E72 : "Item no longer available; Restoring default...

Hi all,
Has anyone seen this message on E72 ?
I have had my E72 for abt a month. After much struggle and trial/errors I had got most of the stuff working (email etc.).
HOWEVER, I made the big mistake of accepting the firmware v 023.xx upgrade. It never completed the update successfully (the USB connection kept getting lost).
But the worst part is I am now getting these random messages when I am simply scrolling thru' the menu items.
"Item no longer available. Restoring default key setting".
Has anyone seen this message on E72 ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
When I check the firmware it still shows 021.024 dated 17-Oct-2009.

Did you upgrade using OVI or NSU?  I did upgrade mine to 023.002 with NSU 2.4.1.  If you use Vista or 7 as OS, make sure you have Administrator right while installing OVI, PC Suite, or NSU.
During the installation, the phone disconnected.  I remove the USB connection and the battery as well, then plug the USB and battery in then click Retry.  It worked after 2 times remove and plug-in.
I never seen the message you have before.  I think it is because the firmware upgrade didn't finish successfully.  And for USB keep disconnected, try use other USB port and make sure it is direct connection from PC to E72 without using any USB hub.

Very doubtful that the developers are going to ever reverse that decision, especially since they posted a workaround in that article and made it so that using a whitelist was possible via that extension.

When trying to log in to Knology WebMail, I get the response "Remote XUL This page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem." However, this is NOT a problem with Knology, but apparently, with Firefox.

  • ITunes Plus upgrading - "item no longer available"

I'm having trouble upgrading song to iTunes Plus.
Specifically, when I attempt to upgrade my library, I get a dialog box saying "The item you tried to buy is no longer available."
I have verified that all of the iT+ eligible songs/albums ARE available, and show up when selected in the iTunes Store.
So I thought maybe my tags were different from the ones on the iTunes Store. But after going in to iTunes and manually matching the tags on the music in my Purchased library to exactly match the tags of the tracks listed in the iTunes Store's 'Upgrade' area, I STILL get the 'Item not found' message and am unable to upgrade ANY of the eligible tracks. This is really annoying.
Why can't iTunes upgrade the ones that CAN be found?
Anyone have a workaround or solution to this problem?

I downloaded and installed the 7.2 upgrade on my laptop at work. I logged into the Apple store and went to the DRM-Free section. iTunes searched the songs on my laptop and presented me with a list of songs/albums that could be upgraded. I chose not to upgrade them because all of my music is on my desktop machine at home.
When I got home I did the upgrade and went back to the store. There is no option to rescan my library and when I do try to upgrade the songs I found, I get the following message:
"The item you tried to buy is no longer available.
The availability of the item changed while you were using the store. The same item may be available with a different price or elsewhere on the store."
At this point I guess I cannot upgrade my library or rescan it to upgrade the much larger list. I hope they fix this bug because I'm not going to upgrade just a portion of my songs and then pay full price for the rest of them.
Has anyone else seen this happen or knows of a way to resolve it?
I forgot to add that I am in the US.

  • Item No Longer Available For Purchase

I was trying to purchase the "No One" music video by Alicia Keys, and when I clicked 'Buy Video', a message popped up saying: "The item you tried to buy is no longer available. The availability of the item changed while you were using the store. The same item may be available with a different price or elsewhere on the store." Please explain to me why this has happened and if there is a way that I can purchase the video. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also having this issue. I live in Adelaide, South Australia.
I am trying to purchase a few tracks from the "Australian Gold" album by Wallis and Matilda. When I search for the artist Wallis and Matilda, the "Australian Gold" album is listed, but clicking on it simply gives me the error message "Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian store."
The track listings for all the Wallis and Matilda albums appear, and allow me to listen to the previews, but if I attempt to click on the Buy Song button next to the track, I get the same message as Millie C. - ie "The item you tried to buy is no longer available".
I have attempted to contact the iTunes Store to report this at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/ but there are no suitable sub-categories available under either the "Purchase(s) - problem" or "Downloading" categories on the form, neither is there a category for "Other" (this amazes me).
It is therefore impossible to contact the store to report a problem, because the "Ask Your Question Here" part of the form is not available unless you select one of the Sub-Categories under a main Category!
The "Your request could not be completed" issue is also evident with the albums "The Great Bushwhackers Band, Vol. 1" and "The Great Bushwhackers Band, Vol. 3", from the Bushwhackers Band, as well as the album "The Fable Years: Australian Music History 1970-1984" by various artists, and also "Normie Rowe - The Fable Years".
In the case of Wallis and Matilda, I recall having the exact same issue a couple of years ago, so it is not a case of waiting to see if it fixes itself as someone suggested in another, older post on this issue.
I find it absolutely mind boggling that I am in Australia, and can't even purchase songs from these well-known Aussie artists in the Australian iTunes store!!
Yes, I can purchase other songs, and yes, I am running the latest version of iTunes.
Any ideas would be most welcome - at least an idea of how I can contact the iTunes store???
    Cheers,
    Gerry

Thanks for your reply, but it seems that there's no option for it. Here's a screenshot:

  • Firefox 18.0.1 Mac OS 10.6.8: "Services Menu" items no longer available, "No Services Apply" only item showing.

Where have the 'services menu' items gone? How can they be recovered/reinstated? Tried 'reset' ; tried restart -- still no 'services' (e.g. "email address", "open URL").

Thanks, that answer would SEEM to make sense.
But I deleted  all the preference files (not just the one you suggest) and restarted , etc... several times.
End result: Flash CS4 still crashes, if not on opening, then everytime I try to open my old documents and reset the preferences.
I am currently reinstalling my entire hard drive just to try to get CS4 to work again.
I have worked with Flash since 1998, using it professionally for everything from short interactive demos to feature length animated films.
CS4 is without a doubt the most poorly designed, inefficient version I have ever dealt with.
A great and useful animation program was turned into a piece of bloated garbage filled with bugs and inefficiencies.
I will switch to the first animation program that comes along to replace it, now that adobe seems to think the only real use for flash is to create low level acton scripts (despite being used for tv show level animation production for years.)
These forums amply demonstrate that adobe has almost no useful support for its products and no real vision or idea of what it is doing.
The fact that you can no longer even export flash as a quicktime movie that actually accurately plays is another nail in the coffin.
I wish somebody at Adobe cared.

  • IBooks item no longer available in Australian store

    # I just sent this to Apple support, which I think outlines my situation. I thought it worth asking here also
    # The support page wouldn't allow me to post, so I took some others advice and kept original post a sentence...that seems to work...then edit with more detail, as I am now!
    Hi Apple.
    I need your help.
I have owned an iPad 2 since 2011, which I purchased a handful of books via the older version of iBooks, namely all the Song of Ice and Fire complete collection by George RR Martin.
These are used for my own pleasure, and also for reviews and research I do online for the Game of Thrones TV phenomenon, plus general literature blogs and sites.
I purchased the 5 available titles successively over one year, approx around 2012-2013 timeframe.
All the books were working fine until iOS 8 was installed onto my iPad 2. Apart from very slow page loading and other constant glitches, which are still present, my main reason for connecting Apple support is:
    - the 5thbook in the series, A Dance with Dragons, was purchased as one whole book in a single purchase. This book has an "update" prompt on my Ipad 2 iBooks library, but it comes up as
"item unavailable in the Australian store"?
    # the ID/link/info is : https://itunes.apple.com/au/book/dance-dragons-complete-edition/id435202115?isIn PurchasedView=true&mt=11
It is now ONLY available as 2 separate parts e.g. book1 & Book 2 via the iBOOKS STORE.
I want to re-access that original purchase and sync to my new macbook retina.
I will not be paying for the 2 separate books, as I have already purchased the complete book.
    What are my options?
    Thank you kindly

That's the link to the book that for some reason isn't available now in the US.

  • I get error "Remote XUL This page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox." when I access email. How do I fix?

When version 17 was installed, a message briefly displayed that stated that 3 features would not be available, but I was not quick enough to note what they were. It was after that point that I started to get the “Remote XUL” error when I tried to access my email host via Firefox. I contacted my email host tech support (PureHost.com) and they were able to access my email without any problems. The tech used MS IE. I was also able to access my email with IE, but I prefer Firefox and have been using FF since vers. 2. What is “Remote XUL”, and what can I download to fix this problem without having to locate and install version 16 ?

  • Purchased items no longer available - says I have to re-purchase?

I switched the type of iPod I use and sold my other one. I don't know if that's what messed all of this up but I went to watch a movie that I bought on iTunes a couple of years ago and it's suddenly gone. So are my tv shows and the other movie I had purchased. I went to the iTunes Store to see if the movie had somehow disappeared or something and it's saying I'd have to purchase it. But, I already did! I find that to be ridiculous, and I'm not going to call and pay even -more- money for something that's not my fault. Any ideas?

What country are you in ? Films and/or TV programmes can't be redownloaded in all countries. And you haven't changed countries since buying them ?
What types of content can be redownloaded where : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
If you are in a country where they can be redownloaded then try logging out and back into your account on your iPod. If you aren't in a country where you can redownload them then you will need to sync them from the copy that you have on your computer's iTunes or your backup of your downloads/library.

  • Remote XUL no longer available in Firefox to set interface speed to broadband by internet provider

We had some problems with thunderbird lately and had to redo some settings. When resetting my email account on the server to 'Interface speed' from Simple (Dialup) to Advanced(Broadband) it comes up with the message: REMOTE XUL - this page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox. I have version 7.0.1

Support for remote XUL was dropped a while back because it was a constant source of security concerns. If you find any website or application still using it you should report it as a bug to its developers.
There is a [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/remote-xul-manager/ Remote XUL Manager extension] which can be used to allow it to trusted sites on an individual basis if you really need it, but the only cases where this should legitimately come up are XUL code examples and some enterprise's internal software systems.

  • Is it safe to delete iTunes media that is no longer available in the iTunes Store?

There is a support document that states it is OK to delete content locally so long as the content is available in the cloud depending on your geographic location.  As I'm in the US all media types are available.  From the document:
You can delete items that you bought from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store from your iOS device, Mac, or PC. Because Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) plays content from the cloud, you don't need to delete items from your Apple TV.
Before you delete an item, make sure you can download it again. If you can't or need to pay to download it again, back up the item before you delete it.
What I am still not clear on is if it is also safe to delete content that is no longer available in the iTunes store?  Will it still be available for previous purchases?
I prefer the quality and off-line availability of iTunes media over Google Play but I've had issues recovering deleted media in iTunes in the past and so have less anxiety about the security of my purchases on Google Play versus iTunes.  Can someone confirm if items no longer available for sale in iTunes are or are not still available via the cloud?

Thanks for the reply although I'm not too happy to hear it.  What's awesome about the cloud is no longer having to keep up with any physical media.  The promise of that is realized with everything else (my work, music, books) besides movies and TV.
I wonder how Google Play will handle movies/tv that becomes unavailable?  Google Play does allow you to download media in some circumstances (on Android and iOS) but is generally intended  for streaming.  Maybe relying on a physical copy as I do with iTunes should make me more comfortable with it and not less.
I will come back to mark your reply as the solution as it becomes clear there is not a contrary position.  Thank you.
