E90, ovi maps (maps 3.0), search functionlity

hi, when i am using ovi maps, then i select 'search', and in search i select 'places', i start writing the name of the place. what happens next is like this: the screen starts dimming, dimming dimming till it looks like it just turned off. then the screen turns white with the nokia logo, and is like the device resets (urning off then on again, but without the hands animation). then it appears on the 'desktop' screen, but the maps application is not running. in summary, when using the search funtion in ovi maps the device resets itself, mostly every time

Hi voodoochicken, I just tried the seach function & it doesn't behave how you describe it, it gave me the option to select my favorite, like the previous poster advise you, reinstalling the firmware doesn't work pay a visit to the Nokia service point, good luck.

Is it possible to use the integrated GPS in the E90 with Nokia Maps WITHOUT connecting through mobile data and incurring data cost? Is there any other 3rd party GPS navigation software that would work like Nokia Maps, using stored maps et al, so you do not have to constantly download maps via your service provider, AND give you navigation instructions? As I understand, one has to pay for the "navigation" part of Nokia Maps.

I have a simple question : i'm using OVI suite to sync data with my N97mini.
I recently updated my phone with new country maps (via Ovi suite>Maps), but I can't find a way to delete a country map from my phone ! I just can add some !

Unfortunately you can't delete specific country maps, in Nokia Maploader application you are given the choice to delete all existing map data prior to update but that is all.

Ovi Suite Maps Download stops

Hello All,
i got the feeling or problem, that if downloading e.g. the whole europe (3,1 GB) or america (2,4 GB) map, the progress bar stucks at about 50 %. There is no progress after even 2 hours, I did even check 4 hours ... So I conclude that the transfer is stopped! However, the map file seemed to be downloaded completly on the pc (verified this by checking the network traffic in the firewall options). My N8 is connected via USB. So is it a usb transfer problem or some software issues? Any help here or someone noticed this as well?
I dont feel like clicking every entry on europe (about 42) and transfering it manually.
However, in general I got the feeling that the usb connection of the N8 is very slow.
In addition, I would suggest a way better progressbar in Ovi Suite Maps, that tells me the progress (something like X MB out of Y MB downloaded) in downloading a map file from internet, and uploading it to my mobile phone (also something like X MB out of Y MB uploaded, and in addition even a speed indicator - e.g. 3 MB/sek - so I know how long it will still take).
I also checked the update options of my mobile phone, but there I only can download single countrys, not a whole continent . Maybe a additional option for that would be nice, too.

Should not give any trouble..
I personally never had any problems with any updates till now... Not with OVI suite.. Not with firmware update.. Not with Maps update... touch wood...
so.. its your choice whether to take the risk (as you have encountered problem in the past..) but you can't get better without taking them too...

I'm trying to use a hashmap like this below:

the HashMap() does not exist in my API for some reason.
Can anyone tell me why this may be?
i'm using the hashmap with a stringtokenizer to search a text file line by line and increment how many times each keyword occurs.Sound efficient way of doing it?

Map and the other Collections API were added in JDK 1.2. for JDK < 1.2, use Hashtable instead.

i read the SAP Galileo Press Book "Web Dynpro for ABAP" and i try in Chapter 2 some exercise for Multi-Component-Architecture.
In this Chapcter i have 2 Components "Main" and "Nations". In one of this Components i created Node´s and Attributes in the Context of Component-Controller. After this i changed to the View and tryed to mapping the Component-Controller and View.

i think you missed mapping the layout with the context attributes....check out the property of all the elements in the view, if not mapped map it by selecting the attribute from the node.

"One-To-Many" Map mapping missing?

I want a collection of dependent objects to be loaded into a hashmap.
My example: A DocumentGroup (DocumentGroup) has language dependent parts
(DocumentGroupLanguagePart) for each language within the application
(Language).

There isn't a standard mapping for what you describe. However, you
should be able to use our Externalization framework to get the mapping
you want -- you'll just have to write a single custom method.

Here's what I was thinking:
- Keep the Java field as a Map, and keep the standard JDO metadata for a
Map (<map key-type="..." value-type="..."/>).
- Use Map.values() to translate the Map into a Collection of
DocumentGroupLanguagePart instances:

- Add the "element-type" extension to tell Kodo the element type of the
collection returned by Map.values():

DocumentGroupLanguagePart. Follow the docs for how to mark this in your
metadata.
- Keep the "inverse-owner" extension as is for the sake of the 1-many.
And finally, note that you'll get much better performance if you make
sure to include DocumenatLanguagePart's "language" field in its
default-fetch-group.
Complex externalization is a relatively new feature, and if you take
this suggestion you'll probably be the first test of a really
interesting use case. So please let us know if you have any problems,
or if you are successful too.

(Managed) Inverse relations and map mapping

Hi.
Is there any limitation in using (managed) inverse relations together
with map mapping? I've tried to setup my test model like this: a single
City object holds references to many Street objects. City has "name"
attribute , collection named "streetsList" (1-n with Streets) and map
named "streetsMap"(n-to-many map with Streets). Street objects have just
simple "name" attribute and single "city" reference to City object.
What I'd like to achieve is have Kodo to set inverse relation on Street
object (relation "city") when I put Street object into City's
"streetsMap". This works fine when using collection ("streetsList") but
doesn't seems to be working when map-mapped relation field is in use.
How do I use Kodo's inverse relations manager with map fields?
Everything is OK when I set the inverse side of relation manually
(setting Street.city field when putting Street to City.streetsMap) - but
I'd like InverseManager to do it!

As per our requirement if there is "0001 -unique constraint violated" error while replication the insert record should be update in target table .So I have used
UPDATEINSERT statement iin macro and it goes to the same main table but for others it has mapped to EXCEPTION table prodf0911_EI , so the record will go to exception table .But we need the record should go to main table and insert record should update in target table only in case of 0001 - unique key constraint violated error.

1) A class MyObject having a Map<AttributeType, AttributeValue>, with
AttributeValue having intValue and stringValue.
2) Three tables: MY_OBJECT, ATTRIBUTE_TYPE and MY_OBJECT_ATTRIBUTES.
MY_OBJECT_ATTRIBUTES is a join table with columns
MY_OBJECT_POID (FK to MY_OBJECT)
ATTRIBUTE_TYPE_POID (FK to ATTRIBUTE_TYPE)
INT_VALUE
STRING_VALUE
My question is: which kind of map mapping should I use (if one exists) ?
The many-to-many map mapping seems to way to go, but AttributeValue is a
second class PC object. It has no identity.

1. suggestion : to check for proxy setting.
i dont know how to set proxy setting but i provided my ovi credentials in - ovi suite- tools- options- general tab - proxy
but my problem is still there..
2. suggesation : to delete the old certificate from the internet explorer
if you can please specify the certificate name or group because i cant find any in there
i use - IE & FireFox browsers - i checked in both Certificate - but cannot find any old certificate related to Ovi ..

XI Message Monitoring - Mapping custom fields for search in monitor?

Is it possible to map a reference field so that searching for a specific message is more user friendly?
For example, we produce hundreds of outbound SHPMNT04 messages each day. Would it be possible to map a field such as E1EDT20.TKNUM (Shipment Number) to a field in the monitor (SXMB_MONI) such as "Outbound Reference" so we can easily search on this field?
Currently we use a combination of WE09 and IDX5 to find a specific message. Obviously, this is cumbersome and time-consuming.

External URL Mapping and Full-Text Search Generation

I have a dilemma,
I can map external URL all fine e.g.

but the html files are not contained in the local directory, and thus the jhindexer is unable to (as far as i know anyway) generate full-text search using the externally linked html files
also from using a decompiler I have found that you can "force" it to generate the help for external urls (as the indexer prefixes all urls with the "file:" protocol, but I can only get this to work under debug mode, else it gives a heapSpace exception, so I wish to avoid having to do anymore unneccesary digging/decompiling.
Also just as a gripe, why is most of the java help source code unavailable, and the Indexer seems to be very inflexible (ontop of not having any documentation)

That's the way it worked in X4 and later versions up but not including RH8. RH8 includes phrase searching in webhelp.
