E72 will only sync 1 way on pictures and videos
Hi all....bought an E72 over the weekend, which replaces my much loved E71.
Bought it home fired up Ovi Suite and noticed that it would only sync pictures & videos from the phone to the PC (XP) and not from the PC to the phone.
The location of my picture sync folder is: My documents/My pictures/Nokia Pictures and for the videos: My documents/My videos/Nokia videos. I have selected the sync folders with in the Ovi suite program but when I drop either vids or pics into these folders and press sync, ovi suite doesn't find them.
I then decided to take a photo using the phone, pressed sync and it appeared on the PC in the designated folder.
Any ideas?

iTunes does not import your pictures from the camera roll.
Since you are using Outlook 2007, I am going to assume you are using a Windows-based PC. When you connect an iPhone with pictures on it the default action for Windows is to open the Camera and Scanner wizard that can be used to import the pictures. Some software and Windows settings can interfere with that occurring. If that is the case you can go to "My Computer" and the iPhone should show up as an Imaging Device. Right Click on it and there should be an option to import the pictures.

You shouldn't, but all of this should be on your computer anyway.
You should not update/upgrade/restore/etc without making sure that everything is backed up. -
IPhone didn't sync correctly, lost pictures and videos
Today I sync'd my phone before doing a restore. The sync went fine as well as the restore. When I attempted to restore my phone from the back up, it showed that it was last sync'd at 12:54PM which sounds about right when I sync'd it last. Well the issue is that when I restored it from that file, none of the stuff I backed up was there. The most recent texts in that backup were from July 17th, but some of the camera roll photos were from two weeks ago. My dilemma? I had been on vacation the last few days and took some photos and videos, which are now lost. I went into username/roaming/apple computer/mobilesync/backup (i'm using vista) and it looks like a backup was created today but the data in the backup has a creation data of July 17th which coincides with the text messages in that backup. I wanted to know if there is anyone who knows of a method to retrieve my lost files. I used a friends Mac to open the .mddata files in where the backups are located but there are probably 400 files to go through. I called Apple and they really didn't help other than "compensating" me for my lost files. That does not get the files back though. I would really appreciate any help towards getting these files back. If you guys need any more of an explanation let me know. Thank you.

Will only sync a few songs and then says unable to sync
I have a very old ipod - no color, click wheel 20GB. Everytime I try to sync it gives me one of these 2 responses:
Attempting to copy to the disk "Kimberly's iPod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
The iPod "Kimberly's iPod" cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found.
Generally it is followed by another message saying that _______ song cannot sync.
I have tried resetting it to the factory and starting all over again but it still will not work. Any suggestions out there?Hi,
In my long experience this is an issue that Apple has never fixed since first introducing iTunes Match. I have had lots of music that has the same play issues as you describe in your initial post, but I've never seen them fixed.
I did identify a strategy that gets around the problem (sort of, because it is not always 100% successful).
I noticed the issues never appeared to affect songs I purchased in iTunes, only songs I'd ripped from CD, especially songs I ripped from CD years ago, when I ripped a lot of songs in mp3 format at 96kbps. It didn't affect all 96kbps mp3s, just some of them. I used rippers like Music Match Jukebox, etc. It was only later that I started use iTunes for ripping. I'm guessing there is an incomptibility between other mp3 rippers and iTunes, but that is just an educated guess.
My strategy:
I re-ripped (using iTunes) all my low butrate mp3s to Apple's AAC Encoder, with it set to Apple's iTunes Plus recording standard. This is the same as you get when you buy songs from iTunes. That was part 1.
Part 2 was to remove the old mp3 versions from iTunes and iTunes Match, and then have iTunes Match work its magic to put the AAC (m4a) versions in iCloud.
As I said, this strategy has largely worked, except I have noticed at least one song I'd re-recorded to AAC version that went silent half way through after I downloaded it to my iPhone from iCloud.
I do wish Apple would just 'fess up about how to get the best out of iTunes Match, or, just fix it so it works properly.
I live in hope, but ain't going to hold my breath anymore.

Yes that is correct: video files (mp4). They are not separate.

My phone number is same as phone that was lost. When the rep from Bell in Moose Jaw, sask all my contacts, text messages, and only some of my pictures and videos came through but, not all of them, it loaded my oldest pictures and videos. I want the latest pictures and videos, how do I do that? I also purchased 15 GB Icloud storage, when I go into the "Manage Storage" at the bottom of screen it says 12.1 GB available of 15.0 GB on icloud the processing bar has only moved slightly and just stays that way. What do I do to get all my pictures and videos?

How do I save pictures and videos taken on my i-phone to my pc or backup storage device?
Hello, I am trying to save my pictures and videos that I have taken on my i-phone to my computer or some sort of backup device. You can connect your iPhone to your computer and a Autoplay dialogue box will pop up, select 'import pictures and videos'. Follow the prompts and this will transfer your pictures and videos to your computer.
Alternatively, if your iPhone is updated with IOS 5, you can activate iCloud account on your iPhone, turn on 'Photo Stream', then install iCloud control panel onto your computer and sign in with your iCloud account and turn on photo stream.

My iPad camera photos will wirelessly sync with my iMac and iCLoud photo stream, but the videos do not, is USB connection the only way to transfer videos or is there also a wireless method?
Videos are not included with the Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
There is not a wireless method for importing videos from the iPad's Camera Roll. -
hi...the pc that my ipod was connected crashed and i wanted to switch it to my laptop now..the question is will i lose all my pictures and songs from my ipod if i switch PC's or is there a way to make it stay since u have icloud backup on my ipod. i really dont want to lose my pictures so plz let me know if there is a way...thank you
The iCloud backup does not include non-Tunes purchased music and photos that were synced to the iPod. The iCloud backup does not also included a few other things included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

free programs like iFunBox with copy non-iTunes purchased music and some other things from iPod to computer. A paid program like TouchCopy is needed to copy photos synced to the iPod to a computer. -
i have 5 devices all on one itune account.i have not activated icloud because i dont want it to sync all our information together. is there a way to set it up to only sync the music together and not the contacts photos messages etc
Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, iCloud doesn't sync music. Just set up every person's devices on a separate iCloud account and your iCloud data and photo stream will remain separated. Each iCloud account will need a separate ID, but it does not need to be the same as your iTunes ID. You can continue to share the same iTunes ID and maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs for iCloud.
You'll also want to use separate IDs for each person for iMessage and FaceTime. This will keep your text messages and FaceTime called separated as well. The easiest way to do this is to have everyone use their iCloud ID for these two services as well. -
Just got my iPad and when syncing photos will only sync recent photos taken on iPhone - will not sync any photos from my albums or events despite selecting all events or even when i select specific events or albums.
What is the file name of the video(s) you want to sync?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

I recently upgraded to iOS 7.0.3 and now my iPhone 4S will only sync purchased music to my phone from iTunes. Help! I have TONS of music that I have bought and burned to my computer, but cannot listen to it on my iPhone. This seems ridiculous!
Also, it's taking FOREVER (over an hour) to sync my iPhone to iTunes...

I created a new library so I can use it for just my music, but now my ipod will only sync to my old library and not the new one I created, even though I'm in the new library when I open itunes. Any solutions?
The point is that there are four i product users for one computer in my house, and not everyone wants the same music on their device. Like I said before, the ipod is not syncing to the new library even though I plug it in when the new itunes library is pulled up. It keeps syncing to the old library...

I have an I Pod Nano and would get messages to update my software. In my I Tunes I have 1,900 songs but after the updates it will only sync 933 songs. My current software version is 1.0.2. What am I doing wrong or is it something in the software. I have not done anything different in my I Tunes and all songs are checked. Could someone please help or advise me what to do?
