E72 knows bugs to be fixed

Reporting found bugs of current E72 firmware:
1) Long press of 'phonebook' button doesn't trigger creating new contact.
2) Sometimes space button stops working. When I press it backlight turns on, but is just doesn't work while creating SMS or in any other application. Rebooting fixes this problem.
3) After installing some applications, when I open menu, my E72 shows that every single application 'is running'. I mean in the right top corner of each application's icon there is a symbol which indicates, that this application is currently opened.
4) Charging problem. I use E72 for 3 weeks and 2 times there was a charging problem - charging took over 6 hours. And I didn't use phone during charging at all. This problem occured twice while charging using different wall outlet.

I guess I should not be surprised.
After three major releases of OSX and 20 updates and two major version and 8 updates of Indesign the monitor profile is still being introduced into the RGB printflow.
What the HELL does it take to get this bug fixed?
And, yes I know you can use "Print as Bitmap" or "Fast Graphic Process" in the Canon drivers to work around this problem.
Just maybe if IDCS5 uses the Cocoa print path that PS and LR now use it will be fixed then.

How to see list of bugs to be fixed in future patch level?

It occurs often that the client needs to upgrade due to one application error, but after upgrading they discover more application errors in the latest patch.
How to see SAP notes for bugs to be fixed in future patch level for CA or US localization only?
This is the scenario: Client was upgraded to 8.8 SP0 PL11 and they discovered a bug (SAP note 1475645). SAP note 1475645 was released on 04.06.10 when the upgrade was in testing. SAP intends to fix it in a future patch, therefore it is not included yet in any info file. It was not found in testing and unfortunately the client found this bug in the live upgraded database.
It would have been good if before upgrading the live database I could have found this note and advised the client of the workaround.
I tried the notes search but this returns 821 notes.
If I search #8.8 program error# or #8.8 application error# I do not find all relevant notes. The reason is that the writing of the notes is not consistent - Note 1475645 does not contain #8.8#.
If I search using category - program error, search for: SAP intends to provide a patch
and search method: phrase, I get 821 notes.
They are in order of last change date which is good but still, this doesn't work because a clean up is required e.g...Note 1477578 still says "SAP intends to provide patches' even though the patch has been released already (PL12) and I have already reviewed the info file.
It would be very helpful for both support and upgrades if the SAP notes search can be improved:
- refine search by version i.e....2007 or 8.8
- refine search by localization i.e...those country specific could be filtered out.
- refine to date range i.e...last change date
- clean up text on note when patch fix is released
- write notes consistently so that same search method can be used
Alternatively, please provide the info file for planned future patches. That way I can check what application errors are not fixed and exist in the patch I am upgrading to.

I have gone through your posts in this thread and I would like to give you some insight into what we as SAP are doing to improve in the above mentioned areas.
First of all we are continuously improving the testing on patches that we release to the market, to ensure that we are not introducing any new defects into the product. However as you have mentioned, even through the rigorous testing process that we have at place, the fix in one place might touch the functionality in other place and go to the market unnoticed.
To make sure this does not happen we are continuously monitoring all such cases and following up on them. This iterative process has ensured that there is a minimum of problems that are released to the market.
In addition our policy for patch content makes sure that the cases that were identified in the market are fixed in the first available patch.

In regards to the Note search for solutions delivered via patch, the methodology that we use is the following:
1. product defect is identified and scheduled to a future patch in our internal systems.
2. note is created that describes the defect and the solution that will be delivered via patch
3. once the patch containing the fix is delivered onto service market place the note is attached to the "Patch overview Note" with the name of the patch.
Therefore the notes that do not have the overview note attached are the ones that are already identified but not yet delivered in a patch.
Lastly, we are currently working on improving the patch info file to provide a better overview of the defects that were fixed in the current and previous patches. Please let me know in case you are interested in reviewing and providing feedback, I will e-mail you the file.

When E4200v1 bug gonna get fixed?

As the title says... When E4200v1 gonna get fixed? I just have a problem with the time and the company released a new E4200V2 but the bug isn't fixed yet.. whats the point of releasing a new one if the same bug in V1 is not fixed in V2... and soon maybe you will release a V3 and the bug wont be fixed too.. seriously its like a scam, just wasting our money for nothing...

i know one! linksys/cisco can't do PPPoE normally! it's like they want it to disconnect you 100 times a day. i tried 1.0.01/1.0.02/1.0.03 and these firmwares are all BROKEN! live chat suggested that my router is malfunctioning and i should get it replaced, i replaced it once and nothing changed, no point of getting third v1 with the same crappy firmware. i finally got it working without disconnecting by flashing to dd-wrt. wow linksys just wow!

Metadata bug from beta fixed???

Can anyone who has gotten an advance copy of Lightroom tell me if this bug has been fixed?
When you add metadata (in my case, in the form or keywords) to images, the more metadata you add, the slower the program runs. It actually got so slow it wouldn't allow me to open Lightroom. It is critical that I be able to use keywords, so I need to know if this bug is fixed, so that I can buy Lightroom! I have called Adobe, but as they don't have tech support set up yet, they are having hard time finding an answer for me.

I tried last week. The best I could get was a discount on the repair, but the damage to my logic board by the GPU caused it to no longer boot. The program ended in December last year, but it has been extended in the past.
If you have no other damage you might be able to get a flat rate tier 1 repair if you are in the USA.

9Bug Found and Fix Found> Creative ZEN XFI Style 32 Gig?Hello I was having problems getting my MP3 TAGS to show up on a number of my MP3's.
Whenever I loaded my files onto my ZEN it would show up as a Voice under Recordings.
And the file name would be "MIC and the date file created etc..."
I noticed that these files where all starting with the letters MIC at the front of the filename...
For instance: Michael_Jackson_Thriller.mp3?? or? Michael_W_Smith_Let_it_rain.mp3
and so on and so on... ANY file that started with the letters M I C? would be thrown in as a voice recorded file and the TAG would not operate.
I have the latest Firmware on my MP3 Player.
The fix was just to change the file name so it did not start with MIC... so i went and switched Michael Jackson to M.Jackson and also switched Michael W Smith to M W smith.
The tag showed up appropriately and I have had no problems since.
It would be nice if there was another Firmware update so that MP3's could start with the letters MIC also I was hoping to bring awareness to this situation for other users.

I used Windows Media Player to sync the files.
I used Creative Central to transfer the files.
These two methods produced results where the file starting with MIC turned into a voice recordings.
I also had problems just copying and pasting the files (using windows explorer).
I have not had any problems with any other file. I normally use MP3Tag to tag my files.
However i even tried using Windows Media to tag the file and I even tried using Creative Central to tag the files.
I tried as many work arounds as possible. But once i renamed the file it worked.

Also I have 2 other ipods that I am no longer able to sync. It comes up with a message (best I can remember) something to the effect that my itunes version is not compatible with my ipod. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

That does not work on model year older then 2010 and really doesn't work on any older then late 2011 models.
You will need a set of original system dvd disc thjat are always sypplied with every mac sold before Lion came out. Systems older then late release early 2011 models.
If you don't have them you kcan order a replacement set from apple by calling them. Have the serial number of you mac handy.

I have windows 8 and itunes 11.0.2 and the the quality of the playback of my tv shows is choppy, does anyone know how I can fix this?

I just recently got a new laptop with windows 8 and downloaded itunes 11.0.2. I downloaded my tv shows from the cloud to the laptop and the playback was awful...the audio was fine but the video is choppy and couldn't keep up with the audio. I thought maybe it was because I downloaded it from the cloud and it was a different version of itunes so I downloaded different TV shows from the store and it was the same problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I can't switch apps on my iPhone 4. I have 9.3 GB of free space out of 30 GB. Rebooting doesn't fix the problem. Does anyone know of a good fix?

I can't switch apps/programs on my iPhone 4. Whatever app I'm in is the only app I can use unless I restart my iPhone. Then I can choose a new app/program to use but then it's stuck on that app/program until I reboot my iPhone. Syncing it with iTunes doesn't seem to fix the problem and I regularly close apps/programs so I never have many multi-tasking.
This problem sometimes goes away for a brief period of time (an hour or two) but it's pretty much been this way for the past 48 hours.
I have a 32 GB iphone 4 that has the following on it: 4.9 GB Audio, 8.2 GB Photos, 6.2 GB Apps, 0.58 GB Other, 9.3 GB Free.
I am using iOS v 4.3.5
Does anyone know of a good fix?

You mentioned rebooting, have you tried a cold reboot? That is is holding the home and lock buttons down for about 15 seconds?
Ignore the slider asking to turn off, just keep holding. Once it goes off continue to hold for about 10ish more seconds and it will eventually turn back on.
Suggestion only.
