Ear buds for black video ipod

I was wondering, are the earbuds that come with the black ipod supposed to be white? I assumed that becasue the ipod was black, so the earbuds would be too. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, does anyone know if the apple care plan can be transferred from one ipod to a newer one?

Yes the earbuds are supposed to be white for black and white iPods; and about your Applecare question I don't think you can transfer it from one iPod to another but you can transfer it to a new owner if you were to sell you iPod.

I WENT AND EXCHANGED MY U2IPOD FOR ZA VIDEO IPOD TODAY,AND GOT CHANGE BACK..I say this because i like so many others had just bought a new Ipod only for Apple to come out with a much better 1 and cheaper!! So for all of you who have the same dimema go back and exchange it ,as long as you are still in the 14day period,,all they will charge you is no more than 32.00 depending on which Ipod you bought prior..example i bought the u2ipod which came out to 329.00,,the new Ipod video is 299.00 so they charged me 32.00 because i opened it..SO.. they gave me change back AWSOME!!!! SO IF YOU FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY GO AHEAD AND EXCHANGE IT OR DO THA OTHER IF YA KNOW WHAT IM SAYING..:) Oscar...BROOKLYN NYC.*

  • Any compatible USB 2.0 cards available for the video iPod?

Any compatible USB 2.0 cards available for the video iPod?
    Dual 867
    512 RAM
    OS X 10.4.3
I installed a TECHGEAR USB 2.0 card, the iPod shows that is active on the bus, but does not show on the desktop, or in iTunes. Epson printer works, but SanDisk does not. I have read about deep sleep issues too. USB 1.0 is painfully slow. After using FW to update our 15 Gig iPods for sooooo looooong this is one BIG step backwards. Dupid genius at the Apple store in Arden Fair said this iPod would work with a PCI 2.0 card. I am a little ticked after purchasing videos for my wife with the promise a card would work. I know, should have done more research and not asked the genius.
    Merry Christmas,
    Shawn Bockoven

Well, I now have a working USB 2.0 connection. BUT!!!! The lame OS X 10.4.3 sleep issue has raised its ugly head. How about supporting long time users Apple? Let's talk about supporting third party cards. I run a TV station and love my Mac's, but this legacy USB 2.0 stuff just stinks!
WAIT!!! My Mac is only fours years old. Is that too old? I just want to make my dual 867 sleep! Why can’t I put make my dual 867 sleep after installing a third party card? All the new Mac’s at the station work just fine. Now convince my 62-year-old mom to switch.

  • Wow, I need replacement soft ear buds for my headphones Apple doesnt sell them?

My dog managed to handle all three sets of the soft ear buds that have come with my Apple ear buds without damaging the ear phones themselves.  I contact live support on the site who tells me to call apple care.  I call Apple Care, and after a nice 10 minute wait I get a rep, who puts me on hold for another 6 minutes only to tell me they dont have them, I need to do a google search to buy aftermarket versions.
I love apple, I have apple laptops, and desktops.  I have every iphone and ipod they have put out.  I even buy their peripherals.  Its hard to believe something as easily lost as these little solicone tips are not supplied by Apple anywhere to replace them.
Today I am truly disappointed by Apple! =(
Does anyone know where I can get a set of replacements?

This has already been answered, see this thread: Replacement parts for the new apple...: Apple Support Communities
And if I had to buy headphones again I would by the same Apple in ears, they are great!

You'll probably get a lot of opinions with iPod cases. Sometimes they are good, sometimes people report that they actually scratch an iPod.
Some iPod cases can be found at Apple's online store:
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?find=ip od+case
Be sure to click "Next" to go to the further pages to see all (or more of) the results for iPods cases.
Also, you might want to search the Discussions for suggestions with specific iPods cases; this is a question that is asked very frequently, so you might find more answers by searching the Discussions:

Sorry I can't directly suggest any specific ones, but searching for various answers on here might really be helpful.

    hi,

    o.
    (theres a catch
neither ipod was purchased through an apple store and both are not covered by an apple warantee- one by a best buy warantee...)

    Apple does offer a deal.

  • Converting Videos for the Video Ipod?

ok i just bought the 60G Video IPOD, i downloaded a video from Itunes just to see if it works, i downloaded a video from Limewire, and when i went to add it to the ipod it says that it could not be added or using with the Ipod why? I need to converte it from the itunes Library? Ok once it gets downloaded into the limewire folder and i add it to itunes, what do i do next before adding it to the ipod, i am not spending 1.99 for each video that will be like 1,000 i spoend on videos..lol
Thank you so much for your help

I just got the Video iPod also. So far not too happy about the file type restrictions...after all I spent a year encoding MY entire DVD collectin and was thrilled not to have to take a laptop with me on travel.
    CONVERTING MOVIES for ViPOD.
You have to have the updated Quicktime 7.0.3.
AND then you have to open the file in QT.
    Go to EXPORT.
Select "Movie to iPod" which will convert the file to an .m4v
The movie will be saved in this mode as 320x240.
However, this process is incredibly slow. It's been trying to convert a movie in .mp4 to .m4v and it's been two hours now and it looks like it's only 15% done.
There has to be a faster conversion tool out there. For viewing a few flicks...I would have to spend days just to get 3 or 4 movies on my Video iPod.
MY SUGGESTION: DONT BUY the ViPod YET!!!! Wait till the holidays are over or give an Apple Gift Card.

  • Movies for my video iPod

I have an 80gb video iPod and I want to put some of the movies I own on it. I can not figure out how to get them downloaded to iTunes store though without having to buy them for 10bucks each. Can anyone help me?? Any help would be greatly app.
    Thanks
    Keith

If these are movies from your own DVDs (commercially released movies), then unfortunately, because of copyright issues discussing this subject is not permitted on Apple's forums as the Apple Discussions User Agreement now clearly states.
Under item 2, para 8.2 it says "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store."

  • Exchange my broken nano for a video ipod?

The play/pause button on my 10-day-old nano stopped working so I used the online form to request warranty support. I shipped it today in the box they sent me.
I'd actually like a video ipod instead of a (scratch-prone) nano back - does Apple let people do this? How would a guy in Canada go about speaking to someone in authority about it? (I returned my nano through an online process; there was no phone number that I could find.)

    Hey afw,
You're a little confused about what other people were doing. They weren't sending in for repair, and getting new models- they were RETURNING their iPods (according to the return policy of where they bought it- with Apple, you have 14 days), and buying different ones instead.
If you send your iPod in for repair, you will get the EXACT same model back as you sent in- there is NO WAY around this.
And, if you have an engraved iPod, the 14 day return policy doesn't apply- it is unreturnable (though, under warranty, and of course repairable).

  • In Ear buds for Gym use

    Hey!
My wife is currently lamenting the passing of her FOURTH pair of 'Sennheiser cx300's in ear buds' in under 2 years!
My personal experience of Sennheiser has been excellent to say the least.I had a pair of CX300's for over 2 years before they failed, and presently am very satisfied with my CX500's.They are pretty robust and reliable,as were my 300's.
It mustn't be coincidence that my wife regularly uses hers at the Gym.Which leads me to suspect that perspiration(didn't wanna type sweat.....doesn't look nice!) is compromising the units.
With that in mind, can anyone who also worships their temple, recommend a hardy(waterproof?) set of buds.Might also mention I've been footing the bill each time they go!!
Don't want to spend too much hahaha they aint for me!
    Cheers,
    John

Sorry, I can't be of much help with your problem, but I couldn't resist---- you say YOU are "footing the bill" each time for your wife's earbuds--- I have only one question. Does your wife contribute nothing to your relationship? Earn no money? or clean your house? or take care of your children? Or cook your meals? Do your laundry? If so, how dare you say that she deserves less than you do? Ok, meant no harm, your wording just left me with a bad taste.

  • Iskin evo3 white on black video ipod?

Im buying this iskin for my brother´s ipod video which is black, but sadly I could only find the transparent white one, will it look ok on the black ipod?
    Macbook!   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

When the Nanos first came out all I could find was a white transparent silicon rubber case for it. It did not look too bad, you could tell that it was black underneath, but the important thing is that it was protected. It should be fine. I am sure he will be happy to get the case. Será bueno y usted es un hermano bueno para comprarle un caso. Yo espero que esto ayude y Feliz Navidad

  • Case Recommendations For 30G Video Ipod

I will b e getting the above Ipod within a couple of weeks. Should I just get a v-sheild or just a case or both. Also, could you recommend a case. Thanks so much.

I really like the hard plastic, transparent case
SeeThru Hard Case for iPod Video 30GB, 3 Pack
    Manufacturer: Speck Products
    Mfg Part #: IV30-3PK-SEE
Available from CompUSA and a bunch of others. $30 for a three pack in three colors (clear, smoke grey, and red).
Easy on the pocket, can see video through screen, prevents scratches, etc. One trick, though. A standard 1/8" mini stereo plug won't fit through the case. Shave a little off your soft plastic mini-plugs with a craft knife and it works like a charm.

  • I purchased a video for my Video iPod but it will not download....

About two weeks ago I purchased Lost Season 2 Episode 1 for my 60 GB iPod Video and ever since then I have been trying to get it to download and it will not work. It tells me:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disc could not be read from or written to."
I have tried to get it about 25 times from the Check for Purchases menu in iTunes but still the same error. I wrote Apple's Help Desk and their responce was they could not help me with this problem. It makes no sense why I would purchase something, get charged, have a problem, and no one at Apple know how to help me with it. It seems pretty sad on their part no one knows what is going on. Any help on this would be very appreciated!

I purchased a video from the Music Store, but could not get it to download. The error stated simply, "The required folder cannot be found." I wrote to Apple Support who first directed me to a tech article for MacOS even though I indicated I was on a Windows platform. After asking for Windows-specific information, they directed me to call the AppleCare tech support which "may have a fee associated with the call." Useful...not!
I have my music stored on an Iomega REV drive. After reading some of the postings, I decided to try changing the iTunes Music folder location to my C drive (an totally standard location on a NTFS partition: My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music). This seems to have worked. The video downloaded and played. Shortly afterwards, iTunes imploded, but it restarted.
Maybe something I've said can hint to a solution for someone else...
