu and choose Reveal in Finder > Original File. The movie file will be then shown in a Finder window. At this point, you can use the Share button in the Finder Toolbar to send the clip to a new Mail message, or you can control (right-)-click on the movie file and choose Share > Mail from the contextual menu which will also attach the clip to a new Mail message.

  • No thumbnails in organizer 12 for any video file larger than 3,1 mb

I am running premiere Elements 12
    Quicktime 7.7.5
    Windows 7 service pack 1
Organizer will not show (or update) thumbnails from video files (.mts and .m4p) when file sizes are over 3.1 mb.
Organizer will play all the files. Element shows thumbnails and plays  all the files.
Importing the files in the organizer or directly in Elements does not make a difference on the 'not showing' of the thumbnails.
MTS files are container for 1080i Pal (Sony AVCHD)
m4p files are are container for NTSC
Thumbnails for both files are not shown
Thumnails of files with very small file size for both formats are shown when the file size is less than 3,1 mb.
I found out about the file sizes when I check the metadata of the clips.
Anybody any Idea om what I should adjust to see all the thumbnails?
    Thanks GN

Just a longer add on to my post numbered 1.
What is the hard drive save location for your AVCHD.mp4 and AVCHD.mts files? If external hard drive, how is it formatted...NTFS or FAT32?
Also, what is the model of the Panasonic that is giving you the AVCHD.mts (assumed 1920 x 1080i25)? And what is the brand/model/settings for the camera that is giving you the AVCHD.mp4 (1080i30 or 1080p30 or other)?
It is the factor of file size that you describe for your issue that has me wondering if more than video codec is involved in your particular case.
Also, please clarify...three megabytes or thirty one megabytes? That looks like a comma in your "3,1 mb".

  • People not getting error message when sending to a group larger than they are alowed to.

    Hi everyone,
I'm administrating a hosted exchange environment where we limit the mailboxes to 50 recipients per sent mail as can be seen here:
However, if someone tries to send a message that has more recipients than the number specified in the restriction, they don't get an error message from the server informing them that they exceeded the allowed number of recipents nor do they get an NDR message
informing them that the recipient didn't recieve the message - is there a way to make sure they get either of the two?

    Hi ,
In your case , If the recipient count is more than 50 recipients then the sender will be getting the reply from Microsoft exchange recipient saying that "Remote Server returned '550 5.5.3 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipLimit; too many recipients".
But in your case you didn't get that message .so there are only two ways to find that.
1.Please do the message tracking with the sender as Microsoft exchange recipient and the recipient as the sender address .So that we came to know whether that generated email has been delivered to the sender's mailbox.
2.In case if the track shows that the NDR was delivered then the final option is to check the is there any rules on the mailbox  is removing such kind of messages or else it would be moved to some other folders in the mailbox.
3.Another option is to ensure that those NDR messages are not blocked up by the third parties agents installed on the transport servers ?
4.Please check those NDR emails in junk mails folder too. By default exchange will not move those NDR emails to junk folder.
5.Moreover please tell me is this issue is happening for all the mailboxes or else in only one mailbox ?
6.Then tell me that the sent mail with more than 50 recipients got delivered to the recipients ?
7.Have you tried your testings in owa ?
8.Have you reset the recipient restriction on the senders mailbox and give it again for testing ?
Note : Below is the command to find out the Microsoft exchange recipient address
    Get-OrganizationConfig | fl *MicrosoftExchangeRecipientPrimarySmtpAddress*

  • Compressor setting so it won't output a video larger than source?

    Hello.
I am sending a whole library of videos (most Apple ProRes, but varrying video dimensions based on the project) through Compressor 4 and I'm having an issue where, for some of the videos (with smaller video dimensions), the settings I'm choosing result in the transcoded videos being larger (in terms of dimensions) than the source (ie. if the source is 720p, the resulting video is 1080p).
I am using the following two settings:
    - HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)
    - HD 1080p for Video Sharing
Example 1 - I fed a 640 x 360 (Apple ProRes) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)" preset. The resulting transcoded video was larger than 640 x 360 (I can't remember the actual size anymore, sorry). There is no option available, that I can see, to modify the preset to NOT create a file larger than the source?
Example 2 - I fed a 720p (Apple Animation) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD 1080p for Video Sharing" preset. The resulting transcoded video was 1080p. I though because the preset is marked "Up to 1920 x 1080" it wouldn't go beyond 1080p (ie. scale down anything larger to 1080p), but also thought that it would maintain the source dimensions and not enlarge a 720p source to 1080p?
Maybe this is how Compressor is supposed to work (ie. making resulting videos larger than source), but I'm hoping there's a way to modify the presets to not do this "ie. an option to not create a video with dimensions larger than the source)? Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

Apple devices have a standard frame size they encode to, so yes, this is how it works.

    hey,
what is the easiest way for me to send a video clip to someone via email. In quicktime & FCut the file is HUGE around 1000 mb, I have compressed it using compressor to H.264 but it is still 22 mb and on the email the video viewer is sooo small like a thumbnail.
So what is the best format to use so I can send it but it is an ok size for the recipient?
    cheers.

  • Sending video clips from 6235

I am trying to send some video clips from my 6235 to my home email address and it keeps saying that the maximum messages size is exceeded. Is there anyway that I can get around this problem or even edit the video clips if possible???
    Some one help please.....

The 300kb limit is set by your network operator and cannot be changed.
Only short clips (around 10 seconds max) at medium to low quality can be sent using mms.
You may be able to send longer clips using email but that depends on your networks email/data policy.

  • Sending an audio or video clip

Can I use my current software, such as Face Time or iChat to make and send a video clip or audio clip as an attachment with e-mail?  I know this can be done (as an audio clip) with voice memos from my iPhone in conjunction with iTunes. Do I have to go through the process of video recording and downloading, then attaching the file, etc.? Can this process be simplified and more direct or do I have to purchase additional software to accomplish this?

Select the clips and use Modify>Levels. Or the keyboard Control-brackets to go up and down.
For your transition issue you need to do this

  • Sending video clip to Windows XP

I am trying to send Quicktime video clips to my daughter who is at college. She has a laptop running Windows XP. When she attempts to play the video clips she on hears the audio without the video. I have Quicktime Pro and would like to convert the video clips to something more generic to her system which I am sure has the Windows Media Player. What would be the best format to send to her?

You've probably used the new H.264 video codec. All that is needed is for your daughter to upgrade (free) to QuickTime 7 for Windows.
You can confirm the H.264 use by opening the file in QuickTime and look at the Movie Info window.
Converting the .mov format to Microsoft Media Player will cost you money. QuickTime can't export to .wmv with some third party software help. No one with a kid in college needs to spend extra money.

    Hi
*Play all resp one chapter at a time*
    Play All Button
    1. There are NO - Play All - button in any version of iDVD
    2. It can be faked in several ways
    • Easies and most fault proof way is to make a doublet movie containing All and with
Chapters set to match. It will take up x2 space but is easy to understand and produce.
    • It's said that one can put all movies into a Photo/SlideShow and this will also
give the function of a Play All button - Never tested though.
    • Using another program to do this eg. Roxio Toast™ where there ia a Play All button option.
    Mike Evangelist1
You might be able to get close to what you want by using a slideshow in iDVD. (It's not widely known, but you can put videos in a slideshow.) If you set the slide duration to manual, playback will pause after each movie/slide, and you can continue with the 'next' button.

  • Procedure and Format for emailing a short video clip from iMovie 08

I use one of the new Panasonic HiDef AVCHD digital video cameras. iMovie 08 works great, no complaints there. From time to time I would like to email very short (5-20 second) video clips, rather than putting them up on iWeb, YouTube, etc.
There are so many "sharing" options, and I haven't had much luck with emailing these short clips. Many of the recipients are Windows users, so I'm not sure QuickTime is the answer. What is the best way to email short video clips from iMovie 08?

What is the best way to email short video clips from iMovie 08?
Assuming you and your recipients' mail clients all allow attachments up to 10 MBs, then a 20-second clip can have a combined data rate of up to 500 KB/s (4.0Mbit/s). This means you can use any share/export compressions format option available to you from within iMovie '08. Therefore, the real question becomes, what compression formats can your recipients play. Have you tried asking them to see if there is a single compression format that everyone can play? If no QT compression format is compatible everyone, then you will likely have to perform a secondary conversion to one that will be compatible. H.264/AAC would provide the smallest files for a given level of quality but require QT 7 (or similar multi-media player). MPEG4/AAC would probably be the most compatible format you can export directly from within iMovie '08. (Would have recommended Sorenson 3/IMA but data rate limitation appears to be ignored.) MPEG-1 files can probably be played by everyone but have higher data rate requirements which may restrict files to SD dimensions and require additional software to create external to iMovie '08. DivX or WMV would probably make your Windows users happy but requires Mac users to have a compatible component for viewing in the QT Player.
Try the "Export using QuickTime" Share menu option ("Movie to MPEG-4") settings:
    Video
    MP4 File Type
    MPEG-4 Improved Compressor
Data rate in the range from 1,000 (640x480) to 3800 (near HD dimensions)
    Current (or user specified) dimensions
    Current Frame Rate
    Key Frame every 24 frames
    Audio:
    AAC-LC Music
    Mono
    64 Kbps Data Rate
    44.1 KHz Sampling Rate
    Better Quality

  • Sorting video clips in iPhoto 09

    Hi all,
I have just returned from vacation and imported my entire camera memory card which contained both photos and video.
Is there any way I can sort the view to display just the video clips rather than scrolling through over 500 photos in the event created?
    Many thanks in advance

Many thanks Terence - this worked great.
    I used:
    Photo > is > Movie.
Would I be able to sort the videos by event rather than ALL videos that have been imported?
I did see a Smart Album drop down option for Event but it did not give any rule options for Movie.
    Any ideas?
