Each page of Oracle Report Generates separate pdf file.

I have a problem that i want that oracle report runs for one time and generates sepatate pdf files for each oracle report page.eg. if there are 8 page of report then 8 pdf files should generate (one pdf file for each page) but the condition is that the print job is set to NO and page range should not be given each time.

What version of Reports are you using?
If it's 10g then have a look at Report Bursting as this should enable you to send the report to multiple files based on a repeating group.

Hi all,
I have RPT files created in CR 2008 designer. My aim is to use CR.NET SDK with Visual Studio 2010 to create an application that would allow me to load these RPT file(s) to my application which then exports to PDF.
However, the catch is that my RPT files have groupings (each group starts a new page) and I want each group to be printed into separate PDF files, with each filename being the group name.
I have done a sample windows application with the CR viewer loading the RPT file and exporting the entire RPT output to PDF. But is there a way to iterate through the Groups in a report and print them to PDF separately?
Any suggestions much appreciated!

I am using CRVS2010.
Using the CR designer is not efficient for me to run the report for every group and export each to PDF - this would take a lot of time for a larger report which is the reason for a programmatic solution.
There are third party programs that achieve this. There seems to be a discrepancy if those applications can use the API to burst By Group and you mention that is cannot be done? ([example program that can do this|http://www.milletsoftware.com/Tab3.htm])

Field error when generated to pdf file

hi all,
please help.
I have an oracle report generated which will show numeric figures out. eg. 500.00
when this report generated to pdf file, the numeric figures field becomes 4835.50.
Does anyone comes across this issue? i checked with my software vendor and they said this is an oracle bug when generating oracle report 6i to pdf file.
Is this true?

Exporting or Printing each page of a Crystal Report to a separate pdf file.

Is there a way to export or print each page of a Crystal report to a separate pdf file? If possible, I would look to use the family nunmber field in my report as the file name. This is not required, but would be helpful. Thanks

Standalone CR Designer doesn't have the ability but CR Server or BOE does. Or if you have a .NET or Java you could write an app that would spit out one page at a time.

Create separate PDF files from MS Access Database report field

In the development or update of pipe specifications the valve specifications (database records) that are associated with the piping specification are updated or corrected. These revised valve specifications are then exported as a group through the Access Report Print to PDF file with the piping specification name for the file name. Each separate valve specification within this single file needs to have its own PDF Valve spec file name so that each valve spec can be attached to project engineering documents or for purchasing. All of the valves are coded in the in the database and projects with this general description, V-?????? with each question mark representing a descriptive part of the valve. MS Access database has this V-?????? field name for every valve record in this large database. The current practice is extract from the single PDF file page thumbnails and rename every extracted file. With over 1000 valve records being updated, the task is time consuming.

Report generated to PDF ignores parameter

I run a report in reports-runtime.
At the beginning I'm asked for parameters and then the report will be displayed on screen.
So far so good.
But when I want to generate the report to a pdf-file
( Menue File - Generate to File - PDF)
I get the same parametermask as before, but whatever parameters I use, they will be ignored.
Though when I write them to a boilerplate text they are correctly displayed.
Generating the file without previewing brings a report with the correct number of pages (as I can see in the display of the background engine), but when I try to open it with Acrobat Reader I get the error-message File does not begin with '%PDF-'.
How can I get a correct PDF-report?

Email each page of a report to different address

I need to run a hyperion report in PDF and send the output to 100 different emails, now the catch is that each page of the report will have a different store and I need to email a particular page of the report to the appropriate store email. I can just send the whole 100 page report to 100 emails addresses which is not what we want or create 100 reports, one for each store which will retrieve for only one store but then updating 100 reports will be tedious. I think this functionality is not there in HR/Financial Reproting and I've looked at all the options but didn't find anything appropriate for this.
Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for reply, earlier what I did is set Store as a Page dimension and that gives me 100 pages with a different store on each page. Now with your suggestion to set Store as user POV and sending each bursting report to different email. I'm not sure how to that automatically? Are you suggesting we manually put in different email for each bursting report? Is there a way to automate this process, I've tried all options in the Batch and Scheduler. BTW we are using reprots v 7.2.

Parameter issue - report not generating any pdf files

Hi All,
I'm trying to run a report which generates pdf files. Is there any limitation on the parameter string size? For one of the parameter values - '11F EA Accept nonhonor ASnSOMnSON_20091201090150846' the report is not generating any pdf files. I assumed the reason is of the keyword 'AS' in it and created another parameter value - '11F EA Accept nonhonor AnS-SOM-SON_20091202074331997', but it is also not generating any pdf files. I get this message from Adobe Reader " There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be opened because it has no pages. " The report is working normally when i hardcode the same parameter values into the logic. Any suggestions on this?

That report is working normally for all the parameter values, except this one. It is not working only if i pass the value - ''11F EA Accept nonhonor ASnSOMnSON_20091201090150846' as a parameter. It is generating the pdf files when i hardcode the same value into sql query logic in the data template, instead of passing it as a parameter. Please advise.

While setting up the links, if you choose to open the file in a new window then you won't face this issue, then you can simply switch to the previous file and bookmark view will remain as it is.

Is there a way of repeating an header on each page of a report with the built-in expressions representing the new value on each header. Example, Page 1 is correct but page 2 - the permit number, address and Tract does not match up, it repeats all the

According to your description, you want repeat a show with expression to show Permit Number and Address dynamically on each page. Right?
In Reporting Services, table header is not in any group row, so when you put expression with data field into header row, it will only return the first row of that data row. This is the reason why it always shows the information as Page 1.
In this scenario, we can make records group on Permit Number. Then we put the Permit Number and Address in the group header. Set page break between each group instance.

Can someone offer assistance on how I can go about achieving the ability to show and print the Report Column headers on each page of any report using the Print Attributes of APEX 3.0? These reports will be printed using Excel and Word.
I read a thread with a similar request but the answer seems vague for my level of understanding.
I am connected to a print server and using BI Publisher.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You are using a very powerful tool – BI Publisher – why do you need Excel or Word for printing? Is there a special need only Excel or Word can provide?
One of the major advantages of using BI Publisher is that it's taking care of all these tedious tasks like reasonable page breaking, headers and footers, and also table headers.

Hard to tell w/out knowing exactly which application and version you are drafting this report in. Often the footer on the first page is distinct from the footers of the second page through end - quick fix: add the footer to the second page and you should then be able to format it to continue on through the end of the report.

Do you mean audit history? One method would be similar to the following sample that you could extend to create a PDF from the data returned:

BUT the method used above via JCR Query is an implementation detail. For future proofing, you should use the ReplicationStatus status = page.adaptTo(ReplicationStatus.class in your code to get the audit logs for a particular page, rather than a straight JCR query. Bring up the property inspector against the report object. In here you will see the settings for HTML output. Remove the entry against the "After Page Value" property.
