Ear Buds short out at the gym

Help,
The Ear Buds that came with Ipod are loose in my ears (larger than my ears. I have gone through several sets of buds (to block out the other music at the gym) and they have all failed. I think it is due to persperation.
Any expereince with earbuds that hold up to persperation?
Thanks

How about in-ear-monitors? They sit in ear canal like ear plug and block out most ambient noise. When I use mine I have to run iPod volume at lowest volume setting before sound is off completely.

    anyway to fix this problem

Every time I try to talk to my wife when using the Iphone 5 with Earpods, or any other headset for that matter, she complains that the mic on my phone headset is picking up EVERY SINGLE SOUND and amplifying it so loud that she can hardly hear my voice over all the background noise.... I have replecated this problem now 10 different iphone5 of my friends.... which is every single iphone 5. Without fail they all have this same issue. It is not my wifes phone either. People always complain when I am using my headset. ESPECIALLY when I am trying to comply with new laws requireing hands free phone usage. It is unacceptable for Apple to have failed in fixing this problem. I have spoken with several customer service reps/Genius's about this and there is no fix to date. I have upgraded my iphone5 to all latest versions of iOS with the hopes that Apple will one day fix this problem with a software update. Will someone please help us!!!!! I doubt my Apple loyalty will last without a fix to this massive inconvienence.

  • TS2634 I bought a ipad back in December and the ear buds never worked.  The sound doesnt come out of what you put in your ear but comes out of the little hole on the outside of the ear buds.  Is this supposed to be this way?

The earbuds that came with my ipad have never worked.  They have sound that comes out of the outside hole of the earbuds.  When you put them in your ears no sound can be heard.  Has this been a problem or did mine just come broken?

I have the same problem and it has just started in the last day or so...
Got the phone late July and then in the last day, everytime I plug into PC or take a photo,  I get the same "Disk Error / Retry message"
What is interesting is that I always had the Photo Storage location as the Memory Card (detachable).   Seems odd that sometime in the last month or so the phone decided to change my setting to the Mass Memory. Might have been an firmware update that I have done in the past but not sure.
Changing the Photo Storage Location back to the Memory Card has stopped the error coming up everytime a Photo wastaken, but the message continues when I plug in the phone to the PC.
Phone was just updated to latest firmware this morning and that has not helped, although during the back-up process I could not save some files from the Mass Memory.
I wonder if Optus will shout a new phone because their technicians are useless with past experiences and to be honest the N97 really promises so much but offers very little compared to all of my last Nokia's.

  • EAR BUD Headphone Problems .. the how to fix them thread!

    Hi Guys,
Said I would start off this thread for all those with EAR BUD Headphone problems. Specifically:
    - Those with ONE SIDE quieter than the other
    - Those with ONE or BOTH sides completely gone.
This would apply to those who own Creative players with Ear Bub Phones supplied or the like.
I think I have a solution to those with "ONE SIDE quieter than the other". If you pull off the rubber gels from the phones you will see a MESH. You might notice an ear wax buildup on the outside of this mesh. Dont bother cleaning it yet. Now you may have to do something you wont like - Use a Jewelers Screwdriver OR some tool equally thin to POP OUT the mesh. Now turn the mesh around. You should now see the problem - HUGE WAX BUILDUP on the under side. NOW clean both sides if you wish, but you might be at a hiding for nothing - I challenge you to get the mesh back in. Not to worry - the phones and sound should now be back as it was in day one. Stick the GELS back on without the mesh. Also behind that mesh maybe a piece of foam. Up to you what you want to do with this ...
It seems this WAX buildup issue on the underside of the mesh in EAR BUDS is a common problem across all makes. I have a Creative, Seinheiser and Philips set - all with the same issue. I did the above on all - now all are back working fine.
Of course you may have to be on WAX lookout more frequently if you cannot get the MESH back in, which maybe the case most of the time. It would seem the very device - the mesh - that protects the buds from WAX buildup is causing a problem itself ..
WITH respect to issues with NO SOUND on either or both sides, this maybe a cracked wire, usually up around the bud end. One thing I have not figured out in most Ear Buds is how to open the casing - over to somebody else for this,
Hope this is helpful to others,
Cheers, Aidan ( Cork, Ireland )

That's a bit trickier. I think I'd select the text from the beginning of the frame wher the continuation starts and cut to the clipboard, then paste at the end of the text in the frame from where it should continue. That frame should now show an overset, and you should have a bunch of empty linked frames where the text was previously located.
Turn on show text threads and find the first out port in front of the now empty frame and click it, then click inside the same frame (or double click the outport should work too). This will break the thread at that frame, but leave the empties threaded together so you can pick up the overset and flow it back in from the other page.

  • My Apple In-Ear Headphones fall out all the time

Yeah...  no matter what size of the ear tips I use they always get out of the cavity of the ear, that produces a sound lower than conventional headphones.. Does this represent a guaranty issue?

I am experiencing warm temperatures with my iphone 4? I cannot explain it but it seems to happen when I make certain phone calls or if the phone is just sitting idle? Any insight on this problem is much appreciated.

  • What are the best ear-bud headphones under $50?

I’m going to Europe for about a year and (of course) taking my iPod with me. The problem is, Apple’s ear-buds that come with the iPod get pretty uncomfortable after about an hour. I’m looking for a pair of ear-buds headphones that are good quality, provide good sound, are comfortable, but aren’t too expensive.
The main two that I have been looking at are the Koss "Plug" portable headphones and the Sony Fontopia headphones. Does anyone have any other suggestions or are one of these good?

In my humble opinion... Sony MDR-EX51LP Studio Monitor Headphones (Blue) $39.95 Quantity: 1.
I use them and enjoy them for the price!
... of course, for over the price... Bose TriPort Headphones - Silver or any Sennheiser (HD497, HD590, etc.) pair will work fantastically.
Oh, yeah, the PX100, PX200, PMX60 by Sennheiser are good portables ones, too... highly recommended!

  • Headphones for the Gym

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend some good, light, over-the-top-of-head type headphones suitable for wearing while exercising or jogging? I'm after something that has the pads that sit on your ears - with optimal comfort, sound, and decent noise cancellation <$100.
I tried the ear clip ones but the headphone speaker doesn't sit flush with my ear, and the ear buds have a tendency to fall out when running and cause great discomfort in my ears after a few minutes.
I've been reading reviews all morning to no avail. Please help!
    Thanks for your time!

I know this won't help too much. But I read an article in GQ a while back that talked about this exactly. It suggested some cool ear buds for gym use. Oh and FYI don't use the $75 version of Apples ear buds. I learned the hard way. I bought that pair and now they are causing all the problems you just described. *****!

  • Decent Headphones for the Gym

    Hi
I'm trying to find a decent set of headphones for my iPhone (3GS) which will survive a fairly lengthy workout in the gym without causing my iPhone to go insane. The Apple supplied 'phones suffer from sweat running down the wire and into the clicker which causes the volume to go up and down, songs to pause and ultimately the voice control trigger to keep firing until they're removed and left to dry out.
What I want is a pair which has the remote option still but are designed so that sweat won't run down the wires or a bit more water-tight.
    Thanks
    Ali

  • Need Good Headphones For The Gym...Thoughts?

I have some cheap Nike Headphones for running, but these are the behind the head ones which will break if I'm doing any kind of weights where my head is back against a bench.
I have been using the headphones which came with the iPod, but they keep falling out. This is very annoying.
So...if anyone has had success with headphones (not behind the neck/head) which stay in your ears and are good for the gym, please let me know.
    Many thanks in advance!!

  • My daughter's Nano isn't working correctly with ear buds

I purchased an iPod Nano for my daughter a few months ago, but didn't give it to her until last month (it was her birthday last month). Anyway, for all intents and purposes it is only 1 month old, since it hasn't been used before that time.
Suddenly she is finding that her ear buds are not working properly. If she plugs it in and rotates the connection a little bit, the sound will improve and degrade. This suggests to me that there is something wrong with the iPod Nano; am I correct about that? And if so, what do we do about it?

Have you tried using the iPod Nano with another set of headphones to see if the sound is still degraded? If the sound is still degraded it would mean that the headphone jack of the iPod Nano is defective and you should contact Apple for a repair/replacement. If it is the earbuds then I suggest contacting Apple for a replacement of a pair of earbuds, if you are within the warranty they will repair/replace any defective part.
Yes we have, and they don't work any better than the ear buds that came with the iPod Nano.
So, how do I notify Apple to get a replacement?

  • MacBook Pro 4,1 shorted out via case around screen.

Hello all, and thanks for any help!
    MAcbook pro 4,1 (Early 2008, 2.4 ghz core 2 duo, I think either A1226 or A1260)
Earlier tonight, my MacBook Pro shorted out when the outer case surrounding the lcd touched another metal component on the desk of the sound booth at my church. It was powered on, plugged in via MagSafe, and the battery was connected. The other component was uneffected, but the MB immediately crashed, while simultaneously creating sparks. It will not turn on at all (not even the fans will spin up) under these circumstances: battery and MagSafe connected, only battery connected, only power supply connected.
I've opened it up (it's well out of warranty by now) and everything appears to look ok. I've read that the culprit could be the left IO board not supplying power to the computer, but I'd think it would start under the battery if that was the only problem. I'm beginning to suspect the mother board because I know the one for this model has been known to have issues.
Any thoughts? Would I be better off to get a newer refurbished MacBook when weighed against repair costs?
    Thanks!

"touched another metal component on the desk of the sound booth"
What was the other metal component?
You should definitely measure possible voltage between that "metal component" and a good ground. A cold water pipe would be the best. If it 's not plastic. Check for both AC and DC because that sounds dangerous!
    As for the MBP:
What is the state of the charger light? Battery LEDs?
Try resetting SMC by disconnecting the battery and pushing the power button for 10 seconds with the power adapter disconnected. Then try a restart.

  • Cleaning Ear Buds?

    hi,
Does anyone know how to clean the white ear buds that come with the Ipod? I seem to be getting re-occuring ear infections! Thanks!
    -Shari

have you outfitted it with the earbud covers that came with your ipod? if not, you might have to clean them every now and then, using a needle or something similar to clean the very small holes in the buds.

  • Non Ear Bud Headset with Controls

I can't stand ear-buds, but I love the inline controls that come with the iPhone ear buds. I see lots of on-ear and over-ear headsets with volume control, but nothing with the advance/reverse buttons. Does Apple (or anyone) make non ear bud headsets with the full inline controls? And if not, why don't they? Lot's of people don't want to ruin their hearing completely, or find ear buds very uncomfortable, or have hearing aids, etc.
