Each slide stops at end

Hello.
I made a captivate movie and it seems to pause after each
slide. I need to keep pressing play in order to play continuously.
I could not find an option for this, any ideas?
Thank you.
- Adrian.

Hi Adrian
When you record movies in Captivate, you have a choice in how
they are recorded. By default, automatic mode is enabled. (Click
Options > Recording Options... > Recording Options tab and
see if there is a check mark in the "Enable auto recording" check
box. Normally this is enabled by default and I'm guessing it is
enabled here.
Now, take a look at the Recording mode drop-down. Here is
where you probably changed something and failed to realize it. If
you choose Demonstration, the resulting movie should just play
along without pausing. But if you choose either of the Simulation
modes, interactive objects are inserted that typically pause the
movie at each slide. This results in the behavior you are
describing. So how do you fix this?
1. You *could* simply change the recording mode back to
Demonstration, then re-record the movie
OR
2. You could edit each slide to remove any interactive
objects (Click Boxes, Buttons or Text Entry Boxes), then adjust the
timing so things play through as desired.
Cheers... Rick

how to remove a black border box that continously tabs to each field automatically till end of web page; restarts to top of page, cannot stop this box. Scroll bar cannot be controlled with mouse, scroll bar returns automatically to the top of scroll slide every time I move the bar to the bottom of the scale.  Also, there's a rectangular text box (with black background and white text) that is always on the desktop that emulates a typed text, HTML, or cmd function.

The first two problems (box cycling from element to element on page, scroll bar returning to top) can be caused by a stuck (or defective) Tab key on the keyboard. Such damage can be caused by a liquid spill; just one tiny droplet is enough to short a wafer switch under one key.
The last issue (black box, white text - sounds sorta like a debugger window) I haven't seen, but could be caused by something similar.
To check for that, try using a different keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, turn it off and see if the oddities stop.

  • Adding automatic stops afer each slide in a recorded project

I have a project recorded as demonstration, but I want to
make it stop after each slide and advance only on user action. I
don't want to be adding any buttons or anything - I am content with
the playback control provided by captivate. I don't see any reason
    creating my own secondary navigation,
I just want user to use Forward and Backward buttons from
Captivate Playback control to navigate between the slides - but the
    movie keeps playing constantly.
Please, is there an easy way how to make all slides in a
project stop at end? Thank you!

Hi Skippi.sk and welcome to our community
The only way to accomplish this is to insert either a click
box or a button on each slide. Probably the easiest way is using a
click box. object. Insert it on the first slide, size and position
as needed, then copy it. Then select slides two through the end and
    paste the object.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • I'm a dancer and dj and need to know, how do I play a playlist for a gig and have each song stop before the next one starts?

    HI,
Please tell me how I can use my ipod touch, using the selected playlist and have each song stop after it ends before going to the next?
I'm a dancer, so it's hard to dj and dance at the same time.  I don't want to hit pause!
    Thank You,
    Natasha

Many restrictions are intended to defend against kids who are trying to bypass controls and break into the System to run their own software from CDs or external drives. If you don't need those restrictions, you can turn them off and allow external drives to be mounted and show up.
Parental Controls is definitely worth looking into. If it does not offer enough controls, There are additional restrictions that can be applied.
These all come from the world of Mac OS X Server as it is used in Schools, and are applied in a completely non-intuitive way. You use the WorkGroup Manager tool from the Server Administration package (which normally restricts features of Users on a Network) to apply additional restrictions a local User.

  • Swf file exported from Captivate 2 should pause at each slide, but doesn't always

I have made a tutorial in Captivate 2 and exported it to an
swf format. In Captivate, I had put a button at the end of each
slide to pause it. I have gone back and checked to see if each
slide was correctly paused and it was. When I play it in Flash
Player 8, preview it in Captivate 2, or load it with Flash player 8
in an internet browser, most of the slides function as they should,
but randomly some slides will not pause and will just continue on
to the next one. It is different slides each time it is loaded that
do or don't pause. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it just
    a bug in Captivate?

  • Flash Output From Encore Slide Show has pauses on each slide

During the transitions between each slide, (naturally that is where the bit rate will be the highest) the audio stops then resumes quickly. This is completely unacceptable but I have found no way around it. I have tried different quality settings but there is no change.
I also noticed when I have tried to open the HTML file that is generated with each Flash attempt, I am unable to open it or double click on it to open the Flash show. I can only open the show by clicking on the SWF file that is generated.
If Encore had accomplish a clean encode to Flash, I would need the HTML file to function for the link to play the SWF file.
Are the play issues I have described rather common when using Encore to product the flash files?
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I would like to incorporate Encore in this way if it can produce reliable Flash based shows.
Thanks, I will appreciate any feedback I can get!

This is how Encore's slideshow works when you export to SWF, due to each slide being a separate FLV file.
The only way around it is to create your slideshow in Premiere, and then export it as AVI and import that into Encore.
Not sure why your HTML doesn't work. It's standard boilerplate SWF object and embed tags.

  • Converted from PowerPoint - animation has extra click on each slide

I converted a PowerPoint 2003 presentation into Adobe Captivate 4.  All works well except that on the published Captivate version there is one extra click at the end of each slide.  For example, each slide may have 4 or 5 bullets, but after the last bullet point is displayed, you have to click twice before it moves onto the next slide.  Is there a way to get rid of the extra required click?  (The clicks are correct in PowerPoint).
    Thanks.

I am having the same problem importing a PPT into Captivate 5.
When I imported, I made sure that the 'Advance Automatically' option was checked, and when I look at the timeline for the slides, there are no items that would make the slide pause.
When the slide finishes, it advances to the next slide, but immediately pauses. It won't continue until I press the Play button.
This problem mainly happens on slides that contain audio. (I've embedded the audio in the PPT file and tried importing the audio after it's been imported in CP5 -- same result.) There are a few imported PPT files that don't have any audio associated with it and it advanced without issue.
Help. This is driving me crazy!

  • Transition to next slide automatically at end of voice over clip

I have been trying to configure my Keynote 09 presentation so that each slide has it's own voice over audio clip. When the audio clip ends I would like to have the presentation move onto the next slide automatically. I cannot for the life of me find settings that tall the slide transition to take place when an audio clip ends.
I do not want to set a slide time to 8 seconds if the audio is 8 seconds. I update the audio too much to keep adjusting slide timings.
    Can Keynote do this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

To the best of my knowledge, no.
Having said that, if it takes you 1 minute to re-record audio file and re-insert audio to KN, it takes you 2 seconds to change the transition time so not sure your grief is so dramatic. Have to inspectors visible when you are replacing audio. One inspector on QT to show time length one inspector on Slide to change the transitions. If it is to dramatic then *Apple Menu > Keynote Feedback…* and ask for a build option that detects media elapsed time / end time is best suggestion I can offer.

  • How do I add a pathfield to each slide in a customized slideshow component?

While I have customized the foundation components in terms of their dialog structure or jsp rendering thus far, I have not delved as deep as editing the .js files which seems to be what would be required to add a pathfield to each slide in a slideshow.
im not sure which files i need to alter and include in some sort of clientlibs folder in the customized slideshow component(or where those files are located by default) and how to alter them to add the pathfield per slide(and make sure that field is saved along with other data when dialog is closed).
Is there anyone out there that could help me with this?  ive gone through the training materials i have and google'd the holy bejeebus out of it but cant really find any answers.
A video of a NKU slideshow component shows kind of what i am trying to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkS6KalmiS0

The JS files that you will probably need to modify are these -
    /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/form/Slideshow.js
    /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/form/Slideshow/Slide.js
    /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/form/Slideshow/SlidesPanel.js
    /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/form/Slideshow/TitlePanel.js
If all you need to do is add a pathfield to the panel, you should be able to do this by modifying the TitlePanel.js. The way I have customized the slideshow component is copy this files to my app directory and change the xtype on the Slideshow.js when registering it.
So your custom component would look something like this -
    /apps/mycomponent/slideshow/clientlib/js.txt (for JS libraries)
    /apps/mycomponent/slideshow/clientlib/source/Slideshow.js
    /apps/mycomponent/slideshow/clientlib/source/Slide.js
    /apps/mycomponent/slideshow/clientlib/source/SlidesPanel.js
    /apps/mycomponent/slideshow/clientlib/source/TitlePanel.js
/apps/mycomponent/slideshow/myslideshow (your custom slideshow component - dialog/jsp etc)
Your js.txt would look something like this
    #base=source
    Slideshow.js
    Slide.js
    SlidesPanel.js
    TitlePanel.js
At the very end of your Slideshow.js file, you will register your custom component like so
    // register xtype
    CQ.Ext.reg('myslideshow', CQ.form.Slider);

  • How to create buttons for each slide in slideshow

I currently have a slideshow working with prev and next buttons,
but would like to add numbered buttons for each slide at bottom of images,
with a static number for the active slide that has a colored circle around that number.
I can create static number with colored circle in Photoshop and add that to a layer,
but it's labor intensive to do that for all numbers.
Is there a better way to create the highlighted numbers for active slide?
For numbered buttons that link to non-active slides, I can create numbers in Photoshop and import images into Flash,
then convert to symbols and assign actions for them,
But that too is labor intensive to do for all the numbers.
Is there a better way to create numbered buttons for non-active slides?
I'd also like to have a hover function on the numbered buttons,
that changes from plain image of number to number with colored circle like I want to use for active slide.
How do I assign a hover function to button symbol, that will load another image or symbol?

Try to think in terms of having reusable symbols.  Think it thru before you try it.
Use a movieclip symbol instead of a button.  Have a dynamic textfield in that movieclip for the number, and set the textfield to not be selectable.  Have one frame of this movieclip where it displays as the highlighted (selected) one and have the movieclip go there where you are on that slide.
Use the textfield for the number--assign it dynamically so that you don't have to import an image for it.  Use as many of these movieclips as you need to for all your buttons.
Have functions that reset all the buttons at once so that when you move to a new slide, the previously selected one goes back to mormal... follow that with setting the newly selected one to be in its "selected" frame.

  • How do I share a Keynote project as Quicktime with narration on each slide?

I have a Keynote presentation with narration embedded in each slide. It plays fine as a self-timed show. I tied everything together by "recording" the presentation (with no extra sound). This second version of the show plays fine within Keynote, starting always at the first slide. When I try to share this second show as a Quicktime, the sound is hit-or-miss: part of the narration on some slides, all of it on others, none at all on others. The total length of the QT movie matches the playing time of the Keynote presentation, but the sound is whacko. My workaround was to do a screen capture with iShowU, but I would like to know the solution to the problem within the Keynote program. I would appreciate hearing any ideas anyone may have. Thanks.

    Oh !
    thats a shame
is there no public or semi public area to save a file to that can be shared

  • Is there anyway to publish each slide build in Captivate 5.5 to a word doc with slide notes?

I am looking for a way to print out my slides in a word document so that my copy editor can not only read my slide notes, but also view what is on my slide making sure there are not any errors. When I build my slides, I stack images up with things fading in and out enabling me to record audio for only one slide as opposed to each build. However when I publish to the handouts, my copy editor receives a slide with a lot of things built up on it and she can not see everthing that is on the slide (only what's on top). Does anyone have any advice or information they can give me relating to publising to handouts or storyboarding so that each slide build is seen?
Thank you in advance! I appreciate any help on this!

Captivate's handouts work in much the same way as PPT handouts.  If you had a lot of objects and animation on a single PPT slide it wouldn't look much different to a Captivate slide.
One good thing about Captivate though is that if you hide objects on the timeline for a given slide, the way that slide looks in Edit mode is pretty much what it will look like in the Handout doc graphic.  With judicious hiding of extraneous objects your slide printout won't look too bad.  The reviewers should at this stage mostly be just looking at the voiceover script anyway.  The NEXT stage of the review cycle would be to check the animation and syncing with the approved voiceover.
There's no way you can give your reviewer a Word doc straight out of Captivate that will show how you've animated the objects (fade ins and fade outs or effects etc).  If it's essential tey see this in action then consider sending them a PDF output from the project with TTS speech from the voiceover script and objects roughly synced to the TTS.  I don't see any point wasting too much time on getting everything synced perfectly at this stage because reviewers are just as likely to change a lot of the voiceover and render a lot of work useless.  But some reviewers have no imagination and can't get an idea of how the elearning will turn out until they see it almost finished.  Managers are the most likely to be like this.  And the higher up in management they are, the less imagination they have.

  • I want to be able to create an editable Evernote note from a PPT presentation, preserving the Speaker Notes at the bottom of each slide, while making that text still editable.  Can I use automator to copy/paste each slide/notes into Evernote?

I can print the PPT as a PDF with speaker notes but this makes it into an attachment when adding to Evernote which for some reason makes the text on each slide/image unsearchable and it just makes the whole file too big (which in many cases violates Evernote's 100 MB file size limit).
I have been researching how to convert the PPT to a Word document, but apparently Microsoft got rid of that feature in the version that I have (14.3.9) because it was too unweildy and just didn't always work like it was supposed to.
I don't have any experience with coding (very limited html coding), but it seems to me like this would be a very simple thing to do with Automator where I could just specify the new PPT that I received, click run, and voila! have an Evernote note with each slide followed by its speaker notes in text format so that I could add/delete/edit them as I please as I'm working through them for school.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!
