E90 Communicator Keyboard country issue

Hi all,
I am living in Shanghai CHina and recently bought in HKG a Noka E90.
It has the English style QWERTY keyboard, however some buttons are assigned to Germn character.
Examples:
the "y" on the keyboardbecomes a "z"
the "<" becomes a ","
the ";" becomes a "oe"
and so on.
I googled for a solution and also browsed through the Nokia sites but could not find anything.
Can anyone please help.

X100e keyboard/mouse issues

Hi Folks,
I've been having trouble with my recently purchased x100e (running Windows 7), and I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me out. I've been looking through the forums and on the web for solutions, but no luck.
Starting a few days ago, I notice that whenever I press a button on the keyboard, a dialog box pops up to ask me if I want to display the Trackpoint Guide. This prevents me from typing anything longer than one keystroke, because the dialog box just comes back when I hit the next key regardless of pressing "Yes" or "No." Additionally, whenever I press a key, the cursor changes from the standard pointer to the scroll icon that would display if I was pressing the middle mouse/scroll button above the trackpad. Furthermore, the middle mouse/scroll button above the trackpad no longer works when pressed.
I have noticed that it is possible to disable the Trackpoint dialog box from coming up by clicking the "do not display this message" option, but the cursor issue persists no matter what. The laptop is hardly a month old. I use antivirus, anti-spyware, etc. I have tried updating the mouse/trackpoint driver and also rolling it back to the originally installed driver, but neither step seems to resolve the issue. I thought that perhaps I had inadvertently changed some of the mouse settings, so I did a factory reset on the machine. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue either. I did an extra factory reset just to make sure. I've run anti-virus and anti-malware scans to see if anything would show up, but nothing does. This one really has me perplexed. If there's anyone out there who could offer any advice, I'd really appreciate it.

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
Could you try doing a factory reset without installing any antivirus or antispyware and see if there are any keyboard/mouse issues? This could be some software which is causing a conflict with the mouse drivers.

U330 Diagnostics Program and Keyboard Sensor Issues

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I've been searching for awhile now and can't find it.
I was wondering if there was any type of diagnostics program for the U330 to test my cpu, fans and the general hardware.
Also i was wondering if anyone else with the U330 notices any keyboard sensor issues. Such as, I have to press firmly in the middle of the keys for it to register. Or I have to press firmly on the "T" or "Y" button for it to register the click. It's very bothersome and I was wondering if anyone else with a U330 has a similar issue?

What do you mean by testing cpu/fan/ram? You can test cpu by OCCT or S&M and you can test RAM by memtest86+
Regarding keyboard - you should have it replaced, it's a common faoult in some ideapads.

X201 Ultrabase Keyboard / Mouse Issues

Hello,
I have recently deployed 3 identical X201 systems with the Ultrabase to some of my users, they are imaged systems and should all work virtually the same but one is having an odd quirk. If he turns the system on while it is docked, the external mouse & keyboard he has connected to the Ultrabase do not respond unless he first opens the laptop and uses the normal keyboard / touchpad. I can't see any reason for this to be happening but I am hoping someone has come across this before, hopefully it is not an issue with the dock itself.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have an Adesso case with bluetooth keyboard for my iPad 2. No affect on performance. Keybord easier to use compared to on-screen keyboard. Plus it has more keys compared to on-screen keyboard.

Shooting video on an E90 Communicator

Hi,
The published specs of the E90 Communicator say that this device will capture video at up to 640×480 and up to 30 fps. This leads me to believe that it won't do so at both 640×480 and 30 fps, i.e. it'll capture at 640×480 but at a lower frame rate, or you have to step down the resolution if you want 30 fps.
Could someone who owns an E90 Communicator please confirm?

It looks the same as the N95 and N82 in that case. If so then it really is 640x480@30fps. Can you upload a short sample somewhere? I have the tools to analyze the frame rate, codecs etc.

E90 Communicator sold in APAC area support Arabic ...

I am at present the owner of E90 Communicator firmware Version 07.24.0.3 Product code 0544486, what made me don't understand why on the running of programme software of S60 3rd edition which do have a combination of English and Arabic characters ( fonts ) the entire English perfectly do the display, but none of the Arabic fonts are able to display (only display manies small boxes instead of the relevant Arabic characters).Is E90 communicator marketed in APAC site do NOT support Arabic Characters ( fonts ) ?? What I don't understand my former Nokia N series of N73 which was purchased thru the same Nokia Shop in APAC site was able perfectly do the entire display of the same software programme on both English and Arabic characters without problem at all ?? I am desperately looking forward to some advice how to solve this ?? Should I install a so called a "plug-in" to enable this ??

Planet 3 not working on nokia e90 communicator

Can anyone help me? I have a sim free e90 communicator and I have put in the settings for 3 Ireland. I can surf the web but I cannot get planet 3 working.

You won't be able to get it working.
Planet 3 is only available on three branded handsets. They block all access to users of sim free handsets.
It's a sneaky tactic that they use and there is no way around it on an E90 as three don't sell this model.

E90 Communicator and viewing movies - problem :(

Hello,
ive got a problem with my E90. When im using Video Manager to covert and send chosen movie to my cell phone it works very weard. Some movies working properly - others dont - other have only audio. no matter what quality i choose this situation is always the same.
I can convert and transfer one .avi and it will be ok - and next .avi will have only audio after RealPlayer shows me some that there are some errors with this file.
I try to use DIVXMOBILE VIDEO - and it plays my /avi ok - but no older mp4 (or if he play them the performance is very low). i also try to use SMARTVIDEO - and situation is similar - i can convert .avi to mobile - send like normal file - and watch - but i cannot see my older movies recorder by the phone.
Can you please help me how i can convert and watch movies with 1 tool (not 3 different programs) ?

Hi guys, I just discovered on my other Eseries mobile E71 installation disc there is video manager, I haven't install the Nokia PC suite for that particular phone yet because I already have PC suite for E90 on my PC & afraid it will replace or conflict with both existing suites at the sametime.
I am not sure if video manage will function with E90 communicator though they are both S60 3rd edition devices, they are of different firmware version & video codes all together. I only neede them to play the same format video files & I want to convert all my WMV , DSC , AVI, & mp4 formats to play on mainly my E90 & E71, not necessarily full length movies.:mantongue:

I just bought a Nokia E90 COMMUNICATOR. I noticed that in Contacts I am unable to search by Company name ,TEL ,FAX ..etc . So if I remember the name of the company I want to call, but not the name of the person, it is quite difficult to locate the contact details.

Edit: Just as an aside, I've been searching for existing contacts based on "company" info by creating a text message and typing the company's name in the "To" field. It used to bring up the contacts linked to the company.
I prefer Nokia Search though.
Does the new firmware now give an option to search for companies in Contacts?

I managed to find one PS2 keyboard that gave me enough functionality to be able to turn on the USB, then switch to a USB keyboard that solved any instability problems, no problems since then.
The only advice i can say is completely remove power, when you switch power on all the LEDs on your PS2 keyboard should flash. if they dont, switch off and then on again until they flash, then press the reset button to startup your computer.

I then hooked up all the absolute bare minimum components, and on power-on, and after several power-ons, the PS/2 keyboard did NOT flash, unfortunitly. However, I noticed the USB keyboard hooked into the USB slots DOES flash. I have decided to juist pay the shipping fee and have newegg replace the mobo. Better safe than sorry. I am sure if my PS/2 slot wasnt defective, the mobo wouldn't have given me a single problem and would be easy as pie to set up for my first build. I am confident however that MSI does make great stuff. I hope my replacement works as smoothly as MSI has a reputation for. Thanks for all your help.

E90 Communicator with Ovi Suite

To enjoy the convinience of manupulating my E90 Communicator contents from my PC, I connect my phone through Ovi Suite. The messaging icon however indicates that I have 18 unread messages but I have read all my messages. How do I clear the unread mesages count (the number that appears on the right hand corner of the envelope icon for messaging)?

I'm sorry for not being clear, I shall try to help if I can.
PC Suite or Ovi Suite will not be able to handle all the numbers in the way you require them too unless they work better than they used to!
I don't need the contacts I previously had to have because I am sort of retired but even during the heights of my business I never needed so many contacts on my phone (less than 150 for sure) - this was always my personal preference because I did not want the whole world being able to contact me on mobile 24/7, all but current clients and the most trusted could leave messages elsewhere.
I do come from a pre mobiles-do-everything era and so my views on being contactable non stop may sound and be rather old fashioned and if I needed to contact someone I would find other means of finding the number, such as texting or phoning someone who could give me the number anyway. Same with mutliple addresses and so forth.
Having said that if I did have multiple numbers or even use the phone to keep notes then I would simply set up the same company or person as a seperate entity and give entries a certain prefix. Yes, I am a dinosaur !!!
However non of that helps you and I'm sorry but I don't know the answers, may be some others here do, I hope so. A friend of mine uses an E90 (or used to do) but I can't get hold of the guy to ask.

I save emails on my PC from Outlook to a work file using "outlook Message Format". I have now transferred those files to a 4 gig card on the E90 communicator and those files are shown as .msg files which the communicator won't open. Is there download to the E90 that will allow me to open those files?

Since I'm not really sure what you're after... the following is based upon the assumption that you just want to be able to read these "offline" .msg files on your E90.
If what you're after is to be able to "import" them into the E90 so that the Messenger application can access them, I don't think there is a solution.
BUT if you don't mind using the Nokia Filemanager to view those messages, there is a potential solution:

Basically, the procedure is to (on your PC) rename all the .msg files into .txt files:
ren *.msg *.txt
Then to run a freeware script that strips out all the binary stuff.

I forgot to add: the resulting .txt files can be copied to your E90 and should be eminently readable by the Nokia Filemanager.

Late 2013 13" MBPr unresponsive (not keyboard/mouse issue)

Hi all,
I am running a 2013 13"MBPr with 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM and 2.8i7.
I have updated the firmware to fix the keyboard/mouse issue.
My problem is the computer hanging or unresposive when using other programs.
I thought this was a problem with Chrome which I use for browsing as I had a simialr issue with my 2010 MBP 15".
But yesterday it hung in Mail.
Apple Diagnostics was fine.
I have tried uninstall and reinstall of Chrome. I run a few extensions but have reduced these as much as possible. Only use Adblocker, 1password, Papers and Quidco apps.
I will try to reinstall mavericks and see how it goes. Hopefully I get some luck.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Well It came with mavericks and I will reinstall tonight to see if it helps.
Called apple today and they suggested a reinstall.
In the mean time I have put a refund order thorugh for this computer and reorded it. So I guess this will rule out hardware issues. The only issue is the same spec computer is only expecting delviery between 9th to 16th December!!!
So may be without a computer for a while.
Happy to read that you suggest only perfection as this is what I expect.
