E90 - attachments in Gmail

Hi all,
I have a problem with working on Gmail. When I try to download attachment I'm not able to do so. Also, when I click on "View" option to see attached image, browser opens new window but it doesn't display the image.
9500 didn't have this problem.
Any suggestion??

@mai0805
yes you can do this with pdf, since pdf is recognazable file type by e90.
BUT, if you have some other type of file, for instance Autocad drawing, RAR file or something similar, forget about it.
I was in situation where I needed such funcionality. I guess it's rare but it can happen.
Add this to the long list vmoisa: on 9500 it was normally possible to handle attachments of any kind in a computer manner (from e-mail client or web browser), download and choose the location to save. On E90 it is not.
I can't say I don't like my E90, but I really miss S80 also. Nokia, you have made a bad decision dropping it!

  • I can't get video attachments in gmail to play on my macbook pro.  2 month old macbook pro running lion. says format not supported

I can't get video attachments in gmail to play on my macbook pro.  Says format not supported.

What kind of video?  There are dozens of formats, some don't play on a Mac unless you have the right plug-ins for Quicktime.  There are some things you should download to help you out.

    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
These should cover EVERYTHING you'd ever encounter (though maybe not).  Frankly, if it's not H.264 or w4v (or both), it doesn't belong on your mac.

  • Can not download attachments in gmail

I'm having problems downloading attachments in gmail.  Any ideas?

I'll be honest, give up.  As many of us have found, Gmail on iPads is truly not compatible. Nor is Yahoo for that fact. Apple wants you to use their Apple Mail.
I have a new iPad 3 and testing it against an Android tablet. I have no issues on an Android tablet.  My issue is attaching things in Gmail.  For instance, only the pics folders will open, but only pic folders contained in iPhoto or those I've taken with the iPad.  I've got other files stored on my iPad with pics, and don't get the option to attach anything in them.

  • When sending attachments in Gmail in FF, my internet connection breaks

When I try to send an attachment of any type in gmail in Firefox as a browser the attempt stalls, fails and then my internet connection breaks. I've googled this and no one else seems to have this issue. It seems local to my desktop and I've reinstalled FF and tried the beta for 4.0 and it still happens without fail.
It doesn't matter what kind of attachment or size, this happens when I try to send attachments in Gmail.

For what it's worth, I've seen this exact problem from Internet Explorer 8:
    <br><br>
    1. start a new email at the Gmail site in the web browser<br>
    2. click "attach a file"<br>
    3. select a file in the file dialog box & click OK<br>
    4. network connection immediately drops. (I've been pinging Google in the background and the ping gets interrupted exactly when I click OK."<br>
    5. Network connection is down until I go through the Windows 7 "repair network connection" procedure. Apparently the network gateway is lost.<br>
When this happened, I tried attaching the same file to an email using a *different* Gmail account, and it worked. <br><br>
I think this is either a problem with the ISP (Earthlink / Timewarner) or Google. I don't think IE or Firefox is causing the problem.

  • Trouble downloading attachments in gmail/Firefox-IE

Since this morning, I cannot download attachments in gmail using Firefox or IE (I did not try out Chrome). Since I have this problem in multiple browsers, the issue seems to stem from my computer, but still I'd appreciate any suggestions...

I get this with all the attachments, though! Have a look at at the attached picture...

  • ? Can't print PDF attachments to gmail since installing 11.06

I am on Windows 7 and Firefox,  Since installing 11.06 I can't print PDF attachments to gmail messages.  I get a (false) message that file cannot be printed, because no pages have been selected.  I tried uninstalling 11.06 and downloading and insatalling it again,  Same result. Any way to download a backlevel version for the time being?  Would appreciate any other sugestions..

Disabling Protected Mode as suggested solved the problem.  It seems to me the impact of Protected Mode should have been highlighted with a warning at the download site.  Alternatively, and in my opinion preferably, Protected Mode enabled should not have been made the default. -shel488

  • I can't open any attachments on gmail, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix?

I can't seem to open up any attachments in gmail.   Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix?   Thank you

    Hello Jim,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with opening attachments in Mail on your iPad.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like this (you can skip 4 because it does not relate to the issue you are experiencing and any other steps you may have taken):
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
You can find the full article here:

If you get to step 5, I recommend backing up your iPad before performing the restore:

  • Computer shuts down when opening attachments from Gmail in Chrome

    Hi everyone,
I've been having an issue when downloading file attachments from Gmail--namely image files, though I haven't tried anything else. My computer keeps shutting down!
I'm running OSX Lion on a Macbook Pro with 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
The issues have persisted for several weeks now, following my upgrade to Lion. Could you offer any advice?
    Regards,
    Jim

It seems that this is the good old "I think it's 64bit" error. It tries to install 64bit components on your 32bit system. This specifically comes down to some DLLs on your system being missing or the wrong version, possibly even a hardware driver returning some false info (processor controlelr etc.) I'd check Windows Update and verify the SP2 is installed correctly. Also make sure your MSVC 2008 runtime and possibly .NET 1.1 are isntalled correctly. Verify in your device manager that the CPU is detected correctly and Windows isn't running in some sort of compatibility mode. if there came a specific set of drivers with your motehrboard, installing them alone might fix a lot of things, as then you actualyl may also see Windows Update install some components for the first time that may be missing currently...

  • HT4356 Why can I not print attachments from gmail on my ipad mini, it will print photos and anything from safari

Why can I not print attachments from gmail on my ipad mini, it will print photos or anything from safari?

For Gmail attachments, if they are PDF files (as well as many other formats) when you are viewing them on the iPad in Safari there is an option to "Open in iBooks" just below the tab you have open (at the top of the page).
From iBooks you can print them to a wireless printer easily.
    Hope this helps.

  • Not sending mails with attachments (Imap Gmail)

I've only Imap-Gmail accounts in my Apple Mail, and using it for almost a year without any problems. But since a couple of weeks, most of the time I'll send an email with an attachment in it. I'll get the Pop-Up window that the mail can not be sent, and that I can choose another mailserver to send the mail. When I check my connection, there is not a problem. But the mail is still standing in my Outgoing Mail and is not sending.
    Can anyone help?

I was troubleshooting my own issue noted above and tried to send the attachments via gmail's web interface (bypassing Apple Mail). This time, gmail provided an error message stating that the file contained a virus.
Since it was a zip of several Word docs, I saved them as PDFs and then rezipped, and Apple Mail sent them off like a champ.
Evidently, Mail does not have a method for relaying the precise nature of the error message that gmail sends (in this case that the attachment had what gmail thought was a virus). This would be a prime area for some software developers to tackle on a future version of Mail.
By the way, the files almost certainly do not contain viruses; they are extremely old Word Docs that have been on my successive Mac hard drives for at least 9 years. Too old a format for gmail to recognize?
Hope this helps someone who may be having the same trouble.
