E71 with TT6?

Hi All
I have just got TomTom 6 on my E71 and am wondering which GPS Reviever to get - either the Nokia LD 4W or the TomTom Mk2 Either way I am wanting to know if he E71 will work in the following set up?
Connected to the Built in Bluetooth Phone kit in my Vauxhall Insignia at the same time as being linked to the Wireless GPS and operating TomTom 6?
Also has anyone got any feedback on the TomTom Wireless GPS unit vs. the Nokia Ld 4W??

I removed the software ('email on 3') and reinstalled it a number of times. Did you mean this or a hard reset of the whole mobile?
What Nokia do you have? Exactly what problems did you experience and how did you solve them?
Things are getting better now: emails no longer disappear after I switch the phone off and back on, but delivery is not instant and takes about 5-8 minutes - even when I send mail from other addresses to myself. Do you receive emails instantly?
Could my issues have something to do with the recent change to 3g only in the network, or with the fact that data transmission may not work 100% the first few days after the number is activated?

Problem to update my NOKIA E71 with Ovi Suite

Hi everybody,
Since this morning i've tried to update the software of my Nokia E71 with Nokia Ovi Suite.
So first i save my old things (pictures, messages, ....) and then when i want to start the update i get ALWAYS this message:

It says: "Connexion whith the mobile has been lost"
Even if my E71 is connected with my computer by USB !!!
Does someone know about this problem ?

Hi,
I guess the installation of Ovi Suite is corrupted, please follow the steps provided below to assist you in this regard
Step 1
- Go to Progam and Features in Control Panel
- Click Ovi Suite
- Click Repair.
Once repair is completed then please restart computer and check.
If Step 1 didnt work, then try the below step
Step2
-Go to Progam and Features in Control Panel
- Click Ovi Suite
- Click Uninstall
Also uninstall the following f
- Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- PC connectivity Solution
Then right click my computer, click manage.
- Device Manager-Ports- If you find anything by name Nokia please unistall ( Dont remove anything else)
Then reinstall windows Installer from the link provided below

- Then restart computer.
- Download and install Ovi Suite
- Restart Computer again
- Connect the device, dont open Ovi Suite and wait for all the driver to be loaded by windows.
- Once done then lauch Ovi Suite.

Message per mailbox -Nokia E71 with Vodafone Busin...

Nokia E71 with Vodafone Business Email
Even though I have set message limit per mailbox to 1000, the actual limit is only 200. After that the earlier messages are deleted.
Vodafone's explanation is that the E71 has 110mb integrated memory and that other applications are limiting my mailbox storage capacity.
BUT my Nokia E71 memory shows:
Phone memory:
24mb in use, 95 mb free memory including
471 kb messages
Memory card:
227 mb in use, 1720mb free memory
Vodafone seem unwilling or unable to explain the big shortfall opposite the theoretical 1000 messages per mail box versus the actual limit of 200 message per mail box.
I have tried switching settings from 1000 messages to 500 messages to 300 messages. It makes no difference. I am restricted to 200 messages.
Is this a design error in either Vodafone Business Email and/or the E71?

yea, basically nokia forgets to support people with last year's model as soon as something new is out.

Possible to sync E71 with Mac?

I just started using an Apple MacBook, and I was wondering, if it is possible to sync my E71 to the calendar and contact functions in my Mac as I use to do with my old PC via PC suite.
Also, if it is possible - should I use the Entourage program (part of the Microsoft Office package) or the address book / calendar function within the Mac?

Yes you can
I have synced my E71 with a iMac desktop OS 10.5.8 Leopard using iSync via Bluetooth, integrates seamlessly with iCal and Contacts.
You may need to download the iSync extension on the Nokia website.

E71 with no WiFi..IS THIS FIXABLE?

guys i need help i bought an e71 in ghills.. i was too excited to check the specs.. i found out that my phone has no WiFi.. i checked sites and some said that if your e71 is made in mainland china it doesnt have WiFi.. so with that being said.. is this fixable? can i upgrade the firmware or something? or is WiFi built-in? please reply asap ..

You might have a genuine E71 but RM-443 belongs to the 6303c. Someone flashed it with the wrong firmware.

Typing in Arabic On E71 With Arabic Keyboard

Hi, I have E71 with arabic Keyboard in addition to English.
1- Some of the English keys are incorrectly mapped like the "." which is written when i press ":" ...
Any clue to fix this?
2- How can I acces the arabic keys? when in sms and choose writing language arabic is not diaplyed, but italian...
how can i add arabic to list and how to access the arabic keys?
in office dicitionary, i have arabic in the listm but can't type arabic.

Synchronising Nokia E71 with iMac using Isync

I use iSync to synchronise my E71 with my iMAC. Although it works fine with contacts it will not work with Calendars. At the end of the process I get an "synchronisation failed" error message:

[Nokia E71] An unexpected error occurred.
Device “Nokia E71” synchronization failed.
I have tried many times to do this but I still get the same error. I have tried resetting the E71 back to factory settings, reinstalling the plug in, resetting the sync but have run out of ideas. WIll the E71 actually sync correctly with a MAC and, if so, how do I overcome this problem?

I am using E71 and I donot have any problem syncing with calender. Have you checked with latest firmware? what is your firmware version?
I am not sure this will resolve your problem but you could try with this.
1. Remove Previous phone plugins from Library/phone plugins
2. Delete files from User/Library/caches/
3. Remove chaches from System/library/chaches
4. Download and install iSync plugin from Nokia website
Make sure you have installed all available updates from Apple using Software Update and your phone firmware is updated.

E71 with Nokia Messaging but not pushmail.

excuse me but i'm french and my english is medium.
So, i have a E71 and i installed since 1 month a soft of messaging with a real push mail (a beta version).
But i delete involuntarily the soft and i don't remenber this name.
And today i downloaded and installed Nokia Messaging.
Apparently, this soft is not a push mail. I can only adjust the synchronization that all the 30min.Is it normal?
And the presentation to the screen is different than on the Nokia web.

But i think Nokia Messaging bad installed because i have not this set. I have only "intervalle connexion" 6h, 4h, 2h 1h and 30min.
Often i had the possibility to modify this setting but here, it is different. ??????
I have the sensation to have the simple version of the e-mail of Nokia.
It is bizarre but in Menu, Installations, i have 2 icons @.
one icon @ Config.Mess and one icon @ Email.
When i press on the first one, i have access to the creation for a new adress mail.
When i press on @ Email, there is nothing.
there is a problem, no?

Just got an e71, but I can't pair it with my Sony Ericsson HBH-PV702 Bluetooth headset. I can pair with other mobiles, but it say that it can't find the device. Can anyone help me please.

E71 with Maps 2... should I stay or should I go......

Currently in China... fantastic country...amazing cold spell... snow 3m thick in places... Europe appears the same... still a working off line version of maps would be very useful...
I have an E71 phone with maps 2 and the chat seems to be I'm better of staying with this version than Ovi3... Are the issues with Maps 3 fixed? and could someone point this poor ludite to the link to the upgrade?

No cell company due to a correct bill go and forgive that $60.
Let's say one million customers all called and because they also did not back date the plan now all owe $60 or more and call in and ask for an accommodation just look at how much money Verizon would lose.
No carrier will do what you ask.
So my advice is to go and see if another carrier will do what you wish.
But remember, there are activation fees and plan fees and you have to spend more money on new devices. Makes sense spend $800+ to save $60.

Just go ahead and go to settings>Facebook> Contacts OFF and do the same with Gmail. THe contacts related to those acct will dissapear. Then when you sync again with Gmail be carefull BCS IT SAYS IF YOU WANT TO JUST ADD THE CONTACTS OR MERGE THEM!!!!

Error 80043b18 syncing E71 with Outlook; Software ...

I have installed the new Ovi Suite and updated my E71 software using the software updater but I am getting an error message 80043b18 when trying to sync contacts, calendar and notes with Outlook -- messages sync OK.
In addition, on opening Ovi Suite it now attempts to install software support and fails each time, yet in View Device Information it says my software is up to date.
Any suggestions?

Could you please try this once?
1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
3. Please search and download MSI clean up utility from microsoft website
Once installed please select the programs related to Nokia and click remove.
Restart Computer.
Then download from microsoft website and install Windows Installer, so that the installer is upto date.
4. Restart the PC
5. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
6. Connect the device and try to sync...one by one (only contacts, only messages.......)

Syncing E71 with Outlook Automatically

Hi everyone,
Have a question I'm hoping someone can help with. I've recently purchased the E71 (awesome phone). Wondering if there's any software/add-on which will allow for automatic updates of both my Outlook and E71 whenever a change is made on one of the two (without a physical connection/being in the same room).
Essentially I'm wondering if Nokia offers a service similar to the Apple service www.me.com compatible with the iPhone. This is a pretty cool service which will automatically (over the Internet/cell network) update your calendar/contacts on the phone within minutes of a change being made in Outlook (and vice versa).
It's a great tool for keeping things organized when on the road and I'm hoping Nokia would have a similar service.
Any thoughts??

I use mail for exchange, which seems to make the E71 more useful.
You can purchase Exchange services and your mail contacts etc will work everywhere, you an also have your own domain name and other things. It works well
In the UK I use www.oneandone.co.uk it has a monthly charge, but works well. You also have www.mailforexchange.com that also offers a similar service.
