E72 - One-Touch Keys Problem

Hi all,
could someone with an E72 try to assign to one of the one-touch keys (e.g. the calendar key) an application which is not one of the default ones.
When I try to assign one of my own applications, I don't see them (only the default applications are shown).
This was working perfectly on my other E-Series phones (E63, E55).
Is this a general problem or is it just a problem with my phone?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for trying to help me.
That was a strange problem. I had to change the phone language to another one and then back to the original one. After that I could choose my own applications again for the One-Touch keys.
Never had this problem on my other E-Series phones.
Anyway, problem solved.

  • E71 One Touch Keys

    Just got this phone for little more than 24 hours. The one-touch keys were working fine when I started. Now all, except the home key, doesn't work any more. Sounds like a E61i bug that I recalled some users were having.
    Anyone having similar problems and what's the solution?

    I think I found the workaround.
    I set the long press of my email one-touch key to create new emails. After I pressed this key to create emails, it causes all the other one-touch to not respond at all. The only way to get the other keys to respond is to remove battery and SIM card then insert again.
    I have 2 email accounts on my E71, maybe that's why the "create email" command didn't work.
    So I changed that long press to activate web surfing. It has been working like a charm since then.

  • E71 one-touch key reverts to default setting

    Hello,
    Could someone who has a E71 (or E71-3) please try this? I'm wondering if it's a fw bug, or something with my phone only:
    Menu->Tools->Settings->General->Personalization->
    One-touch keys->Messaging key->Short press
    Select "Camera", or "Clock" (I'm actually trying GMail, but maybe you don't have it installed).
    Go back to the main screen, press the Messaging one-touch key.
    I get:
    "Item no longer available. Restoring default key setting"
    I found a similar report for the E65 on the web (no solution).
    The local Nokia support asked me to "send the phone to a repair center" because at the support center they "don't have a E71 to try that" (!!)
    Mine is a 10-day old E71-3 (850/2100, Brazilian WCDMA band), 100.07.76 fw (no update available for its 0567733 product code).
    Any hints?
    Thanks!!

  • MSI GE600 touch keys problem

    I recently bought an MSI 600 laptop and have had some problems with the touch keys. Mainly, they seem to like to stop working after switching the laptop off and on, or hibernating it. Not after sleep, though.
    And by not working I don't mean only pressing them having no effect in Windows, but there being no reaction during boot too. Normally, they light-up for a moment if you press them even as early as during the "press del to enter bios" phase, but they don't even work then, nothing lights up. I thought it was some connection issue, a loose cable, e.t.c., but right before that they work perfectly, and I doubt just hibernating would cause a cable to move enough to disconnect them.
    The laptop has Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed on it, but it seems to be more of a bios/firmware issue.
    As for BIOS updates, I flashed the laptop with the 10a bios revision, newest one available, but, due to the site not having any info about that, removed the battery only for some 10 seconds. Later, trying to solve this issue, I reflashed the EC, same version as initially (18) and reset it by removing the battery for half an hour. Finally, I reflashed the bios to 10a again and this time restarted the EC by removing he battery for half an hour again.
    I've been unable to fix this issue by myself so far.
    Right now, for example, I left the laptop in sleep mode for the night, it switched to hibernation at some point. When I turned it back on, the touch keys weren't working. I turned it off, then back on, as they were still not working, I turned it off again during the configuration screen, then turned it back on and this time they started working.
    It's not a huge issue, but it's certainly annoying to have to restart my brand new laptop sometimes a few times just to get the buttons to work.
    Ah, right before the last bios reflash I was having problems with graphics switching - it would switch once, either to the ATI or INTEL card, and then refuse to switch again before restart. Reflashing the bios solved that problem.

  • N95 software update - one touch connection problem...

    I was having problems connecting my laptop running Windows XP Professional to the internet via bluetooth, so i updated the N Series PC Suite Software. Now I can connect to the internet via bluetooth but cannot connect via USB cable. The One Touch Connection Wizard only shows the bluetooth connection in the dropdown box, even though my USB cable connection is recognised in the Get Connected Wizard. Can anyone give advice how to solve this?

    It's a touch screen it's meant to be sensitive. You have a problem when the display doesn't shut off when you hold the iPhone to your ear.

  • WRT54G One Touch set up problem

    HELP!  I purchased a WRT54G ver8 so that my mother could move her computer and still connect wirelessly.  I can't seem to maintain a wireless connection.  Based upon things I've read on the community forums, I have disabled anti-virus and Sygate Firewall.  I reset the router (pushing the reset button and powering down the router).  I have upgraded the firmware.  The one touch setup button is frequently orange, instead of white.  Does this mean that I have to change some setting or could the router possibly be defective?  I know just enough to be dangerous, but I am no expert.  So please keep your responses in layman's terms. Thanks!

    You'd be better served manually configuring the wireless settings and skip the whole one button thing all together. with a computer directly wired to the router, open your internet browser type in http://192.168.1.1 Then click on the wireless tab in wireless security tab you can set your wireless security type. I usually go with WEP and 128 BIT encryption. You can type in a word and click generate You will want to print out the first key on the page that gets generated so that you can enter it into the laptop. Then on the advanced wireless tab at the bottom of this page the secure easy setup change that too disabled.

  • Problem with One Touch Access for N95 8GB

    Hi,
    I'm having problem connecting my N95 8GB to the Internet via NSeries One Touch Access PC Suite using my Bluetooth. I can connect via cable but bluetooth I cannot.

    I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
    In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
    For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
    Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
    In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

  • Problem with One Touch Access and N73

    I have:
    * Windows Vista SP1
    * PC Suite 7.1.18.0
    * N73 phone
    I want to use my phone as a modem, but after Windows upgraded to SP1 clicking the connect button in One Touch Access results in immediate disconnect message. I tried reinstalling PC Suite 6.8 from the CD I got with the phone and finally upgraded to 7.1.18.0 but the problem still occurs. Any solution to this?

    I've been having this problem for 4 months now and it totally prevented me from using my phone as a modem. But today I accidentally stumbled upon the solution for my case. I discovered that what kept blocking the one touch access from connecting to the phone was the feature called User Account Control, in windows vista. You can turn this feature off by going to the User Accounts. The last option there reads Turn User Account Control on or off. Open it, uncheck the box (Use User Account Control UAC) and click ok. Et voila!
    My one touch access worked smoothly thereafter.
    Let me know if it works for you too. Good luck

  • Problems with touch keys

    Hi
    I have a problem with my BB torch 9810... since last 2 weeks, my touch keys don't work.
    For example, when I want to delete a contact, dialog box appears asking me to confirm the deletion. I choose "yes" or "no", but with my finger, the touch key does not work....!!!!! I must use the trackpoint to select the "yes" or "no".
    I need to reboot the blackberry and the touch key are working again, for for a short moment because the problems come back again.
    I don't know what happened, may be I have installed an application which cause this damage....
    Thank for help

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    If the behavior continues, you may need to try more drastic measures (e.g., WIPE, reload, etc.).
    Good luck and let us know!

    Users have identified issues when connecting OneTouch External Drives to FireWire Ports on their Mac G4 and/or G5 computers. These Problems range from system hangs, kernel panics to slow data transfer rates. The cause of these problems has been traced back to the FireWire Driver. Seagate has resolved these problems through updated FireWire Drivers.
