EA 6500 server set up problem

I just purchased the EA 6500 router to replace my D-link DIR-665 and I am running into a problem with my web server, VNC remote access software, and Teamspeak 3 server.
I've used the DCHP reservation tool to designate the server's IP address on the network and used the single port forwarding feature to unlock all the same ports that I did on my old router; 80 & 443 (basic server)  9987 (teamspeak 3) and 5900 (for the VNC server).
I am running windows server 2008 rs enterprise on the server.  The server can get out onto the internet; however, it cannot see the web page when checking it from the "browse web site" (from the server manager).  The website is also not visible from any other pc going to it from the internet.  Additionally, the VNC software cannot find the server either through the web address (XXXXXX.com) or by typing in the specific ip address on the network.  Teamspeak is having the same issue in that people cannot connect to the server.
I have an account with easy dns  and I am using dynsite on the server as I do not have a static IP address from my ISP.
As far as I can tell I've set everything correctly. and everything matches the settings on my old dlink router.   For the life of me I cannot figure out what is stopping the web server from reaching the internet properly.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated.  I'm at my wits end here and am about to just return the router for a refund.

The issue smentioned indeed make this router (now a belkin router as belkin bougth it) totlaly unuseable. I had to throw out 2 of these just because of that silly reverse NAt totally not working. Odd thing is that this does work on most other non belkin/linksys routers.
I am assuming Linksys setup their new routers this way for security reasons. To test if certain functions behind the router are working, you need to do it from outside the network. By the way, I found something from the net about DNS Rebinding Attacks. This might be the reason why Linksys designed their new routers that way. Please click on the following link to know more:

  • Work around for server not found problems on FF36

    I have found a work around for all the people having server not found problems with FF36.
    If you manually set your network adapter DNS to an external DNS server (as opposed to your local ISP) then the problem goes away. I set mine to use the two google DNS servers:
    Preferred: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate: 8.8.4.4
    Not a clue why this works but it is 100% successful on my desktop PC, whereas before I could hardly connect to a webpage with FF36 without multiple page refreshes and much frustration, even though FF35 was fine and rolling back to FF35 was also fine.
    Something has changed in FF36 and either the way it handles DNS or the way it works with some network adapters.
    It is nothing to do with add-ons, profiles or firewall software as I have tried all of these things and only the DNS change made a difference. I even copied over a full working profile and the program files directory for Mozilla from my portable which was having no problems and the problem still existed on the desktop, which is why I started looking at the network adapater since everything else between the working PC and the non working one was identical.
    Hopefully this will help the developers to pin down the real cause of the problem and fix it in the next release.

    Well done. Thanks for finding that.
    That is not only assigned but has an approved patch included in the scheduled Fx36.0.1 release so it should be fixed in few days, watch out for the upgrade.

  • Upgrade to Firefox now defaults to a proxy server setting - how do I stop this???

    I use Windows XP and Earthlink is my internet provider. About a week ago I downloaded the upgrade to Firefox. Since that time, everytime I connect to the internet I get the error that Firefox is trying to connect thru a proxy server - I do NOT work thru a proxy server. I have to go into internet options in my control panel, go to connections and remove the proxy server checks in both the dial-up settings and the LAN settings. THIS DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE PRIOR TO THE UPGRADE!! I tried to go back in my computer settings to a date prior to the upgrade, but that did not change anything. HELP!! What can I do to stop Firefox from defaulting to a proxy server setting???? Earthlink tells me that this is not an Earthlink problem, that it is being caused by the Firefox explorer.

    You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection<br />
    If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"
    See "Firefox connection settings":

  • Server setting preventing .jar from being read/executed?

    Hey guys,
    I'm not completely sure this is the correct place to be posting my question, but I have been unable to find a better place for it, so hopefully someone here might be able to help me out.
    Ok.
    I have a signed .jar applet, that runs locally and when hosted on a server on the LAN. It also works when the .jar is hosted on my webspace given by my ISP.
    However, I have a website hosted where, for some reason, the applet fails. Furthermore, it only fails when it is packaged in a .jar archive. When only using .class files it works fine, however because I need to use .jar files in order to sign them this is no longer sufficient. The exception given by the java console is :
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: UserInterface.class

    Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: UserInterface.class
    When I set the trace level in the java console to 5, the first exception that appears is :
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://www.nickmoores.com/applet/sudoku/sudoku.jar
         at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
         at sun.plugin.PluginURLJarFileCallBack.downloadJAR(Unknown Source) .... etc etc etc
    To me, this indicates that it can't find the .jar. However all the web browsers I have tried manage to find the file at the URL given by the exception (ie http://www.nickmoores.com/applet/sudoku/sudoku.jar), so it is not a simple case of having misplaced the jar or giving the wrong path.
    I made a simple .html page with the following html code :
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC

    </HTML>I placed this page at my ISP webspace, my local LAN server, and the hosted site where it doesn't work, and put the .jar in the appropriate location on each server.
    As expected, it works everywhere EXCEPT the hosted website. This convinced me that there is a problem on the hosted website that is somehow preventing the .jar archive from being read from object/embed html tags. This seems strange as it manages to read and load .class files fine.
    I have communicated several times with the people who are hosting my site, and they haven't been too helpful so far. I've had several replies along the lines of "Can you try it now? I think it should be working" and "Have you tried testing it on a local site?", so i'm not sure they really know what the issue is.
    So does anyone know what setting on the server would be preventing the .jar from being loaded?
    If anyone wants to see the problem for themselves, the problem occurs at http://www.nickmoores.com/blanktest.html , but it works at http://www.nickmoores.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk . As you will see from the page source, the code is exactly the same, so it must be a server setting causing the problem, right?
    Thanks guys!

    Try this:
    <!--[if !IE]> -->
    <object classid="java:**.class"
    type="application/x-java-applet"
    archive="**.jar"

  • Ichat cannot change server setting, cannot connect

    iChat cannot connect. Read it somewhere that I should change server setting from 5190 to 443 after logging out. But the server setting will auto and immediately change back to 5190. Won't let me change to 443. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi,
    "Safe" is a relative term here.
    iChat, when you restart it will recreate them.
    com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist (or the Jabber one) only hold the Login details and will force a fresh login to the relevant server.
    com.apple.ichatAgent.plist This holds surprising little info.  Mainly it holds the info order for the iTunes is Playing script (Artist, Album and Track etc.).  It holds the default Idle time (and then of course if you are Idle)
    As iChatAgent actually does the login is hold pointers to the other .plists.
    com.apple.ichat.SubNet.plist  Holds the Bonjour info (or rather where to get it in the Address Book).
    The Status Messages one does what it says.  It will hold all the Status Messages you have Created and decided to Keep.
    com.apple.ichat.plist  This holds everything else.  Everything in the Preferences accept the Account Pane.
    SOme of the Menu Items depending which window is Front.
    Examples.  The Sort Order of your Buddy listt from the View Menu (when the Buddy List is "front". This can be a 2 pass setting (As in Avaible and Alphabetical). The capabilities shown in the Connection Doctor. (Video Menu).
    It does hold a list of all the account you have in the Preferences  and some info is then pulled to Display the Accounts in the iChat Menu and the Buddy List windows in the Window Menu
    Most important it holds the default or other Font you chose in Messages in the Preferences, whether that font is Coloured, the colour of the IM Background (Balloons or other style).  (Which Style form the View Menu > Messages). Whether you are saving transcripts of the Text Chats, and in iChat 5 what part of an old chat it displays.
    If you were using Incoming Overrides you lose that setting.
    All your Alerts settings both Globally set in Preferences > Alerts and those set in a Buddy's Info Card
    I could probably list more.
    If you have a problem then it pays to tackle the .plist one at a time so that you know which one "Fixed" it.
    Deleting them all in one go is often too heavy handed.
    When I have a clear idea as to which one may be causing the issue I will list that one only.

  • Asp server set up

    I am using DW 8. I have been creating static sites for a
    couple of years with Dreamweaver. I am trying to make the leap to
    dynamic sites and starting my education with DW Dynamic Apps by
    Jeff Bardzell.
    I set up a folder (named it "newland") on an existing web
    site and defined a testing server (ASP VBScript) and the Test
    button indicates that DW is connecting with the server without any
    problem. I changed the html files in this folder to asp files and
    uploaded them to the server.
    Here's the problem: the files will not preview in my browser.
    In fact, none of the files, including the html files will preview
    in my browser as long as I am connected to a dynamic server.
    I am sure this is obvious to those of you who work on dynamic
    sites but here are my questions:
    1. Do all the files in my site have to be converted to asp
    files (does it have to be a totally aps site) or can I have my asp
    files in one folder and the remaining files html?
    2. Is this why I can't preview my files in a browser?
    3. If I can have a web site with mixed files, html and asp
    file, then why can't I preview any of my files in my browser?
    Thanks to whoever responds. I am going to need a little
    guidance until I get used to working with dynamic apps.

    1. Do all the files in my site have to be converted to asp
    files (does it
    have
    > to be a totally aps site) or can I have my asp files in

    No you can pick and choose. Generally when I create site that
    is using asp I
    name all of the file with the .asp extension for two reasons.
    Firstly so
    that I can use server side includes on them, and secondly so
    I do not run
    into search engines issues later on with old named .htm
    files.
    > 2. Is this why I can't preview my files in a browser?
    Unlikely. Firstly with .asp files you can not simply use the
    browse button
    on the browser like you can with a .html page. They need to
    be rendered
    first. This is done by entering
    http://localhost/sitename/filename.asp.
    > 3. If I can have a web site with mixed files, html and
    asp file, then why
    > can't I preview any of my files in my browser?
    That is a mystery. Are you sure that IIS is running properly
    on your
    machine.

    1. JBOSS Application Server start up problem?
    I have installed the JBOSS 4.0 application server in eclipse 3.4(Ganymede) in order to work with the adempiere open source ERP.When I start the JBOSS server,It displays the message &ldquo;Server started in Xm:XXs:XXXms&rdquo; in the console window.But the progress bar in server window is still running.Once the time out is over,it displays the message server cannot be started.
    What should I do in order to make eclipse know that the server is started(message in console as server started) and set its status to &ldquo;Started&rdquo;?
    2.Is it possible to copy and paste the .war created in eclipse 3.4 using JBOSS 4.0 to Glassfish v2 which requires archive file .ear form in NetBeans IDE 6.1?

  • Server Conntion State Problem

    We have a java game which runs with communication from a server and it depends upon regular connectivity with the server. Our problem is in connection discontinuation.
    Firstly in between connection Stream Corrupted Exception arrives and connection with server breaks (its not lost actually but the ser is go in a state where is neither send any thing nor receive but the connection still not braked).
    And Second one - some time without exception server just hangs up does not listen and neither replies for some clients but same time work properly for other
    Here are some codes for data sending and receiving
    at sending on server
    public void sendMessage(CMessage cMessage)
         if(bIsClosed==false)
                try
                  objOutputStream.writeObject(cMessage);
                  objOutputStream.flush();
                }catch(Exception e)
                     bIsClosed=true;
                     System.out.println("Error Sending Message "+cMessage.get_title()+e.toString());
                   server.removeConnection( socket );
    }at recive on client
    public void run()
         Object objMessageRecived;
         CMessage cMessageRecived;
         while(true)
              try
                   objMessageRecived=objInputStream.readObject();
                   cMessageRecived=(CMessage)objMessageRecived;
                   m_cWindow.handle_message(cMessageRecived);
              }catch(StreamCorruptedException sce){
                   System.out.println("Error in connection !!!!!! "+sce.toString());
                   break;
              catch(IOException ex){
                   System.out.println("Error in connection "+ex.toString());
                   break;
              catch(ClassNotFoundException ce){System.out.println("Error in connection !!!!!! "+ce.toString());}
    }

    Couple of things:
    1: When you say it doesn't forward what does happen? Did you verify that you are in fact reaching the forward statement? Do you get an error?
    2: I am not sure I understand you logic.
    You get a username and password from the client.
    You go to the database with "SELECT USERNAME, USERPASSWORD from USERLIST" which brings back all of the user/password pairs in the database.
    You then cycle through this list of user/password pairs in a while loop:
    while(rs.next()){
    String users = rs.getString("USERNAME"); <-- Why set this within the loop
    String pass = rs.getString("USERPASSWORD"); <-- will set multiple times
    if(!users.equals(username))){  <-- what if the user is not the first user in the database? Will fail more times than succeed.
    Why not do
    SELECT USERNAME, USERPASSWORD from USERLIST where USERNAME = user and USERPASSWORD = password
    Then check the results to see if it returned a record.

  • Home Server Set Up - DNS, DHCP etc

    Hi
    I'm looking to set up a Mountain Lion Server at home.
    I have a Lion Server but I think I will wipe it and start again, mainly because I didn't use a particularly good name to begin with. I've read the We Got Served Mountain Lion Server book, Mountain Lion Server for Dummies and Apples Documentation.
    I am planning to set up in the following way:
    Turn my Virgin Media router 'Modem Only' mode on.
    Turn on my AirPort Extreme and set it up as the DHCP server.
    I will set up a pool of IP addresses.
    Question 1 - I think the best way is to make a reserved IP address for my server within this pool rather than a static IP address outside of the pool (but within the subnet).  Any comments on this?
    Question 2 - I need to boot my Lion Server to get the MAC address for the reservation.  Should I set the reservation IP as the IP the DHCP server provides or set it up to an unused IP address? I will set up DHCP to distribute DNS server names.
    Question 3 - Because I want my Mountain Lion Server to provide Directory Services I need to set up the Mountain Lion Server as a DNS server.  Is this correct?
    The DNS servers I will get the DHCP server to provide in the following order:
    1 My Mountain Lion Server
    2 My 1st Virgin Media DNS Server
    3 My 2nd Virgin Media DNS Server (not sure I can set up a 3rd DNS server)
    I am not going to use a Google DNS or another open DNS because they are located in the US and this affects caching of internet content.
    When I set up my Mountain Lion Server I am in two minds about going for a public internet registered domain or a private domain.
    Question 4 - Are there any limitations in using the registered public domain as opposed to a private domain with VPN.  If I need access to any of my machines remotely I tend to use LogMeIn form my iPad.  But I am tempted (just because its there) to set up a public internet address and using it. If I did go for the public domain I would need to use a dynamic DNS service (like Dyn.com) because I don't have a static IP.  However if I didn't I would only need to change my public DNS entry if I rebooted my router (and I may not even then as its IP address may not be reassigned).
    If I don’t need remote access to my server very often then this would be acceptable.
    Question 5 - If I did go the full internet way (as opposed to the .private domain) what do I register at dyn.com?  Just my domain, then add a record for the server.
    1. Register ‘example.com’
    2. Add a record at Dyn.com for ‘server.example.com’.
    3. On my server set up put ‘server’ in the Computer Name field
    4. On the ‘Host Name’ field enter ‘server.example.com’.
    Question 6 – Bonjour and DNS.  Aside from whether I go for a public registered domain or a private domain (and access via VPN or LogMeIn) how do these settings affect the Bonjour set up?  My understanding is the Bonjour uses .local.  So what is the resolution path?  If I set up a DNS server on my Mountain Lion Server do I need to enter a record for each local laptop in the house or can I leave that to Bonjour?  My understanding is the Bonjour will continue for all local address resolution and the Mountain Lion DNS will take care of resolving the server name (for Directory Services and any other services).  Is this right will DNS be used for file and print services on the server?
    Any thoughts/answers/comments/casual abuse welcome.
    Thanks

  • Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ IGNORE

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a database link from Oracle 10g to Mysql 5.
    I have installed Oracle Gateway 11g for this purpose.
    When i retreive the data from sql plus the text is displayed as question marks.
    Oracle 10g Database character set is WE8MSWIN1252
    Mysql character set --->latin1
    Character set of ODBC connector for mysql is  latin7
    Character set in the parameter file of HS folder is WE8MSWIN1252When i retrieve data from sql developer the text is fine(as i think it directly takes the character set of target) but
    when i login from sqlplus i get question marks!
    I have another post in Heterogeneous Connectivity forum
    Re: Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ HELP

    It is OK to post a globalization-related question in this forum in addition to the forum pertaining to the main technology. Not all experts follow all possible forums on OTN. Of course, you should cross-link the posts to let people merge the answers.
    Regarding the problem itself, make sure that SQL*Plus has the right NLS_LANG setting in the environment. On Windows, in the Command Prompt:
    C:\> set NLS_LANG=.WE8PC850
    C:\> sqlplus ...On Unix:
    $ setenv NLS_LANG .WE8ISO8859P1   (or NLS_LANG=.WE8ISO8859P1; export NLS_LANG)
    $ sqlplus ...-- Sergiusz

  • Sun Application Server 8 response problem

    Hi forum. Id installed moths ago SJAS 8 and it woks good. By any reason, Id to uninstall it. But recently I reinstall te server, without any problem, and I can use teh "Start default server" on the Menu Start. But when I try to access the "localhost:8080", the browser stand hanged. And unusually, any browser in my system (netscape,iexplorer,opera,firefox) wont work, even to load any site when the Server is working. The option "Stop default server" dont working too. Id try install SJAS 8.0, SJAS 8.1 and SJAS 8.1 multilanguaje, but with the same results. Even Id try change the HTTP port from 8080 to 8282, but nothing happends. Any idea?

    Hi, again. Other details of my installation , The server is SUn Java System Application Server Plataform Edition 8.12005Q1, my machine is an AMD Athlon 1.25Mhz, with 256Mb RAM (Yes, slow for use the server, but it ran without troubles the first time I installed), The JDK is J2SE1.5.0_5 and JRE1.5.0_05. I had read the troubleshotting guide, and the server log register that the server successful finish the start up proccess, and the file domain.xml register correctly the "http-listener" on 8080 port. When I start to search the source of trouble, I remmember that I have the Tomcat 5.5 installed and using the 8080 port, then I uninstall the Tomcat, but the problem persist with the SJAS.

  • How does a server set SoapFault parameters?

    If a SOAP server encounters errors and needs to pass some data back to a SOAP client
    by way of the client receiving a weblogic.soap.SoapFault, how can the server set
    the value for <faultcode> and <faultstring>?
    How method does a SOAP client use to get the retruning XML containing the SoapFault?

    @GJ - thx -- I knew that-subconsciously!  i just didn't put it all together
    @test - well, i'm in the process of studying Thom Parker's scripting course,
    so hopefully i'll learn how to do that soon .
    but meantime - it's a combination of client-side/server-side scripting?
    So would youse criticque my summary understanding of the flow of the process?
    client requests -> server serves the pdf -> client fills out form on their machine ->
    (requiring that they have "some" pdf application installed, or invite them to dL/install Adobe Reader, etc)
    script embedded in the form button "Submit" causes the now-changed-data-filled-out-pdf
    to be "returned/received" back on the server in changed form -- ->
    either to be manually gathered/downloaded by me,
    or, by further scripting, auto-magically returned to my email, etc?
    w/ the scripting "Notifying me that the client has completed & returned the form" ?
    ----  more ----
    and if i think about it further -- would a server even be needed? how about all transactions strictly via email?
    since the "volume" will be pretty low
    send email attachment, then "Submit" scripted button invokes their desktop email client if they have one,
    or just give the instruction to re - send the now-filled-out pdf, as an attachment, back to my email --- ?
