E72 Home Screen

Hello,
1. On the home screen of the Nokia E72, there are these dotted lines seperating the displayed items. Is there anyway to remove them?
2. The font of the items on the home screen, is there a way to change it? Resize it?
Thanks.

Try the TehkBlack theme from http://www.tehkseven.net/theme/47452/tehkblack-ovi-e-series-mobile-theme.html
My phone came with the '3 mobile' theme which is quite good in itself. I don't appear to have the nokia one and have never seen any dots or lines unless trying out other themes.

  • E72 home screen icons

    Hi Folks
I got confused with a few icons appearing at the central bottom of my E72's home screen.
I know the Bluetooth icon in the middle. I guess the icon at right is for Internet Call ready as it just appeared after I successfully configured VoIP on the phone.
What about the two icons at left? One looks like an antenna, the other looks like a lock.
    Any comments please?
    Thanks,

    Thanks. That's definitely the answer.
One more thing is that I have no active application running at that moment, why there was a secured WLAN connection? Or, the SSL connection (the lock icon) has nothing to do with the WLAN connection at all?
How can I know which application is correlated to the lock icon?
    Thanks again.

  • Car icon on E72 home screen

A car icon has appeared on my home screen, and I cannot find any documentation as to what it indicates. It is displayed below the notifcation area, where other icons such as the ones for the alarm, bluetoooth and wifi connectivity, and unread mail are displayed.

I got the same car icon on the home screen once my E72 is connected to my car over bluetooth.
Did you pair your E72 with your car? You or someone must have done that before. Please check.

  • E72- Unknown icon on home screen

Unknown icon stays on my E72 home screen bottom right corner that looks like trash can with yellow envelope. Does Anyone know what that means?

To be quite honest i'm almost certain that my GF has hacked my iphone.
She knows multiple conversations i've had with people. I know this for a fact.
Now i've done lots of research on the matter and i can't seem to find a conclusive answer.
Lots of websites say that unless it's jailbroken it's impossible to hack an iphone and some other websites say it's possible.
She obviously won't say how she did it. From my understanding though she can see everything i do on my phone.
And no she doesn't have my icould password. I've changed it multiple times as well as the security questions.
So i was thinking that this icon might have something to do with it but i don't know...

  • E72 Application shortcuts and home screen applicat...

    Hey guys,
I`ve got a weird issue on my E72.
Whichever theme I use,the application shortcuts and home screen shortcuts(wifi search,calendar,chatsetup...etc) are keep highlighted
    on homescreen.
I installed ovi store update and polar lotus screensaver from ovi store yesterday.
Since then my theme has changed and the two type of the shortcuts on my homescreen
remain highlighted, whatever I do with them.
I uninstalled the polar lotus scrsv.
I tried all of my themes and default ones, but same everywhere.
I use a black and blue(neon) blue theme.
It used to look like full black screen and blue icons, the name of the apps, and shortcuts also written by blue.
Now the apps shortcuts on the top and also the home screen apps are highlighted with light brown.
I guess the polar lotus scrsv has left some files or configurations after itself, and keeps effecting
    the display or themes.
I tried to uninstall and install again all of the themes, but still no luck.
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
Any idea to get back the normal lookout of the themes wtihout highlighting anything(unless the theme contains highlighting functions)?
    Thank you

Could you guys try this blue and black theme by Mr Jorik, to check you also got light brown highlighted app.shortcuts on homescreen,or yours full black screen nothing highlighted?!
I can give download link for the theme.
    Please someone help ....

  • Nokia E72 - smaller home screen text

i have several calendar items on the home screen and the text, to me, is too large. is there a setting to change the font size on the home screen?

My text size on home screen suddenly increased.....so I went to menu-control panel-settings-general-personalisation-display and then font size.
I pressed help key and it told me to choose to change back to 'default' setting.  It asked me if I wanted to reboot...I said yes.
The phone switched off then on again and the font size on home screen had returned to normal (ie. small).
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
AFAIK that's the usual way on all S60 phones (though I could be wrong on that for older phones).
The home screen shows the meeting for 1 hour. Then it shows either the next meeting or the text "No more entries today". compared to the text "No calendar entries today" if you do not have any meetings for this specific day.
BTW, you will probably not get any response from Nokia here as this is a user to user forum.
If you want to contact Nokia, press the "Contact us" button on the top right.

  • E72 Calendar Home Screen

    Hi,
    Small question :
Can I have the next metting or next event from my calendar appear on the home screen.
From now, I just have the next event for the current day, not for the seven next days (before this nokia I had à WM phone and I can read the next event on the home screen for the next 7 days, it was very fine).
I did't found any parameter on the phone or any idea on the forum
Thanks for any help or idea
    Regards

    Hi everybody
    I have find the solution.
To get the next metting (or anything else) from the calendar on the home screen, it must unselect some application on the theme menu on the usage mode menu.
I had 14/14 application selected. I unselect 3 and then get 11/14 application on the home screen selected. After this change, I ca see the next metting on the home screen;unless only the next metting from the current day.
I don't know exactly how many day before the next. May be 7 days.
This solve my problem and my question.

I finally found someone looking for the same thing I was looking for, to put calender events on my home screen.  lemartien (above quote) seemed to have found how to do it.  I have Iphone5, and I know that the person had a different iphone because it was a few years ago.
Can anyone tell me how to get the iphone, or any other calender to show the weeks appointments or events to show on the home screen?  Now, you have to open the calender to look at them.   If I could remember to that, why would I need to set up reminders or calender events. Androids are set up to show google calender on the home screen, why can't iphone do the same.  Anyway, I need help PLEASE!

  • Is there any way to enable rSAP, use the iPhone as a modem, create sms folders, and show the day's calender on the home screen?

    Hi folks
Had iPhone for a while and generally happy, but it seems I still need to keep my old nokia E72 because I cannot seem to use the iPhone as a modem, nor does it support rSAP.
Also, while I like the threaded sms view, I'd also like the option to create sms folders to stash away my banking sms info, all of which comes from different numbers, and filled the sms inbox with hundreds of messages.
Lastly, having the meeting for the day diplayed somewhere on the home screen would be great if there were a way to do it. Yes, I can go into calender easy enough, but unless I develop the habit of checking it all the time, I often forget about a meeting whereas on the old nokia, it was always displayed.
What gives with the lack of flash support? Maybe ol Steve dislikes adobe, but it seems like a serious lack to me. Even the old nokia has some flash support.
Given that, I must say I love the seperate calenders and contacts. It's great to be able to keep home contacts seperate from work ones, but still have them on the same phone. Email is great two - full html support seems like a given but it works really well.

rSAP has largely been supplanted by ABAP, which the iPhone supports. Most modern smartphones, including the iPhone do NOT store any information on the SIM.
SMS inboxes. Not much to say. I've never had a desire to do this. I understand it could be useful, but it's unlikely to change.
As for meetings on the home screen... Wait for iOS 5
Flash: it's not JUST that Steve doesn't like flash. Adobe has failed to produce a workable version of Flash for iOS. Blame has to go to both sides.  I say good riddance to it.

  • Unwanted 'New Email' notification on home screen

Havin read some of the posts on this board concerning email notification messages, i went to
menu-tools-settings-general-personalisation-homescreen-mode settings-homescreen applications-enabledapplications, and unticked both email1 and email2 notifications, and yet I still get the message every time I recieve an email on the mail for exchange.
    any suggestions?
also it does seem pretty absurd the setttings are buried away in these menus to such an extent you have to look it up online to sort the navigation...

I agree with you. The Nokia Messaging gives you the push mail, but the notification on the phone is poor. You have to open the Nokia Mail app on the 5800 to see the message. Without V30 if new mail arrives and you miss the beep there is no indication from the home screen of new mail.
Even with V30 unfortunately you can only see the most recent email that has arrived on the home screen- and for some reason it still shows it as unopened once you've read it i.e. the closed envelope rather then opened.
FYI- you can turn the email notification on the home screen off.
I'm still amazed that there isn't a unified app that brings SMS, Mail, Chat etc all into the same window. So you only have to check in one place for incoming communication. Maybe there's a third party solution out there??
Maybe one of the other Nokia phones has this, E72?

  • Email notification on home screen on iPad Air

On the home screen on my IPad Air should the number of new emails display? At present I have to go into my mailbox to check if I have any new emails. It would be nice if I was notified from the home screen. Thank you.
