E75 - Battery Level falls drastically quick despit...

Hi,
since 2 weeks, the battery level of My E75 falls very quick.
The first 50% are use in 8 hours, and the last 50% sucked the next 2 hours.
Last week, i've tried to reinstall the actual firmware. this has temporary improve the battery life for 3 days.
I thought it was due to failing battery, sor i've purchased an original brand new one, fully loaded it Thursday evening and now, the folllowing Saturday, the battery level falls from 3 lines to nothing in 1 hour time in the afternoon.
I do not have changed my mobile habits. My battery normally live from 3 to 4 days and the level allways falls slowly in a continuous way.
I've the last Firmware installed on my E75 since a very long time.
Could it be a software issue ?
Is there any use to reset the device to "firm" status and restore the backup token with OVI-Suite ?
Could my device need reparation for this issue ?
Please give me some feedback. This is my wife's mobile and she really loves and needs the device.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Reinob,
thanks for your post.
There is definitely no background application running at all.
This is a pure Phone-sms usage. Only Bluetooth is on (since the beginning) for carkit usage purpose.
This is the reason why the battery low issue sounds to me very strange. Nothing has been changed in usage and habits.
This morning i made a hard reset of the phone *#7370# and reapply firmware and restore backup.
The last full battery load was this night so let's see if something will be changed by the restored.

  • MBP June 09: Battery Level Drops from 100% to 99% while plugged in !

    Hi,
I have noticed that the battery level (indicated in the menu bar) drops from 100% (after recharge) slowly to 99%, then 98% while the machine stays plugged in! I did not let it go further so I don't know if it would further discharge.
I re-calibrated the battery and this is still the case.
Does anybody know if this is normal ? I read on the web that this is due to Apple's battery charging algorithm ...
    Thanks for your responses!
    Cheers
    Rainer

Rainer: Your MBP's charging system is designed so that once the battery has been fully charged, charging stops until the battery level falls below 93%. Then charging resumes. All batteries gradually lose charge as time goes by, without any power being drawn from them by usage. A typical notebook battery loses 0.5% to 1% of its charge per day, even when the machine is completely shut down or when the battery isn't in it (as might be the case for a spare battery). A MBP in normal sleep will lose 1-2% of its battery charge per hour, as some power is used to preserve the contents of RAM in that state. In Safe Sleep, the MBP is essentially shut down and no battery power is used at all, so the loss of charge is limited to the base 0.5%-1% per day.
Under extremely heavy loads (high CPU/GPU usage with maximum screen brightness combined with bus-powered portable drive operation, for example), your MBP may need to draw some power from the battery even while AC power is being supplied. Prolonged use under such conditions could, in theory, completely drain the battery, in which case the CPU clock speed would be automatically reduced to limit power demand to what the AC adapter alone can supply. But the likelihood that you'll ever need to work your machine hard enough for long enough to reach that point is very small.

  • 10.5.8 won't show UPS battery level

I just installed an APC Smart UPS 1000 VA UPS to my Mac Pro server.  The USB cable is plugged in and the UPS battery is fully charged according to the display on the UPS itself.  The Energy Saver control panel is the APC preferred control method (they do not supply software for MAC OS X after 10.4) and all the controls appear as expected with the exception that the Battery Level indicator at the top of the Prefs panel shows 0% full.
I've unplugged and plugged it back in to no effect.  I restarted the server.  I turned off the power at the wall switch and the UPS ran the server with no dramas for about 10 minutes.  Nothing I tried had any effect.
There is nothing in the APC support site other than instructions for using Energy Saver panel.
Our power here has been pretty flaky this year and I want the server to gracefully shut down after about 10 minutes of an outage.  It won't work if the UPS won't talk to the copmputer.

Have you checked to see if another USB device works on the USB port the UPS is connected to?

  • How to check battery level?

Is there a way to check the battery level on the iPod Touch? I recently acquired a new 32 GB Touch, and the first thing I did was upgrade to the 2.0 software. I have been unable to find an option or menu that will tell me how much battery life I have remaining.
In looking around I was able to find that on the iPhone there's a Settings > General > Usage menu, but I don't have that on my Touch.
All I ever get is the 20% remaining warning message. Is there no other way to determine how the battery is doing?
    Thanks for the help...
    -Gary

Hard to believe they don't have something that tells you where you're at. The icon is okay, but is not as helpful as an approximate percentage or number of minutes remaining. I realize battery life remaining can change drastically, say if you start watching a movie, but it would be nice to have something a little more substantial.
I submitted feedback...thanks for the link.

  • Magic mouse battery level

My magic mouse battery level indicator doesn't seem to update. I view it under the BlueTooth menu, and can't seem to force it to reset.

It's definiately a somewhat expensive convenience. I think the battery door on the Magic Mouse isn't designed very well, and makes changing / swapping rechargeable batteries more difficult than it should be. I've replaced the Mobee battery pack once after over 2 years of daily usage & weekly recharging. I'm sure there are less expensive options, possible even as convenient, but I received this as a gift, and I like it with the exception of not knowing when it's in need of recharge in order to get through my next session without having to fall back to a usb mouse. For what it's worth, that's my experience.
    Thanks again for the suggestion!

  • The sync icon is constantly on-screen and battery is draining really quickly.

The sync icon is constantly on-screen and my battery is draining really quickly. I can stop it by re-starting the iPhone, but is this a known problem? The sync and iCloud seem to be working properly, but I can see the battery drop by about 1% every minute.
Sync is taking place over wireless, but even if I sync using the cable, the icon remains on-screen even when iTunes tells me that the sync is complete.

    Yes, iOS4, latest and a 3GS.
So, with the home button double-tap, those two apps aren't showing in the recents list?
    Nope, not showing: http://d.pr/CQnR
    paulcb wrote:
Did you reset like this?... press the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Did that as well, still the problem remains.
I don't know if I should really bother but I just find it weird and I think it has a slight impact on the battery time.

  • My iphone is currently using battery life much more quickly than inthe past, and it also has an icon tht is starying on the screen, to the left of the battery charge percentage, that looks like a lock with a circle around it

i have an iphone that is using battery life much more quickly than in the past, a full charge is going to zero in a half a day or so, with out much use.
an icon is also appearing next to the charge percentage in the top right, and the icon is a circle around a lock
can anyone tell me what the problem is, and what the icon means?

The Icon meas your display orientation is locked to vertical so it wont change when you turn the phone sideways.
First thing you should check with the battery life is multitasking, which also happens to be where the orientation lock can be turned off.  check out   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4211 and go from there

  • Do You Know Your iPod Battery May Fall Under Warranty Replacement?

I have the extended warranty on my iPod Touch. My batter life was horrible... without wifi just playing music getting just over 3 hours. I also had a bad MBP battery. Called up AppleCare and got case numbers for both after diagnosis. Was taking a long drive to an Apple Store with Genus appt the next day...
My name was called and my Genus re-ran the MBP battery check finding it at fault and went to replace it... I said that I was having an issue with the Touch battery as well. He said "You know that the battery is NOT covered under warranty!". I said NO, if a battery is faulty that it is covered under warranty. I told him that it was THE reason that I purchased the warranty... He argued with me about it and I just couldnt believe my ears... I said that all he had to do was go to the Apple site and find the Touch battery warranty description... He started printing out the MBP battery replacement agreement and we had another video test to run on the MBP... he went in the back to get a DVD.
As I sat there I started hearing all the genus say to every customer with a iPod battery issue say that battery replacement cost blah blah blah... no one was asked if they had a warranty or that if the battery was found to be faulty the battery replacement would be covered. One guy came in with his son saying the iPod was a Christmas present and the battery was only getting blah blah hours... Again, he was told that a battery replacement would cost $$$. It was surely under warranty but he was still charged! ***?
My Genus comes back and runs the video test with a Howdy Doody DVD, UGH... anyways... he goes back to return the DVD and comes back with something in his hand, unwraps a Touch and tosses it my way. I asked him what was up? He says that the original Touch battery is not replaceable so here was a new one. I said OK... thinking, why was he giving me one after arguing with me about the battery NOT being under warranty???
So, I guess it pays off to know your warranty with Apple products as the Genus wont offer the facts. Maybe this was just at the Cleveland OH Apple Store. So, wondering if you know that your iPod battery may fall under warranty and if this is a national fraud by Genus?
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB591LL/A#overview "3. Service coverage is available for battery depletion of 50 percent or more from original specification."

According to this page -> http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipod
Will the data on my iPod be preserved?
No. You will receive a replacement iPod that will not contain any of your data, songs, etc. Before you submit your iPod for service, it is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the data stored on your iPod and reinstall that data. Please do not send any accessories with your iPod as they will not be returned.
Attention iPod touch customers: Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPod touch and does not offer any data transfer service.
Following service your replacement iPod touch may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need to restore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check iTunes to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.

  • 10.5.2 doesn't fix UPS battery level display

I was hoping this bug in Leopard would be squashed in 10.5.2. Nope!
When I reboot, the battery level display in the Menu bar and Energy Saver Prefs Panel show an empty battery and 0% charge level even though my APC 1500 SmartUPS is fully (100%) charged. The only way to get the computer to recognize the charge level is to put the UPS through a test cycle which resets the USB connection to the computer and forces the computer to pick up the data properly.
This worked properly in Tiger without having to recycle the UPS.
    Griff

I'm getting the same issue, sits there at 0%
This is a real pain because I have it set to auto shutdown when the batteries get to 20%. Any power blip causes an immediate shutdown.

  • Flex 2 14 Battery Level Dropped from 57 to 7 in seconds

I've been using my Flex 2 14 for around 3 months. However, recently I've encounter a situation whereby my battery level had dropped from 57% to 7% in split second when I'm not plugged in. I was wondering could it be an manufacturing defect and what should I do to fix this problem?
Note: I use this laptop while plugging into the charger most of the time. The battery level is usually kept at around 55~60 only with the help of energy manager. Also, I had performed battery gauge reset once.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    SOLUTION FOUND !
I just found a solution to my battery issue that is apparently due to a bug on the latest update of Snow leopard (10.6.8). Parallels desktop that was in the Dock was making the Dock taking 100% of the CPU activity (checked in the activity monitor) using battery and heating my computer.
After I checked for such cases on teh web (see: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1181176 ), I removed Parallels Desktop and Windows Applications folder from the Dock and situation seems to be back to normal...

  • Battery level when out of box + real autonomy

    Hi!!
I just bought a New Ipad (3). When out of the box, the battery was only charged to 69%, is that normal? Right after I turned it on for the first time and set it up, the battery decreased to 64% after only 10 min. Do you think it has a problem?
One more question: when it says "up to 10 hours" autonomy, does it mean I can stream for 10 hours (Netflix for exemple) ? Or is it more the average autonomy for an average us (web + some video + reading...etc)?
How long can the battery last when streaming 100% of the time (such as Netflix) ? Same question for when watching movies that are on my ipad (no streaming) ?
    Thank you for your support.
    JM.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • ACPI battery level stops updating

    Hello,
I have a strange problem with battery level (displayed using xfce4-power-manager). At startup it updates but not very precisely (not percent by percent), after some minutes  it stops updating.
I thought it was an xfce problem, so I installed xfce4-power-manager-git. But reading acpi status and getting /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/ info reports same results as xfce. ACPI does not update battery level!
Why acpi stops updating my battery level?
    I'm using kernel 3.15.10-1
    xfce4-power-manager-git
    xfce4-power-manager 1.4.1-1
    upower 0.99

No one interested about this problem?
Now, to get battery level I'm manually polling using a cron job executing acpi -V command...
I've not yet found another solution to get battery level update working.

  • HT4623 why is my battery life dieing so quickly

I recently updated my ipad2.   Since then, my battery life dies so quickly.    I can use it once, close it, then open it again and the battery life is down 40%.    I used to get two days of life before the update.   I closed out all the "Location" request, the auto updates to apps, everything I thought was draining the battery life.  Why?

  • Why is my battery life going so quickly

I just bought this iPad mini and the battery life goes down 5% in a half hour. How can I get more battery life?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging).
In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.
