E71 OWNER

this type of error message comes only when the router is not allowing the handset to access it. when the authentication fails the router rejects the request and we get the error message as "no gateway reply"
to solve this try the following
check whether the sim card is properly inserted and the handset is not in offline mode.
enable "show wlan availabilty" from wlan setting.
disable automatic configuration.
reset the WLAN access point to default setting and start defining again.
after config the access point manually on your device, go to the web browser setting and select the acccess point as always use.
try selecting another access point.
you  can do the access point setting from options> advanced settings.
if my post helped u out, please click the Star next to it to add some KUDOS to my name
Thanks and Regards,

  • E71 WLAN problems after upgrade to 110.07.127 firm...

Hi, recently I've upgraded my E71 to 110.07.127 firmware and all WLAN operations became very unstable.
For example, when I open WLAN wizard it might show that there's no networks - while were are some for sure, when I press Refresh it starts showing some of them, then I press Refesh once again it shows more (or less), but none of them I can connect to anyway/.
I have a Wi-fi hotspot at home and I've been using it for a while with the phone, but now it either doesn't show up in the list of WLANs or, if it does, the phone cannot connect to it saying "Network is unavailable".
I tried to play with the hotspot options changing bands, "b" or "g" modes etc - no luck at all.
    Pls help. Thanks.

i'm kinda tired of my nokia e71
I believe the only solution would be to downgrade to the previous firmware and wait till new one will come.
Strange, no replies from Nokia people at all. Looks like they don't care about this forum...
Can anybody comment is that confirmed problem and does Nokia work on it or not?

  • E71 Wlan Problems

    Hi everyone
I upgraded to latest firmware 110.07.127 not long ago
and ever since i havent been able to use my wlan properly.
After opening browser and choosing my access point it
just says Connecting forever and never actually connects.
If i during same time go to Maps and choose Online
it does start getting map info from the net becuz i
see the kb's going. But then when i go back to browser it still
    says Connecting
I have restored to factory setting many times and i have
no 3rd party apps going on. Still it wont connect.
    I hate this new firmware

Don't know if this is the same thing but when I first had my E71 it would not connect to my Wlan until I entered a home page in the settings for that connection. As soon as I entered a home page it worked fine.

    Solved!

Do you know if MAC address filtering is enabled? If it is then you have to add the MAC address of your phone to the list. Also change the channels setting on your router around to see if it works on another channel.
After that you can also try the following:
On your pc/laptop, click on Start>Run and type ipconfig/all and note the settings for:
    1. Subnet Mask
    2. Default Gateway
    3. DNS Servers
Now, on your Phone settings: Goto Menu>tools>settings>connection>access points
Select your WLAN access point and go to Advanced settings:
    IPv4 settings:
For phone IP address: Start with the Default Gateway IP and change the last number to something else.
For Subnet mask and Default gateway use the same as on PC
For DNS address: Change to user defined and enter same settings as on PC

  • No gateway replay N82

    Hi to every one,
Problem I have is can't connect to internet!!!!
I can connect to AP but can't go further. I get the message no gateway replay.
I tried to enter the IP address and Gateway still no results then I installed the WLAN application to help me connect still no luck.
If some one can help me on this issue I will appreciate a lot.

Where are you trying to connect? Public access points(eatery, hotels, airport) or your private home WIFI set-up? If it is the latter check if mac address filtering is enabled & put the mac address or your phone. That message means your not able to connect to a DNS.

  • WiFi (WLAN) problem - in the same room a iOS 5 device connects, iOS 6 not

    Hi all,
I won't say that it's a proof for the iOS 6 WiFi/WLAN problem. BUT, it's evident that my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 sees all WLAN-networks and connects - my new iPad with iOS 6 doesn't! And I'm using the two devices in the same room. In addition my new iPad didn't have connection problems before updating to iOS 6.
Apple Software Engineers - please help and release the next update to fix it

  • Problem using Gateway address

Having a little trouble setting up my macbook to connect to the work network. The way it is setup is that the wirless router I am trying to connect too requires the use of DHCP, but it also requires that you put in an IP Address for both the Gateway (Which I believe is refered to as Router in OS X) and the DNS Servers. While the DNS servers are not a problem, the Gateway(Router) Box is not available when configured to DHCP. Anyone know of a way to accomplish, both using DHCP and manually entering the IP of the Gateway?

Actually I got it working today with full manual mode. It seems that the IP Address that the router first assigned me with DHCP was not even in it's normal IP range. Don't know what was going on there. Thanks for the help though! Full manual mode did work

  • Logic remote wlan problems

    Hey, guys,
I'm experiencing connectivity problems when trying to connect Logic Remote with an iMac running Logic Pro X. Both in the same network of course, all other apps requiring to connect the iPad with any Mac in the network work very well, internet is fine etc. Seems Logic remote connects for a second, than it disconnects again, saying WLAN is weak or unreliable (which isn't the case), sometimes no connection at all. All operating systems up to date.

I also had this WLAN Problems and solved it:
1.) Try to remove all controllers you added earlier (also Logic Remote) under setup..
2.) Restart Logic an Logic Remote -> This should re-add Logic Remote to your Controllers.

  • ANOTHER NOKIA C3 WLAN PROBLEM

Ok, I'm not able to choose wlan or gprs internet but untill I was trying to open the Internet via WLAN tel says 'service not available''.'' activating default in all applications'' does not work, simply because it's getting back all my options from WEB and I''m connecting the Int via gprs again. What should I do? any ideas? maybe it's all about my router or so? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Hi, this is Paulo Bral™,
I recently got an Nokia C3-00 mobile, and I faced so many problems with Wi-FI connection of this phone that I decided to share my experience with you guys.
I am going to write here the definitive guide to fix all WLAN problems you may encounter (and this is something that not even Nokia Support was able to do) - are you ready?
First of all, I am assuming you have the knowledge about Wi-Fi networking (SSIDs, Channels, Security, and all the terms related to setting up a decent Wi-Fi connection), second, you need to have full acess to your router, as we will configure everything from the ground, third and last you will need a tool called InSSIDer from Meta Geeks (Google it) to perform diagnostic tasks explained below.
    Analyzing the networks around you
First off, you need to spend some time running the tool InSSIDer on your PC to collect data from Wi-Fi networks around you as they may be the cause of your connection problems. We will use these 2 visualizations: "Time Graph" and "2.4GHz Channel" to monitor the networks around - if you dont know what you are doing, better close this page and start running away.
    Configuring the router
After collecting data from the networks around, now it's time to set up our router. I found out that I have other 15 networks around me, and I found out here that most of them were using Channel 6, the same I was using. Also some of them are using the Channel 9 and 11. In this case, I set my router to use the Channel 1, as nobody were using it and it is also far away from other Channels being used. After some time collecting data, you will be able to see which Channel has no user or less users, and you must choose it. The security of you WLAN is your choice, as it does not have any side effects. I suggest using WPA2 as it is the most secure of the 3 this mobile supports. BTW, don't ask me how to configure your router, ask Google for it!
    Testing WLAN connectivity
Now it's time to test WLAN connectivity with your reconfigured router. Try opening some pages, try watching YouTube videos... If your mobile is working OK, with no connection errors or timeouts, your problem was only the interference caused by networks around. But, if you still experience problems like timeouts or errors opening pages and YouTube videos, you need to continue to the next step.
Using router QoS and Static IP
If you have an very fast internet (10MBPS+) you will need to slow things down, as this cell phone does not really support fastest internet speeds, now you have to know your cell MAC address, make it use an Static IP, and configure QoS to reduce the downstream speed on the cell phone IP to 3MBPS max speed - BTW, not all routers supports this, if yours don't support it, get another router, I recommend Cisco or LinkSyS.
    Still having problems
The above steps solved my problem for a while, as the phone were working a little better with my Wi-Fi, yet I experienced some timeouts and errors opening pages. Now the next step will require a PC connected to your network and this will reduce to ZERO the timeouts and errors opening pages.
Keeping the Connection Alive - for bad routers
If you have a generic (not Cisco or LinkSyS) cheap bad router, you will need this step! I noticed that even when the cell phone were showing the Wireless icon, the LED indicating Wireless on my router was not always turned on, so I understood my router was like "ignoring" the cell phone connection and just stopped responding to its calls. To fix this bad router behaviour, you will need a PC connected to your network, and prepare yourself to laugh: All you need to do is "keep pinging" the cell phone IP as this will keep it connection alive. The simplest way is to create a .BAT file with these 3 lines inside:
    :autoping
    ping <cell phone IP>
    goto autoping
Now save it on your desktop, use anyname.bat as you wish - now run it and connect your cell phone to the WLAN. You will notice the difference, as it will work so stable like if it were connected using LAN cable!!! You will never have connection problems again!
Well, that is it, following this guide your cell phone will never have WLAN problems again (well, at least on your WLAN).
    Best regards,
    Paulo Bral™

  • E71 Wlan connection problems

    Hi all
Have been trying to log on to my secure home network using my E71 & have not been successful. I go to all the steps as per the manual including key in the
Pre-shared key for Wlan which I guess is my Wlan password, is this correct?
    I get an error message
    Wlan unable to connect
    Wlan network not found??
This is a strange message when it has detected the network in the first place? Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I'm having similar problems. The phone detects the router WLAN, but the router does not detect the phone WLAN. The message I get is: No reaction from gateway.
I suspect that there is an issue with how the various manufacturers implement 802.11b/g
According to the Nokia Os 9.2 the following is supported:
    WLAN IEEE 802.11b/g
WLAN Security: WEP, 802.1X, WPA, WPA2
    TCP/IP support
My router states the same (Thomson Speedtouch 780) and yet my router cannot detect my Nokia device, even from 30 cm distance.
I may have to upgrade the router firmware to get this to work; still waiting for a reply by Alcatel/Thomson

  • WLAN Problem with 5800 - No Gateway Reply

Hey, basically my problem is similar to most of the ones about the 5800, but I'm trying to connect to my university network, so I can't play around with any of the settings of the network, I was just wondering if anyone had connected to a network like this one, or if they have overcome the no gateway reply problem, or just if you had any advice. Thanks, Phil

    Hi,
search this forum with the following search term:

From the results you should get some ideas on how to proceed.
