On Cisco connect you should update it to if there's a device you don't know on the connected device's u should be able to kick it off ur router
I have the ea2700. I was wondering because like two nights ago there was a unknown device on my network is there another way to kick it off besides changing the wpa key?

This is a security type i that is designed to authenticate individual users to an external server via username and password. WPA Enterprise also gives each PC a unique encryption key, which the user never sees, so they can't share it. WPA-Enterprise should only be used when a RADIUS server is connected for client authentication. With WPA/WPA2 Personal you need to add all users to all APs (access points), in Enterprise mode you use a central database on a 802.1x, RADIUS server.

Okay, so i went upnorth with my family and my Lenovo 3000 c100 worked perfectly one night, the next morning I woke up and turned on my laptop and i got this message "Warning Unsupported wireless network device detected. System halted. Please remove device and restart". I've tried to boot into bios it wouldn't let me. It says to interrupt normal startup press the lenovo care button???, i'm guessing it's the wrench with a square around it located near the power button?. I have found nothing to fix this problem and i need my laptop for work tomorrow.

Manually removing stored Wifi networks from iPad?

I have a rather interesting question:
As we all know, iPad will remember wireless networks we connect to by way of the settings app. Whenever those networks are in range, iPad will automatically connect to them. (This also applies to iPhone/iPod touch)
Suppose that you at some point logged into a network, using the settings panel, but you later wish to remove it from the list of saved networks (e.g. you're giving the iPad to a friend to use, giving it away, etc.)
So far, the only way I know of to do this is to be in range of the network in question, then select it in the settings panel and choose Forget This Network.
This to me represents a potential security risk. Suppose that you pair your iPad to a corporate work network. Later, you decide to loan out your iPad. All the person you loaned it to has to do is go in range of the office network (Which is heavily guarded by WPA2, we'll assume) and poof, they're in, because your iPad saved the network. Someone who is not authorized just penetrated a LAN.
Normally, you could simply remove that network from the remembered networks store prior to loaning. Mac, Windows and everything else seems to have a way to remove remembered networks manually. However, on the iPad (and any other iOS device) I can't find a way to get the device to forget a known network, unless I happen to be in range of that network at the time. Is there a way to do this?

Remove device from Cisco Connect?

Help! I want to REMOVE a device from Cisco Connect and do not see how to do it.

I have a Linksys E3000 router and using Cisco Connect. When I go to Parental controls I see network device a few times but I do not know what theyu are. Is there a way to remove device from there or is there a way to find what the mac address is of the device and then is there a way to rename it???

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

[SOLVED]Gnome 3 / Nautilus removable devices doesn't automount anymore

I use Gnome3 with gnome-shell and openbox. Recently on nautilus my other partitions and removable devices does not show up. I can see the partitions on the terminal and mount them manually but i need to fix this. Please help.

if he is having this issue in Gnome-Shell specifically, then it's not the same issue. *Gnome-Shell uses it's own internal version of polkit's agent* ~ as discussed in that thread.. If he is using gnome-fallback (with openbox?), then that is where the polkit-authentification-agent-1 issue applies.

I bought Time Capsule specifically to back up my computer at work. Only my computer. There are many computers within my department. I completed the steps the best of my knowledge but was unsure of which option to click. I clicked "I want to create a new wireless network". At the onset the instructions said I needed to connect with an ethernet cable, which I did. But I have no desire to connect to the internet, print from it, or have others access. I did deselect guest options, and I did put in passwords. But at the end of the process I got the message, "This device & its network services will be temporarily unavailable. Are you sure you want to continue."
I was worried this would shut me down and I wouldn't be able to continue to work. I don't necessarily need to connect wirelessly. It is connected via ethernet cable from machine to device.
Can you advise me how to continue? Did I choose the wrong options?

I bought an external hard drive called "Seagate Backup Plus" From the Apple store to back up everything on my computer and anything new on my computer. It came with Time Machine. The external hard drive disk had 1 or 2 Terabytes. Time Machine says "next backup: When disk is connected." "Oldest backup: July 2, 2014." & Also "Latest back July, 2."

How do I remove device from icloud it was traded in and wiped but still listed as a device

I Traded in my iPhone 5 at Verizon store on 9/20 for the iPhone 6 and watched the phone being wiped before heading home with new phone. However, when I checked icloud.com today it still shows the device in device list. Tried a find my phone but all that shows up is my iPhone 6 & iPad. Any idea how to remove device from iCloud!

The songs I don't want aren't checked and haven't been for a long time. You would think that would be the answer, but it isn't for some reason.Nothing has taken the songs away. Songs that I have deleted from iTunes and even the computer still stayed on the phone as well as songs that were NOT checked. In addition to albums I have NEVER downloaded... unless many, many, years ago and have no recolection of it. And they are NOT in my iTunes library or stored on the computer. And I don't have iTunes match. I've also restored the iPhone this afternoon. Still have the songs! And I haven't even signed into iCloud since the restore... which I lost all of my recent contacts during, but that was my fault for not checking to make sure I synced them before restoring.

Problems with usb / sd removable devices (not/badly copying)

the problem is when I plug an usb stick or a SD card, all with FAT32 fs, GNOME (I use gnome-shell) asks me if I want to mount and open the device.
so, it loads properly and when it's open I can do all the things you are supposed to do with them.
The issue first appaired when I copied some pics to an SD card. It appaired the progress bar saying it completed the copy process.
So I umounted the device and removed it. Some other people said that actually there weren't any files in the SD card.
Supposing it was bad/corrupted fs I formatted the card and put back the images there. Same issue. I was starting to think the SD card was damaged
until I had the same problem while copying music to my phone (via USB cable).
I noticed it created all the files but didn't store any actual data (e.g. size of files was always 0 byte) or even didn't do anything (neither created the file) sometimes.
Searching the web I found that it wasn't syncing - so they told me to do the sync command on the shell - nothing solved.
So as I read on the wiki [fstab], I mounted the devices with options "sync,flush", which in fact solved the problem.
[Actually I later found that it works even without the flush option, just with the sync option]
Doing so I solved the problem and could copy all the data to the devices.
What I want to know is: how can I say to GNOME (or anyother GNOME uses to mount devices) "well, whenever I put a removable device, mount it with the sync option" ?

Verify the discs in the disc utility and see if that works. It'll probably take an hour or so cos the disc utility's performance has been less than favorable.
Try this: Turn off the computer, disconnect the drives, then restart the computer. Now, re-connect the drives while the computer is running, let them mount and see if you can eject them. One would assume it is a permissions issue, however, with the multitude of glitches appearing with ext drives and USB devices in Leopard it's hard to assume anything.

[SOLVED]Thunar stops showing removable devices

Hi all,
Today, I noticed that thunar has stopped showing me my removable devices. I don't know when this issue really happened really but all I know is that, last weekend when I inserted my mp3 device, Thunar showed it and I had an icon on my desktop. I hadn't modify any configuration files, just made all upgrades.

I have a problem about IT-security.
In our company we are using Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise Edition.
We could easily block/forbid using of Storage Devices such as Pen Drives, USB-Flash Drives, SD-Cards via USB port on a Software Level, but we couldn't block/forbid using of
Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices such as Mobile Phones, SmartPhones, Tablets, MP3 Plyaers!
When you connect SmartPhone to PC via USB cable, it is detected as Removable Device (NOT as a Storage Device!) and can be easily used for copying Information from PC.
The question is : "Is it possible to block/forbid Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices via USB on a Software level, without disable USB ports in BIOS?" Any solution(personal PC configuration or Group Policy) would be
great.

Yes, it is.
On a DC, create a new GPO or find an existing GPO. Then edit the setting in the GPO, and link the GPO to the target scope (site, domain, OU).
Note: if we configure the setting under Computer Configuration, it applies to computers,
regardless of who logs on to the computers. While if we configure the setting under User Configuration, it applies to users, regardless of which computer they log on to.
In addition, regarding how to create, edit, and link a GPO, the following articles can be referred to for more information.

Steps to be done to remove the device from the previous owner's iCloud Account, if you have already done this things then there might be something that you might have missed due to which the iPhone is still showing the Find My iPhone Activation Lock screen.

If the previous owner is with you and can access the device
Ask them to enter their Apple ID and password on the Activate iPhone screen (shown above) to remove the device from their account. You can then proceed through the rest of the device setup process.
If the previous owner is not present
Contact them and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Choose the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices and selecting the correct device.
Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been removed from the previous owner’s account, turn it off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.

update: the same thing is happening again on KDE 4.10.1.
This is something that has begun happening around KDE 4.9. The symptoms:
1) Plung-in a USB drive or a flash card with a few JPGs;
2) Open it with Dolphin;
3) Copy a few files to the hard disk;
4) Try to "Securely remove removable media", either from Dolphin or from the Task bar;
5) The system displays a message that the device can't be umounted because it is being used by some program.
6) Probing:
$ lsof /media/FCDRIVE (its label)
nepomukse 1141 user 30r DIR 8,49 32768 1 /media/FCDRIVE

I've tried a few things, but none of them seems to work:
1) Suspend nepomuk indexing (from the Nepomuk/Strigi configuration icon)
2) Tell nepomuk to ignore all removable devices (from Desktop search, file indexing tab)
3) Manually indicate where nepomuk should search, making sure nothing outside /home should be indexed.
Either nepomuk ignores the configuration or there is something else entirely that I'm missing...
Does anybody have any hints?

I think the problem is back.
KDE 4.10.1 Archlinux 3.8.3-2-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT (standard packaged kernel and applications)
The system is still ignoring the "ignore removable media" option. Nepomuk still prevents the unmounting of the device and I can't even figure how to kill the nepomuk service (it respawns automatically, before I get the chance to umount the USB drive).
I'll try to change the nepomuk configuration files by hand...

MAX 5.3.1 removed Device numbers from SCXI-1600

Old system - Works! : Labview 9.0 on Dell laptop win XP.
I have a client that uses multiple laptops & multiple SCXI chassis with 1600 USB DAQ controller mod. Each time a “new” 1600 was used a new SCXI chassis was installed and the new 1600 was given the next device number (Ex. Dev1, Dev2, Dev3). I would use the DAQmx System class Node, DevNames property to see which device I had and go from there. (Note: this still worked on LV ver. 11 & MAX 5.x ?)
I upgraded to LV 2012 (32 bit) fix#3 with MAX 5.3.1 and the Device number (Dev1) is now replaced with “Mod1”! I know I could program a workaround, but I would rather have the names go back to the old Device numbers!

Thank you for posting. I recently noticed this problem and reported it to R&D as CAR #362997. The change of SCXI-1600 default name from "Dev1" to "Mod1" seems to have been introduced in NI-DAQmx 9.4. I can't guarantee anything, but the fix is currently on track to go into the next version of NI-DAQmx (excluding patch releases).
For now, I'm afraid you'll have to work around the problem. Here are a few ways you can do that:
Manually rename the device in MAX on each system.
Programmatically rename the device using the NI System Configuration API. Look at <LabVIEW>/examples/nisyscfg/Rename Aliases.vi for an example.
Change your application to use a different default name or to detect the device differently (e.g. using the DAQmx System >> DevNames and DAQmx Device >> ProductType properties).
