Ea3500 won't let me connect with IOS device

When I bought this router, I'm pretty sure I could connect with my ipad.  Now, when I try to connect, Safari crashes. So I tried with my iphone - and I get a message saying my browser isn't supported and I must download your frigging APP in order to access the router.  READ MY LIPS - I DON"T WANT TO INSTALL YOUR FILTHY APP ON MY DEVICE IN ORDER TO ACCESS A WEB PAGE!  Why is it that everyone thinks its ok to dump their lousy app on my device so I can gain simple access to a device?  Make it an option if you like but don't force me to install your app.  If you don't fix this it'll be the last Linksys device I ever own.

so, I get the usual email from customer service - patronizing and totally ignoring my complaint (included below).  I am so tired of first tier responses being TOTALLY DISCONNECTED from the complaint.  This one probably was completely automated - which means Linksys/Cisco have a policy of not responding to complaints unless someone really gets irritated.
I won't bore you with details, but I am an electrical and networking engineer that has many years hands on experience with network gear including purchases in the millions from Cisco.  I don't need to be told I have to connect my equipment (and my security model) to some discount network company or that I have to give an APP access to my mobile devices in order to access what is literally a web server. 
All they have to do is provide a URL for bypassing the mobile check and not put fancy web code in that doesn't run on standard browsers.  We don't need MAGIC web pages to manage a router.  SIMPLE HTML WILL DO FINE.

    I have had this problem before connecting to wireless networks, although not all of them. I just moved in with a friend who gave me the network name and password. Although my powerbook G4 sees her network, it shows an error message when i try to connect with the password. She set up the Netgear (WGT624 v3) router using her DELL and everyone else in the house (using PC's) don't have this problem.     thats OK I know how hard wi-fi is to setup, I've spent many hours in the past trying to figure out how to set mine up! Its usually the simplest of things.
    Your MAC address or Airport ID (as Apple call it) is a string of a series of 6 two digit numbers/letters separated by a colon e.g. 00:2b:35:18:af:32
    This identifies your Airport card on a network & your address can be viewed in System Pref.s/Network, then from the drop down "Show" menu choose "Airport" & then click the Airport tab that appears in the row of buttons & you should see your Airport card's MAC address (Airport ID). But if you cant find that option don't worry about it.
    While your in Network Sys Pref click show port config. & drag the Airport entry to the top of the list.
    If you do try WEP again, go to router's
    Wireless Settings > Wireless network
    & insure the Mode is set to "g and b" just incase.
    Then > Security Options & click WEP.
    Then in > Security Encryption > Authentication type
    set to Shared key
    Also > Encryption Strength
    set 128bit
    After that go down to > Security Encryption (WEP) Key
    in Passphrase enter your new password & click the Generate button on the right - this will bring up your HEX key in the checked "Key" box below.
    write this new generated key down & click Apply & log out.
    Now on your PB open the Airport network entry window, change top box from "WEP Password" to "WEP 40/128-bit HEX"
    Then enter the generated key you wrote down into the box below, & click ok/join.
    Keep 'em crossed & you "should" join.

    i recenty got an ipod (yesterday) and when i tried to connect to my wifi i couldn't. my old ipod, my phone, and my laptop were able to connect to my wifi. i called someone about this and he tried to fix it. he said that my password is correct. he also had my try to connect it after i restarted my ipod's network, but it still doesn't work. we tried to connect to my wifi after the security lock was taken off but it still doesn't work and he doesn't know what else to do. HELP!!

    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen

    It depends on what iPhone you have.
    If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
    If it's an iPhone 5, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and that requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB RAM.

  • My brand new out the box airport extreme won't let anything connect to it.

    My brand new out the box 5th gen (2013) airport extreme won't let anything connect to it. I've tried several setups from sratch by the book. multiple resets and restores still nothing. It just keeps telling mt that the password is in correct even though it is 100% right.
    My curren set up is as follows. Phone Line -> ADSL2+ router -> Airport extreme. There is also an old airport express running of the router, this was done because the airport extremem was failing to work.
    Trying to connect:
    2x iPhone 4s
    2x macbook air
    2x Mac Pro.

    You will want the Extreme to be in bridge mode if it is currently disabled. (see image below)
    This will allow the ADSL2+ router to perform two important functions for your entire network: 1) Provide both the DHCP & NAT services, and 2) Provide PPPoE support to allow access to your ADSL ISPs network.
    If the Extreme is left in its default state, a router, it will conflict with the first item and you will have want is known as a "double NAT" condition. Something you will want to avoid.
