E75 - upgrading to 21.12.01

Just when I think the E75 cannot get any worse (it has slightly worse reception than 2 tin cans and a bit of wet string!!), Nokia send me a OS upgrade that will "result in improved performance"!
Tragically, it continuously comes up with the great message "Installation failed due to lost connectivity; do not disconnect USB connection during installation"!
Now, whilst I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, even I can see that disconnecting the cable would not be condusive to a successful software upgrade, so of course I am not doing that!
Any suggestions, please? I am about to wind the clock back over 10 years and resort to my trusty 6150.
Thanks in advance!
Scott

just forget about the E75. Nokia has forgotten about the device.

  • E75 fails to upgrade firmware via USB

    Hi,
My Ovi suit tells me that there is a firmware upgrade to my E75. From 202.12.01 to
    211.12.01.
I have now tried at least 10 times to upgrade via USB cable but all of them fails before they even start to copy the firmware to the Phone.
I have tried through OVSuite, PCSuit and also with Nokia SW updatear stand alone but all fails with slightly different error messages.
Ovi suite 2.5.8se only tells me it fail because of a disconection withthe phone
PC Suit tells me that I can't connect the phone through an USB hub (which I haven't ).
The strange thing is that I can see that they are comminucation becasue both sw are able to identify my phone and also what FW I am using.
    What could be wong.
All the SW is that latest versions and I have disabled firewals + antivirus.
Also both my laptop and phone have fully charged batteries

What exact version do you have *now* installed on your E75?
Do you know which product code you have?
    Have a look here:
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/product-support/device-software-update/can-i-update
Please note that the product code written on the paper label may not necessarily be the product code of your telephone. If you bought it from Nokia it probably is the same. In my case, I bought it from an online store in Germany and the internal product code was not the same as the one on the label.. which is suspicious, but anyway.

  • Is there an upgrade for the UK E75?

Hi! I keep reading about the version 110 software being available but haven't been able to update yet with UK version. Has anyone got this in the UK yet? Thanks!

Some were shipped with 40.19.22 installed.
For all others the Actiontec site (pointed to right in the router for updates)  still 40.19.20.
    https://upgrade.actiontec.com/MI424WR-GEN3I/MI424WR-GEN3I.rmt
Note do not download and install the older version if you have 40.19.22.  It was and update for a chipset change, and the router will not function correctly if you install 40.19.20.  And those on 40.19.20 will not function correctly on the current 40.19.22.  Presumably the next version, when it comes out, will include support for all version I models.

  • Help! E75 new firmware doesn't work!!

    I upgraded to 201.12.01 firmaware.
Now I can't make any calls ("call forbidden") and I don't receive any calls.
Also the phone's menu is very buggy: when I choose smth in the menu I get in the wrong page!
I made a hard reset. The phone worked well for 2 hours. But when I finished installing all the software - it broke again the same way ((
What's wrong?? Is there any chance to cancel that new "improving" firmaware?
How can I get that phone work well??
PS. It was the last time I bought Nokia phone. I think Nokia can produce only "simple" phone models, but not a smartphone..
PPS. DO NOT UPGRADE A FIRMWARE IN YOUR PHONE!!!!

yep i gave the same advice to my friends: do not upgrade the phone. at least until the bugs are fixed.
We were promised by a new firmware update coming today, my main problem is with my GPS, it keeps hitting me with no connection, like the phone is totally separated from its GPS receiver, it worked just fine before with the v110 firmware, and Nokia  totally removed the satellite status which i found really useful!!!
this firmware is a real screw up for NOKIA i always loved their phones and updates, hope they fix these issues soon, cause i really loved my e75

  • E75 - Contacts. Problem with cache

    Hey there
I've got my brand new E75 and I'm quit happy with it but there is a very strange problem. When I open the contactsmenu and try to search after some names it shows me the errormessage that the cache will be bbuild up soon. I should try it later. But I've been waiting since yesterday and it shows me all the time the same message. Is that a bug oder a system error or is that the problem with guy in front of the device???
Sorry for my bad english ... I'm just a german
Regards from the sunny baltic coast
    Uli

    Hi Uli,
Please read through following  thread ignore there comments about simcard (that's pure coinsidence)
Most probably you will have to give it more time, but as usertein as it sounds - noone just knows it for sure.
Just for sake of asking - did you upgraded firmware to the last version already? do that if you didn't.

  • Nokia E75 does not support sis files

I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.
Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?
Can anybody help me ASAP, because I need the navigation evey day very badly?

I'v followed the directions of chanchan05 "Just uninstall the maps app, delete the folder and file I mentioned, then reboot your phone. Open the maps app, and it should recreate the qf file and cities folder in a version compatible to 3.03." on /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Wasn-t-it-supposed-to-be-quot-Navigation-on-your-Nokia-Free/m-p/668305#M...
Afterwards I installed the sis file you pointed me to and it worked. The maps on the phone were deleted, so I downloaded new ones over Nokia Ovi Suite and tried the navigation. Unfortunately it stills demands buying the licence for the navigation.
I guess this is because the recommended sis file is v3.01 and not v3.03? Is that right?
    Any other solution?

  • E75 Firmware update not found

My E75 is currently installed with the 100.48.78 version.
When I check this site using my productcode it now says that the 110.xxxxx is available.
However, when using the phone the SW-"search" (my phone is in danish and I don't know the english word for the application) teels there's an update available. BUT if I go to the devicemanagement to try and do an update it teels me after connecting to Nokia that there are no available updates ?!?!?!?!?!?!?
My product code is 0582105 if that helps
I hope that someone can help me.
    Best regards, Peter

     Hi All,
I'm hoping i may be able to help some of you.
I've been trying to fix this problem on my Directors phones for sometime now. They had the problem where by they would try to forward or reply to an email, it would say 'queued for sending' in the outbox then it would never send! I went through the process of trying to get a software upgrade through the PC suite and FOTA but with no avail, there is no software update for these UK phones (even if Nokia tell you, which is what they told me)
In the end i managed to fix this by getting the original configurations setting sent to the phone. This is basically when you get a new phone your service provider will send you congfiguration setting to save onto your phone so things such as WAP, emails, MMS work properly. Got them sent, saved them, phone works perfect.
02 for example, send the word ACTIVE to 2020 and you'll recieve the settings!
Hope this helps at least someone!

  • Upgrade from N82 to N?

    Hello everyone!
My N82 went for the 4th time to repair; after long time going and going, Nokia has decided to change the mobile and make the exchange with an upgrade (the initial and final problem was always software...first the contact disappeared then the messages menu disappeared and then just collapsed with the information to contact the retailer ).
Nokia Care suggested to change to N85 but I was kind of thinking of N86.
What do you all inteligent minds have to say about it? Should I accept N85 or request N86?
    Thank you all in advance.
P.s- I make a lot of use of the camera and internet (emails)

if you are going to change take the N86 or 5800 ,E75 (if you are e-mailing a lot) etc,
but be aware that any phone you are going to take will have issues like software bugs or hardware disadvanteges, so do your reasearch and pick the phone that is good and fits with your needs.

  • E75 does get charged via USB if attached to PC

    Hi,
I upgraded the E75s firmware to 110.48.125, now when I connect the phone via USB cable to my PC it does not get charged, earlier it used to get charged via the USB cable. Are there any settings that needs to be changed or has Nokia removed this feature in the current firmware?
    Thanks in advance.
    Anish

Yep - same error messages - looks like it can't find drivers but when I try and get it to search for them on installation disk it says it can't find anything more appropriate than current settings (which btw says does not need any drivers !).
Great so a few of us have the same issue. Does anyone have an answer ? Is there anyway of getting these questions to Apple or did they cut their support costs by replacing tech support with discussion groups.

  • Nokai E75 VOIP/SIP Setup for WLAN: sipgate.de - ...

Had problems setting up the VOIP Client on my E75 for the SIP Provider sipgate.de: Test calls to their 10005 or 10000 number worked without problems, but for outgoing calls to normal landline numbers no audio stream was connected through (ringback was ok):
    Setup:
       - sipgate.de configured via MENU -> CTRL PANEL -> NET SETTINGS -> Download
       - SIP Profile (user/password etc. )configured based on customized config from sipgate.com
       - WLAN (linksys or AVM-Fritzbox)
       - Provider  Tcom/Avego  or 1&1
After trying lot of different things & settings it finally turned out that deleting the NAT FW settings fixed the issue:
       - MENU -> CTRL PANEL -> NET SETTINGS -> ADVANCED VOIP SETTINGS
       - NAT FIREWALL SETTINGS -> DOMAIN PARAMETERS
           -> select sipgate.de
           -> OPTIONS -> DELETE PARAMETERS
if you don't have the "Advanced VOIP Settings" Menu, you need to load a special sip addon application. Documentation and application is available at
        forum.nokia.com
    Search for "SIP VOIP SETTINGS"
If the above tweak also works for other WLAN Router or even UMTS Settings, I don't know.
With regards to sipgate.de --> havn't used it yet a lot, but the good thing is it's not a standalone client, but as it's reusing the Nokia VOIP Client it nicely integrates into the phone (same contact list, button to choose internet vs. mobile dialing, ..
hope the above saves some people some time
    jo

Native VoIP/SIP is the main reason I was so pleased to switch to the E72 (I use voiptalk.org myself).
Until just over a year ago I had an N95, which also had built-in VoIP. I lost that feature when I "upgraded" to an N96 and then a 5800XM, but am pleased as Punch to have it again with the E72. It makes life so much easier having the same device acting as both mobile and "landline" (my entire phone setup at home is VoIP-based with Asterisk).

  • E75 email setup problems with 210.12.15

Corporate email and gmail have worked fine for a year, but after 210.12.15 upgrade started first to have synch problems. After shutting of the E75 it now loses email setup information and just keeps asking passwords. I have tried resetting to factory defaults and restoring phone data, but still not able to sync email. Trying to setup email from scratch also gives error message in the beginning and is not able to connect to the server. 210.12.15 included changes to the email software, so it is the obvious candidate, but I haven't seen any other people with the same problem?
    80's user

    Hi,
after repairof keyboard, E75/ FW 210.12.15 was installed. I've not only problems connecting to my home WIFI network for checking mail (MAC filtered and with WEP key), I also can't connect to Internet thru this WIFI network. Checked with another open WIFI network and did not succeed either.
I've indeed noticed changing some settings were not stored.
Aonther thread mentions FAT of memory card corrupted, letting E75 reboot spontanuously. Formatted my microSD card. Still rebooting unexpectedly.
I find it strange this version is not on official Nokia support site.
    Hope we can find solution.

  • E75 / Fishtext issues

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me. After getting my E75 back from repair for a damaged cover (I think they also upgraded the firmware as well) fishtext is longer longer able to connect (3g and wifi). I've been in touch with fishtext support but they can't help, saying its a network setting issue. But its not, as wifi no longer works either.
Does anyone else with firmware 210.12.15 also use fishtext or can someone maybe try it to let me know if its just my phone or a bigger problem? www.fishtext.com
    Thanks!

Hi, did you ever manage to sort this issue out. I cannot connect with a Nokia E72. My WLAN is fine, GPRS connection fine but the phone cannot connect to Fishtext. If you have any insight, pls let me know, thanks

  • Memory Card Problem E75

I bought a new memory card for my E75, but when i transfer data to it the data in it gets corrupted whether it is sounds images videos or what so ever. Sometimes it runs but rarely and then again gets corrupted. I've even replaced the memory card as i thought the problem is with card but the problem remains same with the other card too. I just upgraded my firmware but still the problem is there. I've tried almost all ways of transferring media to memory card but all failed. Please anybody can help where the real problem is? Any solution?

how do you transfer data to it?
do you use the USB cable or bluetooth or a memory card adapter.
if you use an adapter remember you have to safely remove the memory card from you phone?
If you use the cable at the end of transfer you have to safely unplug your device from the PC.
All the above could lead to data corruption.
With a problem as chronic as yours am not sure but if you take all safetry precautions, then its pretty hard to tell.
you could try sending a file using bluetooth and see if it works just fine.
if it does then mayb pluggin the card to the system: using adapter or USB cable maybe the cause.
If all transfers have been done using your system and not Phone to PHone transfer,
    Is your system Virus free?
