EA2: grants on sequences from a different user not saved

Hi,
I am using the Data Modeler Early Adopter 2, build 653 on Mac OS X 10.6.4, java version "1.6.0_22".
I have an 11g Physical Model in my relational model. I added some permissions to a user in this physical model. Iadded SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE on some tables owned by a different user. this worked fine and was saved locally and to subversion.
But when I added SELECT grants on the sequences owned by another user, these changes were not saved locally hence not to subversion either. This same issue was reproducible on a Linux version (also build 653) of the Modeler. Anybody else encountered this ?
Question to the developers of this product: if this is a bug should I log it somewhere as an enhancement request ?

Then when I tryed to restore the back up that I have on my other macbook, that I did on Time Machine, it went to a different user.
Now I have 2 users.
There are 2 apps that I can not use with me new user (Things and Email-direct) and can not acess mail and adress book from the other.
I have already install everything on my new account. What should I do to use the email and adress from my different user account?

No problem except for a minor nuisance when it's time to update the apps. Depending on how you do it, you might need to log out and back in again but, in any case, you must have both passwords.
The iTunes library can hold purchases made with multiple Apple IDs as can the iPod.

I should add that you can turn on SHARING where each user can see the other user's library and play stuff out of it. But they can not import those tracks to their own library or put them into their own playlists or burn CDs of the shared library.
Also note, to do this you need to have the fast switching option enabled with the accounts so both can be running at the same time and both must have iTunes running at the same time.

I'm not sure whether I understand your question. If one user changes a record then you would like other users to see those changes. Normally those changes will be visible to other users when they refresh their browser, after the first user has committed changes to the record. I you want to be sure that the same row isn't updated at the same time by to different user, you need to configure some locking (pessimistic locking) - this depends of what technology you use. In EJB3 pessimistic locking is performed by adding a version to every entity object. If you are using ADF, the framework is able to handle either pessimistic or even optimistic locking.
If you want the changed row to be updated in other users browsers without any user interaction by these users, you should take a look at Reverse Ajax (ex. DWR http://ajaxian.com/archives/reverse-ajax-with-dwr) - or Ajax in general. But you will never get a realtime solution, where changes is visible in other users browsers right after each record update.

Usually, if two users try to update the same row at the same time, you want the first to commit to succeed, and when the second commits, they should fail with the error that the row was being concurrently updated. They you may want to show them the new row values and give them the opportunity to merge their values with the new row values...

With the iPad, is it possible to sync certain content from a different user account on the same Mac? Is this possible?
Imagine a MacBook with 2 user accounts on it. User A has an iPad and wants to sync their own Music to it. However, User A wants User B's iPhoto library synced to their iPad. User A also wants User B's Calendars synced to their iPad.

Alternatively, is it possible to only sync one-way, from a MacBook to an iPad? What I mean is, is it possible to sync your iCal data from a MacBook to an iPad, but prevent any changes on the iPad getting synced back into the MacBook?

Unfortunately there's no way around this. you will need that password to update the apps. If he won't give it to you, then i'm not sure what to say.
You should have kept the account with the Apps you bought yourself.
Otherwise, as I said, delete the Apps, and buy them again.

How to require licence from a different serverUrl (not the one in DRMContentData)?

I have a special request for requiring the movie licence from a different serverUrl (not the one I get from DRMContentData.serverUrl). I tried DRMManager.setAuthenticationToken with the new url but it didn't work.
Does anybody know to do it or is it even possible to do it?

What is your particular workflow/use-case?
Unfortunately, the license server's URL is baked into the DRMContentData and cannot be modified once a video has been packaged. But, if you describe what problem you're attempting to solve, perhaps there is a different workaround.

Adding music to iTunes from a different user account on the same computer

I have recently begun using a PowerMacG5 at my college and I imported some music, all from CDs into iTunes under my user account. Then I discovered that this Mac already had music in a different location under a different user account. How do I merge these two libraries together so that both have the same music, same library? Or is that impossible?

How do I access old folders from a different user on Time Machine

Hi
I migrated my old macbook to my new macbook pro with all the files and backed up to time machine.
I then restored my macbook pro using erase and install and started from scratch installing most apps from scratch and restoring some documents and apps from time machine from the old backup of the macbook pro (before erase and install).
I'm now having lots of issues with permissions. I can't save a lot of files in the folders they are already in - e.g. If I try to save a Logic song, it often won't let me save it in the folder it was in.
iWeb is refusing to save anything at all.
I can't seem to get my photos back into iPhoto.
My primary concern at the moment is getting access to documents in Time Machine that were on an old user of the MacBook Pro. My current user is set up from scratch I think (not too sure - I'm getting confused about which user was on which computer).
When I try to open a folder, it says "the folder cannot be accessed because you do not have permission to use its contents".
Any help around these problems would be greatly appreciated.

That's a last resort, but doesn't include a full restore. You have to reinstall all your 3rd-party apps from the original discs; re-enter all your preferences, configuration, and settings; and copy selected data files back. Depends. If you haven't done any backups since you erased, you could erase again, install a fresh copy of OSX, then use Setup Assistant to transfer everything else from your backups. Assuming you're running Snow Leopard (per your profile), see Using Setup Assistant on Snow Leopard or Leopard, especially the green box there.
Either way, you may still have to fix the original problem, but there are ways to do that short of the "nuclear" option. I hate to guess with nothing more than "some kind of bug that was really slowing down my computer," but one possibility is a partially-installed or partially-deleted app. Once you get back to where you were, see OSX Log Files, especially the Application Installation or Removal problems section in the blue box

Why can't i import photos from a different user account?

Why when i import photos to iphoto from my user account it works fine. If i try importing them from the other user account it the photo it shows the event folder in the events page but when you go into it there are no photos, and when you close the app it dissappears completely. I dont understand why it is doing this? The iphoto library is actually from the other user account so there shoudnlt be any sharing issues. The only thing is that i iorignially installed on the other user account but it all started when i updated it to iphoto11 and installed it on my account. that shouldnt make a difference though??
Also if it is not possible to be able to import from both accounts how can i change it so that the other account is able to import only and not from my account?

TS2755 Texts from other iphone users not coming through while roaming.

I am roaming daily in the US. Ever since I upgraded to ios 7 my phone won't receive any texts from other iphone users unless I am on wifi. Texts do come through from non-iphone users. I do have cellular data shut off while roaming (I don't want to be charged roaming fees for facebook notifications, emails, etc.) but this never stopped texts from arriving before updating. I pay $20 a month to text from the US and want to be able to utilize this feature! Any suggestions?

Does your iPad have 3G/4G?
If not then most likely the messages are going to your Apple ID email
You can uncheck that and just leave your number checked
It should then come to your phone

Text fields populated from lov mapping are not saved to database

Hi Everyone,
I'm having a wierd problem. My requirement is to autopopulate two text fields field 2 and field 3 when a value is selected from lov in field1 and save all the values to database on click of a submit button.
Using lov mapping i'm able to populate field 2 and field 3 with corresponding values based on the value selected in field1. And also field2 and field3 should be in the readonly mode so that user cannot change the value.
So to make the fields readonly i have changed the property of readonly to true for field2 and field3. But if I change the readonly property, the values for field2 and field3 are not being saved to database.
The values are getting saved to database only when readonly = true for messageTextInput item type or if the item type is a form value.
I also tried disable = true, which also didnt work.
I tried to debug by writing some sop statements in PFR, but these statements also returned null for pageContext.getParameter("field2") etc;
Can anyone please tell me how to solve this problem?

I forgot to mention that , I also tried messageStyledText. Which also didn't work. I wanted to use vo.setAttribute as my last option, but i wanted to understand why the values are not saved to database when the text item is showing the values on the page.

Sent messages from secondary account are not saved in Outlook 2011 for Mac

We are using a shared email account added in Outlook 2011 for Mac. It's not the default account but we send from it often.
Whenever sending from this secondary mailbox, the message is not saved in sent items folder under the secondary mailbox or the default mailbox. There seems to be no record of the sent item anywhere.
I verified the message is sent and received.
All microsoft updates have been applied and we are using Exchange 2010.

Please first log into OWA and check if the email are saved in the Sent Items folder.
We can tick the option "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder" in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 to save a copy of sent message, please check if you get such option in Outlook for Mac.
In addition, in Outlook for Windows, we can change a registry key to force Outlook to save sent emails in the default or secondary mailbox, but I'm not sure if Outlook 2011 has such trick. See:
