EA6500 - Problem with Ipv4 firewall disabled

But with my new EA6500.
When i disable the IPv4 firewall, i'm not able to access a lot of websites(the homecommunity included).
I think its time to take some action about this problem, i want to access my router remotely, but if i disable the firewall i cant acess it.
This is very disappointing

I have some equipaments that i need to access remotely, like my IpCameras purchased together with the new router. With the firewall enabled, i'm not able to connect with them.
With my old router(its old, sooo old), i dont have any of this issues, but i'll give a try when I get home today, i'm in work now, but i have no expectation that will work.
This is a strange and non sense bug, cause i'm acessing the sites, not the sites accessing my router, a disabled firewall could not be a problem, not to access a web site.
I have problems of many disconnects too, like i saw in other threads, but this is another subject.
I think all that i can do is wait till a FW update, cause i'll not be able to return the router, and my old router is **bleep**

EDIT: I forgot to mention, before post here, i already tried to reset, re-configure so many times. I'm with the latest FW.

Go back one firmware version into release 7.6
I had similar problems with an IPv6 tunnel not working anymore after the 7.6.1 upgrade.
When I 'rolled' back to 7.6, my IPv6 tunnel came back working.
I also use the old Airport Express application on my OS/X, the new one with the globe on the black screen is missing IPv6 tabs in the application..

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Problem with Checkbox that disables/enables other components.

As I show in the title, I have problems with a checkbox that enables/disables another components (three exactly).
I have done the follow:
1.- Set property "AutoSubmit" true in the SelectOneChoice
2.- Set "Disabled" property true or false depending if the SelectOneChoice is selected or not
(#...selectBooleanCheckbox.value?false:true})
3.- Set the Partial triggers to the SelectOneChoice in the three components.
CASE 1: The SelectOneChoice is unmarked. The three components appears disabled and when I mark the SelectOneChoice, this components appears enabled. The thing works ;)
CASE 2: The SelectOneChoice is marked. The three components appears enabled and when I unmark the SelectOneChoice, the components continue enabled. They don't disable until I press the submit button.
how can i make that the components appears disabled when i unmark the checkbox?
i try with de ChangeValueListener, but it only works where the SelectOneChoice changes from unmarked to marked.

Problems with Windows Firewall and MSDTC on WSFC 2012R2

We have a two node SQL 2014 Std WSFC configuration running on a W2012R2 cluster. The SQL WSFC Role includes an MSMQ resource that uses transactional queues.
When setting up this configuration I was unable to get DTC working with SQL talking to MSMQ without clustering DTC and ended up clustering DTC in a separate role. It now works.
However when SQL and DTC run on different nodes distributed transactions fails if Windows Firewall is enabled. I have configured the Windows Firewall to allow all DTC rules, both incoming and outgoing on both nodes but no go. If I turn off Windows Firewall
it works.
Assume it has to do with DTC running in the cluster context and the firewall not. Have googled quite a bit but can't find anything that feels related.
Any ideas?

BEFW11S4- problems with internal firewall?

Hi,
I have had this router for the past three years. We had to movfe the set-up around and now we can not access certain websites due to security issues. I contact my ISP and when I hook my computer up directly to the ISP modem all the websites work. When I hook up my linksys router I can't access them any longer. My ISP told me this is because of an internal firewall in this router. Any suggestions on how to change these internal settings. I read through the user guide and I'm guessing that i need to reconfigure everything, but wanted to ask first!

i think you should try upgrading the router's firmware .. after the upgrade reset and reconfigure the router ..

Airtunes having problems with multiples speakers

Airtunes works very well when I just have the music play through the remote speakers. But when I try to get it to play music through both my computer's speakers and the remote speakers at the same time, I get a message saying
"An error occured while connecting to the remote speaker 'Bedroom.' An unknown error occured (-3256)."
Then the music starts playing through my computer speakers but not the remote speakers.
Any thoughts?

Never mind, I found an article in the Apple support articles telling me how to solve this issue. It was a problem with my firewall settings.

Problem with DVDs (X-

I think I also have a bad card. Does this sound like one?Anytime I insert a DVD my computer will BSOD. THis started right when I got my X-FI in May. I have ruled out everything in my computer from being the cluprit except this. I have the latest bios from ASUS (A8n sli-premium, rev. 009, I think). Is it a DVD-Audio or DVD-Video disc? Do you have any firewall software(brand?) installed in your computer as I remember reading from some past forum user posts mentioning of similar problem with some firewall software when using with DVD-Audio. I think is Kerio firewall.

Problems with Scientific American podcasts.

I cannot download any podcasts from scientific america. I was able to download 60-second science up until about a week ago, now I'm getting error 8006 for all 60-second podcasts and error 9006 for science talk. All other podcasts are working fine.

Got a second reply back from Apple, they are insisting it is a firewall issue. They say that because the podcasts are user made, something in the way Scientific American makes the podcasts is triggering a problem with my firewall while all my other podcasts are working fine. This sounds like hogwash to me but I tried, again, downloading 60-second Science without my firewall, and, it worked, sort of. The lastest one, which iTunes tried to download automatically when I ran iTunes earlier, still wouldn't download. But, when I had it show all available episodes and then tried to download the ones from yesterday, they downloaded, even tho they wouldn't download yesterday. This still doesn't solve my problem as I'm not going to turn off my firewall just to download podcasts, but it does seem like a firewall problem. I'm going to make sure my firewall is up to date, although I'm sure it is. Not sure what the next step is here, anyone knowledgeable about firewalls, namely Zone Alarm, have any suggestions?

Problem with edns services configuration

I have problem with configuring firewall for edns services or at last i beliwe its the case.
I will describe problem in short.
I have 2 diferent web-site on one server
First is https://domain.com/subfolder1/index.php with work perfect.
Second is https://domain.com/subfolder2/index.php with dosent work correctly.
When i try open in web browser second page i receive error 404 with means there isnt content like that, the problem occure only wiht conection going by my router cisco 2900.
I checked if it wasnt my dns but after conectin it to different network, problem dosent exist, also from any other network like gsm or even the same ISP but without my cisco.

So this entire process loops every 10 seconds. I reinstalled 10.6 - twice, problem still here. If I log in with the firewall already off then it doesn't happen. If I start the firewall in system prefs then this looping starts happening - even if I stop the firewall the looping continues. The only thing that stops this looping is a logout. I also created another user, same thing happens with the new user.
I'm completely out of ideas on how to fix this one short of a complete reinstall of 10.6 on a newly formatted drive....

The firewall has always been disabled, since I baught my iBook.
There's two issues, the irc app and the videocam app.
Guess the videoapp is an easier issue. The port is 2000-2002
The irc application is I think a little more complicated, it has two settings in the prefs file (the app is IRCLE):
1. In the DCC prefs I flagged the "ADSL, Airport, IPNetRouter and have flagged the auto configure for the Public IP Number (151.51.138.131).
2. There is also a Firewall prefs. I haven't done anything with this. There's an areal called "Ident Settings (OS X only)". There one can flag the "Run Ident on a different port than the usual 113" If one flags that, then you can choose the port (it says it must to be 1024 or greater). "Note: you may need to change your firewall rules to make ident work this way, redirect incoming ident data for TCP port 133 to the port set above"
Does this make any sense?

I can no longer load Google since I upgraded to the new version of fierfox & its definitely not anything to do with my firewall. How do I figure out what the problem is?

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and every time I try to open the home page with the Google search bar teh connection times out and its unable to connect. If I type any other address in the address bar it will open up the site, it's only Google it won't open. I've worked through every step on the Firefox support page and checked all my settings, run scans for malware, checked the firewall settings etc and even with my firewall, antivirus & spam filters all turned off I still can't open Google. I even uninstalled Firefox 4 and went back to version 3.6.16 but still have the same problem. Will I ever be able to Google again? Is there anything else I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Problem with firewall and java on line sites internet explorer

i have been experiencing problems with java on line games because the firewall has blocked usage.On two of them when i press play to play the game a message appears error on page.If i dowload mozilla will i have the same problems? also when downloading from my gmail account again error on page. How do I disable future iOS updates till later date to prevent problems with non iOS compliant Apps?

Hello first time post here so excuse me if my posting etiquette is off and this seems lengthy.
I am a beginning tech (4 months) in a school district that has started the 1 to 1 initiative with iPads (iPad 2).
There is a huge learning curve I am facing as I don't know hardly anything about the new piece of software - apple Configurator. (A side note I was issued my very first iPad in the same time working for the district. BTW liking the iPad a lot).
I am looking for friendly beginning user info on how to operate the Apple Configurator - suggestions? At this time I have only served in an observer capacity as it assigned to someone else in the district to do. However I know this person would appreciate another mind to help out around the problem so I need to get up to speed.
This a story of bumps and scrapes and bruises on the 1-1 initiative in the district and its 4 major hiccups have occurred (that I observed).
I am hoping others have discovered these problems and figured out a way to handle them or avoid them and would be willing to share what you did.
Here goes...
The district started the 1-1 initiative roughly 3 years ago. They had a person in the middle school (way before me) in charge of the iPads. They used the IPhone Configurator device to manage the iPads. My understanding was this was very slow. That person was finally able to retire and took their knowledge they had of the iPhone Configurator utility that they used with them.The district chose to start using the Apple Configurator software this year for iPad management.
We have a brand new person that has been put in charge of this. The person did not know the software either (nor did anyone else in the district).This person has made great strides to learn the software. However there has been some issues along the way:
        1. The school where the iPad 1-1 initiative is a middle school. The students are assigned the same iPad for all three years. As 6th graders come in they are issued an iPad. As the 8th grade finishes up, they head on to high school and the iPads gets recycled to the next 6th graders walking in the door. Each grade level has there own set of apps, so the (finished) 8th graders iPads get reset for the next 6th graders walking in.
The issue is (my understanding) is that the volume purchase apps did not always revert back to the Apple Configurator/App store spread sheets before the iPads were reset. It took an act of congress with Apple to refund these apps because they were lost. Mind you we have 400 iPads in just this school alone so you can see why it was important to get these Volume Purchase Apps refunded to put on the new 6th graders iPads. $$$
         2. When the iPads were given to the students, the Apps would not work and all they would do is shake for a second. The iPads were recollected and redone. Time away from the students and classes.
        3. The iPads were refinished (with all the apps reinstalled) and given to the students. Then the students were given instructions in class how to manually setup their exchange email accounts on their iPads. Turns out the restrictions on the iPads (from the apple Configurator) were set up so the email info they put in could not verify with the exchange server. They wouldn't send or receive. So the iPads were all recalled back (time away from students and their classes again) and redone with the restrictions/ apps reinstalled.
        4. Most recent problem... iOS6 came out and all of a sudden we find out that two of our biggest 3rd party Apps were having problems with it. So it made the Apps at that point worthless. (These are paid for - expensive, most used by the school Apps). Well there was no way to prevent the students from updating to IOS6 on their own (mind you they can't get to the App Store) but they can do the iOS6 update whenever they want. Before the problem was discovered, students were prompted by their iPads and they started doing the iOS6 update. I discovered this and immediately had the secretary send out emails to everyone do not download this thing because it was making problems for existing installed Apps. Of course there are were a few more students that were like "this don't apply to me right?" and they downloaded it anyways.
So after 3 weeks of these apps not working, App update/releases were finally given and they are working again. So far we have only fixed some of iOS6 kids that are in need of those two broken apps.
Now we are at a crossroad with the other 95 installed apps to consider ... if we let the students update to iOS6 to fix the two broken apps will it interfere with the other 93 apps that are working under iOS5.1...
This iOS update thing would be better considered in the summer time for us (for future iOS updates).
So I need to know is there away to prevent this in the future? Is there away to hold off the iOS updates till summer? I've seen people say control it by blocking it through the network but it doesn't prevent them from doing this at home. Where in the apple Configurator can we control this?

You will not be able to block IOS 6. You can try blocking it with a webfilter or firewall but if the students take these home or connect to another network or iTunes they can get it that way.   You will find that the vast majority of all apps will work with 6 or have been updated to work with it by now.

More than likely its a hardware issue, I have never encountered such a problem and best bet is to just go get it replaced. If you have insurance on your device apple will replace it as long as there was no water damage, if you dont have insurance they will charge $200 more or less. Hope you get it fixed
