E72 NM subscription "purchased with device" - affe...

Just wondering as (yet again) Nokia have managed to cancel my lifetime subscription that came with the E72 (SIM free, not attached to any operator). Just battling with Nokia Care over this and they have restored it to a half broken state. At one point it turned to Trial status and now reverted to the lifetime sub again.
Thing is this time I got the dreaded email about my phone having been transferred to another person, which was utterly wrong. I wonder if it's because I swap the SIM in my phone frequently.
For work purposes I have to use a Vodafone UK SIM (this is actually for a site I work on where all signals bar Vodafone are blocked), so I swap my contract Orange SIM for a PAYG Vodafone whilst on site and have my calls forwarded.
This has been working okay for about a year, apart from an initial hiccup where they cancelled my account for no reason (not even an email about it). But I was thinking given the recent exclusive deal with Orange that they might be thinking that slapping a Vodafone SIM in is the same as transferring the phone. Which is definitely is not. Aside from my needs, maybe I could have just changed operator. Given this is an inclusive subscription with the phone, not the operator, then in no way should the SIM change affect the subscription.
Either that or it's just their system has gone screwy again and decided to muck up my account for no good reason.

  • HT203433 An apple id is already associated with my device ( i signed out of exising id and created a new one) and wont let me associate my device with a new apple id for 85 days. How do i get my new content purchased with new id onto my ipad?

Hi, can anyone please tell me how I can receive downloads onto my ipad that i have purchased with a new apple id via itunes on my pc? I added a new apple id and signed out of existing one on my ipad and now receive a message saying that i cannot associate a new id for 85 days - and it won't let me download my purchased content onto the ipad even though i can purchase new content on my pc with the new id. The new content shows in my purchases when accessed on my ipad but the message appears when i attempt the download. I have set up the new id on both devices.
    Any suggestions?

Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. I changed my apple id to "[email protected]" and it changed my game center account to "mynew" and somehow I am friends with my old acct, "user10". I tried getting a password reset for "user10" but I apparently don't know my own birthday, which is possible because I usually give a false one, but the same false one each time.

  • HT201079 Buy app with acct X, then setup acct Y as shared and swithc a device to use acct Y. No you cannot update app because it was "purchased with a different account" even though they are shared

Prior to Family Share we had devices sharing a common account for purchases
We setup Family share an switch the App Store account on some devices to those shared accounts
Now when we try to update existing apps it refuses stating that they were purchased with a different account
Well yes they were, but it is a shared account.
Do we really need to un-install all apps, loosing any data, then reinstall using the shared account ?
If so I think Family share is a non-starter.

How to turn your computer into a Virtual (Personal)Router.
Our hotel the Grand Oasis Cancun provided internet for only 36 hours and you could only use it on one device which comes to my next option as using your Laptop as a Personal Router to broadcast WiFi to any devices near your computer. Our room was on the Second level of the Pyramid at Grand Oasis and I was able to access it while at the VIP lounge below our room. Before our supposedly free internet service ended.
I attempted using the hotel next door since I was getting a good signal from the Omni Hotel. They offered complimentary 24hr internet access using your browser as a way to track your use. Once you find the signal of the Omni it will open your browser I used Google Chrome, after it opens you go threw a few simple steps and your ready.
I learned that after the 24 hours are up all you have to do is disconnect from their network, just run Ccleaner(free program) then find the Signal of the hotel and you will be given another 24 hours. What Ccleaner(<--download there) does is clears anything attached to your browser ie cookies temp files etc. it cleans your browser history giving you a way of not paying for the hotel fee of internet and giving you free WiFi. this is only if you are next to the Omni hotel :).
What you need to download to turn your computer into a hotspot need to say is this little easy to use program Virtual Router. Once it has download test at your home to make sure it works with you devices. This will work with Tablets, Phones and other computers that cant find the Omni WiFi signal. Your welcome. To use it, is simple. Open program>make a password>select WiFi and start VR.

  • HT1904 if i purchased my device with my money is it legal for someone else to put on the parental controls?

if i purchased my device with my money is it legal for someone else to put on the parental controls?

That is an interesting question.  If you are at the "age of majority", then why would you allow someone else to put restrictions on your device..  If it is a condition of your employer to use the device on their network services, then you allow it to use the device for their system.  If you are under the age of majority, and your parents are requiring it, sounds like the parents care.

You can't do anything. You have encountered the activation lock. Unless you have some sort of contact with the previous owner you have bought a very expensive paper weight.
You can find out more about activation lock from Apple's site here: Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

  • Can I use US purchased Airport devices in the UK?

Well, I got the news yesterday and I'll be moving to the UK in September for a minimum of three years. While I've a world of things to plan, I know that I'll be taking my MacBook Pros and iPods and will be buying another "Apple World Travel Adapter Kit" only for the MBPs (as they're such good fit and I know I was able to use my PowerBook in London so I'm supposing the same of my MBPs? And possibly even dole out the cash for two of the same for my iPods?) but I notice that the description says nothing about Airport Extremes and Expresses.
As I don't really know exactly how long I could be staying (3 years until...?), I'm thinking I'll just sell a good deal of what I own, ship what I can't live without, and buy new (or used) furniture and electronic/computer gear... but will I need to buy new Airports? Will it depend on the type of broadband service that I choose (as I notice several that offer 'wireless' service - which I assume is simply their wireless routers paid for in the monthly subscription fee?
I think (but am not certain) that my cable/broadband/phone service will be through Homechoice (8Mbs): although it's possible that Telewest (who say they have a 10Mbs option coming soon?) or ntl (2Mbs?) will be available in the SW1W 8xx area - I've no idea how service availability works in the UK, really - more homework to do. I'm very, very confused about London broadband/cable TV options just now... BT says they have an 8Mbs service? Over DSL... or what? Electric and gas is easy... but cable and Internet service has (obviously) changed a bit since my last 3-year stint from 1983-1986. At least I hope it has... snooker at 2:00 a.m. is not the only thing showing in that timeslot now, I'm hoping.
But what about my in-flat wireless? Should I just buy wireless gear when I get settled in? It doesn't seem that anything I have is going to meet the voltage requirements. From the information I've been able to find (none - hence this message) my Airport Express and my Extreme are going to be useless.
If I have to buy new equipment, I'll just do it. I don't really mind paying VAT at all - much easier to keep a running total in your head when you don't have to keep remembering to add 9.78% sales tax to an item priced - today only! - for $127.49; nor do I mind the 8-9% higher prices of Apple gear in the UK than in the US - I'll be in London, after all! The City That Never Sleeps! No, wait, that's New York - London, thank goodness, sleeps... and if you ever tire of it, you just die, saith O rare Sam Johnson! In New York, you're never sleeping, always tired, and so death is just around the corner (all too literally, at times). But if I can save a few pounds by bring some of my smaller electronic gear along, I'd like to do so.
So... has anyone ever been on the road in the UK (or moved to the UK) and used US purchased Airport devices successfully? If it means using cumbersome converter kits, I'll just buy new... but if it's a simply plug change, I've plenty left over that I don't feel the need to buy 'Apple Sanctioned' kits.

    Welcome to the discussions!
+Will a USA airport extreme work in UK?+
    Yes
+Do the US have different wifi signals to UK?+
Yes. UK uses channels 1-13. US uses 1-11. You won't be able to use 12 and 13 on your AirPort Extreme. I'm not sure about 5 GHz channels if you plan to use that frequency.
+Is there anyway of over writing the firmware with UK firmware?+
    No
+maybe I am just setting it up wrong?+
If you can tell us what modem (make and model number) you are using with the AirPort Extreme, we may be able to help with the setup.

  • Subscriptions and Multiple Devices

Hi, please could someone let me know if it's possible to have the same subscription on multiple devices, or it's a bug.
We have a couple of iPads that are signed in using the same apple ID but only 1 device will allow you to download any issues and the other wants you to pay for them again.
Any issues that are bought seperatly can be download to any device, but for some reson the subscriptions are tied to one.
If we then produced and iPhone version using renditions, would this mean that you can only download any subcribed issues to either the iPad or iPhone not both as you would expect?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Here, Adobe wrote: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/subscription-purchase-doesnt-change-fol io.html
When a subscription is purchased, the entitlement algorithm entitled all folios with publication date values that are more recent than the subscription start timestamp. If there isn't a future folio that matches this requirement, it instead entitles the most recent, previous retail folio, based on the publication date metadata.
In cases where this algorithm doesn't meet the needs of its customers, Adobe is actively pursuing fixes for future releases.
Why Adobe make a mess and the costumers need to pay the consequences?

  • How do I use one account to share purchases with my family

I have an iPod, iPad, and my 2 kids each have an iPod. My oldest now has his own apple I'd so he can iMessage and FaceTime friends. How do I link his to the rest of ours so that we can still share our apps and music purchases? I had previously set up all of the devices under my I'd , since they weren't old enough to have their own. When we try to change the setting to automatic downloads, it states that "the device is already associated with an apple I'd", it then goes on to say that is i turn on the auto downloads with this new I'd that I cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different apple I'd for 90 days. What does this mean?. HELP this Mom, Please!

Just go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and redownload the apps and music by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions?  Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library.  We both use separate apple id's on our devices.

You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

  • If I create a new apple ID will I lose all the apps I have purchased with my original ID?

If I create a new apple ID will I lose all the apps I have purchased with my original ID?

I set up FaceTime and Messages on four different devices with only one Apple ID. I used the exact method that is described in the video that AnaMusic has provided to you in the link in her response above.  That method worked fine for my family, but you can create new Apple ID's just to use for FaceTime and Messages if you like. Many users prefer doing that as opposed to adding new email addresses.
IMO - using unique email addresses (like in the video) makes sense, because we (my family) all have different email addresses anyway, and it was very simple to add each family members email address to both apps and remove my Apple ID email address as the contact address on each device.
BTW .... if you are using your Apple ID on both devices - your phone number should be the number that is showing in the settings - not you daughter's. Did you set up the Apps with your Apple ID?

i and my brother have different apple id's but are using the single itunes library on our home PC.When i am syncing my iphone most of the times the apps that were purchased with my brothers apple id is also getting on my iphone.
How do i differentiate the apps that were purchased with my apple id and sync accordingly. As i want only the apps that were purchased in my apple id.
I am aware of the fact that i can click on the app and check with "getinfo" to see with whose apple id it is brought.but there are hundreds app which i cannot check one by one.
How do i filter the apps with apple id and sync?

Connect the device to the computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.

  • HT204088 How can I see all my subscriptions associated with my Apple Id?

I noticed a charge to my checking account for the itunes store that I couldn't recall making. I have two ids and both are associated with my one checking account. Checking both ids revealed my account was properly charged for a renewal of a yearly National Geographic subscription. I am having issues accessing this account but that is not this point.
I would like to know how I can get a listing of all subscriptions associated with each of my apple ids. I am hoping the subscriptions would be separated into another category. The charge could be included in the purchase listings but an additional category for subscriptions would be extremely helpful.
I intend to scour my purchases to determine what other, if any, subscriptions may have been purchased and forgotten about.
    Thanks,
    Vince Gallagher

How do i move a movie purchased with apple tv to my iPad

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • Your recent purchase with your Apple ID.

    Hi,
Whenever I update my apps or purchase a new app using the iTunes desktop client, I am sent a form e-mail automatically. The subject is always, "Your recent purchase with your Apple ID." and the email reads:
    Dear SlamSlam,
Your Apple ID, [email protected], was just used to purchase "App Name" from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
If you made this purchase, you can disregard this email. This email was sent as a safeguard designed to protect you against unauthorized purchases.
If you did not make this purchase, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.comto change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
    Regards,
At first this alarmed me and I quickly changed my password thinking my account was compromised. But I soon realized this email is dispatched whenever I update apps via the iTunes desktop program. It does not happen on either my iPhone 4 or my iPad 1.
I checked and made sure my PC was an authorized device, yet I still receive these messages.
    Any ideas?
I emailed Apple support but they reply with robotic, canned responses that are not even in regards to the subject I'm asking (they are misinterpretting my question for the standard iTunes receipts that are mailed, which this is not.)
    Thanks,

I also am using version 10.3.1.55 of iTunes.
If I recall correctly, I received the first e-mail on June 26 or 27, so mine have also been occurring within the past 2 weeks.
I have never been asked to enter 3 security digits when making a purchase or updating an app.  The only prompt I have ever received is simply to enter my account password to ensure that I am logged in before the purchase or update takes place.  I am guessing the 3 security digits are the ones tied to the credit card you have saved to your account.  I do not have a credit card saved to my account.  Instead, I just buy iTunes gift cards and redeem those so that my account maintains a balance.  I figure that's a lot safer than getting my credit card information stolen in the off-chance that I get hacked.

  • Purchases with iTunes cards for family sharing.

I would like to set up family sharing, but was just wondering whether purchases would still be charged to my account even if some members already have iTunes cards loaded on theirs? In my head, it'd make sense for the purchase to be taken from their credit if it's available. And once they ran out, if they topped it up, would they still be able to use their own credit? Or does everyone share it?

    Hi SnowyKC,
The family organizer is the one who agrees to pay for iTunes Store purchases.  To learn more about Family Sharing purchases, please see the inforamtion outlined below.
With Family Sharing, one adult in the family—the family organizer—agrees to pay for any iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases that other family members initiate while they're part of the family group. This also includes ongoing subscription purchases initiated by family members, such as iCloud storage, iTunes Match, and Newsstand subscriptions.
