E75 setup mail account without wizard

I tried to setup a mail account with E75 to access our IMAP. However, it insists on running the setup wizard, which always terminate with"unable to setup account, try again". The problem seems to be, that the wizard does not ask for some specific data (authenticated smtp, over ssl, for example) which is needed to connect to our server. I know it is possible to setup, as I have done it on an other e75. If there is already an account, it is possible to add new account by directly entering connection parameters. However, for the first account the wizard is needed. I know it would be possible to setup a gmail account for start, but my question is: am I missing something, and can do the setup without the brain-dead wizard, or is it some kind of a conspiracy on Nokia's side to insist on gathering users for nokia messaging.
By the way, this and the ovi maps situation highly indicates me, that my next phone will definitely not be from Nokia.

I had things set up that way and it worked fine. However, last week on my iPhone, my bellsouth.com account kept coming up with "the POP server is not responding," but the account worked on my Macs and my iPad. I deleted the account and added it again. Now it seems to be an IMAP account (the POP server still does not respond). When I access the "advanced" tap in the setings, when I click "Deleted Mailbox" under "Mailbox Behaviors" it appears to show an option to leave mail in the server inbox but the word "Inbox" is in grey and not clickable. Has ATT changed its servers?

Thanks SniperKat but I don't know why for some reason the "NONE" disappeared...
I started to create an account and when I saw the credit card thing I just clicked back and back and so I closed the browser... every free app or something free I get it appears a window : " You have to review some of your information about your account" .... but I don't have an account yet because I didn't create it.... the only solution is to create a new e-mail account and go to iTunes store and create a new account with the new e-mail and be very carefull with the "Free app" this time...

  • Can't setup MAIL account on iMac no IMAP server

Can't setup MAIL account on iMac no IMAP server. Says I have wrong SMTP server. I"m using a iMac version 10.9.4.  MavericksHere is an example for you. I'm trying to set up Time Warner Cable mail account. I have Gmail, iCLoud and Yahoo mail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try setting it up with these servers: https://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/support/faqs/faqs-internet/e -mailacco/incoming-outgoing-server-addresses.html
You can edit the SMTP server by choosing Edit SMTP server list from the popup menu (Outgoing Mail server).

  • Cannot setup mail account in Outlook 2007

I cannot setup my @me.com mail account on outlook. I have tried the various settings, including imap.mail.me.com variations, changing the ports, etc. Once I have setup my account, I am continuously asked by Outlook for my username and password. When I try to click on the @me.com folder, outlook crashes. Strangely, iCloud seems to be able to sync my contacts without this mail account setup (!?), so I do have the iCloud folder.
Any help would be appreciated, as I am trying to sync my Vista laptop, iPad1, and IPhone3GS.

You know, I have an old e-mac running 10.4.11 and it runs mail just fine. Then I get to Leopard, enter the same info and it won't send or receive mail. I just tried to send an e-mail and here's the message i get: cannot send the message using gpcom.net
"gpcom.net" doesn't sound like the name of a mail server. Those often have names like "pop.gpcom.net" or "smtp.gpcom.net". What server names do the instructions of your mail service tell you to use? Are you trying to use a POP3 or IMAP service?
    no login required
That's uncommon, at least for reading of e-mail.

In Mail 4.6 (10.6) I'm not seeing only seeing Import Mailbox, no export. But Mail can be archived
Note: I'm not getting the Archive option with Cmd, but I do get it with a right-click.
    Archiving mailboxes
You can archive (create a backup copy) of a mailbox so you can retrieve messages if needed.
    To archive a mailbox:
Select one or more mailboxes to archive.
To select mailboxes that are next to each other (contiguous) in the list, hold down Shift as you click the first and last mailbox; to select mailboxes that are not next to each other in the list, hold down Command as you click each mailbox.
Choose Mailbox > Archive Mailbox, or choose Archive Mailbox from the Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear) at the bottom of the sidebar.
Choose a folder or create a new folder where you want to store the archives, and then click Choose.
Mail archives the mailboxes as .mbox packages. If you’ve already archived a mailbox, Mail does not overwrite the existing file but appends a number to the filename to create a new version of it.
If you need to recover messages, you can import an archived .mbox file as “Mail for Mac OS X.”
    Importing mailboxes
If you set up Time Machine to back up files, you can use it to restore previous versions of a mailbox or a message. Time Machine deletes older backups to make room for new ones as the backup disk fills up, so older backups of Mail might be deleted.

  • Setup mail account for MSN hotmail account - HELP!!

How do i set up my msn hotmail account for use in mail??
Can anyone help with the ingoing/outgoing server?
    Please and thankss!!!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I merely know the tool capable of connection Hotmail to Mac OS X's Mail program:
    httpmail
Hopefully that page will give you enough to get started. It is much easier to setup an IMAP, POP, or Exchange Mail account. If you can get one of those in place of Hotmail, and have your Hotmail mail automatically forwarded to such an account, you'd have a much easier time.

  • Import Mail accounts without Migration Assistant?

Migration Assistant won't let me migrate because the source account is much larger than the space on the target Mac's HDD.
Two Leopard Macs, connected via Firewire.
So I copied over the Mail folder in ~/Library. Then I imported the mailboxes (Mail.app -> File -> Import Mailboxes).
But that just puts a mishmash of Sent/Deleted/etc. folders in Mail's sidebar, it doesn't actually create the accounts. I have 5 mail accounts containing 6GB worth of mail, if that matters.
    Any thoughts?

In addition to the /Home/Library/Mail/ folder you also must copy the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist preference file.
Now, because you've done all this mailbox importing (not necessary) you should delete the /Home/Library/Mail/ folder on your new computer and re-copy the folder from your old machine along with the above preference file. Then when you open Mail everything should be present.
Of course if your mail accounts are all IMAP and you leave mail on the server, then all you have to do is recreate the accounts in Mail (no need to copy your mail folder if everything is stored on the mail servers.)
If you need to move other data:
Folders You Can Move to Your new Mac
From the Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
    /Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
    /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
    Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
    For FireFox:
    /Home/Library/Applications Support/FireFox
    /Home/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist

  • Deleting Mail account without losing old messages

Hi, I'm switching Mac Books and I already set up my mail account in my current Mac. Is there a way to remove my account in the previous Mac Book with out deleting all the messages? Last time I deleted the account, I lost all the messages. No need to transfer all the emails to the current Mac. My husband will be using the previous Mac so I can always check old messages. I just don't want my messages keep coming into his Mac because it will fill up his mailbox.

I didn't have the archive option, so what I did was to just save everything to a new mailbox and then edit the mail properties to my husband's email address. Thanks for the reply!

  • Delete E-Mail Accounts Without Removing Them from All Computers

I lost a hard drive on my MacBook Pro and had to re-insall Yosemite and all of my apps and data. I started setting up my e-mail using Apple Mail on my laptop, adding accounts to it. As I added accounts, apparently iCloud decided to add them to my Apple Mail on my work computer, an iMac running Yosemite. I do share my iCloud account between the two machines, but in the past, I didn't share e-mail accounts, except for my .me account and my work e-mail account. Now, I have all of my personal e-mail accounts on my iMac, which I do not want.
When I go to delete an account in Mail, it shoots me over to the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences. If I start to delete the account, I get the following message:
"Do you want to remove the Mail account “[email protected]” from all your computers using iCloud Keychain or turn it off on only this Mac?
Removing from all computers using iCloud Keychain will remove it from this Mac and “Name of My MacBook Pro”."
I want to remove the account from my work computer, but I do NOT want it deleted from my MacBook Pro.
How do I get around this? I'm assuming something is set up in iCloud to cause this and I want it stopped.

Okay then, you need to make sure that your phone isn't able to delete your emails from the server by accessing your email account settings and looking for the correct setting. As I don't have a CenturyLink email account I'm unable to point you to the correct setting I'm afraid. You might be able to change your email account to an IMAP account which might be a better option for you.
In the meantime, you can still read your emails on the phone and delete them later using your PC which is how I manage one of my email accounts (POP3). My other IMAP accounts always keep a copy of my mail on the server.
    Ray.

  • How do i renew my mail account without subscribing to a full.mac account

Does anybody know if it is possible to renew .mac mail without having to subscribe to a full .mac account?

    It's not.
They don't sell the .Mac services separately. The only thing that may carry over after your trial expires is the user name for iChat.

  • Trying to setup mail account

I am trying to setup my email account in the mail program. I have my mobile me email working in there properly, but my charter email is not getting setup correctly. Everytime I go to set it up, I get a message stating that "Mail cannot send my password securely to the server", and asks to continue or setup manually. I've tried both ways several times, and it never works. I've even contacted my ISP, and they walked me through the whole setup, and say its a problem with my computer settings. I know my password is correct, and have even reset it to be sure. I can get into my email account just fine on the online webpage and on my iPhone.
I'm guessing there is a security setting somewhere i'm not aware of.... Please help..
