Frankly I don't think Nokia can replace the metal housing, unlike those of plastic.
everything on the E90 from the smallest screw to the biggest part can be replaced, and any official nokia care center should be able to get you the part(s) needed, not all parts are probably on stock, but they can sure get it for you, and should be able to replace it for you for that matter...
there are place in the web where you can see a fully disassembled E90...

  • Will Apple Repair? Latch Paint Peeling off

The paint on my latch has started to peel off and it's quite unsightly. My MBP is only 7 months old. Will Apple fix this?

My MPB has the same issue. In addition, the paint on my left palm rest is also starting to speckle. My Apple store had no problem replacing the top shell for the palm and informed me that to replace the bottom shell for the button would require them to gut my MBP. Being I have Apple Care I am going to hold off on the palm rest or top shell replacement until near the end of Apple Care. At that point I might get the bottom shell replaced as well, but am worried a bit.
Anyway, my point is: Take it to the Apple Store and ask nicely!

  • Iphone 5 paint peel off here as well

Just out of the box, nothing touched and noticed that I have 3 paint job problem.
I guess it came during the production process. peel of in first pic looks more likely that paint never sit on it, not like normal scratch.
second pic is very obvious scratch.
Will apple fix this issue for me? i hope so because I did not even activated my phone yet since I noticed those paint job problem during unboxing.!

The same here, just 4 hrs after I opened the box.
BTW, is there anyone has rattling noise problem?
Here is my post about it

  • Peeling off paint of E90

My less than six (6) months old E90 cover paint has peeled.
However, I had yesterday visited Nokia Care Centre at 13 Amodu Ojikutu Street Victoria Island, Lagos where the front desk Officer, told me that Nokia only cares for the push buttons and not when the paint is peeling as has been my experience.
All my effort to convince her that it not normal for it to peel did not yeild any result. I bought the E90 barely 6 months ago.
No doubt that I have in the past used different Nokia brands starting from my old reliable 8800 and have never experience this before.
What can I do now as I am not happy at all.

    Michaels (Nokia)
I beg to differ.  My E90 started peeling less than 6 months after I bought it in Aug 2008.
    See pictures.
For a premium phone like E90, used by business leaders, this is not acceptable quality.  It has not happened to any of my previous phones.

  • IPhone 6 plus paint peeling, anyone?

Anyone facing similar problem of the paint coating peeling off without any dropping, hits or bumps?
I got my set barely passed a month and had used it with a cover to protect the back. To my horror, when I recently remove the phone from the cover for cleaning, I had to see this. (attached photo, bottom left)
Went to the authorised service centre, A.Lab, which service sucked. Nothing can be done. I am beginning to wonder if I should switch over to Android devices which cost much lesser than Apple

It looks to me that the case you used had some slippage and abraded the iPhone. Apple does not replace iPhones under warranty for cosmetic reasons, keep it in your case and it won't be visible anyway.
That is your choice, switch to an Android device if you wish. I doubt any of the volunteers who participate here will care one way or another.

  • Why Peeling Off

The Latch paint of my laptob is getting away and this is 1 year old computer what  a shame!. You are paying more than 1,500 dollars and you get this. I have used the 2009 MAcBook Pro which I had  the same problem as well. It looks awful.

  • Peel off hourly output value and subtract from previous hours (then write to file)

Here is another problem I have been working with and what I have tried so far.  Right now, my current VI is writing data to an excel file at a point every second.  I would LIKE peel off a point from this datastream once every hour and subtract it from the previous hour's value and write an hourly value to an excel file (same file or different file is ok).  I was working with a guy here at my university who had some ideas to use the Elapsed time function.  I have included a screenshot of the part of the VI containing the function we were working on.  We never could get it to work quite right.  We were having some problems getting the shift registers to work (used to subtract the current hour's value from the previous hour's value).  Let me know if you have any ideas, if maybe we are on a good pathy, or maybe I should try something altogether different.  I'm just looking for a simple solution at this point.
    Thanks,
    Jeremy
The local variable "Total Consumption" is the data stream off of the hourly values are being taken.  Currently (not shown in this screen shot), the value of "Total Consumption" is combined with the other channels into one signal that is fed into the "Write to Measurement File" VI (shown at the right).

You have a true constant wired to your stop button for the loop, which means the loop will only run once.
You may want to consider the positions of the previous and current indicators inside that loop.  It's not clear how you want them to function.  The previous indicator doesn't get updated until right as the elapsed time occurs.  The case structure gets executed, and you will immediately have a new previous value calculated, but you won't see that again until the end of the next hour.  Not sure if you are updating the current value in the false case as well.  Otherwise that would look like stale data for an hour.  If you are updating it in the other case, than you should move the local variable and the indicator completely out of the case structure and only pass in the wire to the subtraction function.

  • Which case WON'T peel off my GhostArmor screen protector!?

I know there's a lot of discussion about this already, but I was wondering if anyone has advice on which free case to go with that hopefully will NOT peel off the corners of my Ghost Armor full body protector. I have tried NUMEROUS silicone cases so far, off-brands i can't remember, but from Best Buy. They all have peeled the corners off my front & back protectors!!! SO annoying since the Ghost Armor cost me about $35. I can easily replace each side for only $5 but I want to do that after I finally settle on a case. I've been going without a case, just the Ghost Armor, and have fallen in love with the sleekness of it.
HOWEVER i did drop my phone already and actually chipped the corner a little. Not a biggie, i'm prone to doing that kind of stuff.
I like the look of the Griffin Motif Diamonds/Smoke. I previously owned a case like this i bought from Apple in June for my 3Gs, and it's edges were so smooth, not sharp, that my screen protector never peeled. My old diamond case had smaller diamonds so it "sparkled" more, not like these big huge obvious diamonds. Leaning toward this one since I liked my old one so much, but it wasn't a Griffin. I have bought a pink silicone diamond case from best buy, and it was soooo hard and it peeled the edges right back. Also left an indent/impression of the diamond designs on the back protector. eeew.
Also looking at the bumper, but bummed because it's only in black - then i'd have a super plain black phone. However, all i seem to need is something rubber around the edges when i drop it! LOL
The Speck fabric/hard case is cool, but it looks a little too bulky.
The Incase snap cases are neat looking also- and i'm thinking the snap design would be easier on protectors....?? But they're just a tad boring.
Decisions, decisions....Any advice or thoughts are much appreciated!

I didn't like the anti-glare one I bought from ebay, took the beauty from the screen. So I had ZAGG put on, at best buy. I was told to wait 24 hrs before putting the gel case back on and so I did... I put it back on perfectly and guess what? Within like 10 mins the corners started to get bubbles. I was so mad! Ugh so I returned it and got a refund but minus the $7.99 best buy charges to put on the protector. I was ripped off and lied to! I would like to know also which screen protector will stand a case on? I never had problems with the regular clear ones that r like a sticker.. I just wanted extra protection for my iphone 4.

  • Can the menu/forward/backward/pause be scratched/peeled off?

to prevent scratches i usually put some packing tape on wherever need be (cell phone screens, etc)
I was thinking of doing the same as it has done a great job for me in the past, but i don't want to be peeling off any of the clickwheel as well.
can someone confirm that the clickwheel isn't a decal sprayon?

OK, I'm going the applescript route. When I run the script within automator, it works fine. However, when I run the script from a menu as a service, it has no effect at all on iTunes. I must be missing something.
    Here's my script:
    tell application "iTunes"
if player state is stopped then return
              try
set player position to (get player position) + (-5)
              end try
    end tell

  • Problem of the anti-glare coating on 15" Macbook Pro display peeling off?

Hi, bought my Macbook Pro 15" with Retina display about a year ago. Recently discovered the anti-glare coating peeling off, leaving ugly 'bald' spots on the screen bezel sides (thankfully, not in the main display area!). Only use the provided polishing cloth to clean the screen of any fingerprints, etc. Once in a while, I do wet the cloth with a drop or two of water to get rid of more stubborn marks. I've stopped cleaning the screen with the cloth.
Anyone else faced the same problem? How did you resolve it?

Same problem here with a 2013 MBP 13''.
Seems to be common and might be covered by warranty: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1729779

  • Whenever my Imac sleeps, my screen freezes/cursor "peels" off current screen

Since downloading Moutain Lion (10.8.1) after my computer goes to "sleep", when I awake it, the screen is frozen.  The cursor does not operate correctly, rather it peels off the screen, revealing a screen underneath.  I have to restart to resume normal operation.  One very friendly Apple support staff had me verify disk and address permissions; it did not help.  Another seemed confused by my question and wasn't helpful.  Any ideas?

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • W520 Paint Rubs Off

    Hello everyone!
My W520 is only a couple weeks old, and already the paint on all four top corners has completely rubbed off (the corners are shiny) and there is a smudge on the top of my computer of permanently rubbed-off paint. I'm EXTREMELY careful with my laptop and the only wear and tear it gets is when I carefully place it in my Northface backpack (with a soft built-in laptop sleeve) for transportation. After hearing so much about Thinkpad quality and durability, I'm really surprised the paint began rubbing off after a couple days.
Has anyone else had these problems (so quickly after purchasing)? Is there a possibility that the paint on my W520 is a bad batch?
    Thank you!
    - Michael
P.S. Other than the bad paint, the laptop is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to others. I've been an Apple user for 10 years and this is my first PC since then and I'm very happy with the performance... Just not the build quality. If Lenovo uses better quality materials, I would probably try to talk the entire applied mathematics deparment at my university to switch away from Apple. Seriously, this thing is blazingly fast and cuts through numerical computations on MATLAB and C!

    Hi Michael:
I've had about half a dozen ThinkPads over the last 15 years.  My experience has been that there will be a very tiny amount of 'rubbing off' (wear) of the paint in the corners after about 3 years of use.  By 'tiny amount', I mean maybe a small spot that is about 1 mm in diameter in each corner.
I just purchased a new W520 (got it about 6 weeks ago) and I have been carring it around in a fairly tight-fitting Targus bag that I keep in the saddlebag of my motorcycle.  In the last 6 weeks, I have ridden about 3,000 kilometers around Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece with the ThinkPad in my saddlebag - and there is no evidence of any wear at all on the ThinkPad.  The roads are pretty poor in some of these countries, with lots of potholes and bumps...
What I am getting at is this:  If you are seeing paint coming off of the top corners of your ThinkPad (this implies the top corners of your screen), then your laptop must be abrading (rubbing) against the inside of the sleeve that you carry it in, and the material on the inside of the sleeve is kind of working like sandpaper against the finish on the outside of the screen.
When we (as users) think about protecting our laptops with sleeves, bags, backpacks, etc., I think we normally think about protecting them from impact and from 'bumps' - but, if the sleeve is even a tiny bit bigger than the laptop itself, or if the laptop is not held securely (unable to move) in the bag or backpack, the corners of the laptop are going to rub against the protective container.  Depending on what the material is inside the protective container, the results may be nothing at all (if the material is soft and smooth) or abrasion of the paint (if the material has texture to it, or especially if the material is a woven synthetic fibre).
Because of the rather extreme conditions my laptop experiences (in the motorcycle saddlebag), I have made sure that it is a snug fit into the protective bag, and can't move around inside the protective bag.  Hence - no abrasion, no wearing off of the paint.
Hope this information provides you with useful food for thought.
    Michael
