E8500 getting high temps in-game with MB P53 neo-f

Hello,
i'm a MSI MB P53 neo-f owner with an Intel processor E8500 (not overclocked/cooler box) and i'm getting high temperatures when i'm playing games. Everest/rivatune/Bios/realtemp shows me 55-60º Celsius in Idle  and ~103 ºC in-game. It seems there is something wrong with this numbers or compatibility with E8500. There is another problem with Bios information about processor multiplier. The correct E8500's mutiplier is 9.5x and it shows 9x. Is there a problem? Do i need a Bios update? Could you give me last bios update? Cause live update shows that my bios is the lastest version (v. 1.90).
Thanks!
P.S: I've already tried to disable EIST and Spread spectrum and then...nothing!

Which board do you have exactly?  (A P53 board does not exist).
Please look at the board and post model name (e.g. MS-7360) and PCB-Version (e.g. V1.0).
About your temperature problem:
Tools like Real Temp read the data they use to calculate the CPU's Core Temperatures directly from the registers of the processor.  Your increased system temperatures are most likely caused by one of the following reasons:
- very bad/insufficiant case cooling/airflow
- the heatsink is not making proper contact with the heatspreader of the processor
- you are using too much or not enough thermal paste and/or their are air enclosures between heatsink and CPU heatspreader
- the CPU Fan is not moving (not or improperly connected to the board and/or defective?)
What you should do first (if the CPU Fan does spin):
- take off the heatsink and clean the contact surfaces of both the heatsink and the processor
- reaplly a proper amount (not too much and not too less) of quality thermal paste (apply it properly as well)
- reseat the heatsink and quadruple-check that it is seated properly
- re-check the Core Temperatures when the system is IDLE and under full load
If nothing changes after this, open the case and put a room fan in front of it to create a maximized airflow accross the heatsink of the CPU.
My mobo is a P35* Neo-F
And how about the multiplier?
Thanks

  • [SOLVED]How to get higher Framebuffer than 1024x768 with nvidia module

    Hello,
when I first installed Arch it loaded nouveau module for my nvidia graphicscard during boot via udev.
Everything looked fine and it seemed like it was using my nativ resolution of 1280x800 for conole.
Now with "nvidia" it doesn't look as pretty anymore since it uses the vga=773 (1024x768) framebuffer
from the Kernel Line which loooks a little bit distorted on a widescreen monitor. When I run the
HDT (Hardware Detection Tool) from Syslinux it lists all possible vesa framebuffers but 1024x768 seems
to be the max. So why is it possible with nouveau and not with the prop. nvidia driver? Is there a work
    around?
Is this impossible because prop. graphics driver don't use the open driver stack?

  • 845PE Max.Does this board have high temp issues?

    Hi.
Does it?Because i bought the 845PE Max2 but im getting high temps and it hangs on me.
Wich is best of them.I dont want another high temp mainboard, hehe.

Can you tell me more about your hang?  I too am
experiencing a hang, as well as high temp readings
unfortunately.  I have done low-level testing of my
RAM with no report of errors.  In addition, I have
also run 3DMark2001 and it hangs when I run the demo
that has audio, however I did not get a hang when
    running the non-audio benchmark.
Since another board for you did the trick, I am
wondering if I should go the same route.

when round tripping with photoshop cc, i get a saved psd file with my original raw,the problem is these are high file sizes and taking a lot of space, can i stop this?

That's not the workflow that I use. I have my Lightroom preferences set to create TIF images when going to Photoshop. I keep the original raw file and the TIF image (usually reduced to an 8-bit image) and only export JPEG's when they are needed to send to a lab or to send to someone over the Internet. JPEG files are highly compressed. I only create them when they are needed, and they are discarded as soon as they have been used for their intended purpose. I keep the raw file and the Photoshop-created TIF in my library. This requires extra disk space. But I always have the highest quality files available.

  • Graphic corruption ( glitch) with high setting in games

when im playing games i have graphics corruption and glitch if i put graphic setting too high.
    i tried several games...
for example: need for speed underground 2:
high quality + 1024*768 = no corruption graphic
high quality + 1280*1024= no corruption graphic in the first minute after that time the graphic become worst. a lot of corruption very strange and after some minutes it freeze.
high quality + 1280*1024 + 4AA = corruption graphic even in game menu i only see the tires of the car lol and the menu text in corrupt a lot too. i tried to start the game and i only see 3 different color rectangle.
same things happen in others games with fifferent graphic setting.
this is strange because with my old 1600+ xp i didnt have any graphic corruption with my graphic card and my memory.  i played need for speed underground 2 with these high stting without any corruption graphic all my drivers are updated.

  • Lenovo G510 - High temps

Hi forum, i bought this laptop one and a half months ago and i notice that the temps are getting higher than normal.
When its idle it sometimes drop to 28C which is the lowest ive seen but usuallly is about 36C. When i open Skype, facebook game etc it can hit 83C with no reason. The cpu usage at that point is bearly 18%. My first thoughts are same, the fan is not kicking when i has to and makes the cpu run hot and then unable to cool it as  much as it should.
I hope someone help us because i started to get annoyed, i cannot stress the laptop atall. Even when i play a game in facebook i can hear the fans rpm increase.
    www.postimg.org/image/nsrxsavz1/
Is there any update that can fix this? cause its no dust or thermal paste issue and ofcourse no applications are running
    According to :
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-G510-Notebook-Review.117221.0.html
The G510 graphics core always clocked at full speed in the stress test (Prime95 and Furmark run for at least one hour). The processor only ran at maximum speed in AC mode (2.9 GHz). When performing the stress test in battery mode, the CPU clocked with 2.5 GHz. The CPU's temperature settled to approximately 69 °C in the stress test (AC mode).

    Check temps with hwinfo.
With tmonitor you can disable turbo boost which is a manufacturer hardware overclock and monit temps

  • Help on overclocking i7 860 on P55 Gd65 w/ high temp

I just recently resolved certain issues with my new build computer. So i now tried using OC Genie and cpu frequency overclocked to 3.41 GHZ with V core at 1.4 volts . I am already contended with that amount of increase however at 88% load the temp would reach 77 C at a room temperature 31 C. I guess that temp. is at a dangerous level so i turned off OC Genie. Then i tried to overlock it thru windows using the Control Center software provided by MSI. Under it i just went to Basic Overclocking wherein there are four (4) preset settings. I clicked on Game and the cpu overclocked to 3.116 GHZ and at 88% load the temp would reach as high as 68 C (room temp at 31 C). Temperatures were monitored thru the used of Real Temp.
I would want to reach at least 3.4 Ghz thru the use of OC Genie but those high temp made me reluctant to keep it at such speed. So at the moment i am just @ 3.1 Ghz and i am not even sure if at such speed or frequency that 68 C (88% load) is safe or not.
I changed my cpu cooler to a much larger one which is a Thermaltake Frio with 2 fans (push and pull configuration)  and even reinstalled it but still no improvement.
I have read reviews wherein many where able to overclocked to as high as 3.8 Ghz and even 4 Ghz with this cpu cooler with no problems regarding temperature.
At first i thought of purchasing a Noctua NH DH14 but to my dismay that is not available here in the Philippines so i settled with Thermaltake Frio.
My case Cm Storm Sniper  has enough fans but still the temp will still go that high if the cpu is overclocked to 3.4 Ghz.
I want a lower cpu temp so i can overclocked it a little bit higher.
Please help and thanks in advance.

That's a significant 12°C drop compared to your other result @31°C:

In my opinion, this proves that the crucial factor in your case is the ambient temperature.  And that means that the best way to get the system running cooler is to either keep the room temperature down or change the cooling method to something more effective @high ambient temperatures.

  • K8N Neo2 + BIOS 1.8 = high temp readouts?

I just flashed my BIOS from 1.4 to 1.8 hoping it fixed the wrong temp readout (you have to reboot to get the right numbers everytime with the 1.4).
With BIOS 1.8, my idle temp went up to 50 C, and in games its around 58 C, case temp says 40 C  , and ambient temp around 23-24 C.
Before,it was idling around 42-44 C with the 1.4 (rebooted to give right temp), with same ambient temps. I have the stock HSF, 3 case fans (one of them don't do much), specs see below.
Could the new 50C reading be actually right and the 42-44 C I was getting wrong?
If so, is the set up of my fans inefficient? (I'll post pics in a bit)

I think the mobo temps are just plain inaccurate in general. I have a XP90 w/ Vantec tornado+Nexus on a SanDiego 3700+. There is zero change in idle/load temp with it turned all the way down or up.
... It may have more to do with my current case being mid-tower with 1 120mm fan, and the old being a full-tower w/ 6 80mm.
I noticed that with my XP-90 too. When I first got it, I had put a 92mm Tornado on it that I had from another build & hooked it up to a fan controller to try to mitigate the "sound of leafblower". I got maybe a 1-2C difference between the lowest setting & full blast (between way freakin' loud & deafening! ).
I went to the recomended Panaflow - 49cfm (or thereabout) vs. the 100+ cfm of the Tornado & got the nearly the exact temps. The Panflow was actually 1-2C higher than "deafen" setting on the Tornado, but the decrease in noise was well worth it.
That led me to believe that the XP-90's design will only allow about 50cfm to flow efficently through it without some sort of cavitation/turbulance occuring (maybe - there must be a reason they recomend that fan)....
Or the temp sensor/software interaction is just plain whacked (more likely), as many nf3 boards report inaccurate temps in varying er,... degrees. This issue/theory has been beaten to death with no solid answer or solution in various threads since this board came out. The only way to really know is with a "real" temp probe other than the onboard garbage.
That being said - you will benefit from a case with more airflow than just 1 120mm fan & whatever your PSU happens to contribute. It WOULD help with your temps, no matter what the "whacked" board CPU sensor tells you - that's just physics at work. As it happens, I went to a larger (to better tuck wires & etc. out of the way), better ventilated, aluminum case in search of lower CPU temps (after the 1.8 flash) & still with no apparent CPU temp benefit - although other sensors elsewhere (vid card, H/D & chipset) showed a significant overall decrease with the bigger/ better case.
I'll admit to being still baffled on the CPU temp thing

Hello, I was hoping someone might have some advice for me. I recently installed an Audigy 2 ZS and have been unable to play any games with EAX enabled since (including the ones that came in my Gamer bundle). About 30 seconds after starting up the game i start getting horrible high pitched noises from my speakers and the game will act visually like its a skipping DVD(lagging hard?). The noises and skipping come in waves begginning about 0 seconds apart and progessi'vely getting worse so that 2 minutes later its just all lag and sounds like someone chiseling at a chalkboard. All problems seem to go away once i have disabled EAX in the game consoles. I have run the creative updater and gotten all the newest drivers, i have tried physically moving the card to the PCI slots at either end of the stack, i've tried seemingly every combination of settings within the MediaSource panels, just for fun i even tried different speakers. i've run out of ideas and dont know what to do.

ok, nevermind that last post. Ive managed to get unique IRQs assigned for all devices (took some re-arranging and the discarding of a few non-essential PCI cards) but the problem remains. Also, this was probably totally unnecessary because apparently part of complying with the PCI 2. protocol (which this card says it does) is being able to share ICQs.
Also, I have tried as many of the options in that knowledge base article as i could (some of the BIOS options mentioned are not present on my system, etc) but the problem still persists.
