EA3500 problom

i want to use QOS but Cloud firmware's consequent not good as what i want. I have been use QOS in Classic firmware mode and that is very good. so, i want to know how can i go into the classic firmware mode, not cloud firmware mode after i entre 192.168.1.1

You should still be able to utilize QoS using the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware. It is the Media Prioritization that will let you decide which device or application to get bandwidth priority. This link will give you overview of the Media Prioritization feature of a Linksys Smart Wifi router: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=25665. Good thing for new Linksys routers now is that users have the option to rollback to the previous firmware if you don't like to manage your router with the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware. This link will give you step by step procedure on how to do it: Rolling back the Router firmware to the Classic Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router web interface.

  • How do I change the IP address of my PC connected to a EA3500 router ?

I have a PC with Windows 7 connected wirelessly to a EA3500 router. How do I change the IP address on my PC ?

What type of ip address were you talking about? Is it the private ip address that the computer gets from a DHCP server/router or the public ip address that the computer gets from your ISP? If you were talking about the private ip address (e.g. 192.168.1.1) then you can easily assign a static ip address to your computer itself. If you were talking about the public ip address then you don’t need to worry of changing the ip address it’s because the ip address will change from time to time.

Don't use the CD software its not necessary.
Infact put it in the trash.
Your router will have an IP address in the range 192.168.1.1
Connect your router to your Mac via Ethernet cable (They usually supply one with the router and don't worry which end goes where the Mac LAN socket is bi-directional)
Also connect your router to your telephone line.
Now open your Web browser Safari . Type in the IP address above and a Javascript control panel will launch
Enter the default password and username (They are on a label on the router )
Your now have the ability to set up your router.
Your will need the password and user name supplied to you by your ISP at a minimum.
Enter these and most modern routers automatically configure the basic networking setting.
You now need to go to the security setting and set this as WPA2 Personal (NOT Enterprise) or WPA2 with AES and TKIP which ever it refers to and create a pass-phase. WRITE it down
    You should be online.
Now remove the cable and connect to the Wifi and enter that passphase.

  • Can I set up a default website for my guest network on an EA3500?

Just got a new EA3500, and plan to use its guest network feature to allow Internet access but not access to my LAN.  Wondering if I can set it up so that users on the guest network bring up a particular website when they open their browser.  I didn't see anything about this in the user's guide or in the forums.

That's actually how Guest Access feature works. You can share internet to your guest/visitors without giving them access to your local network. You may configure the Guest Access settings on the router using Linksys Smart Wifi through the local access interface; check this site for the instructions, http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=b509a1805dd6416ebb0e35a7e5a58937_Configuring_Guest...

  • EA3500, not able to access Cicso Cloud Connect

I've gone over this a couple times and I just can't seem to figure it out.
I just purchased an EA3500 because I absolutely need guest access. I set everything up through the Cisco Connect application on the CD and all was well.
I figured it's time to get into the whole cloud connect app thing, as this is why I chose this router over another but after creating the account and activating through email, I constantly get the message that I need to associate my router with my account.
The PC I am using is directly connected to the router through a cable. I'm not sure what else I am to do at this point. The content of the entire message basically is telling me to head to ciscocloudconnect.com with the PC connected to the router that I want associated and to follow the directions.
    1. There are no directions... I get that message every time.
    2. I've tried rebooting the router and then logging in to the website - that gives me a message saying there's no router detected, meaning that somehow the site IS detecting the router, I just somehow haven't associated it.
But as I mentioned, I don't see any manual steps to do so.
I could be missing something, so I just need a little help. I have changed my router ip from the defaul 192 to something else, so maybe that could be it? I have also changed the wifi from wps to manual. Those are really the only 2 things ive done that I could even think of affecting the cloud stuff.
Any help would be appreciated. If I don't have this resolved by tomorrow evening I am going to just return it and get something else.
    Thanks in advance.

    Update:
    Fixed.
The online firmware check reported no new firmware. Went to the EA3500 downloads section and saw new firmware enabling the CCC. Flashed that and all is well now.

  • EA3500 - Windows was unable to connect... (Win 7 and Win 8.1 have done this off and on)...

I recently purchased a Linksys EA3500 router and am using it as the sole router in my home network.  I have primarily had three devices connected to the network computers/tablets -  two running Win7 and one running Win8.1.
The first few days were OK but then the Win 8.1 system would not connect to the network (see the error message below).  "Windows was unable to connect..."  I tried the problem troubleshooter, power cyclilng the comptuer, power cycling the router.  Updating the router firmware to the latest (it added a .1 at the end).  Uninstalling and reinstalling wireless drivers on the computer.  I've reset the router to factory defaults.  I've run the router with and without wifi passwords.
This morning I was able to connect the Win 8.1 system to the network.  Not sure what changed overnight.  However, today I have had two instances of a different computer, one of the Win 7 systems, suffering the same problem.  Different hardware.  The Win 8.1 system is an Asus T100 tablet/netbook using a Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter.  The Win 7 system is a Dell E6540 laptop using a Dell Wireless  1506 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz adapter manufactured by Atheros Communications, Inc.
Last night, when I was having problems with the Win 8.1 system, I should note that it worked fine with the 5 GHz network.  The laptop, however, does not support 5 GHz and now that it's suffering the same problem my only work-around is a cellular hotspot.
I'm suspecting the router at this point.  Has anyone else seen this?  Any ideas what could be causing it, what I could do to fix it or what I might do to help diagnose the problem(s) ?  I'm more than willing to run third-party software to analyze and better understand what is happening on a network level (I would actually like to understand as much as anyone is willing to get me started on).
If I am unable to determine why certain systems almost seem to become "banned" from my network while others are working just fine then I'm going to have to return this device and try something else.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi @daved31,
You are on the right track. Checking the Wireless MAC Filter is one of the troubleshooting steps. For 2.4 GHz frequency, the suggested channels are 1, 3, 6, 9 and 11. For the 5 GHz, I suggest to use the highest channel. Those channels will give you a better signal, just make sure that no other wireless device is using it to avoid wireless interference.
If only one wireless device is not connecting wirelessly, we should focus on the wireless device itself because we know that the router/access point is working since the other wireless devices are working wirelessly.
I suggest to delete preferred networks on the laptop. Here's the link that may help: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/GetArticle.aspx?docid=85537a14b0214be48217c733bba9ac65_Removing_Wirele...

  • EA3500 in bridge/repeater mode - can't get it working!

    Hi all,
I have a EA3500 as my primary wireless router. I have cable service and my EA3500's WAN port is connected to my cable modem. I have a few devices (NAS, etc) connected to LAN ports via Ethernet and other devices that connect wirelessly. With the single router, everything works fine.
My issues are when trying to add a second EA3500 to extend the range of my network. I've tried following Linksys' instructions on bridge mode as well as cascading (LAN to LAN).
No matter what I try, I can't get the second router to work properly. My main router is set to a LAN address of 192.168.11.1 and I am setting the second to 192.168.11.2. I am also setting the SSID and security settings the same on both routers. However, once the second router reboots I have devices connecting to it which are then unable to reach the Internet.
My end goal is to have the second router in a media room where my PlayStation, TV, and audio components will be able to connect to it and access both my NAS on the LAN and the Internet. Can anyone provide instructions on exactly how to set these things up? I'm about to throw both of these in the trash and start over with a different brand.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jim

    Hello lootcorp,
Try checking the connections between the modem, 1st EA3500, and the 2nd EA3500. See which ethernet cables are connected from one port to another (from the modem to the 1st and 2nd router. Try changing ethernet cables if possible. To cascade the routers using LAN to LAN method, here's a link:
Cascading or Connecting a Linksys router to another router
Do not forget to reset the routers before you cascade them. I would opt for the LAN to WAN method of cascading. That way, you have 2 sets of wireless networks with different SSIDs and passwords.
Bonne Chance and keep us in the loop.

  • Can't get EA3500 routers to connect to internet.

I'm trying to upgrade a pair of WRT54G routers to a new pair of EA3500 routers, but I cannot get the modems to connect to the internet.  I've tried both of the new modems, and multiple connection cables between the Charter cable modem and the router, but I have yet to get a usable internet connection.  I'm able to get to the router settings by browsing to 192.168.1.1, but the settings show there is no internet connection.  My old routers still work great if I switch the cable modem over to them, so the problem is not likely with the modem or cable connection.  Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?

  • Homegroup worked with E1200, doesn't work with EA3500

Just upgraded from an E1200 to an EA3500 router. Everything works except Homegroup - my PCs cannot see each other. If i put the E1200 back in the mix it works fine. I do not have UPnP turned enabled on either router. Any idea what I'm missing, or need to set on the EA3500? Thanks.

That led me down the right path - thanks. I had one PC set to a public instead of home network. Thanks!

  • Probloms with my zen nano shutting off randomly-please hel

I just bought a GB Zen Nano Plus about a week ago. It worked fine until I had to change the battery. Now every time I play the mp3 music it automatically shuts down. I messed around with it and I figured out that every time the backlght shuts off, so does the player. It shuts down after 5 seconds, and that is when the backlight is set to shut off. It only does this while playing mp3 music (I can isten to the radio for as long as I want). This is pretty wierd because when I use the battery that came with the player, which is almsot totally dead, it doesn't do that.
If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, please respond, thanks in advance!!!
by reading other posts i guess many others have this same problom, really messed up isn't it's!Message Edited by nc_4546 on 06-08-2006 06:46 PM

Lots of the MuVo players suffer from this and are normally sorted by reloading the firmware.

  • Small NAT table on EA3500

i was thinking about buying EA3500 but it has only 64MB ram +  it support only 1024 Maximum Simultaneous Connections ( it that joke from linksys or what ) and only  224 Total Simultaneous Throughput
so 1 or 2 torrent and the Nat table will be filled
+ linksys killed 3rd party firmware by using marvel SoC
    http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/bar/77-max-simul-conn
LOL the funny thing the X2000 getway support 34,925 Maximum Simultaneous Connections and its in the same price range or less and the EA2700 supprot 34,925 Maximum Simultaneous Connections too and its price about half of EA3500 O_o

If you are using the 1-to-1 NAT feature of RV082, the 1-to-1 NAT table supports 10 entries, each of which can be a range of IP addresses.

  • Linksys ea3500 dropping wireless connection

    Hello,
I have a very frustrating problem.  I am using a brand new Linksys EA3500.  We have 2 laptops connecting to it.  One is an older XP machine which never has any problem.  The other, a Vista machine, periodically drops the connection to the internet when connecting wirelessly.  It never loses the connection to the Linksys EA3500 router, it just says "Access: local" and there is no internet.  If I plug the Vista machine in wired to the router it works fine.  I've tried my old router and I don't get this problem, which leads me to believe that my wireless adapter is functioning properly on the Vista machine.
When the vista machine drops the internet, I can still get into the router configuration at 192.168.1.1, but when I click on the tab which says wireless it sometimes says:  "Router not found.  You are not connected to your router."  It says this despite the fact that I am connected to the router???
I've tried reinstalling Windows, that didn't make any difference.  I am convinced that it is a problem with the router, but I can't find any settings to adjust which remedy the situation.  Of coarse, I've tried reseting my modem and Router many times...doesn't resolve the issue.  I've also gone into DOS and done an ipconfig release_all and renew_all.
I work in IT and I understand the basics of TCP/IP and DHCP.  When I connect wired with the vista laptop my ip is 192.168.1.112, when wireless it is 192.168.1.142.  Please advise.
    Thank you

Are you using the classic firmware or the linksys smartwifi? If the other laptop is working fine, I would say that the router is working fine. But to make sure that everything all things are covered, try to change the wireless settings of the router as well as update the adapter on the laptop that’s experiencing the problem. For the wireless settings of the router, you may try: channel width: 20MHz only; channel: 1, 3, 6, or 9; security: wpa2 personal.
