E71 updater unable to connect
I am trying to use the NSU, latest version to download the new firmware update, it start off ok, it sees the phone and indicates it there is a new update, I proceed to select installation of the new update and the program indicates it starts the download yet 3 seconds into de download it gives an error mesege that it was unable to connect to the server. I have tried granting access to the two programs indicated in the error messege in my kaspersky firewall with no success, I have disabled Kaspersky compleatly with the same problem. It seems to have this problem only when updating the E71 phone ( on the same computer) since I performed an update on an E65 and it worked normall even with the Kaspersky up an running, same computer configuration, no additional programs running. my computer is running windows xp professional with the latest updates. if any can suggest something else that I can perform so that I get this to work. I even tried installing the spanich version of the NSU and gives the same error.I am starting to think that it could be a server issue.

I have got the same problem and could resolve it by doing the following:
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> USB -> USB-connection mode: highlight the option "PC Suite".
When the E71 is connected to your PC, a window opens on the screen of the phone, select "PC Suite" too.
Took me a while to figure that out, I hope you can resolve your problem that way.
Note: The language of my E71 is set to German, so I am not sure if I managed to translate the terms into English exactly as they appear on the phone, but I think the description is good enough to find the right options.

IOS Users with 4/22/2014 client update unable to connect
Hi all,
I'm going to provide as much information as I can, but i'm by no means an expert on Lync, but I am the person that installed and configured it for our environment. I have had tickets coming in starting on 4/23 from users
that have taken the latest iOS client update reporting that they can no longer connect internally (corporate wifi with no firewalls or ACLs blocking connectivity) or externally over Cellular data. Internally, they are getting a message that the server cannot
be found if they are connected to the corporate wifi network, and lync just sits there trying to connect (Android Clients on over a dozen different models are happy as a clam). Externally, they get a message that the certificate could not be verified. We have
all the latest server side updates installed as of last night when I took the latest cumulative update and everything else on the edge and front end servers. The certificate that is available externally is a Geosign cert (Wildcard) for our external domain
name, and we are using a domain signed cert for the internal connectivity on the edge server. Like wise we are using domain signed certs for the internal stuff on the front end server.
If you want other information please feel free to ask. Everything was working for all clients until this last software update. Also it doesn't matter if they are on 7.0, 7.1, or 7.1.1 if they updated the Lync client it's broken.Here's the log -- Edited to remove domain name, internal domain name, username, etc

I posted this on the Safari discussion pages with no replies to date. I'm hoping maybe someone here has some ideas.
As of yesterday morning I can't get to a large number of sites using Safari, but am able to get to them using Firefox (I'm posting this using Firefox). I get the message "can't connect to server."
Apple Mail connects and retrieves my email, but doesn't display web-based graphics. Software update says it can't connect.
Specifically: can't get to google.com, livepage.apple.com, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page, to name just a few.
I can get to online.wellsfargo.com/cgi-bin/signon.cgi. Also, I can get to this page webmail.earthlink.net/wam/login.jsp?x=-721966586, but when I sign in I get the "Safari can't connect to server" message.

Are you using an Administrator account?
No guarantees, but try this procedure.
-Again delete the items that I listed in My Previous Reply.
-Run Repair Permissions.
-Reinstall the PPC 10.4.10 Combo Update.
-Again run Repair Permissions.

Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?
You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! When i go to settings to update to iOS 7.0.4 it says software update unavailable, try again later. Not sure what to do now. Nothing works, can't use my apps, facebook, music etc. Will contact apple again and try get some answers. But thanks for any info
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Some things to try first:

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card. -

Whenever I try to update any apps or download a new one I get the following error message "unable to connect to iTunes". I have reset my iPad and router and also done the same with my iPod but get the same issue.....need some support please?
There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it
