EA6500 - only problems....may I return it ?

Hi Folks,
After almost one month, I believe I still have time to return the router, but I'd like opinions first; I am having lots of issues even with the latest firmware;
Anytime that I need to restart the modem, I unplug the EA6500 as well. Then I restart the modem, wait until it gets the IP (4 steady leds) and only then I plug the EA6500 again...everytime I do this, the EA6500 getting the Internet signal is a nightmare ! I have network but "No internet"....
Then I try to log into the router.....the password gets reset back to "admin", it deletes my own previously recorded password and the DHCP reservation table, I have to restart from scratch ! Other settings are lost too, like network SSID, etc;
Also, the wireless network seems weak, even with the laptop close to it;
Please, has anyone had similar issues ? Have people managed to solve them ?

It may be a hardware problem on the router since the settings goes back to defaults and that you have to re-configure the settings over again. The settings can only go back to defaults once you press the reset button on the router for like 15 seconds. You can try one more time in setting up the router but do make sure that the internet connection directly to the modem (without the router) is stable. Reset the router for 30 seconds and power it down for 30 seconds also. Set the internet connection and make sure wired internet is working with it. Change the MTU size of the router to 1365 if you have Cable internet or 1472 if you DSL. It does sound like the router is intermittent and lowering the MTU size from the default size of 1500 is a usual fix that many other users have tried for such cases. You then need to set the SSID as well as the wireless channel and wireless security. For the 2.4 GHz network, use channel 1, 3, 6, 9, or 11. As for wireless security, use WPA2 Personal.
