We know nothing about your system, your e-mail retrieval method, whether or not you actualyl even have Adobe Reader/ Acrobat installed and whatnot. This is not going anywhere without some more info...

This same issue bothered me for years. The account I had used to purchase iTunes songs with suddenly stopped working. And always it was the same error about the security code.
I talked to iTunes support, my bank and the eCommerce customer support for my Visa card. No one could ever tell me what it was until this year. I tried for years, literally years, to figure it out. I had to buy iTunes gift cards and that was not convenient for me. But thankfully, someone who worked in the credit department of a major online retailer, finally explained it to me.
Small banks, sometimes large banks, often don't opt to offer debit and credit cards that use Visa's stronger security, which is advertised as "Verified By Visa". Not all stores and online shops use this security method during their checkout process, but iTunes does. (Amazon, for example, does not require it)
So any error having to do with the security code means that Apple's iTunes shopping cart requires the stronger security method and does not accept the older 3-digit security code on the back of the regular Visa debit and credit cards. You would want to see which of your cards is supporting Verified By Visa security, and use one of those. The card you are currently using will never be accepted, no matter how many people tell you to carefully check your billing and account addresses and spelling, etc.
So get a Verified by Visa card, or use MasterCard.

Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you can't update the iOS device. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

Just create an AppleID account without putting in credit card information.
Then proceed to download the free app.
It will ask you to put in AppleID info but it won't charge you as there is no creditcard connected to the account and zero balance.

Redirect the saving of the attachment to a folder of your choice. There is a setting for saving attachment to a specific folder and another that allows you to chose which folder everytime you save an attachment.

Each time I try to download a file document (ie. PDF), foxfire begins to open multiple new tabs, and wont quit. it also never really opens the file , and I can't stop the action unless I log off.

My iTunes shuts down each time I try to download a purchased song

Anyone out there who can offer any suggestions or help? I have purchased 2 songs using an iTunes Music Card, and when I go to view "Purchased Songs" there is nothing there. Then I go in and view my account and it shows that I have purchased 2 songs........so I try to download again, and I get the message, "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close (or shut down or whatever it says). Is there some other software I need to have in order to actually download songs from the iTunes music store? What am I not understanding? Thanks!

You may need to update to iTunes 10.7, which would require OS X 10.6.8.
But you can first try to reboot your computer and router/modem
