Each time I copy from the web to a doc file, firefox seeks to go to the web. If I deny it access, it drops my connection to the web and I must start over.

using windows2000, firefox 5, Comodo firewall Pro, I believe this began when firefox did an update. It also occurs when I examine a pdf file. This started a few weeks ago and it is now getting to be to much to bear. I wanted to know if there was a simple fix before it irritates me enough to do something in frustration.

I had the exact same issue, being on a mac. If you are on a mac and the connection error message occurs, then use this link http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

Rendering will take a very long time - I once needed 6 hours for a shorter high definition movie with plenty of effects.
What theme are you using and what settings?
The "places" theme needs a good network connection.
And the finished movie will need plenty of disk space.

What exactly happens when Aperture fails to render the movie? Are there any diagnostics, error messages in the console window, that relate to Aperture? Does Aperture alway stop at the same image or video clip?
if all fails, you could render your slideshow in two parts and combine the two videos on your DVD.

I used my Ibook 1 yaer. And now after starting over 2 minutes it's stuck! Servece company told me that the problem is in video card and it's need to replacing motherboard and it cost $800. This making useless my Ibook.

Enough dual USB G3 iBooks suffered from this problem that Apple began the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program in January of 2004. Check out the FAQ page and if the symptoms look familiar, give Apple a call. If your iBook qualifies, it's a free fix.
If you are past the three-year time limit, try calling and asking for Customer Relations and ask them to please make an exception to the three-year limit in your case.

How do I make Pages the default program for .doc files without having the need to change the default program for each individual.doc file?

Navigate to a .doc file.
Ctrl click the file
Choose Open with and then go down the list, past pages, to other
Navigate to pages
Before you click Open make sure you click the 'Always open with' check box.
You should be okay.
You can do a similar think by selecting the file, Choosing File-Get Info
Then open the Open With Disclosure triangle.
select pages and then click CHANGE ALL

I am trying to connect to the database using the BI Beans sample bootstrap.jpr
I am getting the BIB-16613 error.

I can connect to OLAP BIBDEMO (and SH) schema using OEM.
I can connect to BIBDEMO from JDev Connections (Catalog connection to BIBCAT, OLAP connection to BIBDEMO).
How can I establish the connection from the bootstrap sample?

I would like to display the PPT, PDF, XL, DOC files with in the Windows store app? is there any controls provided by Microsoft to view these files with in the app?

Any workaround to achieve the desired functionality?

As I know currently there is no in-build functionality to display the PPT, XLS or DOC file directly on the Windows Store App, but you can always open these files by
Launcher class
However a good news is we can display PDF on Windows Store App by
Windows.Data.Pdf class, see this for more information:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I have screwed up a bunch of settings etc. on macbook pro running preinstalled lion. I think I should is to wipe the computer and reinstall to start over again. I will loose nothing of importance except a few passwords. Is this wise? How do I do it?

To get everything straightened out, I was thinking I should do a delete and reinstall and just start over like it was a brand new computer. I will only loose some usermane and password info and my history and cookies. There is nothing else on the computer that is not on another device somewhere. Does this sound like the right thing to do? I cannot seem to find ways to correct the problems indivdually, though I am sure they are there. If so, how do I do it? Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list.
      Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
        and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process
      has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I messed up DNS, what are the steps clear out DNS and OD to start over?

After I changed the hostname using the Server wizard and the previous dns zones don't show up in server admin.app. I even tried to edit named.conf but it is somehow locked and won't let me over write it even with root.

They hid this one a little bit.
Download the Server Admin Utilities from apple.com/downloads
Open Server Admin.
Log in to the server in question.
Click on the arrow next to the server.
And there is the DNS Server control. You can update your zones there.
Did this from memory, since I am not in front of my server right now. I just figured it out myself last night. I had two "extra" zones from my earlier attempts to configure server that were wreaking havoc. 10.7 Server is not exacltly as advertised in terms of being the "server for everyone".

Maybe. However, they may still be on your PC's hard drive somewhere. Try searching for these files and then adding them back to iTunes. See this article for more information and assistance.
