E90 synchronisation issue

Hi all:
Just recently acquired an E90 from O2; replacing a crashed Xda Exec and I have to say that this is one occasion that I am grateful for the crash. The E90 leaves everything I've ever handled in the dust (a major concession as a one-time die-hard Psion user) but...
there's just one small problem:
I seem to be having difficulties getting the tasks to synchronise properly with my Outlook 2002 on the home Pc *and* the Outlook 2003 on my office PC.
Specifically, I have set PC Suite (latest version 85_14_1) to prefer the E90 when there are clashes between it and the PC because the E90 is where I keep the stuff updated in real time. However PC Suite or Outlook is not recognising cancelled, deleted or updated items on the E90 so I end up with a whole duplicate but out-of-date set of task data being put on the E90, and then echoed on the PC's outlook. Which, as you can imagine, makes it very difficult to keep a coherent record of what tasks have been fulfilled and which haven't.
Has anyone seen this before, and can anyone come up with any suggestions or known solutions?

Okay all is well!
I just noticed for the first time since the keypad failures began, that my camera shutter button was depressed at an odd angle and stuck in the "engaged" position.   It must have been like this for several days.
Once I wiggled it back to it's normal position, the external keys on the E90 returned to normal functionality!
This makes sense since for the first few minutes after a hard reset or re-flash, the keys would work fine, only to malfunction after a few minutes. It must be that when the camera shutter key is held down for too long without the camera app running, things can go screwy with the keypad.
The internal keypad was unaffected since all camera buttons are disabled when the E90's cover is opened!
To any other E90 owners:   Please keep an eye on the awful spongy little shutter key, especially if your external keypad starts acting wonky.

I'm experiencing major synchronisation issues on ICloud, especially for documents created on my Mac in pages, keynote and numbers. Contacts and agenda items work fine. I checked all my account settings. But while I can upload documents from my MAC onto ICloud, they don't show on my IOS devices (whereas previously this worked without issues).

On this Mac I did move all the visible iCloud documents out of iCloud, into another folder, then disabled syncing, exactly as you suggested. But there were, apparently, documents remaining in my Mac's local iCloud store, "~/Library/Mobile Documents/" that I could not see (so could not remove). The Pages file "CSU-PD-UN1.pages" was one such document.
The act of disabling iCloud's document sync'ing, in System Prefs, just renames the local "iCloud" store to "~/Library/Mobile Documents/<appleid#>/" effectively shielding the it from the sync'ing mechanism. Looking at this renamed folder (the screenshot above) revealed that "CSU-PD-UN1.pages" (and other files) had not been removed; it would be reasonable to assume that one, or more, of these "undeletable" files were related to my original problem, and when I re-enabled doc sync'ing, those bad files would just clog up the works again.
So I deleted them with the Finder on both Macs (the other Mac had bad files too, but different ones), then re-enabling sync'ing on the two Macs and doc sync'ing between the Macs (and iCloud.com) appears to now work as intended.
Sadly, iOS devices (iPhone and two iPad) now do not sync at all. Newly created documents do not migrate to any other devices, and documents on other devices do to migrate to the iOS devices.
Your suggestions have certainly done some good, but something is now keeping my iOS devices out of the the iCloud doc sync'ing process. I suspect it's a similar problem as the Macs had ("invisible" files gumming up the works), so I'm going to apply some nasty tricks to explore the iOS devices file system and see if I can find them, and delete them by brue force.

IMAP Synchronisation Issue

What it is, I manage two VPS and have them linked to my Outlook 2013 Software. One of the VPS works absolutely fine in retrieving and sending mail, however the alternative VPS (with its own Outlook Profile), is able to send mail however cannot retrieve
mail from the inbox on the VPS. I get an error message saying there is a Synchronisation issue. To the best of my knowledge, both VPS have the same settings. I have spoken to my ISP who have stated that there is nothing wrong with the server
but then always ignore me when I query how Outlook 2013 is able to retrieve from one server but not the other. They do say there is an issue with the IMAP settings but I have gone through all of that and cannot see any issue. Additionally, a Microsoft
representative remotely accessed my computer who also confirmed I need to speak to my ISP but they just simply state it is an issue with Outlook.
Anybody had any similar experiences?

Moving emails - synchronisation issue (N8)

Recently (last week or so) when I try and move an email from my ovi mail inbox to a personal mail folder using my N8 it can take several attempts to before anything happens and the message appears to move (manually synchronising to check this after each attempt). Typically the message then mysteriously reappears back in my Inbox apparently duplicating itself and needs to be manually deleted from there. This morning I even had messages I'd moved reappearing in the widget display but not appearing in my inbox when I opened mail - eventually they reappeared in the inbox (why, when they'd been moved out of there?) and I could delete them.
Is there a backend issue with mailbox synchronisation at the moment or any idea what's going on?
I'm on PR1.2 and the issue seems to conincide with me upgrading to this release.

I'm not sure about the second issue with the duplicating emails but,
For the first issue, the problem is if its setup with POP3 or IMAP it will not push only fetch or manual. If you setup your exchange account using exchange on the iPhone then it will push. You shouldn't need the enterprise data plan (I think thats only for phones under a corporate account).
No doubt setting up it as exchange on the iPhone will probably fix the duplicating issue.

C6 email synchronisation issue

My Nokia C6 does not show the emails I receive in OVI on the main screen, I have configured OVI mail, it always shows 0 email, when I open the email client than it synchornises & displays the new emails received, I have set the synchronisation to once every 15 minutes & also tried the option "soonest" still emails dont display on main screen. always says 0. Sometimes if it does show new email received, it would be an email sent approx 4-5 hours ago.

This was explained to you through a PM that was sent to you. If you could take time to read it, that would be much appreciated.
Secondly, It might be worth you trying to do the following resets:
Soft Reset:
Enter into your keypad *#7780# and when prompted, enter the default passcode 12345. If you have changed the code, it will be the code you changed it to.
A backup will not be needed as this will not delete any data.
Hard Reset:
This will erase all data on your device, so a backup is recommended before you do this.
Once backed up, enter *#7370# and when prompted, enter 12345 as the default passcode.
If there is an issue with Nokia device hardware, it should always be taken to Nokia Care point.

Synchronisation Issue - iPad Mini

It's always asking to authorise this computer when synchronising...
I already did it thousand of time, the answer is the computer is already authorised.
So what to do now?
My iPad is now running OS 8.0, unfortunately this problem persist.

Nokia C7 Synchronising issues

Hi,
Please can someone help.
When synchronising, the calendar events in the microsft outlook gets transferred to the phone. The calendar events in the phone does not get transferred to the outlook . How can this be fixed.

Have you tried this issue in the latest Nokia Ovi Suite version i.e 3.1.0.86, if not then please download from www.nokia.com/ovisuite...
Also make sure that you are not using Mail for exchange to do calendar sync.

ITunes synchronisation issues

I've had my iPhone for several months now and have these recurring issues that I would welcome any input on.
1. Since synchronising my computer and iPhone, the favourites on the computer get re-ordered. Minor annoyance.
2. The display showing how the space on the iPhone has been utilised shows an orange area labelled as "other". Does anyone know what this is, because mine is quite large at over 1 Gb, but its size seems to be a bit fluid. Is there any way to manage this item?

It's only been publicly available since mid-Nov -- were you in the beta? I think 4-5 months would be a record.
My guess is that it's getting stuck somewhere. First, I'd verify that you're on the latest iTunes version. Then, when it runs, check what step you are at, as I'm guessing that either you're stuck at either one file being checked or perhaps it's just taking a REALLY long time to upload whatever you have. Technically if you have a very slow upload speed and if you are unfortunate enough to have tens of thousands of files being uploaded, it wouldn't surprise me if it could take a month or longer, at least. What's your upload speed?

E90 Backup issues

I have been trying to backup my E90 using Nokia PC Suite, just to make sure if all the contacts are properly backed up, i tried checking the backup with the NBUexplorer.....
surprisingly some of the contacts are missing in the backup......any one has any idea on how to fix it?

Try to synchronise and backup your E90 using Nokia Ovi Suite, it is easier and more simple and really accurate. I faced what happened with you when i backed up using Nokia Pc Suite , but after using Nokia Ovi Suite , i was able to restore all contacts so fast.

Profile Synchronisation Issues

A new issue has cropped up in our environment that sees a Users folder having its core folders names changed during a profile synchronisation that occurs when a user logs in or logs out.
Essentially everything is renamed with a -network suffix. So Documents becomes Documents-network, Desktop becomes Desktop-network etc and aliases for the redirection are also created. This seems to result in that the next time they login they cannot see network shares that are usually on the Desktop including the Dropbox.
Given the restrictions on the accounts the students cannot rename their folders (have verified this myself), and to return them to normal I have had to rename the folders via sudo terminal commands so I think I can safely dismiss user action as the culprit.
The Macs are wired up via Ethernet and Airport is disabled, additionally they are set so that they do not sleep so network connection should be consistent. All clients are on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
The oddity about it is the seemingly random nature in which it occurs, it is not always the same person or same Mac which is why I suspect theres an area of fault in the synchronisation process.
We have had this setup for nearly 2 years without this problem occurring, it has only cropped up in the past few weeks.
For now I appear to be able to manage the problem since our Mac numbers are relatively low however I cannot continue to treat the symptom and need help in flushing out the cause of the problem.

The reason you are getting -network behind the names is due to a sync conflict. i.e. Workstation file is older than the server or vice versus. Probably at one point in time, a selection was made to keep both files on a conflict (click happy people/kids) can do this -- and one of the settings is to make it the default.
I forget where you change this option. One thing that you can do to reset the sync -- is to remove ~/Library/FileSync folder as well as the hidden file .FileSync that is located in the root of the user's home folder. I also push permissions back through the folder as well. I think jumping from machine to machine can sometimes corrupt permissions (depending on the state of the workstation last used).
You can delete the -network files -- however, if they have stickies or a bookmark file, I'd keep both. It is likely that the desired file is actually in the -network file. The other one, is an empty and fresh file.
You might also use sudo du -hs ./* on the root of the users directory -- this will tell you the file sizes of the home folders. The bigger the home folder, the more likelyhood of having sync errors.

Synchronisation issue with Lotus Notes 8 (Windows closes - no synchronisation)

I am experiencing an issue with the replication of a Blackberry Storm (9500) with Lotus Notes 8.0.2. The Desktop Software I am running is version 4.7.0.25 on Windows XP Professional with Servicepack 3.
After configuring the synchronisation of calendar and address book, when starting the synchronisation manually, the pop-up windows, where one would expect to see the synchronisation's progress bar just closes after a splitsecond.
Although I have set the log setting within the synchronisation propertiesto the highest possible value, no log is written at all.
The Windows event logs do not show one single entry for this issue.
When trying automatic synchronisation after connecting the blackberry devicethrough usb with the laptop, the device is recognized, but still there is no synchronisation.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem before ?
Any hint is highly appreciated.

I've got no Lotus Notes Client newer than version 8.0.2.
However I did a complete uninstall of the Notes Client and the Blackberry desktop software including deleting all the files from the user's profile, cleaning up the registry,...
After reinstalling the the notes client and the Blackberry desktop software the synchronisation works when only trying to synchronize the address book. When I add the calendar to the synchronisation configuration, the synchronisation runs until the Notes client is to be contacted and the calendar entries to be processed. At this point the desktop software crashes.
In the windows application log the error message "desktopmgr.exe, version 4.7.0.25, failed modul lnsections.dll, version 7.1.1.119, error address 0x001a31fd.
The file RIM.log provides the following information:
On 12.01.2009 14:17
Synchronize Handheld calendar with Lotus Notes calendar
First System:             Handheld
Second System:            Lotus Notes
Second System File Name: Kalender
Conflict Resolution:      Notify
Appointment Range:        From 12.01.2009 To 31.12.2400

Not entries from the "second system" are written in the log-file.

IPod synchronisation issue

I have an album in my iTunes library that doesn't appear on my iPod (Classic) after synchronisation. I've checked the album data and everything looks fine. I have other albums from the same artist that all correctly appear on the iPod. Any suggestions as to what the problem/solution might be?

You're right, photo won't showing up if you don't sync your photos with your computer. Once you have backed up your data drom your device and finshed sync, you will be able to review your photos in your Sunced folder.

Sound synchronisation issues

This issues has been posted before for Z1 and Tablet Z. I have issues with soundsynchronisation in Neflix Viaplay and games such as Heroes of Dragon Age. It is always the same delay in sound compared to the video. Alot of people has this problem, have anyone with Xperia Z2 a perfect working Netflix?
