E71x - "Data counter connector active" Message

I keep receiving this message which pops up on the screen and beeps once when it does so. It happens during phone calls and just happened when I hung up. All it says is, "Data counter connector active". Could anybody please tell me what this message means?

-When you are on a voice call, the data counter is off.
-When you are surfing the web, etc., the data counter is on and if you have anything other than an unlimited data plan, the AT&T meter is running at something like 10 cents per KB.
The annoying thing is that it is default set to let you know whenever the data counter is available.
I have unlimited data, and changed one setting which seems to have cut down on the message:
Menu >> Config >> Connection >> Data Counter >> Data Counter Connection
Changing it from 'When Available' to 'When needed' seemed to cut down on the messages quite a bit.

yes, the red hang up button, so the E71 has red power button, hmmm...
have you tried editing your General Profile to set warning tones off
you got IMAP on?

Annoyed By Data Counter

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if I'm posting this question in the wrong section. I recently purchased the new Nokia 6790/Surge. It's my first Nokia phone, so maybe this isn't a new issue, but it is to me. Every time I make a call, at the beginning of the call I'll get a "beep" and a message saying something about the "data counter being on hold", and as soon as the call is ended I get the "beep" again with another message saying something about the "data counter being active." Not a huge issue, but personally I find it very annoying. I have no idea what the data counter is (yes I know the name should be self explanatory), I just know I want it off. Problem is, the only options I can find for the "data counter" are to use it either "when available", or "when needed". Both settings cause that annoying call interruption. I see no way to turn it off entirely. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or at least fill me in on what exactly it's doing. Thanks.

Nokia Lumia 900 Data Counter and People Tile

Is there a data counter on the Lumia 900 that I can't find? I've tried to call the 3282 data number, and it always tells me I'm at 0 even though I know i've been on the data network and not wifi.
Also, can someone explain to me how much data something like the people tile/email account setup uses? I've never understood apps like that coming from suuper old phones. Is it constantly checking your email/facebook? On some time interval? I'd really like to set up facebook and such with the people tile because it seems really nifty, but I don't want to go over my 2gb plan. I just don't terribly understand how it all works, and i'd be willing to try it out if I could see how much data i'm using..but that goes back to my first question...In the past when checking email/facebook I'd always just use the internet browser on my old Nokia e71x, and it wasn't giving me updates in real time like I know this guy is capable of. I'd like to use it, I just don't wanna eat up my data plan. Thanks for any wise words!

The email setting can remain always-on and email arrives instantly like a Blackberry if you set the synchronization settings to "as items arrive" for the email setup. There will also be a very small data usage checking for changes on various Windows Live services such as Calendar for changes so it can sync the data to the phone, or vice versa.
The People Hub tile uses existing picture thumbnails already stored on the phone from your contacts profile pictures and Twitter and the first profile picture it finds on your friends profile pictures on Facebook. Once the thumbnails are on the phone it doesnt use any more data.
It doesnt use any data to check for Facebook or Twitter until you go into the People Hub and swipe the screen into the "Whats New" section then it displays new Twitter and Facebook posts which have happened since you last checked it. Although if you have set Twitter and Facebook to email you when you receive a mention or interaction and you have your email set to receive messages instantly then you will have realtime alerts for those important things.
When you swipe to the "All" section of the People Hub and click on your picture it then gives you the option to post a message to Twitter / Facebook or Windows Live all at the same time, or selecting each checkbox for individual social networks if you only want to post a message to one or two not all. In this section you can also Check-In which places a Bing Maps location of the place you are using the GPS system. The Messaging system is persistent always-on and displays any contacts that are online on your Facebook chat and Windows Live Messenger if you have set it up, which when you receive a message is text only so uses very little data.

OPA Data Source Connector failed to run on Linux server

When I run data source connector for java on linux server using:

Losing service+cellular data cannot be activated

I've been having some issues with my iPhone 3GS recently. After contacting my provider, Bell, and getting a new SIM card, my issue was only temporarily resolved.
My phone continues to say no service, or if I do have service, it says cellular data cannot be activated and I cannot receive text messages or use the 3G network.
I've tried everything but restoring my iPhone, any tips would be great.

Cellular data issue is a carrier feature, so give your cell provider a call.

IMessage activation message. Why I have to pay more than once?

Hi there. Here is my issue with iMessage:
I'm from Spain (sorry for my bad English). I buyed an iPhone 4S one month ago. I activated iMessage then, and yesterday I was checking my phone invoice when I noticed I had sent 3 international sms (to U.K.). Each one was 0'60 € I checked the number, and It is an activation number used by Apple to verify your number. I can understand this, but i can't understand why you have to pay for this verification everytime you switch on iMessage. I checked the dates when these messages were send and the other 2 messages were send when I restore my iPhone (iOS 5.0.1 upgrade and another one because i changed my AppleID). So, I think this is a bug from iOS5 that I should't pay and It's something Apple must fix.
I have read in other Spanish Forums about people with more than 10 activation messages (about 6 €) and other people without these messages, so I don't understand what happens.
Have anyone the same problem?? Any solutions? Thanks

Active Message When you have invalid host name in Proxy Server

I have an issue with one of our customers.
To communicate with any external parties, we have to define the host name in proxy server(Firewall).
I noticed that when we configure a WCF or HTTP adapter with an invalid host name of https url address, the messages remain active.
I am using ESB Toolkit in my implementation but I reproduced same issue using Orchestration with static port and dynamic port.
I traced the message using Fiddler and I noticed that we only have one hit with Status Code 407(407 proxy authentication required) and it is not retrying which is not a risk to my implementation. However, I consumed a web service using a console application
and I set an invalid host name for url but I noticed there are two hits in Fiddler one is 200 http status code and the second hit 407 http status code and I could catch the exception.
The question is: How to enforce BizTalk to suspend these messages or how to handle these messages?
Note that I did the followings trials but no lucks:
- I updated retry count to zero
- Delivery Notification of the Port is Transmitted
- updated closeTimeout, sendTimeout, openTimeout values

You are getting "The remote name could not be resolved" because you are not using Proxy.
I tried to tweak on Retry Count(tried zero,1,2...). I am sure it is not retrying because there is not any network hits or packets in Fiddler or WireShark and messages stay forever.
ESB is not my issue because I reproduced same issue with a simple orchestration consuming a service with a static send port.
I have the following notes:
- In console application and Biztalk application using WireShark I can see same number and types of network packets in both cases.
- I tried to change https url to http with incorrect host name in this time retrying is working and message suspended after exceeding retry count.
- I tried to use https which is the required one with correct host name and change service name, I could see client OK Hello and server OK Hello and retying working fine and message suspended after that.
I think the issue with handshaking with proxy server because I could not see client Ok and Server ok hello when changing the host name.
There is another thread talking about an issue with active message and handshake.

Droid Pro - Error/Activity Messages

When texting today I keep receiving the following activity message:
SORRY!
Activity Text Messaging (in application Text Messaging) is not responding. Force Close Wait
I have also received similar messages lately while playing games, searching contacts, trying to get back to the home screen etc. The message will then change from Text Messaging to Contacts or games, etc.
Also while texting the phone is freezing/locking up - my spell check then gets stuck on the bottom of my screen. Then the activity message comes back and the phone freezes.

dawnmarie0129 and community, this is definitely an issue that you should not have to deal with. Text messaging is an important function on a mobile phone, so I understand your concern. Try going to application settings and clear multi-touch data. This worked for some customers while were working on a permanent fix. I also recommend clearing the data for the keyboard in Settings > Applications > All.
If you continue to have issues the last suggestion would be to perform a factory reset. I have listed the steps below:
Note: Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications.
From the home screen, select the App menu.multitouch
Select Settings.
If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps.
Select Privacy.
From the Personal data section, select Factory Data Reset.
Select Reset phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
Select Erase Everything.
Allow up to 3 minutes for the factory data reset and reboot processes to complete.
Perform initial activation.

Active Messages staying in admin console from few days - isolated adapter

Hi,
This is biztalk support(admin) issue.
It is really surprising to see 'ACTIVE' messages in admin console from past 15 days. They belongs to isolated adapter(wcf-basichttp), receive port.
They dont have any context properties.. or message(data).... or error details...
How come, a receive port message is active from 15 days.... Either it should be completed or suspended.
What are they ? can i terminate them?..
We have arround 350 of such messages. Our system has very fast hardware.

Hi Vaibhav,
Active means some action is still pending, so you need to find out what is that before terminating the instance.
One probable reason might be, certificates . Depending on the phone you have, the widget will either be in the widgets section of your app drawer, or you'll long-press an empty space on your home screen and then see the widgets folder at the bottom of the screen. Once you're in the widgets folder, find the widget, long-press it, and drag it to where you want it on the home screen, then let go.

No data in the activity monitor

All of a sudden I don't have any data in the activity monitor. Here's what happened. I was using safari viewing online pictures. I kept getting the rolling ball between pictures and noticed that safari was using 100%+ in processor usage and safari seemed slow. So I rebooted and opened the activity monitor and no data shows up. I run a quick hardware test and all pass. I havn't gone back to the pictures yet but normal browsing seems to be fine. I watch a few 1080P trailers and they work fine too.
All ideas on why the monitor doesn't show data?

Hmm...let's try this:
Go to User/Library/Preferences and drag the com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist file to your Desktop. Then try launching Activity Monitor again to see if that makes anything show up. If so, then it was a corrupted preferences file, and you can then trash the one on your Desktop.
If that doesn't solve the problem, the only thing I can suggest is to Trash the application and the preferences file, then reinstall it from your 10.4 DVDs.

There was no data in Daily Activity Report. But I changed the interval to 'Hourly', it displayed normally.

I have also a similar requirement.
At the moment I'm using the view CRMV_ACTFORGP to get the activities associated to a BP (by the way you have many filters that can be used) and then for each GUID (order guid - CRMD_ORDERADM_H-GUID) I call the fm BAPI_REL_GETRELATIONS to get the list of relationships.

I don't know EG01 transaction, but if SAP says "material 5 does not exist " then SAP is usually right.
Can you give an evidence that material 5 exists? e.g. screenshot from SE16 at table MARA, MARC and MAST
