EA1 - Migration Source connection

In the Quick Migrate wizard and in the Data move details form, you must create a new connection as Source.
You cannot choose from existing connection because the LOV is empty and you receive back a Java exception.

Did you migrate your connections from 1.2.1? Can you try this for me please? Create a new connection and see if that shows up in the drop list.
Current workaround: Right click on the connection and select the Quick Migrate option from that context menu. There appears to be something in the migrated connections.
I'll log a bug on that, but if you have a slightly different issue, then let me know.

There is problem with SAP Business One date source.
I had faced same problem, I used OLEDB Data-source, and it worked fine for me.
So, try to use OLEDB.

Error while importing the tables from MySQL using the data source connection

I am trying to import tables from MySQL into Powerpivot using the data source connection, if use the import using the Query option its working fine but not with the select list of table option.
when i click on the select list of tables option, i get the below error after selecting all the tables to be imported:
OLE DB or ODBC error.
An error occurred while processing table 'XXXXXXXXXX'.
The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.

There is no output from that command line? Maybe the pid changed.
I'll repeat what I am trying to find out...
1. You do a pmset -g on the terminal.
2. The output from that pmset should have a line that says "sleep 0 (imposed by n)" where n is some number.
3. The ps ax | grep n is supposed to display what the process associated with n is.
It's the output from step 3 that should indicate what is causing you not to sleep.
But speaking of sleep, that's where I am going.

Sql Developer Data Modeler 3.0 EA1: Relationship source and target names

When opening my version 2 model in version 3.0 EA1 the source name and target name of all my 231 relationships are deleted.
Is there a solution for this? I don't want to reenter these 462 labels...

Hi Peter,
When I examine an XML file for a relation converted from version 2.0, the XML elements "nameOnSource" and "nameOnTarget" are missing in the converted 3.0 EA1 versionthey are not loaded during "open" of older design. If you define them they will go into XML file.

I have numerous SQL reports that require their data source connection changed. Does anyone have code to change all reports that use a data source name of 'Data_Warehouse_Main' to a different shared connection.

According to your description, there are numerous SQL reports and their data source need to be changed. You used RSScripter but it does not work.
In Reporting Services, if we want to change data sources of multiple SSRS Report, we can use Powershell to set the data sources for an item in a report server database or SharePoint library. To achieve your goal, we need to use both the Reporting Service
GetItemDataSources Method and the SetItemDataSources Method. You can refer to the thread provided by PrajapatiNeha, and the PowerShell script sample will be helpful for you.

Migrating source from one collection to another collection hanging

We are trying migrate a project from one collection to another collection on the same server (TFS 2013.3) and its hanging on what I think is a large changeset. I have let it for for 3+ days but its stuck on this line - any ideas on how to troubleshoot

Source connection - TextQualifier - Setting as Hexadecimal

Hi all
We are creating and saving the packages in server by using the c# code ,
The package has a source connection, it has textqualifier, I am setting the textqualifier as " (double quotes)
When i pull or get the package from server to locally, the textqualifier as hexadecimal like _X0022_ instead of "
Is there any settings in source connection to set the double quots as textqualifier..

An additional note to what Darren said. Prior to
SQL Server 2008 SP1 Cumulative Update 6 the qualifier was stored as is (i.e. as " as opposed to _x0022_). See the details of this particular change in CU6 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977889/
Note that this affects column delimiters too.
What this means is that you should not develop packages on a machine with CU6 (or later) applied unless the machine that you are ultimately going to be running the package on also has CU6 applied because the SSIS installation on that machine will not understand
_x0022_ (take this from someone who, earlier this week, spent the better part of a day debugging this issue :) ). It sounds as though you are hitting this same issue so make sure that you are developing on the same build of SQL Server as you are running the
packages on.
To see what version of SQL Server (and hence SSIS) you have installed please consult
SQL Server 2008 Build List.

A Pro Tools user for about five years, I'm just trying out Garage Band for the first time. Are there are any Garage Band users here that use a plugin called 'Source-Connect?' If so, I could use some help figuring out why I can't see that plugin in the menu of all the others.

Yep... the version I downloaded (Pro 3.5) says it's good to go with both VST AND Audio Units hosts (and Garage Band is in the list), but that's why I'm wondering why the plugin doesn't show up. I've emailed Source-Connect support... hopefully they'll be able to figure it out.

How do we change the source connection in OWB?

Hello,
Currently my source connection has read/write privileges. For security reason, i created read only schema in the source database.
Now i want to change my username in the source mapping.
I go to connection Explorer,
click Location
click database
Click oracle
right click on source name(existing one), click open editor.
When i click open editor, I see all the user info are grayed out. I could not change anything.
How do i change the current source connection username?
Any help is appreciated..

Hello, I have trouble changing the source connection.
My source connection name is same as before. Only DB name, schema name is changing now for source connection. Here are the steps i have done.
1. Went to control center manager and unregister the source mapping.
2. Went to Connection explorer and right click on source connection and click the open editor. change the username, password, ip address, DB name.
3. went to control center manager and re-deploy the mapping. It is not working... It says, table or view does not exists.
Is ther any other place i need to change... Somewhere i am missing..
Any help is highly appreciated..

Have you installed Source Connect?

Platform: Windows.   Audition CS6.   iLok key registered. Source Connect Standard 3.1 on 15-Day Free Trial.
Here's where I am with it:
The SC software appears to have downloaded correctly and I'm able to see it on the VST listing in my Audition multitrack. I can log into SC. Here are my issues:
1.     Once I log into the SC window, my cursor changes to a strange icon. Sort of an angular infinity sign with a red slash through it, but only within the multitrack window.
2.    When I send an echo test, I hear nothing back.
3.    When I send an echo test, I get an error message about the Q Manager that SC tells me to ignore.   (uh... OK).
What do I need to do?

The purpose of linking the SAP Business License file in RSP is only to allow RSP reading out the installation and system number of your SAP Business One installation. However you may skip this step while executing the setup wizard and configure it later once you execute the Initialisation wizard.
If you have to enter proxy credentials depends on the proxy configuration itself, e.g. can you browse the Internet only if you applied such credentials into the browser?
Also the proxy settings you may configure it later while executing the Initialisation wizard.
RSP requires an Internet Connection in order to establish connections to SAP's backend and optionally your SAP partner backend via Internet in order to receive lastest RSP Tasks and optionally transfer task results. (Don't worry, no task result will be transferred as long you did not give explicit permission to do so after you reviewed the content)
And just for the Internet connection the proxy settings are required in case a proxy got set up within the environment where remote support platform for SAP Business One got installed.
PS: Please ensure to get latest version and PL of RSP installed (currently RSP 3.1 PL 4). It is in general combatible to all Business One versions.

Provision Migration Source Proxy Account wizard broken

I cannot get the "Provision Migration Source Proxy Account" to complete. All fields are filled in according to the documentation, but when I click Yes to the confirmation box, I get "Migration proxy account provisioning failed: eDirectory NWDSCCODE: ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR [-319]".
When I check eDirectory, the Migration Proxy Account has been created and has Supervisor rights to the root of the tree. Everything seems to have been completed on the eDirectory side and the "Migration Source Information" in NSMAdmin has Source Tree Name and Migration Proxy Account, but the Default Server Address is blank.
This is NSM 3.0.1 for Active Directory. Any ideas where I go from here?

NSM does not support multiple target paths in DFS. I believe that having
multiple target paths configured is the problem that your experiencing
for both this target path issue, along with your quota issue.

Managing data source connections inside an Excel workbook for deployment reasons

Hi,
with a certain frequency, I use Excel to show SQL Server data, or SSAS data, etc. in tables, pivot tables, ...
So, a single Excel workbook can contain more connections and ofter a same connection is used.
When an Excel is deployed to a prod environment from a test environment an issue it to update each data source connections by specifing the prod server and/or the prod instance. To avoid to accomplish the boring task to change each single connection,
is it possible to perform it in a more simple or automatic manner?
Any ideas, please?

When you deployed Excel files to a product environment, why did you need to change the data source? Did you move SQL server DB and SSAS DB to the product environment too?
And when you click Data->From SQL Server/From AS ,then Excel should create a Office data connection file which is usually saved in: C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Data Sources . If you have multiple Excel files need to use the same connection,
you can choose the Existing Connections, then select the odc file. If you want to change your connections, you just need to Edit the .odc file.

In general, to move TFS from a hardware to another, you can follow the steps as below:
1. Check your permissions
2. Back up databases and install software
3. Restore TFS databases to the new hardware
4. Update the configuration of the new application-tier server
5. Verify permissions, notify users, and configure backups
