Each Bridge update kills more features & poor implementation of updates!!

Why is Adobe intent on killing Bridge & handicapping workflow?
Bridge is as much a part of my workflow as Photoshop, however they keep killing useful functions.
First the Export panel was killed off, that function saved me a great deal of time.
Now I find every time they update Bridge or Photoshop, I lose functionality.
In the last major update, I have lost all the tools options in bridge such as 'Batch", 'load into layers', 'Process files' etc.
It seems I'm required to uninstall everything & reinstall it again just to get back some of the features, which seems to be a recurring theme since the introduction of CC.
It is extremely frustrating & time consuming to have to uninstall -> reinstall bridge & photoshop every time there is a major update.

I am having the same issue with Link, posted my response in the Link Forum.

    Both of you should update to iOS 6 and then you will be

  • Error when update: Optional feature not implemented

    Hi, all,
    I got the exception: "[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Optional feature not implemented" when I use MS Access to update my record.
    I searched the forum, but i couldn't get my answer. I can do select and insert into this table. but i couldn't update it. I am using jdbc-odbc driver. Thanks.
    The code I am using:
    int date = 186;
    String id = "BUF";
    String max = id + "_MX";
    //String min = id + "_MN";
    //String prec = id + "_P";
    query = "update " + tableName + " set " + max + "=? where date=?";
    try {
    ps = con.prepareStatement(query);
    ps.clearParameters();
    ps.setFloat(1, getMax());
    // ps.setFloat(2, getMin());
    // ps.setFloat(3, getPrecip());
    ps.setInt(2, date);
    result = ps.executeUpdate();
    ps.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    System.out.println("Database error, " + e.getMessage());

    Thanks everybody! The problem was solved. I should use setDouble() other than setFloat() method.

  • Mail organize by conversation is very poorly implemented

    In Mail organize by conversation is very poorly implemented as this is based upon the subject line. There should be an option to set it by from address, to address. Generally I find that Apple's ability to categorise data i.e. iTunes store is extremely poor, they really need to make their search and categorisation capabilities for more advanced in the options available to a user.

    If I understand correctly, I am having the opposite problem:
    Messages with the same subject, but with different senders, are not consolidated into a single thread/conversation.
    For example, I receive many emails via a web form, where each message contains the same subject.  In 10.6, these messages were ALL listed as a single thread that could be expanded/collapsed.  In 10.7, they are now all separate messages in the Inbox (organized by "Conversation"), unless the same sender submitted more than once, in which case they are grouped together.  What used to be a neat and condensed display is now a very long list.
    I have just upgraded to Lion, and I have tried the various combinations of View by Conversation on/off, Include related messages on/off, etc., but I am unsure of whether this behavior is normal or not.
    So, here's my question:  When organized by Conversation, what is the criteria used to determine the threading?  and, can this be changed?
    It appears to be organized by Sender, but this post indicates otherwise.  I like Peter's suggestion.
    (And yes, I have already rebuilt the Evelope Index.)

    Any word on whether there will be upgrades to BlackBerryBridge for BB10 so that BBM and text messages will be available? BlackBerry Bridge is pointless now since I've gone from my Bold 9900 to the Z10.

    Hello. I think there should be an update soon adding more features other than the ability to Remote Control and tether.

    I am looking for a very simple home accounting application. iBank seems to not be very intuitive and it has more features than I need. I am looking for the ability to create a budget and keep a bank register with the ability to connect to my bank and do updates.

    I have a small business, I chose Quickbooks because anything else cost much more. That triggered the hiring of a bookkeeper who knew how to use it. It was not the cheapest choice after all.

    i am very much in favor of stability ,reliability and performance but the fact remains
    that Toshiba Techs have made a conscious  and willfull decision to under clock the laptop and make no
    mention that the bios updates may result in processing reduction, as for the call to tech support it was fruitless
    because they are clueless as to why such things happen (Corporate Denial).
    In Canada there were two very close speced laptops
    one for 899.00 CAD with 1.9 GHz CPU
    and the one I bought 2 months ago 1149.00 CAD 2.0 GHz
    To me this looks like Toshiba overclocking the laptop to get out the retail door.
    its not just affecting me, it affects everyone that buys a Toshiba laptop.
    I will not back down on this point. The origional advertised and paid for specs, should
    be restored in an upcoming bios update. If not, then it just confirms my original
    findings.
    This is refered to as "BAIT and SWITCH" and the practice is illegal in Canada.

  • Help on "optional feature not implement" exception

    I am trying to use JDBC to update the MS Access table. the SQL is :
    " insert int table1 ([file name],[file description]) values ('DXXCP','RPF PRINT FILE FOR UPDATES');
    By runing this statement, I keep getting "optional feature not implemented" exeption. can any one tell me how to insert this record into Access using JDBC? thanks

    This successfully inserted your strings into an Access database:
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.PreparedStatement;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.ResultSetMetaData;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class InsertTest
        public static void main(String [] args)
            try
                Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
                Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=InsertTest.mdb");
                String query = "INSERT INTO table1([file name],[file description]) VALUES(?, ?)";
                PreparedStatement statement = connection.prepareStatement(query);
                statement.setString(1, "DXXCP");
                statement.setString(2, "RPF PRINT FILE FOR UPDATES");
                int rowCount = statement.executeUpdate();
                System.out.println(rowCount + " rows affected");
                statement.close();
                connection.close();
            catch (SQLException sqle)
                System.err.println("SQL State: " + sqle.getSQLState());
                System.err.println("SQL Error: " + sqle.getErrorCode());
                sqle.printStackTrace(System.err);
            catch (Exception e)
                e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    }Use PreparedStatement.

  • New free Runtime license for Oracle xe, and more features

    This comment is related to the other post, but is different.
    Why oracle don't have a free runtime license like Ms Access.
    Maybe having more restrictions, allowing several instance at a time.
    Having more features to make easier to install for small programs.
    Thinking to write an small application I ask my self why an Oracle dba, can't use Oracle as the end database, and I have to use Ms Access.
    Maybe the size of the database could be reduced, and not include apex, I think could even block database procedures, but to enable an option, please.
    I ask to Oracle, to please think a solution to replace msaccess runtime, etc., making easier the install, desintall, etc. for very very very small databases.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    though I'm not an Oracle representative, I have an opinion on your request I want to share with you.
    Oracle Database has some features which by design won't allow easy embedding. Disabling those features isn't really easy and you wouldn't look at just some features less but at a software that behaves differently in wide areas. What would be the advantage to use it?
    I don't think you have to use MS Access, though. There are small embeddable databases available, even from Oracle (Oracle Berkeley DB to name one). So why should Oracle re-invent the wheel by downgrading a full-featured database that long that it is embeddable when other projects started to support this by design already?

  • Does Bridge CC have more text animation presets then Bridge CS6?

    so I upgrade from CS6 to CC and did not install Bridge CC. Then while in After Effects CC I try to view the text animation presets, but window informs me I do not have Bridge CC installed. I then download and install Bridge CC and view the animation presets, but seem all the same as Bridge CS6 has.
    My question is - Does Bridge CC have more text animation presets then Bridge CS6.
    Is there another procedure to acquire more? Did I click past something on my first launch of Bridge CC?

    My question is - Does Bridge CC have more text animation presets then Bridge CS6.
    Best try this in the After Effect forum, to my knowledge not many AE users are here at a regular base. Besides that, every suite version has its dedicated applications to work together in that suite, CC is no exception to that so for best practice use Bridge CC.

  • How to get more features for Captivate 6

    Hi all,
    I've installed Captivate 6 on my laptop at work, I use it for creating training material for our project management system. I was just looking at some Adobe video tutorial and there are some features shown in the videos that I can't find on my captivate (for example Drag and Drop interaction, some particular widget like "Hangman" etc...). I tried to download them, clicking on the "Download more interactions" but there are any available. So, is there a way to get those features, at least those shown in your video tutorial for Captivate 6?
    Thank you very much
    Elena

    Hello,
    thank you for your answer.
    I have the version 6.0, so maybe I can't get those features because of the version that I have.
    Even if I click on "Download more" on the Interactions window, there are no Interactions available, but is it a problem related to my version or it's because there aren't available new features?
    Thank you very much,

    Hello and welcome,
    I cannot remember for the Hangman interaction anymore, but Drag&Drop was only available for subscription users, for version 6.1.0.3190 Maybe it was not clear in the video you are pointing at, that not all features were available for box licenses. Which version do you have?

    I wish To Do List was a seperate program with archiving and categories with autoreplies and follow-up reminders. Needs more features.
    It would also be good to work as a project management system. Great for work or around the house duties.
    Does anyone know of any good software like this for mac?

    This is probably a better search there:

    I don't see anything Oracle in your question.   It looks like you're getting an error using Microsoft's SQL Server driver, did you mean to post this to a forum on  Microsoft's site perhaps?
