E71 - system error

Hello,
I'm receiving system error message when my wi-fi connection is established. Today, this system error message appeared after I tried to close the web browser.
The only thing I can do is to switch off the phone, it's ok when it turns on.
Am I the only one with such problems?
Any advices?
Thank you!
E71-1: RM-346, 100.07.76, 08-06-2008

Hi,
I was not able to use WLAN for OVI as it was connecting via o2 active by default.
- I tried deleting the available access points of o2 active from Setting-Connections-Accesspoint.
- The O2 access point were not deleted and moreover now it is showing me as System Error! and not allowing any operation to perform.
I have to take my battery out and replug again.
But if I again try removing the O2 active access point, getting the same E71 error and not allowing to perform any operation.
pls help.
Regards.

  • E71 system error with meeting entry

Hello everyone, I just bought my E71 and I have the following problem: when I try to add a meeting, after i do "done" it gives me:system error.
when I try to insert a "to do" or memo, it works fine but when I write a meeting I have this error.
I tried to add a meeting on outlook and then I syncronized, after this I have a "to do" or task on my phone and not a meeting.
    The sync works fine.
Thanks a lot for your support.

Thanks for the info. After many redundant backups and original setting realoadings I managed by trial and error to work out that the error is caused by the backup utility whenever you backup calender or todo notes.
So I fixed it by making a full backup of my phone, but excluding calender and todo notes. Then I reset to original settings, and loaded the backup. Works fine now.
Its a bit of a hack that the backup utility cannot restore calender entries correctly...

  • Mail for Exchange on E71 - system error please try...

Can anyone help me please.  I have been running MfE on my E71 and others at work successfully for years with our Exchange server 2003.  Just recently and it would seem to be when we go out of a roaming area MfE comes up with the error message "system error please try again later".  The only solution that I have found is to restore the last backup I made on my PC using PCSuite and then it works OK for another couple of days.  Has anyone else had this experience and knows of a fix?

    Hi,
I am having this same issue.
I have deleted everything and redone the account, still same issue.
I have two E71's infront of me, both on the same network, both same contract, both same settings.
One says Idle, the other connected.
    Blasted phones.

  • E71 System error. try again later with MFE 2.7; wo...

    Hi,
I'm really desperate with MFE 2.7 on my E71. It has the 100.07.76 firmware. I'm getting system error, try again later when it tries to syncrhonise messages. I've not been able to connect at all to the server.
I've done the same on my N95 with MFE 2.7 with the same settings for connecting to the same exchange server and it works without any problems.
The exchange server seems to use a wildcard cert and it works fine on the N95.
How can i get this to work on the E71 ?
    Thanks
    Thierry.

Oh yeah, about the initial question:
Try updating your MfE to 2.9.x version which can be downloaded here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/mail-for-exchange
And also update your phone SW to the latest if possible:

  • E71 system error when trying to save new calendar ...

Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening. Every time I try to save a new calendar memo it fails and just comes up with an error saying System Error.
    Help please????
    Lindsay

I've been trying for some months to get CALENDAR om the Nokia E71 to accept memos,Meetings, etc without getting SYSTEM ERROR message. I've tried backing up data, re-setting phone, re-loading some adat, re-loading all data, etc.
I've now worked out the solution.
Get a new phone, but not a Nokia.
The customer service is lamentable. This error is a basic progrmming error. The fix should take any reputable software programmer 10 minutes to sort out. BUT, it seems that Nokia, having had the punter's money, have moved on to the next release.
On checking the www, it seems that this problem has been around for years, with no known resolution.
This is my first and last posting on this forum.

  • E71 MfE error

Hi I have a Nokia E71 with Mail for Exchange v 2.07 to connect to my business exchange account. This has been working ok, but recently I have started to get an error message with synchronising. "Calendar syncing error - Contact Admistrator." In the MfE logs files, there is an error message "Out of Memory". I have checked on the device and there seems to plenty free: 92 Mb Free 27 Mb In Use 579 kB Calendar. I have looked at the MfE log files and see the following Mail for Exch. Build : 2.07.000 Device Software Version: 210.21.006 02-0 Device Model: E71 System Error: -KErrNoMemory Does anone know what this error means, or what can be done to clear it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have had this in the past, what seems to be happening is that one of the calendar entries is corrupted and this is causing the sync to fail.
Apparantly this is fixed in the latest version of MfE but I wouldn't recommend the update as it has its own more critical problems.
The work around that I have used is:
Back up before you start - this involves deleting content!
    1. Enter the MfE application and in the Sync Content option switch off the Calendar sync
    2. Change the Date in the Phone to a date way into the future, say 20 May 2015
    3. Go to the Calendar and use the Delete function to Delete all Entries Before date - because the Date is set as 2015 then most if not all entries will be erased.
    4. Set the Date back to today
    5. IMPORTANT Open MfE and then change Sync Content to include the calendar, you will then need to change the inital sync setting for the calendar to "Delete Items on the phone" as there are none - then then it will delete nothing. YOU MUST change the inital sync setting of MfE will erase your calendar in the server as well
    6. Save the Settings and then perform a Synchronisation NOT a Full Resync
What should happen is the phone should then contact the server and download all the information from the Exchange.
When this happens to me - a quick 5 minutes performing this action restores the functionality.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • E71 Mail for Exchange System Error, try again late...

    Hi,
    Please Help!
I installed MfE 2.7 on my E71, but whenever I try to sync my email and calender, I get a system error.
It begins to sync the email but after that it doesn't sync the calender and I get the system error. Also each time it tries to sync emails, it retrieves all the mail each time.
If I sync only the calender, it retrieves all the items and I get a system error. I've pasted the admin log below.
    27/10/2008 10:17:42 start Email sync
    27/10/2008 10:17:53 sync died (11), collection=Email activity=handling commands from server
    27/10/2008 10:22:36 PING Command Requested
    27/10/2008 10:22:42 start Email sync
    27/10/2008 10:23:01 sync died (47), collection=Email activity=handling commands from server
Does anyone know how to solve this?

OK - like many on the copius web discussions on this Nokia E71 model/MfE topic I have been getting terminally frustrated with an otherwise great phone.
A trawl through the websites gave me lots of things to try, but most didn't work.
Our large corporate IT dept also were left scratching their heads, and resorted to a full reset, which cured the problem briefly, but as with others' experience it soon returned (also having to fully reconfig is a pain in the proverbial). Things suggested on the discussion sites like disabling Tasks synch, or Secure Connection didn't have any effect.
The fact that most others with the same phone on our system hadn't experienced the problem seemed to hint at it not being a server issue, but something more localised. The apparent fact that 'Emails' did synch OK, but that the process hung on 'Calendar' synch suggested it was a Calendar issue
One post mentioned issues with no-finish-date recurring appointments in Calendar, so I investigated these. I found that one or two had no end date, so I gave these items one.
But interestingly, I also found a high proportion of appointments that had been created last year (09) had end dates like 'Wed 31/03/00' when clearly 'Wed 31/03/10' was intended - was this an odd default in Calendar, or just careless typing? The consequences were that Calendar was possibly wrestling with numerous recurring appts with either 100-year durations, or possibly just hanging on the date confusion - is '00' before or after '10'?.
Therefore, as a precaution, I checked all my recurring appts like this (the procedure may vary according to your browser):-
    - In Calendar, open each recurring appt in turn;
    - Open the series, not just the individual appointment;
    - Check 'Recurrence';
    - Check that an 'End By' date is there, and that it is not '00';
    - Click OK;
    - Click OK again if warned about exceptions;
    - Cick 'Save & Close'.
Do this to absolutely all recurring appointments in your Calendar.
Then do a full resynch (Menu/MfE/Synch Mode/Full Resynch etc).
I didn't hold much hope of any effect, but Lo!, it did work, and now Emails, Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar all synch fine so far, using Menu/MfE/Mail for Exchange/Options/Synchronise.
I hope this works for others...let me know if it does.

  • Mail for Exchange System Error, try again later. F...

my E71 running S60 Mail For Exchange works fine for email, but as soon as we start syncing calendar, we get this error "System Error. Try again later"
i have researched further. The phone log shows the sync falls over on outlook recurring appointments. Some threads suggest the offending appts are those without end dates and adding them will fix it, but this is not correct. Our recurring appointments are created in Maximizer and synced to Outlook. They all have end dates which show in both Maximizer and Outlook.
The log message on phone is: "Failed to store calendar entry in device database". If you google that you come across the link to another thread
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=messaging&thread.id=7858
where it seems that MFE simply does not work properly with Outlook calendar recurring appointments and no solution is offered by Nokia. E71's run Symbian S60 and Mail For Exchange is the Nokia offering, which appears to be a derivative of Roadsync. Both appear to have the same shortcoming. Even the latest MFE version, V2.09.158, contains the problem, as we just upgraded on phone to try for a fix.
We have a fleet of E71's, having reverted to Nokia from Win Mobile devices. We were even looking forward to N97's, but we are now planning to move back to a Windows Mobile device. At least we can see the calendar on these!
For now, we have to remove calendar syncing on phone and delete all calendar entries, so the phone again syncs for email and contacts.
Nokia, how about a FIX before your new generation of "Smart Phones" are consigned to the wastebin? Please don't just tell us to change a setting on the server, unless you know it works.
This is your last chance with us. Time is too precious  to waste on dodgey software.

More info on this - the  problem appears to relate to only Outlook 2007 and not XP.

  • System Error in Mfe

    Hi,
I have started to get the dredded System Error all of a sudden only on some phones.
We have about 20 E71s around the UK connecting to 4 different 2003 Exchange servers all on the same domain.
On Saturday 1 of the phones stopped working, then reports from the same office, saying another one had stopped even a Windows Mobile stopped receiving mail.
I assumed it was an activesync problem or even seemed to have a prob with the the www publishing service.  We have just recently installed a new ver. of AVG 9.0 on the server. We removed AVG which seemed to sort out the www service but the phone still not seeming to connect.
When I setup a new sync, the phone says Connecting, then Connected, then Syncing email then the error pops up Error in Exchange Server, Please Try again Later.
The test phone I'm using has had fw 400 installed, I have also tried downloading the new MfE 3 from OVI but this didn't help, although I seem to have a different error in the admin log now.

Right,  I called the guy whose phonewasn't working and he said it has started working.
So I think removing the AVG hopefully solved it.

  • System error in Funds Management update

    Dear you,
Have anyone seen the following when updating FM from FI document:
"System error:Funds management update (FMRI, CHECK_WE_RE)"
    Any ideas what to do?
    Thanks
    Sonja

    Hi there,
The update problem occurs both if we try to post with FB50L or if I try to make a transfer of FI postings in FM. This all happens in the new installation where we plan to use new GL and FM.
This note you gave did not ring a bell for me
The error message is FI057. But we have not yet found a suitable note.
Therefore any ideas are still welcomed.
