E900 - Internet Connection 3 times lower then direct one

Here is the problem. I use linksys e900 as an ethernet router.
If I connect my computer directly to the ethernet cable (without router) the speed is about 25-26 mbs. All the rest connections through the router give maximum 10 mbs and the speed is unstable. The connection is L2TP, the security is WPA2, the wireless channel is not AUTO.
So the problem with connection is with wifi connection and ethernet cable to router both.
I am sorry for my English (it is not my native language) and I will be pleased if anyone can help.

Hi NoiseInc, try these settings for your wireless configuration.
Then try to disable QOS.

  • HT201469 Does Apple Pay require an internet connection in time of purchase?

I'm curious Does Apple Pay require an internet connection in time of purchase?
For example if you are traveling outside of the country and you are in the roaming area and you need to pay with your phone in the store - what will happen if you don't have internet connection?

    Thanks for the response Chris,
I'm leaning towards that direction myself...  The last line of the log exerpt above is:
Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://123.456.789.0:8080/guides/framework_4.5.0.21746.swz
So it does seem it's trying to fall back to a local copy, which I know exists, but clearly can't be accessed from that machine.  What doesn't make sense to me if this is the case, is that the user can browse to Workspace on that IP, login successfully, manually start a process, but then it's the guide that fails.  So the connection between the browser and LC exists and is working, it's just this framework that wont fetch!
Anyway, still doing more testing on this - will keep you posted.
    Thanks,
    K.

  • How to disconnect internet connection in Time Capsule and reconnect without restarting the whole device?

Hi, I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to disconnect internet connection in Time Capsule and reconnect without restarting the whole device?
The thing is that as I have a dynamic IP address, everytime I restart the internet connection my IP address changes. I sometimes need it to change, so I need to restart the connection. I don't know another way to restart the connection than restarting the whole Time Capsule.
    Thanks!!
PD: the computer I use is Windows based, using the Airport Utility for Windows, but I also have a MacBook Pro I could use and an iPhone too.

The utility in windows is very like Mac so the screenshots are from Mac as I don't have windows available now.
How this works depends on the setup of the TC.. which you did not tell us.. you cannot change anything if you do not have the TC as the main router in the network.
So on the internet tab you need to share a public IP address.
On the next tab where you set IP address.
    Click the renew IP address.
It might work.. and it might not.. the problem is you are not disconnecting the network.. sometimes the hard disconnection is required before the address will renew..
What about unplugging the WAN port.. then click renew the IP which will fail.. then plug the wan back in again.
In the end it is easier and faster to power cycle the TC.

My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks. I have to re-establish the connection but sometimes it would take too long for the Internet to be connected. I'm using a wireless connection

just browsing around I found this question. Also on my mini retina I fight with this problem. After a lot of searching I found that the only solution is to switch to
Airplane Mode, wait few seconds and switch again.
Or, if you are lucky, to find a Genius who replaces your unit. Cheers

  • Windows internet connection with Time Capsule

I have recently installed an old version of Windows XP SP2 on my laptop using Bootcamp. It probably needs update. When I wanted to connect to the Internet using my Time Capsule, it didn't work. When I open wireless connections, it shows my TC with strong signal, but when I click "connect", I get the message something like "couldn't connect, you might be too far from device, refresh sources and try again". So far no luck if I unplug my TC and use LAN directly. Can I use TC as my wireless router in Windows mode? If yes, how can I set it up?

If I remove the ethernet cable and plug it straight into my iMac I have an immediate internet connection.
That is because your cable modem has "associated" with the iMac.  You need for it to "forget" your iMac and "associate" with the Time Capsule.  Here's how:
Completely power off the cable modem. This means pulling the power plug from the back of the modem or from the wall AC jack.
Power off every other device on the entire network. You can power them off in any order that you wish
Wait at least 15 minutes.  Longer will not hurt at all.
Power up the cable modem and let it run for 2-3 minutes
Then, power up the Time Capsule the same way
Power up each network device one at a time about a minute apart
    Check the network
If the Time Capsule still does not have an Internet connection, you will need to peform a Factory Default Reset on the device and then start the process above all over again. You will need to reconfigure the Time Capsule again, of course once everything is powered back up.

  • I Lose Internet connection each time my Mac Sleeps

I have an iMac 21" late 2009 model.
Since I installed Lion, every time my Mac "nods" after leaving it a bit, after waking up it will take about a minute for the internet connection (dsl ethernet) to come back. It's frustrating, I turn on my mac to browse the web, I open Safari but then I have to sit there waiting for the internet connection to come back.
Something is wrong and it's annoying..

If you had mountain lion, you could've used a feature called power nap. It keeps networking on even when the mac is asleep.
On other OS, I guess its bound to disconnect all networks when it goes to sleep You can try an app called Caffeine that doesn't let it go to sleep.

  • Xbox360 keeps droping internet connection to Time Capsule (Wired)

    Hi there,
I seriously need your help with an ongoing issue that's been affecting my time capsule for a few weeks now. First of all, my Xbox360 is connected with a wire to my time capsule and now, it's pretty much impossible to play any games online. In Modern Warfare 2, I get horrible lag and after a game or two, the disconnected from xbox live appears and the only way for me to get back the connection is by unpluging the Time Capsule and restarting the Xbox. This gets me a good connection for 30-45 min and after that, same problem. I don't really know what could be causing this since I also lose connection while playing a single player game that doesn't require any incoming data. Sometimes, I just turn on the console, I see the xbox icon searching for an internet connection and then nothing.
I really need your input on this because everything else connected to my Time Capsule works perfectly (PS3 and Wii wireless and a Powerbook wired). The Powerbook never loses the connection.
I did a lot of search on the web and most problems between the 360 and Time Capsule seems to be wireless related. I did a few suggestions like completly resetting my Time Capsule and downgrading the firmware but nothing seems to be working. I don't understand what could be causing this because I never had any problems with my Xbox and Time capsule for close to 2 years now.
Sorry for the long post, hope you guys can help me! Thanks!

    Anyone?

  • Macbook loses internet connection every time it is put to sleep

every time i open my macbook pro from sleep mode there is no internet connection, even though my wifi bars are full and black and my home router is found and ticked. after a 1-2 minute delay my mac then connects to the internet. this happens every time i open my laptop from sleep mode.  i have to wait 1-2 mins. this has only started to happen in the last few days and is driving me mad as it shows it is connected to the internet. any ideas ?
    thanks

Delete the network from your macbook, system preferences, network, select advance tab and delete it
Then Re join the Wi-Fi network you want.

  • Sharing a modem internet connection through Time Capsule...?

Hi there, everyone. I'm hoping some of you can help me out with a networking issue. At my house, my only high-speed internet option is an Aircard of some sort (Sprint Sierra 595u, specifically), which (up until yesterday) i was sharing rather successfully in a wireless ad-hoc network consisting of my macbook pro, and 3 other windows machines. The computer with the modem is a Windows XP Home laptop.
Now, i realize the card cannot plug into the Time Capsule, and yes, i do know there are routers made specifically for this, but the Time Capsule would be great so i can have a backup device without hogging a USB port on my macbook.
at any rate, having done some research, it seems that the issue with using XP's Internet Sharing in addition to a separate router is that both are basically DNS servers (correct me please if i'm using incorrect terminology). I have read that i can do two things to bypass this problem: 1) disable DHCP on the Time Capsule, thereby making it an access point; or 2) put the "main" computer (with the modem on it) in a different subnet mask than the router and client computers.
I've been attempting option #2, but have had some troubles in the Airport Utility... one is that i cannot seem to find an option to set the Internet connection to a Static IP... also, when choosing a different subnet mask, what should i change it to? does it matter?
so, i realize this relies heavily on XP... sorry about that. any comments, recommendations, or words of wisdom would be most welcome.
    Thanks and Happy Easter!

    We don't know..
My pc can.. so I suspect you need something changed in the setup..
At the moment.. we have no info.. none.. nothing. Sorry but we cannot help remotely when the info is .. it don't work.
So.. what broadband do you have?
How is the TC setup? Router or bridge?
Is the pc connected by ethernet or wireless? If wireless please test with ethernet. Wireless is too problematic to be relied on.. at least to figure out the problem.
When you open a command window and type ipconfig /all please copy and paste the results here.
Then ping the TC address from command window. Does it respond?
    Ping 8.8.8.8 Does it respond?

  • Make AirPort Extreme share internet connection with Time Capsule

    Hello,
This is the situation: in one room there's an old Mac, the modem which delivers the internet and the AirPort Extreme which is connected to the modem.
In another room there's the Mac Pro, the Time Capsule which is connected to the Mac Pro with an ethernet cable and to a printer via USB.
I want the AirPort Extreme to wirelessly share it's internet connection with the Time Capsule so that the Time Capsule can share the printer with all three Macs (old Mac, Mac Pro and Macbook Pro), the Mac Pro can use the Time Capsule for Time Machine functionality and maybe the Macbook Pro too.
And just using the Time Capsule for internet.
    How can I do this?
At the moment the AirPort Extreme is disconnected and the Time Capsule is used instead, but this way I can't share the printer...
    Thanks!

Is that AirPort Extreme "flat" or dome-shaped?  If it's flat (802.11n-capable), you should be able to configure the "main" router to "Allow this network to be extended" and the other to "Join a wireless network".  If the Extreme is dome-shaped, then you need a more-complicated "WDS" arrangement.  In either case it shouldn't matter much which router plays which role.
I'm not sure what you mean by "And just using the Time Capsule for internet."

Is the printer connected to the USB port of the Time Capsule?  Can you see the printer in the "Printer" panel of AirPort Utility?  What happens when you try to use it from one of the Macs?

  • IPad stopped WiFi internet connection with Time Capsule

My wife's iPad is suddenly having a problem connecting to the internet via the Time Capsule (3rd Gen). Full strength on the WiFi icon but gets message that it cannot connect to the internet. This just started. Her MacBook Air connects fine and so does my MBP and my iPad as well as our daughter's MB and iPad. Both of our iPhones also show full wifi strength. Just my wife's iPad that suddenly is having a problem. I have tried powering down the iPad. I have tried turning the wifi on and off. I have sync'd it with iTunes and it reports that the OS is up-to-date. I used the AirPort Utility and checked the TC and it seems to be up-to-date. I also did a "Renew DHCP Lease"
The iPad is a Model MB293LL running version 4.3.5 (8L1)
The iPad Settings shows it connected to the Time Capsule with an IP Address of 10.0.1.4; Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0; Router of 10.0.1.1
When I use "About This Mac" on my MBP, it shows the TC (with Version 7.5.2) info as:
    Wedgewood Time Capsule:
    PHY Mode:          802.11g
    BSSID:          0:19:e3:30:e3:39

Please disregard my post...It's now connecting...go figure. Last night, I did all of the above described in my post and nothing. This morning, I do the post and then I go and do another Safari link to Apple.com and it connects.

  • Internet connection with Time Capsule

I have a new Time Capsule.
I have plugged in the ethernet link from my cable modem into the Time Capsule and set up a network and Time Machine has backed up  my iMac successfully.
But I cannot get my Time Capsule to link to the internet.

If I plug my ethernet cable into my router I can  get the internet via Wi-fi on my iMac.
How can I get an internet connection on my iMac using my Time Capsule?

  • Can't establish internet connection with Time Capsule

I currently have a wireless Linksys router and have switch over to TC.  I've connected my cable modem internet connection to the internet connection of the Time Capsule, however, with the Airport Utility it states that I do not have a valid IP Address.  I've check under the Manual setting for Internet and ensured that the connection says "share a public IP address", but that does not work.  Any ideas?

Did you remember to completely reset your cable modem and power cycle the network?
Push the reset button on the modem (if present)
    Power the modem down
Pull the batttery (if easily accessible)
Power down every device on the network....order is not important
    Wait at least 15-20 minutes
Make sure that you have the Ethernet cable from the modem connected to the WAN port (world icon) on the Time Capsule, and re-install the battery if it was pulled in the steps above
Power up the modem and let it run for 4-5 minutes by itself
Power up the Time Capsule the same way
Continue powering up devices one at a time about a minute apart until the network is powered back up
    Check network operation

  • Intermittent Internet Connection with Time Capsule

Just got a new Time Capsule and it seems to lock-up every few seconds when playing any internet-based game. It also seems to drop internet connection altogether just about every day (I have to go through diagnostics to reconnect).
I've already updated firmware thinking that might solve problem. I'd like to keep it if I can resolve these issues, but wondering if I should simply return. Any help would be appreciated.

It's likely your wireless network. Check this thread on cordless phones and TC.
