E72 Email disconnecting

I have an E72.
It has two email accounts one is a yahoo account with no issues it stays connected 24/7.
I also have another account which I've set up and it works however everytime I go to it I have to select a connection with the "Select Connection" pop up appearing.
Once I have selected the connection no problem it syncs the email.
However it doesn't let me know any emails are waiting until I manually connect it.
I have gone through the manual and settings and can't see where I have gone wrong.
All thoughts appreciated

I am facing the same kind of issue. Actually, I can use my imap gmail during a couple of week. All of a sudden, when I sync my mail box, I see briefly the message Connecting/Disconnected. So far, the only solution that I have found, it is to recreate a new mail box from scratch (!!).No that during the wizard, I do not subscribe to the Nokia mail service.
One question about this very very very annoying behavior: is it related to the number of email of our gmail inbox? I selected various setup (limit last xx emails, all emails from inbox) without any result.
Mfe is working on my e72 but only to read email! I can not compose or reply to an email (enable to start command error message)....
Note that I have bought 12 e72 to equip our team. Those devices are not cheap. If I count the number of hours that our team has spent on those kind of issues, I could have selected a yet more expensive device that is working properly out of the box!
So, I am with my company a very disappointed customer that has invested 4500Euro!

Issue keeping e72 email client connected and email...

Just got my e72 (software version 031.023 / custom version 031.023.244.02) I have made no changes to the phone other than running software update and configuring my gmail in messaging.
I configured my email as follows:
Menu / Messaging / New Mailbox
I am asked "no mailbox defined. define now?" I select "yes"
I start an email configuration wizard. I select "start"
I select "gmail". I enter my address and password.
Before connecting, I select "options / settings / mailbox settings / When to sync"
I change "update interval to 5 minutes" and change "retrieve when abroad to "enabled"
I click "back"
I click "Mailbox settings / Advances mailb. settings / Incoming mail settings"
I change "access point in use" to my local wifi AP
I click "back"
I click "Outgoing email settings"
I change "access point in use" to my local wifi AP
I click "back", "back", "back"
I am back at the main mailbox view
I click "options / connect"
It syncs up and I see my mail. The green circle in the upper right hand corner of the mailbox view stays green. Syncing works great (I get test email against the box in seconds)
Now - I don't move away from wifi AP (its 10 feet away). I let my phone sit idle for a while. I stop getting emails and when I go to the mailbox view I see the red circle in the upper right hand corner. I don't get any new emails until I manually select "connect" again in the "options" menu.
What am I doing wrong?
Why in the mail client disconnecting?
Should the mail client reconnect when it does disconnect?
In the event of a disconnect, becuase I selected "update interval to 5 minutes" in the steps a stated above, shouldn't it at least reconnect after 5 minutes?

i am not familiar with Yahoo and not even up to date with E72.
Try to delete the email account in E72 and set it up again. This time, deny Nokia services or something like that when configuering the email account.
Do the settings manual instead and then you get the possibilities to configure folders to see.
Perhaps I misunderstand what you want to do to.
I personally have droped Yahoo in 2009 and even Gmail recently due to due to reasons concerning safety and integrity...

E72 email doesn't properly connect

Hi,
I've run a quick search and while I found this issue has been mentioned before, it hasn't been resolved as far as I can see (if it has, I'd be happy if you point me to a solution!).
I've set up my Gmail account on my E72 device, and it has been working perfectly until yesterday. I would connect when I wanted and it would stay connected and sync emails until I disconnected.
Yesterday I tried connecting again, but nothing happened. When I tried to sync ('send and receive now') it connected for a few minutes while it did the sync, then disconnected again.
I haven't changed anything in my settings to make this happen. I've looked through them again and tried playing around and making some adjustments to see if it makes a difference, but it doesn't. The account just won't connect unless I tell it to sync, and won't stay connected afterward.
Anyone has any ideas what I can do?

Look at the last mail that you can receive then either archive, move or delete the next message in Gmail and see if any difference,

E72 Email and Browser Issue

Hi Guys,
I have recently updated to the newer firmware version in my Nokia E72.. It had been working well for the past few weeks. Now i have a problem in connecting to the internet using my WLAN network in the default web browser. I have added my WiFi connection to the internet group by going thro' Ctrl panel-->Settings-->Connection-->Destinations-->Internet and have also set it as the default connection. In the nokia web browser too, i have selected the access point as "Internet". But whenever i try to access any site, it says, "Connnection not available". What could be that??
As for the issue with the email, it works fine.. i am able to downloiad and view mails.. but i am unable to change the access point settings. I have used my WLAN name as the default access point and unable to change it.
One more thing that I found out just nw is that whenever i use email i.e as long as the WiFi connection remains live via email, i am able to browse the sites using the default web browser. but the moment i disconnect mail, the web browser returns the phrase, "Connection not available" as before. This sounds peculiar..and these two issues are someway connected to another..Doing a hard/soft reset may solve this issue.. but it would be better if someone can help me with a solution to this problem..

Nokia e72 email with low battery

Hi i have a nokia e72 with two mail boxes.
I want to have the mailboxes always connected, but i cant find the option to stays connected with low battery.
In my previous phone (nokia e71) i have this option,

Welcome to the Nokia forum.
When you go to Menu > Email > Settings > Select the email account > When to Sync, you will be able to set the sync interval. There's currently no option in the E72 to keep the phone connected to the internet when the battery is low, so the email account will not be synced in such a situation. This is to make sure the battery will last as long as possible.

E72 EMail Client hanging :( Please helppp

Following are the issues that I am facing since the upgrade of my E72-1 FW from 031 to 051:-
I have configured Gmail IMAP on my mobile but now it often hangs the application after few hours and I cannot receive any emails. The only solution is to reboot the phone.
I have Mail for Exchange also, it never faces any issues, But now I often face a delay of few minutes before I can access the latest EMail from my mailbox on the server.
For some reason my Nokia Messaging Account has been cancelled, Not sure why... So I am unable to access Yahoo Email as well.
So the major issue that I am facing is Hanging of the EMAIL application.
Steps that I have performed till now:-
Hard Formatted my phone when it was at FW 031.
Then installed FW 051.
Again formatted the phone.
Restored Default Settings
Formated the MMC card
Then installed couple of apps and configured the EMAIL.
Please let me know incase others are also facing this EMAIL hang issue.

unfortunately the newest firmware release for the e72 and e71 was botched IMO. that is why you are having email issues like that.
you will have to deal with it until there is another update as you cannot go backwards in the firmware.
regarding your NM account...i had mine "mysteriously" disappear too. found out it had to be randomly deleted from thier server. i had two yahoo email addresses attached to it too.
now, after creating a new NM account, which isnt that big a deal, i cannot add the yahoo accounts even from my phone or the web. i have spent hours with nokia on the phone working on this alone.

Nokia E72 email problem

Has anyone got any ideas why my new Nokia E72 will not exchange with my tiscali email addresses.
If the phone is not connected to tiscali, mail to the laptop is normal.
If the phone is connected to tiscali, all my messages are hidden and I do not get mail on the phone.
if I switch my laptop OFF I can get messages on the phone normally.
Its a choice of phone or laptop, I dont seem to be able get both at the same time
they are pop3 accounts on windows XP, passwords are aligned, as I said, if either is switch OFF the other works fine, so settings ARE good. they just wont both work at the same time.

E72 - email - viewing the plain text

on my E63 the operation of the mail client is to display the text of the mail and show the HTML component as an attachment (which is actually what it really is in email anyway). The E72 now displays the HTML component natively (which is what I have read many prefer) but if there happens to be nothing in that but the message is in the text it will just be blank.
So is there a way to have the mail client on my E72 revert to the display of text as the priority and to allow me to see the HTML if I wish to (which I don't always wish to).

E72 email settings

Until last week my emails were working fine - - did an upgrade and I cannot access my email -
I had 3 accounts set up - that all worked fine
Yahoo
BT yahoo
Hotmail
It now constantly ask for password and I know these are correct. I tried to delete accounts but it will not allow me to do this unless signed in -
On checking the settings it says IMAP but all these were originally Pop accounts -
On back of shop suggestion I have tonight tried factory reset and reinstall - update software - but it still has the email settings -
Any suggestions on how to delete all this and start again ?

E72 Email setting

i just got my E72 yesterday, and the email thing is kinda bugging me. i set up my hotmail and gmail account and it's just not working, there's this little cross symble on the top right hand side...
do i need to have internet servies on my sim card or do i use the wlan for the email to work ?

It would be useful if you canpost a screenshot to show that little cross symbol.
In the mean time, check your settings for both email accounts. Gmail settings are available here. If you get this to work then we know it is the settings and you can check the hotmail settings afterwards.
It is possible to use email with just wlan but you have to set up Nokia Messaging accordingly. Again, just check gmail first. When in Messaging, goto Options>Settings>email>Mailboxes>Gmail>Connection settings, you have to select the wlan access point you want to use for both Incoming and outgoing email. Make sure the access point you have selected has been tested to be working with other applications such as the browser.

E72 email setup doesn't work

hello,
i've been trying to set up an email account on my e72 but i can't seem to get it right
i get to the point where you have to select the email pproviders.i select gmail, enter my account name, then my password, press ok and it sends me back to the email provider selection list.
my only option there is press back or option.but back just takes me back to the begoning without any of the options being save.
any advice would be apreciated

the e71 had email and Nokia Messaging seperated, whereas, in the e72 it was all in the same!
so when you try to setup an email in the e72, it is automatically trying to set it up in "push" (not really) instead of the standard email client.
when you set up your email, and it gets to the TOS (terms of service), tap cancel/no so that you can bypass the NM set-up and go to set your email up like you did on your e71.
besides, there are many issues with NM right now and at one point...july 2010, it was down for the entire month, and now is intermiten at best.
also, with the latest firmware that was released for the e72, it should have been an upgrade, but the email was screwed up.
try what i typed and you should have email that is like it was on the e71.

E72 - Email Automatically Connecting

Hi Everyone,
I have just changed to a E72 from a E51.
On my E51, I had 2 email accounts setup and had the phone configured to check for new mail every 30 minutes. This worked perfectly well. Note that 30 mins was the earliest interval allowed.
On trying to setup the same accounts on the E72, I was forced to go through the Nokai Messaging wizard, which was a bit of an annoyance, but I eventually have both accounts created and have them configured to check for new mail every 15 mins, using GPRS as the default access point.
The one annoying thing that I can't seem to get round is preventing the phone form automatically connecting to my mailbox every time I go into the account to check what headers have been downloaded. For example, on my E51, I would get notified of new mail and could open the Inbox for the account and view the headers WITHOUT the phone connecting to the server.
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening on the E72.
Any help appreciated.

I can't help because I think this cannot be disabled. I just want to confirm how annoying is this problem on the E72. When automatic retrieval is active, the phone checks for new messages, gives notification and when the user opens the mailbox to see the new messages, it immediately checks again. This is not logical and not necessary! A question like "Do you want to connect..." is good solution, and it's not something new because it already works like this on E71, E51 etc.

E5 Yahoo! email disconnects.

E72 email setup problems. Please help

I am trying for some time now to set up my email account on my new Nokia E72 without any succes. I hit the email setup button, chose the right acces point provided by the mobile company and after I enter the email and password the mesage "maximum number connections in use. Close an active connection first" appears. Here I only have two options OK or CANCEL. Hitting CANCEL it just gets out of what I was doing. Hitting OK it only gives me the acces point which I am using without any other option so I have to close it. Could anyone help me with this problem please?

Then you better check if other apps like Facebook, Worldmate, etc.. use connections.

Treo 800w locking on email disconnecting

Using POP email manually, after checking for new changes from my Outlook status goes to "disconnecting". I can return to windows mobile desktop, but I'm unable to check email later because the status of that email account still shows "disconnecting" and the menu only shows "stop send/receive" but doesn't disconnect when I select that. I have to reboot (remove battery) in order to "unstick" this. I get this every time. I called support, but they were unable to help me.

What kind of email account is it? (Gmail etc etc)
Have you tried deleting the account and reconfiguring it?
Have you tried hard reset and reseting up the account?
One option might be to recreate the account and see if the second account preforms the same.
