E72 compass doesn't work -- works!

Having two E72 is very useful when upgrading firmware. The one I have just upgraded to firmware 054.005 only frequently has difficulty/doesn't the compass in Ovi Maps 3.04, wave as I will according to manual, in or out of my car, the house, whatever.
Switching to ViewRanger _always_ immediately brings up the compass, which is also accurate.

I have a similar problem with the compass when running a gps application called viewranger.
The compass works ok at first but at some point when I pick up the phone to check direction the compass has frozen. Restarting the application to create a new connection to whatever service handles magnetometer makes the compass work again for a while.
Strangely, in my case it looks like the compass freezing only happens when the phone is in gsm network mode. If within 3G coverage or if I put phone in offline mode I have not noticed any frozen compasses.
SAMUELE have you noticed whether your compass problems happen in any specific network mode?

E72 multiscanner doesn't work with asian language

my E72 got from singapore, and with Chinese language, but the multiscanner programe does not work with Chinese, the OCR only process the Latin languages.
but the E71's multiscanner works fine, does anyone konws the solution or update for that?

I couldn't browse with my phone on my schools network because the school needs to register your MAC address first, so check to know if your network administrators need to register your WLAN MAC address.
the last headset i used? you put it on, and search for bluetooth devices and if the phone is compatible with the bluetooth device it would see it and they can be paired. I havent had any issue with that ever, cant see why it didnt work in your case.
The DEFAULT number capability is in the phone, you have to set the default number yourself. you open the desired contact, GOTO the OPTIONS and then click on DEFAULTs, you can then assign to defaults to voice call, text etc.
you could download the gmail application to your pc from google website and the transfer to your mobile.

I am using E72 for 1 months now.
over all phone performance, speed, camera, its search capability are good but u cannot connect it to ur office wifi, which is secured by an Microsoft exchange User ID and password. Nokia should give head to it also.
I also got the problem of its BT program on my first day. there was no option to search and connect my Motorola Blue tooth handsfree with the phone. i was really hanged. but when checked my phone software version was 016.xx and when i tried to update it, it was updated to 031.023. after doing this, Bt headset option was enabled.
I can't imagine that, Nokia marketed its phone just without this option and release it in an update.
another problem is that, if u got multiple numbers against single contact, u cannot dial the default one, u have to select it, so pushing us to more keying.
I wasn't willing to set my gmail account on E72 via google sync, so i tired to install gmail application (Symbian) but it also stopped while downloading while displaying as installation stopped.
the performance of youtube application is really charming even on edge network and i can watch videos seamlessly.

On iPhone 5S compass, level, parallax effect doesn't work properly.

I'm using iOS 7.0.2 on iPhone 5S. I recently opened compass app, calibrated it and the compass doesn't move. Restarted, reset, and even restored but doesn't work. But on iPhone 5 (7.0.2) it worked. Next I swiped to level feature it worked, but when I placed it on a straight table it showed "-6" reading, while iPhone 5 showed "0" ( latter is correct ). After that I checked the new dynamic ( bubbles ) wallpaper. When I move iPhone 5S they move but in between they start getting stuck, but on iPhone 5 they worked smoothly. I hope that it's a software issue/glitch and Apple will solve it soon.

I have the exact same issue - I have posted a question only this morning. I am reluctant to do a complete restore on my 5S but turning off on normally works and I can't keep doing that. I noticed though that it only stops working after I've made a call. It works intermittently though. 10 minutes ago it stopped working after I made a call. Just checked it now and it's working again?! My compass appears to be working (it also goes green when level but don't know if this i normal or not as I never use the compass anyway).
Wonder what could be causing it especially on the newer phones?

E72 - Contacts quick search doesn't work correctly

I have over 1,500 contacts in Outlook and has successfully synchronized them with Nokia E72 (last firmware). But quick search in Contacts application simply doesn't work - I can find only few contacts - others just dissapear when I start typing correct letters.
I tried to kill the process of this app and restart Contacts. Voila, it works correctly! But then in 5 min. I tried again and got just the same problem.
Desktop quick search doesn't work too.
I've already tried to reload all the contacts in my phone - no results.
What would you advise to solve that problem?

The E72 Is from the most point of views a complete and very good phone.
But this bug drives me crazy!
Zam72 is completely spot on: Pathetic, Killer Feature, frustrating.
I've done som more testing:
Started with a quick search from home screen, found the contact I was lookng for.
Made a Mail for exchange sync. Same search, no hits. (thought I found the issue...)
Reboot, speed search work again.
New Mfe sync, search still works, repeated a couple of times, still ok.
Two hours later: Search still works
New mfe sync, search once again goes blank!
Now i'm noticing that when I open the contacts, I can browse the contacts, but if i enter a letter it first appears, but directly disapears making search impossible.
I'M NOT ABLE TO USE THIS PHONES CONTACTS!!!!!!
I believe this is related to Mfe synchronizations, but it's a random issue.
Yes, I've tried a *#7370# with no luck.
I'm not using PC-suite sync at all (no conflicts)
I'm not running other programs simultaniously.
I feel like a Beta tester!

Compass & Maps Doesn't work

when i using my COMPASS also MAPS in my iPhone3Gs OS 4.0.1.
it's look doesn't work exactly. when i taping to Compass always shown " Compass Interference move away from any interference................"
in the same case on MAPS, also my position on map and the blue ball not according, i don't know if it's come from network provider career.

So are you saying it will not show me the compass and GPS mode?
I can get the compass to appear at all when under directions...so you are saying if you have point A to point B directions on your phone...with the gps dot pulsing (like it does on search) it will also give you the white compass highlight?

How to start compass sensor? It start freezed and it doesn't works

Well, as far i know, the Alcatel Onetouch Firefox Os has the compass sensor buit in. So, i've installed apps for compass reading but these doesn't work properly. They intialize and stay freezed. I have installed others that use g-sensor like 'Level' and it works fine. I assume the compass sensor fails. Is there any way to test it?

What's going on with ios8... Screen rotate does not work anymore, wifi doesn't work very well anymore and apps are crashing or running slow... Come on Apple sort this mess out

ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly.... come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......

Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off). Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8. I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily.

On my iPad 2, I bought iPhoto. But I can't find it on my iTouch.
Can it work on iPod Touches? When I went to "Purchased" in the App Store, I saw iPhoto, but when I clicked on its little cloud to download it, I got a notification saying it doesn't work on my iTouch, and I need a "digital compass"? I have no clue what that means.

The requirments say:

E72 photo editor not working anymore (blank "apply...

Hello,
Today I tried to edit a couple of photos shot in my E72, but the editor is no longer working properly.
As usual, I select the photo in the Image Gallery, then select Options > Edit. The editor opens, and I select Options > Apply Effect. The grid with the effect icons (brightness, contrast, crop, etc) appears just as an empty frame, no icons. I try to use the navigator to "move" blindly, as I know where the icons should be, but that doesn't work either.
One editor choice that I don't use - Show full screen - returns a blank screen.
I have already turned the phone off and on, removed thebattery for a few inutes as well, nothing.
Please, does anyone know a solution?

Have you tried without memory card to se if same result in case of possible corruption?
Suggest that you backup essential data with Nokia Suite and return device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user).

After I upgrade to firmware 4.3.3 on my iPhone 4 the GPS doesn't works..... What's wrong and what I can do to resolve the problem?

It's inaccurate. Both navigon and google maps are inaccurate. Also the compass is constantly in motion several degrees when it's in my car's cradle and not in motion of course. ;-)
I tried this after resetting and clearing all data and installed only navigon from scratch.
B.t.w.: I do remember that when I bought Navigon (firmware 4.1 or lower) both apps worked smooth and accurate.

Wifi doesn't work hands fare with Toyota car sterio or Bose speaker. What is wrong with the wifi on the 4S? Does apple have a fix?

Nokia E72- email service not working anymore

Hi there,
I recently bought a Nokia E72 for 300 bucks (euros). It looked like a perfect phone and everything seemed to work very well since two days ago.
I did NOTHINg but suddenly both my yahoo mail and gmail account on mobile does not work, not receiving anything.
When I tries to delate both the email account a message like this : "you must be connected to delete account" appears.
I re-did anything restoring the initial settings and trying to re-configurate the accounts. It seems like the authomatic configuration doesn't work at all..when I type email address and password it searches for settings but then anything happens.
anybody has the same problems? I'm very disappointed because , so far, nokia never let me down..that's why I choosed a nokia phone instead of a blackberry.

I was facing the same problem.
Try this.
Suppose you are trying to configure gmail account, then select gmail and enter username/password then it comes back to the main screen ( list of type of accounts ). Again select gamil and enter username/password.. Since I have earlier set up my gmail account, so it was asking the email and password I used for the first time to use nokia messaging application. If you don't remember yours, go to email.nokia.com and there you can try out you possible email/password combinations.
Also you can edit settings on email.nokia.com for each email account. My email account in Nokia E72 wasn't updating. Then I checked these settings and found the problem.
Try if this helps.
